Phils POV
Dan fell asleep in my arms. He had such a rough night. I wanted to cry every time he did. I have no idea about memories that will now haunt him forever. I saw Chris, Pj, Zoella, and Alfie. We didn't know Alfie too well, but he was dating Zoella so he came.
"So how's Dan today?" Zoella asked. Dan has been in the hospital for nearly 10 days. He woke up for the first time yesterday.
"He woke up last night..." I said in a soft voice. I had no energy because of this.
"Phil buddy we got you Starbucks." Chris said trying to be uplifting. Pj handed me the coffee. I sipped at it while they talked to me. Half of it I didn't understand.
   The nurse came down. She had he clipboard and her usual smile.
"Alright Dan is awak. You can go see him now."
She spoke with such happiness. We all raced upstairs to find Dan sitting on his bed. He stared out his window.
At first the room was silent. No one knew what to say.
"Hey, Phil?" I heard. It was faintly a whisper, but it sounded crystal clear. Dan pulled me near him. Did he speak?
"Dan?"
"I'm scared. I messed this all up." He whispered. I don't know why he didn't talk loudly, but I was just happy he's talking.
"What Dan? That's crazy. This isn't your fault."
"Phil if I had just..." his voice trailed off. I felt bad for him. No one, especially not Dan, deserves to suffer through this.
"Does he know, that I'm here?"  Dan asked even more quietly than before. All the others sat down by his bed as we spoke. We were apparently entertainment to them.
"Dan, who?" I asked. He said nothing. He's leaned on my shoulder and I held him in my arms again.
"Dan you may think we are here out of pity. We are not. Dan we came because we care about you. Whatever happened you can tell us." Pj told him softly. Zoe and Chris agreed with them. Dan shook his head.
"I can't tell you. He'll get me." Dan muttered. He his his face in the crook of my neck. I eyed Chris and Pj. Zoe and Alfie eyed each other the same way we looked. All of us thought the same thing.

Whoever this terrible asshole is, maybe this wasn't his first time hurting Dan.
