Ariel walks up to the Mikaelson Mansion as she is talking to Damon on her cell phone.

"Are you sure you're okay? I can come over and we can have a besties' day."

"Thanks but I'll have to take a raincheck. Hang out with your friends or whatever it is you plan on doing today. And stay away from that psycho."

"I'll agree to that if you just relax at home, not think about Elena. Also please do not go to the grill. I just know you'll drink all day or kill somebody. Got it?"

"Hmm... I'll try my best."

"Thank you. And can you..."

"What?"

Before Ariel can ask him, she sees Rebekah approaching her, still wearing her dress from last night.

"Never mind. I'll talk to you later. Love you, Dee Dee!" She quickly hangs up. "Rebekah Mikaelson! Really?! The walk of shame. I never thought I see you do it... So who was it? Was he good? Man, I so have to get laid one of these days!"

Rebekah smirks and mouths "Your brother" then rushes into the mansion.

"Wait... My...?" Realizing that Rebekah means Damon, she rushes after her. "Come back here!"

Ariel heads to the living to find Kol blocking Rebekah's way. Ariel sees the hybrid on the couch sketching, she gives a small wave as he gives her a small smile in return. "Well, well, well, there's our girl!" Kol looks behind Rebekah to see Ariel and smiles, "Hello, darling."

"Out of my way, Kol."

"Out all night, what a scandal! I trust you did better than that commoner? Matt, was it?

"Hey! If Matt is a commoner, what does that make me?!"

"I didn't mean it like that-"

"Kol, stop talking. Because if you don't shut your mouth, the next thing to come out of it will be your teeth."

Kol walks up to Ariel and gently takes her hand. "Don't be mad."

"Take back what you said about Matt or no date!"

"I take it back!"

"Good. Becky, we're going to talk about you-know-who later. Now, let's go...mini Elijah." Ariel heads to the front door as Kol groans. "See you, Nicky! Later, Becky!"

"Yes, please take him! You're doing me a favor Ariel, this house has enough men rolling around in it."

"Just like you, Bekah!" Rebekah throws her shoe at Kol but misses at he rushes to catch up with Ariel.

"Good riddance!"

Klaus quickly gets up and grabs his jacket to follow his brother and best friend.

"Where are you going?"

"Someone has to keep an eye on those two. Believe me, this is mostly for Ariel's sake."

Meanwhile at the grill, Ariel and Kol are sitting in one of the booths while Klaus is sitting at the bar, keeping a close eye on the two. Alaric and Meredith are also there, Alaric worries for his student that he greatly cares for.

"I can't believe that you eaten four cheeseburgers!"

"Please, you're no better than me! You just ate three!"

Ariel laughs and throws a fry at Kol and he throws one right back at her, both giggle at their childish antics. "But you really met a cult who worshipped this lunatic who would bring the end to all things on earth?"

"Pretty much... What?"

"I can't believe you met a cult. If I ever came across a cult, I'm going in the other direction."

"I guess it's a good thing I killed them all."

"Really?"

"Really. But that was during a time when I was searching for witches. Trying to get back something I can never have again... Magic."

"So you were a witch before you became a vampire?"

"Yes and the only one out of my siblings. The rest of them were never able to tap into it like I did... I loved it, being a witch. The magic, the power... But I lost it all when becoming a vampire and I hated it."

Ariel places her hand on top of his. "Would you ever want to go back to that time? If you could change things, would you?"

"If I was able to do that, I wouldn't get to see you again and I don't want that."

"What, you don't believe in reincarnation?"

Kol chuckles. "You are an interesting one."

"In a good or bad way?"

"Definitely good."

"Thanks for the compliment...mini Elijah!"

"Darling, you've ruined the moment! Please stop with that god awful nickname!"

Ariel laughs as Kol throws another fry at her and she throws one right back at him. Klaus smiles as he watches the interactions between them. He then sees Caroline joining him.

"Caroline."

"Guess I'm not the only one who had the same idea."

"You don't have too much to worry about. Kol has been a complete gentleman but they keep throwing fries at each other."

Caroline holds back a laugh and smiles as she sees her younger sister enjoying herself.

"Join me for a drink?"

"No thanks, I just came to check up on her."

Caroline leaves and he checks his phone, receiving a text from Ariel saying "GO FOR IT!" He looks up at Ariel who along with Kol are giving him a thumbs up. He replies back to her text and hurries after the older sister. Ariel reads the text he sent back, "I'll take that as a challenge." Ariel giggles and gives Kol a high five. As soon as their hands connect, he laces their fingers together.

"Play pool with me?"

"Okay."

Kol continues holding her hand, brings her over to the pool area and begin to play. "Have you never wondered about your real family?"

"Yes I have. All the time..."

"What's wrong?"

"Ah well... I've been having this dream for about a month now. I think it's a memory. It's me as a child and this man whose my dad but I can never see his face. He tells me that even though I'll forget him, he wanted me to remember that he'll always love me."

"Anything else?"

"I wasn't born here in Mystic Falls, I was brought here. So I don't know where I'm really from. All I remember was my first name. I've asked my mom about it but she tells me she found me and no one was able to identify me and no one claimed me so she just took me in... I've started thinking that I was compelled to forget."

"Have the Salvatores or any other vampire compelled you?"

"Nope. Damon was the one who gave me my vervain bracelet. And I take vervain everyday just in case. But no one has ever tried to compel me."

"Darling, do you mind-" Kol suddenly screams and falls to the ground. A silver dagger is in Kol's back and Ariel sees it's Alaric's doing.

"Ric, what are you doing?!"

"I'm sorry, Ari but this is for your own good! This family is dangerous!"

As Alaric begins to drag him out, Ariel quickly goes for the dagger but is stopped by Damon.

"Sorry, little mermaid."

Outside in the alleyway next to the grill, Damon continues to hold onto Ariel who struggles against him while Stefan keeps watch. Alaric drags Kol outside.

"Thanks, brother."

"Why are you doing this?!"

"This is our chance to kill Klaus!" Stefan tries to reason with her.

"...What?" Ariel turns around to look at Damon, hurt and betrayal in her eyes. He soon looks away, almost regretting his actions. "Explain yourselves."

"Esther needed Elena's blood to link the siblings. So when one dies, they all die. This is our chance to kill Klaus and we have to take it!" Stefan explains while showing no remorse.

"What about his siblings?"

"Collateral damage."

Ariel scoffs and looks at Alaric. "Did you tell them that I was here?"

"...I called Damon and let him know you were with Kol. I was worried, Ariel!"

"Worried for what?! Huh?! Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah have never hurt me! You know that! Kol wasn't going to hurt me either and you've should been able to seen that since you were watching us! Besides I can take care of myself! You and Damon taught me, remember?"

Stefan becomes frustrated. "Why are you always defending them?! After everything-"

"Don't even! You and Damon are no saints either! Why can't you all just let it go and move on?!"

"Ari-" Damon tries to hold Ariel's hand but she retract her own.

"Where's Elena, huh? Where's the mastermind that's too afraid to show her face?"

"Elijah kidnapped her when he found out and Rebekah is holding her hostage."

"Well...if she had used her brain, she wouldn't be in that mess." Ariel disgusted by the three males actions. Stefan's neck is suddenly snapped by no one other than Klaus and Ariel takes the opportunity to push Alaric away whom Klaus then knocks out. She immediately pulls the dagger out of Kol's back as Klaus grabs Damon by the throat.

"I should have killed you months ago."

"Do it. It's not going to stop Esther from killing you."

"What did you say about my mother?"

"You didn't know I was friends with your mummy? Yeah, we have a lot in common. She hates you as much as I do."

Klaus is about to attack Damon and Ariel grabs his arm and Elijah appears.

"Leave him! We still need them, Niklaus!"

"What did mother do?"

"These three idiots told me that your mother linked all of you together. Elena saw that as an opportunity to kill you."

"...Even... Even when my siblings have not done anything to her?"

"You tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now."

"You told me we had until after nine."

"I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early."

"Ariel, go find your sister. Go home and stay there. We'll handle the rest."

Before Ariel leaves, she begins to apologize to the brothers. "I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. You knew nothing of it and neither did Caroline. She was just as confused as I was. And as a bonus you undaggered Kol."

"He's right. We'll check on you after everything is settled."

"Be careful, got it?"

"Of course."

"Always."

Ariel walks away and finds her sister next to her car in the parking lot. Caroline sees Ariel coming up to her and hugs her.

"Hey, are you okay? What's going on?"

"I'm fine. It's Elena having made the stupidest decision. She gave Esther some of her blood so she could link the originals together. If one of them dies, they all die. Elena saw it as the opportunity to kill Klaus."

"Seriously? Didn't Elijah try to help her? Kol and Finn haven't even done anything to her! And Rebekah only attacked her because she daggered her."

"I know... Come on, let's go home. I think Klaus will come see us after they fix things."

Later that night, the sisters learn that Esther and Finn got away. Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah and Kol are still alive but Bonnie's mom was forced to become a vampire by Damon as they needed to sever the witch line that Esther was drawing power from. The sisters had rush to Bonnie's home to provide support and comfort that she needs.

Ariel holds a crying Bonnie but hears Caroline talking to someone at the front door.

"She doesn't want to see you."

"Please just let me talk to her."

"Abby's in transition. It's going to be really hard over the next few days and if Bonnie needs some time to deal then I think you should give it to her."

Ariel realizes who it is and promises Bonnie she will be right back. She stands beside her sister. "What are you doing here?"

"She always been there for me. Let me be there for her too."

"See that's the problem, Elena! I warned you not to do anything stupid! I told you to let it go!"

"Elena, put yourself in her shoes. Everything that happened tonight was to save you. Again. She's always the one who gets hurt. Even Ariel."

"How could you do that? Link the siblings together just to kill Klaus?"

"I just wanted him dead, I-"

"No matter what it cost the rest of us?!"

Caroline goes to stand in front of Elena. "I know you hate Klaus for what he did to Jenna but... Elijah always tried to help you. Rebekah only went after you because you pretended to care and daggered her in the back. Kol and Finn just got here and they haven't done anything to you. Are you okay with becoming a murderer, Elena?"

"Damon, Stefan and Alaric used me and Caroline, you know? Without our knowledge. To distract Kol and Klaus. I was having a great time with Kol, getting to know him. Next thing I know, Alaric daggers him. They were trying to take the siblings out just so that they could save you... Do you know how much that hurts? Being used by people who I trust?"

"Care, Ari... I-I'm so sorry."

"Don't bother, I don't want to hear it."

Ariel heads back into the house and Caroline goes to follow her as Elena tearfully asks, "How do I fix this?"

Caroline turns back to her, "You can't."

Late at night as the Bonnie and Caroline sleep, Ariel is still awake. She receives a text from Kol. It reads "I had a great time darling, hope we can do it again. Thanks for undaggering by the way and sweet dreams, hopefully of me (;" Ariel smiles and finally goes to sleep.
