Skipped 1912 and Break On Through

For the past week, Ariel has been enjoying her "girl time" with Bonnie and Caroline. The friendship between them has strengthen greatly as Caroline helps Abby with her vampirism and Ariel trying the cheer up everyone with her lame jokes which worked as always. 

The three have ignored Elena, Damon, Stefan and Alaric since their betrayals. Bonnie learns of Ariel and Caroline's relationships with Kol and Klaus, and while she hasn't met Kol and doesn't like Klaus, she supports them as she truly wants them to be happy. Bonnie can't bring herself to be against it, seeing the sparkles in Ariel's eyes whenever she talks about Kol and seeing a guy who picks Caroline and not Elena.

Kol took off shortly after the incident with Esther trying to kill her children but calls and texts the young teen every day. Thinking no one notices, Ariel and Bonnie see Caroline becoming closer to Klaus. He contacts her every day and sometime she sneaks out to see him. Those times, Ariel would put on a disguise and follow her sister, keeping a watchful eye on the two. Bonnie would laugh every time she does so.

The fun and happiness is short-lived when Abby accidentally bites Jamie, her foster son and leaves them.

Back at the Forbes house, Ariel screams as she awakens from a nightmare. Caroline and Liz barge through the door to comfort the frighten girl. "Sweetie, it's okay."

"Mom?"

"Yeah." Liz holds on tightly to her daughter.

"What was it about?"

Ariel silently cries and nods. "Sis...can you keep an eye on Matt and the others today? Don't let them know you're there. I need you to call me if they're up to something... I think it involves Finn."

Caroline and Liz look confused but she nods. "Okay."

After a while, Ariel and Bonnie meet up and head to the Mikaelson mansion. As they enter, Klaus greets them and brings them into the living room.

"So why did you ask for Bonnie to be here?"

"I've run out of options so she is the last hope. Bonnie, I need for you to break the spell that links me and my siblings."

"Let me ask her." Ariel turns to Bonnie. "Is that okay with you?"

"Wait, why are you speaking for her? And no offense because I enjoy your company, why are you here? I called for Bonnie."

"Because I'm her bodyguard, duh!"

"Body- You? ...Really?"

"Yes."

"Oh so when you were following me and your sister around, was that you being her bodyguard?"

"You knew I was there?!"

"Of course I did, those ridiculous disguises. You're lucky your sister didn't see you."

"Shut up! Somebody had to keep an eye on you two! I had to make sure you weren't canoodling with my sister!"

"Canoodling? That's what you want to call it? And I acted like a perfect gentleman!"

"Of course you did, old man. And for that I am proud."

"...Why do I put up with you?"

"Because I'm too adorable and you love me!"

Bonnie amused by the bickering, tries her hardest to hold back her laughter. Later, while Bonnie is studying the unlinking spell, Ariel talks to Klaus while in his art room.

"I'm surprised. She's helping my family and I didn't even have to threaten her."

"Believe me, she still doesn't like you but she's really glad to see me and Caroline so happy. She thinks we deserve it."

"Of course you two do. You both deserve the world."

"...Klaus... I actually came with Bonnie for another reason. It's strange... I had a nightmare this morning and it was about Finn."

"That is strange for you to have a dream about my oldest brother and not my youngest one." Klaus said with amusement.

"Shut up, I'm being serious! Finn was killed by Elena and the others! It felt so real... And there was this woman who died as well. It was her death was caused because..."

Ariel suddenly collapses and Klaus catches her. "Ariel? Ariel?!"

Ariel finds herself in darkness but can hear someone calling to her. "Listen to me, you have to stop what is to soon occur. Only you can stop it."

"Why me?

"It has to be you. Save him."

"Who are you?"

"You'll find out soon... Maybe you'll figure it out before my identity is revealed. Now, there's two more things that I have to tell you..."

Ariel wakes up with a gasp and sees she's in Klaus' room. She hears her phone buzzing, finding it on the nightstand. She checks to see a text from Caroline, warning her that Elena and the others are planning to kill Finn. She jumps out of bed and quickly puts on her shoes, running out of the room only to be stopped by Klaus.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Klaus, I don't have time to explain-"

"You just fainted and you expect me to let you out of my sight?!"

"Look, tell Bonnie she needs to hurry up with that spell! Right now, there's someone that I have to save!"

"Ariel-"

"Do you trust me?"

"You know I do."

"Then let me go."

Klaus ponders for a moment before stepping to the side to allow Ariel to pass. After a while, Ariel finally meets up with Caroline and they rush inside the grill. Elena shoot is about to shoot Finn with a crossbow and Caroline vamp speeds to the girl to knock her out. Ariel runs to Finn, stepping in-between him and Matt stops just in time before the white oak stake can pierce her heart.

"Ari, are you insane?!"

"Matt, don't do this!"

"They're the enemy!"

"What have any of them ever done to you, Matt?! You shouldn't even be involved in this, so why are you?!"

Matt immediately beings regretting his actions when seeing Ariel's tear-stained face and she immediately takes the stake from him. "Finn, get out of here."

"...Thank you." Finn vamp speeds away.

"Matt, I don't want you to become a murderer. Elena might be fine with it but I'm not. We have always been there for each other and I hate that she has you wrapped around her finger. Killing the originals, isn't the answer. How by killing them is going to make things better? It's not. I doesn't change anything! ...We need to move on with our lives and stop looking back."

Stefan sees what happening and approaches them with an angry expression. Ariel turns to him when he approaches them.

"What have you done, Ariel?"

Caroline stands beside Matt. "What she had to do. What is wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you two?! You're both sleeping with the enemy!"

"We're not sleeping with anyone, Stefan! If the originals are the enemy, then what does that make us?! We're not so innocent! How many families did you tear apart, Mr. Ripper?! What about Damon who turned Vicki into a vampire who you also killed! And me, I killed a man!"

"This is unbelievable. You both just ruined our chance to kill them!"

"Stefan... I am so tired. Aren't you? I am saying this as someone who loves you so much. You need to let this go. Let go of the revenge and let go of Elena."

"Klaus took everything from me, Ariel!"

"No he didn't! You still had Damon! You still had Elena! You still had Caroline! And you still had me! You're the one who pushed us away! But me... I never once stopped fighting for you! Killing Klaus is not going to make you feel better. It's not going to change anything... Another thing, if you plan on getting Elena back...please don't. I don't want to continue seeing you and Damon fight over a girl whose going back and forth between the two of you. Being with her not only ruins your bond with Damon but its ruining you too. Do you really want to continue repeating history? Elena doesn't want to be vampire so why are you still hanging onto her?" Ariel holds one of Stefan's hands in hers. "Let her go... Let the revenge go. Don't do it for me or anybody else... Do it for yourself."

Stefan, affected by her words, vamp speeds away. The rest notice Elena waking up. 

"What happened? Where's Finn?"

"You just won't stop will you?"

"Ariel-"

Ariel slaps Elena. "Why is it so hard for you to do as I ask?! You just always do what you what!" 

"That's not true."

"Oh, really? Then why are you still hanging onto Stefan and Damon when you don't want to be a vampire? Their relationship has become more strained because of you and you know that. I begged you not to get between them! Let them both go!"

"You know we used to be so close until he came into your life."

"You mean Kol? He's not to blame for this, you are! Because of your stupid decisions! The day you sent Jeremy away, our friendship fell apart! You dagger my friend and you even try to kill her and her siblings!"

"Why can't you be on my side? I know that Jeremy is your best friend but I had to send him away for his own safety!"

"That should have been his choice! You took his own free will from him and it doesn't help that once again you used Damon!"

"Ari-"

Caroline blocks Ariel from Elena's view. "What is it going to take for you to stop?

"Klaus has to die."

"It's not going to bring Jenna back, you know? And it's not going to bring John back. So please...just stop. You are still alive, okay? John chose to give up his life for you. Move on with your life and stop looking back."

"Care-"

"You treat Klaus as he is the most evil person in the world when he's not. Stefan, Damon, even me. We're not so innocent either. Let everything go and you will feel so much better. Me and Ariel really don't want to keep doing this with you, Elena. So please, live your life and be happy. Stop with the plotting and dragging others into it. If you keep this up, you're going to lose so much more." 

Caroline takes Ariel's hand and along with Matt leave the grill. The sisters go to the Mikaelson mansion and give the stake to Klaus which he thanks both the sisters for as well as saving Finn. While he, Caroline and Rebekah go to burn the last of the stakes, receives a call from Stefan to meet with him at the entrance of Mystic Falls. He stands by his red convertible when Ariel approaches him.

"So why are we here?"

"You were right... I need to let go of my revenge. Killing Klaus won't solve anything and make me feel better. I'm no different from Klaus and his family. I've torn people away from their families and destroyed many lives just like any vampire has. As for Elena, I really do need to let her go. Because of my love for her, she keeps taking advantage of it. And I can't keep holding onto some fantasy of her and me having some happy ending when she doesn't want to be a vampire." 

"You can get your happy ending. You'll find the right person, she's out there somewhere."

"Yeah, I believe that... That's why I have to leave. I need a fresh start... Thank you for always being there and not giving up on me."

"Of course, what are little sisters for? You better call every week and send postcards."

Stefan chuckles and hugs Ariel. "Of course."

"What about Damon and Caroline?"

"I've already talked to him. He wasn't happy."

"Of course he wasn't, he's Damon."

Stefan laughs and squeezes her tighter. "Caroline supports my decision. As for Elena, I wrote her a letter."

"Wimp."

"Shut up." Ariel giggles despite her tears. "Okay, I have to go now... I love you."

"Love you too, Stef."

Stefan lets Ariel go and gets into his car, driving away from Mystic Falls. Another car pulls up, the driver is revealed to be Kol. "Hello darling. I've missed you. Up for a trip?"
