Chapter 35: Plans

Gabriel Black's POV

Having run to the other side of the estate, I peeked around to watch the exchange between Aria and the other entity. When I saw her molecules spread out, and then reconfigure with such a 'look' on her face, I knew we all had trouble coming our way. Inching my way out of there, I took off running.

I picked up my phone from my jacket pocket and paused before I called up Roarke the filthy Lycan, back in Arkansas. Placing the phone up to my ear, it was a while before he picked up.

"What the fuck do you want Gabriel?" He growled into the phone. Typical...

"The werewolves and lycans still support Aria, right?" I asked quickly as the world around me became a blur.

"Of course we do. Janos and his kind too. What exactly is this all about?" By the tone of his voice, he was getting frustrated and lycans tend to do.

"Roarke, the supernaturals have to band together now to support Aria. Another of her kind has shown up and it looks like all hell might break loose. Get Janos and the shapeshifters, I'm on my way to the same Marriot Hotel as we speak. Other supes will be arriving too. Right now, all I can assume he left but will return at any time." I finished, trying to keep things as brief as possible.

"Oh fuck! Another? Is it as strong as her, or what?" Roarke questioned, and I would have too.

"Maybe stronger. It arrived in a male-like form. But I'm not sure. So We need to gather EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE, for this. So spread the word ASAP." It was the best answer I could give him at the moment since I didn't stick around.

"Alright. I gotcha Gabriel. We'll meet you there." Then he hung up. Fucking rude lycan. Though he's probably getting busy calling everyone like I am. Still... I hate rudeness.

Putting my phone away in my suit's jacket pocket, I concentrated on my speed to get to the Marriot as fast as I am able.

Roarke's POV
(Marriot Hotel, Little Rock, Arkansas)

Sitting in my hotel room after making as many calls as I could, plus texting messages, I still felt awe over the thought of another entity like Aria having come here. Especially since Aria had thought she was one of a kind. Why was it here? What did it want from Aria? All kinds of thoughts and questions ran through my mind.

Though the thoughts about uniting all the supernatural... Wow, what an undertaking this was going to be.

My phone started ringing again, in my outstretched hand. Looking at the screen I groaned and turned it on raising it to my ear. "Yeah?"

"So I hear you need the help of the shapeshifters, brother?" Just from the tones in his voice, I could tell Jonas was smirking. Standing upright, I began pacing the small room.

"Now isn't the time for our personal bullshit. I need to get the word out to the groups of shapeshifters all over the states." I paused, sighing deeply. "Aria might be in some possible trouble with a being exactly like herself. Well kinda... She gives a shit about this damn world, but he/she remains indifferent. If she can't stop him/it from doing bad shit, we ALL gotta be there to back her up. Even Gabriel is involved." It was best not to tell him it was Gabriel who called considering the losses the shapeshifters had in the skirmish here.

"Since it's Aria, fine. How soon do you need us mobilized?" Janos turns all business-like, I'd have expected no less from him.

"ASAP. We don't know when that motherfucker's going to be back." The agitation was showing in my voice as I kept growling on and off, plus cursing.

Jan's was silent for a few moments. "Brother?" He asked soothingly.

"Yeah?" I almost snapped back at him.

"Should we be prepared for the worst?" That stopped me for a moment as I stared down at the blue carpet at my feet.

Closing my eyes, I pinched myself at the bridge of my nose feeling a migraine headache coming on. The lycan in me whined, "The very worst. Just don't tell them." With that said, I hung up the phone.

Eighteen hours later...

Gabriel Black's POV
(Marriott Hotel, Little Rock Arkansas)

Ahhh... Back in Little Rock. It's a nice little town, though far beneath my usual standards. Humans walking here and there, going about their boring little lives.

Before going to the Hotel, I went to the Blood Reserve and bought nine pints so I could feed on my way there, without being so grumpy. As the small crate was passed to me the human female smiled... I see. A blood bag working at a place like this, looking for a new vampire to feed on her from time to time. I gave her the Hotel name and mine, I'll be seeing her again soon, I'm sure.

Checking into the hotel went smoothly. My suite of rooms I can actually say I approve of. Black lacquered tables and white leather couches. With thick light grey carpeting and navy blue painted walls. Otherwise, nice and dark. Except for the white ceiling. Walking to the refrigerator, I set pint after pint on the shelves and closed it up. Moving to the couches, I noticed they were triple tier cushions as I sat down... Heaven.

Taking out my phone, I called Roarke and put the phone to my ear. "Is everyone here, or at least on the way?" I asked quietly feeling the tiredness sinking in.

"Yeah. Janos is here, plus there members of the east and west packs." Through the phone, I could hear kids splashing in the water of the pool. He sounded as tired as I was.

Sighing deeply, I leaned back against the couch and closed my eyes. "Good. Tomorrow I have a huge conference call to set up. First with Gerald Rainy of the CIA, but also with Gerald Owens the too Director at FBI Headquarters. I'll be needing everyone here for that call."

"Gabriel, how are a couple of government spooks going to be able to help with all this?" He growled in frustration.

"They are the ones that will get us General Raymond Southland of the Department of Defense. He hears the situation and can bring The President in on the line. Humans may be weak but they have weapons we don't. Get me?" My voice had raised a bit near the end.

"Oh fuck, Gabriel you are actually going to pull out all the stops, aren't you? Holy shit!" The excitement in his voice was contagious, as I could feel my heart flutter a little.

"Yes, I am finally laying all my cards on the table. Well, human-wise at least. Get some rest. I plan to as soon as we are done with the call."Yawning, I listened through the phone and could hear nothing but deep even breathing.

Before I knew it, I'd fallen asleep on the phone too. But with dreams of glowing beings and the destruction of the world that we live in.
