Aria's POV

When I saw his molecular structure pulling back together so quickly, I knew I didn't stand a chance of beating him. Now he knew how much power he could use to destroy me, and I barely had enough power left for another planetary strength shockwave to hold him off. All I could do was try.

The huge red planet behind him was a bit distracting...

Flashes of memories... Oh God, this was the last one... I had killed them all! The whole civilization... They attacked with advanced technology... I didn't care.

Shaking myself mentally, I turned my focus back on his floating figure which was not as bright as usual, right outside the atmosphere of the planet...floating

Circling wide and to the side, my core spun wildly gearing up to destroy him. The power built up and quickly was released by my core in another huge shockwave that pushed me back a bit. Just before the shockwave blew apart his molecules, I'd seen it. A thin thread of white that could barely be seen, trailed back somewhere behind me. My mistake...

What I had just used most of my core power on was a mirror image of Xavier. Made from his own molecules. My core had slowed down and my abilities to keep my molecules cohesive seemed to be dwindling by the minute. Turning around, Xavier was right behind me.

Unable to move very well, I still summoned some power into a ball in my hand, an effort in futility.

He regarded me carefully while his molecules regrouped, and slowly began to circle around my human-like form with his own. The gravity center of his black hole tugged at mine and I threw the ball of power at him trying to stop the power of the gravity but he just knocked it away easily. The Merging had begun.

The human DNA that had merged with my own made me fight back. With the little amount of core power I had left, I propelled back out toward Earth as his molecules began to touch mine our black holes spun faster and faster. The more the gravity pulled our cores together Purplish blue light surrounded us both as we surrendered to our cores and took on our natural forms.

Just as our cores touched, a blinding white light began to shine like a long white bolt of lightning that only grew in size. That was when I saw Earth again...Richard. Oh God! I don't want to die! But the gravity could not be stopped. My core was hungry so I let it take and take all the power that Xavier could spare and at the time when even our very molecules were being brought together, our black holes merged and became one.

The Entity's POV
Ten hours later...

I can't really say how long I had been floating above the planet, only that I was here, and alone. The stars surrounded me and at times it seemed as if they almost winked at me...

Time passes and I get hit in the head by a metal contraption with the letters N A S A on it. For some reason, the letters seem familiar to me, though I can't say why. Carefully I examine myself and come to realize that there is foreign DNA mixing with my own.

This metal thing, the DNA, and this planet, are they connected? Seeing the ion trail left behind by the metal thing, I approach the atmosphere at an angle leaving an ion trail behind me, which also seems oddly familiar. I don't know where I'm going, only that I have a vague sense of where not to go. Masking my molecules, I allow myself to fall to the earth.

Richard Weston's POV

Staring at the monitors, we all sat on the edges of our seats as photograph after photograph revealed how Aria was having to fight Xavier which she did all the way up until her own core seemed like it was flickering out. The tremendous amounts of power used...I can't even imagine...

Seeing them merge filled me with rage because I knew that she didn't want it. Though it was also one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. One. With all the brilliance of light and swirling color... extraordinary. Then suddenly, there was nothing. No light, no core, no Aria, nothing.

Stepping outside and down to the dried grass, I looked to the sky and wondered where my Aria was. Rolling up the sleeves of my tuxedo jacket, I opened up the top few buttons of my shirt. I felt numb. I didn't want to accept that this was it. It couldn't be...

Without even turning around I could feel them staring at my back from up in the truck. There was the crunch of gravel and I knew one had stepped down. "You know son, there's always the possibility that she is just in her natural dark form, so we don't see her." John Mayfair mused quietly. As he walked up to my side and placed his hands on his hips.

"Tell me again John, how long has it been since Hubble shot the last picture of her?" I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, the emotions flooding me. "We would have seen movement, anything! She would not have just left me hanging like this!"

"Uh...John? This may or may not be related, but we have a fix..." We both looked at the young twenty-something year-old technician that had been showing us the pictures of Aria. "...it's on another ion trail that has just entered the atmosphere."

Letting go of John's shirt, I stepped toward the kid. "Just tell me... Is it's trajectory Lousiana?" I gulped, almost afraid to hope.

Scratching his head, the kid frowned slightly. "Uh, yeah. How did you know?"

Feeling excited I yelled past John to Roarke, Janos, and Gabriel. Hey guys! Get your lazy carcasses outta there! We are off to just north of Natchitoches, Lousiana. A place called Calhoun Manor." Looked back to John and smiled. "It's where I first met her. You wanna come? Cause if so, you are gonna have to ditch the trucks."

John smiled with the excitement of a kid. "Thought you'd never ask. I'm in!"

Within less than an hour, we were stocked with supplies and speeding on down the interstate. Thank God, it was a night where the cops were too busy to stop the silver SUV.
