"Hey, are you lost?" Ji Woo asked whilst Seo Hyun threw her backpack over her shoulder.

"No," she replied flatly. How could I admit that I lost my keys? Embarrassed, Seo Hyun wiped her eyes with the sleeves of her coat and shifted her eyes away from Ji Woo.

He sighed, running his chalky fingers through his hair. "Come." He put a hand on her back, steering her away from the street and to the black gate Seo Hyun had desperately tried to open. Ji Woo slid his hand in the pockets of his coat and took out a set of keys. He rattled it through the gate, unlocking it with ease.

Seo Hyun could only watch and stare in sheer astonishment. "No way..." she trailed off, frozen in place. So this is why the place looked so familiar she thought, remembering the incident in the morning.

"Hey, are you coming or what?" Ji Woo called over his shoulder, sending Seo Hyun an annoyed look. She nodded, and carefully entered the property. Ji Woo watched her from the bottom of the stairs, hands folded over his chest as he waited for her to follow.

If this truly is my house... Seo Hyun reached for the keys in her coat and cautiously moved towards a familiar black door standing on the ground floor of the building. "Aish, hey! Are you gonna act like you don't know where I live?" Ignoring Ji Woo, she thrust her keys through the door, and it creaked open to her surprise. "What?" Ji Woo gaped at her, dumbfounded.

"You... You're my neighbor? That's impossible! " Ji Woo remarked as he advanced to Seo Hyun. "Unless..." He gave her a disturbing look, squinting his eyes in suspicion.

"Ah, you must've stolen these keys as a way to--"

"No you crazy bastard! I live here you idiot!" Seo Hyun yelled, crossing her arms over her chest. "I didn't even know someone rented the top floor!"

"Then how did you end up at my house this morning, hmm?"

"I'd like to ask you the same thing, perhaps you kidnapped me? Did you drug me, huh? This is probably your way of washing your hands since I don't remember anything at all." Seo Hyun began to accuse, poking his chest. Ji Woo stumbled back, wide-eyed.

He squinted his eyes at her, confused. "Do you seriously not remember how you appeared there?" Ji Woo asked, unconvinced himself.

"No! Why don't you tell me? How did I appear there?" Nothing made sense to neither of them, it was like solving a picture using broken puzzle pieces; nothing would fit.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Ji Woo breathed out, shaking his head before turning around to leave.

Seo Hyun carried her tray to the table where her co-workers were sitting, and took a seat beside Dr. Jong. "Thank you for covering my rotations last Tuesday, and I'm so sorry that you had to do that." Seo Hyun bowed her head in gratitude, feeling flustered in front of her senior.

From the corner of her eye, she could see Dr. Kim nudging Ae Ra with a smug look settling on his face. Seo Hyun clenched her teeth, scowling at them before Dr. Jong let out a warm chuckle, patting Seo Hyun's head. "Don't worry about that Dr. Min, I'm glad you're okay. I was worried since you've never been late before."

"Ah, about that..." She scratched her head, not sure how to explain that. "Shall we have lunch?" She grabbed her chopsticks, changing the topic as everyone agreed.

"I'm never going on duty during night time, my back is sore!" Dr. Kim whined, stuffing his face with Sundae (Korean Blood Sausages).

"Ah, you keep on saying that but you're always on call during night time," Seo Hyun reprimanded, pointing at him with her silver chopsticks.

"Ae Ra, I've heard something went wrong with Dr. An. Is she alright?" Dr. Jong questioned, sipping on the stew. Ae Ra widened her beady eyes and nodded her head furiously at his statement.

"Mhmm, yes Dr. Jong. A prosecutor and his investigator came here two days ago to retrieve the evidence from Dr. An. But she's saying there was a mixup, and the evidence could be with someone else," Ae Ra remarked, the distress clear in her voice. "Ugh, this is my fault. I knew I should've taken care of it myself."

"Really?" Dr. Kim gave her a worried look. "That doesn't sound good." Seo Hyun scrunched up her eyebrows, concerned as well. What? The bullet got lost? How is that possible? "Oh, Dr. Min weren't you the one who conducted the operation?" Dr. Kim curiously asked her, and everyone's attention was directed to her.

"Oh?" Seo Hyun was too caught up in her thoughts she forgot about Dr. Kim. "Ah yes," she replied meekly. Everyone at the table stared at her without a word, as if she knew where the bullet went. "Ah stop staring at me, it's not like I know where the evidence is." Seo Hyun fidgeted in her seat, uncomfortable under their stare.

"Ah, this means I have to fill in so much paperwork about the report." Seo Hyun scowled, slamming her chopsticks on the table and massaged her temples to relieve herself of a stinging headache. She whisked her hand up and decided her small break would end here. "I'll go ahead of you guys, if I start early perhaps I won't need to do overtime."

"Aish, all doctors say that. It always ends up in overtime," Dr. Kim grunted, mouth stuffed with sausages. Seo Hyun shook her head, and she laughed before leaving. If only Dr. Kim wasn't telling the truth.

She strolled down the hallways, making her way towards her first patient's room to check on them. Rounding the corner, she promptly spun back and pressed her back against the wall. Him again? No way... Why do I keep running into you?

"What am I going to do? The trial is in two days, and the evidence isn't sufficient enough for Eunho to indict him!" Ji Woo paced around the wide hallway with a cellphone pressed to his ear. "I'm trying. They said it might take days." There was a long pause before Ji Woo stopped in his tracks, and exhaled in frustration. "Yes, I will. Ok, bye." After ending the call, he walked off, avoiding Seo Hyun as she raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

She watched him disappear in the sea of busy hospital staff and tilted her head to the side, Why does he seem to be in such distress? Aish, nevermind. I shouldn't be concerned. Seo Hyun then continued her way through the other direction to visit her patients.

"Doctor, I heard there were complications with the surgery." The patient sat up in his bed and eyed Seo Hyun as she popped open a pill bottle.

"What?" Seo Hyun set down the bottle and poured water onto a glass. "No, not at all. The operation was successful and--"

"No, I heard the bullet you extracted had disappeared. Is that true?" Seo Hyun ignored his anxious stare, and let out an uncomfortable laugh to ease the tension hanging in the air.

"Ah yes, I don't think I can clearly explain what happened, but I think it will all be sorted out." Seo Hyun handed a couple of tablets to the man. "You should drink this every 6 hours to relieve your chest pain," she stated, and stood by to watch him willingly take the medication.

"Doctor, I hope you'd be able to find it right away. The trial is in two days and it's important that the suspect gets prosecuted," he remarked after downing his drink and passing the empty glass to Seo Hyun. She stayed silent as she picked up a folder and scribbled down a couple of notes, documenting the current state of her patient.

"What exactly happened? Was the man who shot you really the serial killer currently on the run?" Seo Hyun questioned, the case piquing her interest.

"No... Not yet at least. The man who shot me was a mutual friend. After hearing the news about the serial killer he got... inspired I guess is the right term. I saw it coming, all the red flags..." The man trailed off, shaking his head. "One day he was about to head out early morning and I noticed he was armed with a pistol, I decided to follow him out of concern and confronted him outside the apartment complex. Ultimately though, I got shot outside in the parking lot. Luckily, our neighbor called the police and he was brought in as the prime suspect since he was present at the crime scene." Seo Hyun nodded slowly, intrigued by the man's story. So he wasn't the real serial killer, but a wannabe?

"You're awake though, hasn't the prosecutor visited to hear your statement? Your testimony would be enough to prosecute the criminal without the need of the bullet." The man dropped his gaze and sighed in response.

"Yes, it was the investigator who interrogated me. I was even given a picture and identified him in a heartbeat. There's just one problem." Seo Hyun put down her pen, and she sent the man a suspicious look. "My statement probably won't mean anything and won't be considered as evidence."

"Hmm? Why?"

"I've been professionally diagnosed with schizophrenia, so if the defending side would take that into consideration, the judge may disregard my statement." The man stared off into the distance of the window, but then snapped his head at Seo Hyun with pleading eyes as if he was desperately begging for something.

"It's important you find the bullet. If it matches the pistol, he would definitely be indicted. If they let him go, who knows if he'd be the next notorious serial killer on the run?" Seo Hyun said nothing and grimaced. She didn't want to make promises she didn't think she was sure to keep. This is a real problem, isn't it? Ah, what am I to do?

"Don't worry Mr. Kwon, I'll do my best." Seo Hyun reassured with a comforting smile curled on her lips.

"Ughhh I can't believe I have to cover for you," Seo Hyun whined to Dr. Kim, pouting her lips and crossing her arms over her chest as she spun around in her office chair.

"Please, just this once," Dr. Kim replied, shrugging off his lab coat and grabbing his coat from the hook. "It's the 57th day anniversary of me and my girlfriend, I can't miss this date." Seo Hyun sneered in disgust, sending Dr. Kim an annoyed look.

"Fine, but you owe me!" Seo Hyun called out to him as he strolled out of her office. Seo Hyun shook her head to herself and reviewed all the paperwork Dr. Kim handed to her.

I might as well just submit my medical report while I'm on it Seo Hyun plopped down on a chair and began typing away on her computer.

After a couple of hours had passed by, Seo Hyun stretched her arms up to the air and yawned, the sleepiness beginning to dawn upon her. She stood up from her seat and took the paperwork sitting on her desk, and then exited the office.

Seo Hyun passed by the busy halls that echoed with the voices of staff through the intercom and the muffled sound of patients chattering away. She headed for the west wing, which was more hushed than the location of her office.

Why can't I work in this area? Ji Su must be so lucky... She lightly tapped on the door to Ji Su's office, receiving no response. "Ji Su? It's Seo Hyun, I have the medical--" She twisted the doorknob and was cut off when she was greeted with the emptiness of her colleague's office.

She rose an eyebrow as she scanned the dark office which held an ominous ambiance to it. Seo Hyun didn't bother to switch the lights on, and reluctantly approached Ji Su's desk. She placed her medical report beside the computer only to realize she forgot to arrange her report. "Ah, it's loose. Ji Su wouldn't mind if I borrow her stapler I guess," Seo Hyun mumbled to herself as she began looking through her desk for a stapler.

Seo Hyun began opening drawers, searching for a stapler. Goodness, can this girl get any messier?

As she pulled open the third drawer, Seo Hyun jumped back, surprised by the sight in front of her. "What is this?" Seo Hyun furrowed both her eyebrows at the tiny object sitting in the corner of the otherwise hollow drawer.

A shiny copper bullet was left astray in the lonely corner. It reflected the moonlight as if it was challenging her with a sharp stare. A thrill of goosebumps ran down her arms as she staggered back, intimidated by the shiny bullet locked inside a ziplock bag.

Seo Hyun, who was confused and dumbfounded, gathered her courage and neared the drawer. She picked up the ziplock bag from the drawer and inspected it carefully. Her mind momentarily flashbacked to the surgery; to when she pulled the bullet out of the man's chest.

"No way..."

Seo Hyun couldn't believe it. Her train of thoughts was all over the place and she couldn't concentrate on anything. Her stare flickered between the medical report sitting on the desk, and the bag in her hands.

Seo Hyun had made a decision. She shoved the bullet into the pocket of her lab coat, and grabbed her medical report from the desk before storming out of the office.

"Aish." Ji Woo stood up from his chair, aggressively pulling at his disheveled hair. He sighed out of frustration, and fixed his eyes on the messy desk stacked with mountains of paperwork and reports. "No CCTVs, witnesses or reliable evidence, how can Eunho prosecute this bastard?" Ji Woo rubbed his temples as he shook his head disapprovingly. He walked out of his room, deciding to grab a glass of water to cool off his hot head.

The doorbell suddenly began to ring throughout the whole apartment, alarming Ji Woo as he filled up his glass with ice-cold water.

He arched an eyebrow in curiosity while still keeping his stance. He strode to the living room, setting his glass on the coffee table before moving towards the door.

Ji Woo swung the door open, revealing Min Seo Hyun. She stood there with doe eyes and an anxious look. "You, what are you doing here?" Ji Woo flicked his wrist and it read 5:03 am. No way, I stayed up all night working on this stupid case?

"Hey! That's no way to talk to your neighbors!"

"That's if you're even my neighbor." Seo Hyun raised her fist at Ji Woo, sending him a threatening look. That crazy... Ji Woo didn't look the least affected and looked down at her with a disgusted face.

Seo Hyun lowered her fist and sighed out of frustration. "Look Mr. Park, I just came to help you. You don't know the trouble I went through to attain this." Seo Hyun bent down to pick up the box she had been holding earlier and handed it to him.

Ji Woo wore a puzzled look on his face as he scrutinized the box. He brought it to his ear and shook it to determine the contents. "It can't be food, right? I don't believe you can cook Dr. Min."

Seo Hyun folded her arms over her chest and arched an eyebrow at Ji Woo. "Hey, you'll be worshipping the ground I walk on once you open that box. Just you wait..." Seo Hyun stopped herself and strained a smile on her face. "I'll be going, Mr. Park. I have other things to catch up on." Like all the lost sleep I had from rewriting my whole medical report and getting it approved by my boss in one night, then monitoring over 10+ patients that aren't even mine! You better be grateful you psycho!

"Have a nice day," Seo Hyun greeted as she bent down for a polite bow before swiveling around, desperate to rush into the comforting arms of her house.

Tch, what a crazy lady Ji Woo retreated back, shutting the door after him. After placing the box on the coffee table beside his glass of water, he grabbed a knife from the kitchen before swiftly heading back to the living room.

Ji Woo sat on the couch and laid the box on his lap. "She better not be a Russian spy and plan to kill me with poisoned delicacies," Ji Woo murmured to himself whilst he carefully pierced the box with the knife. After successfully cutting through the box, he flung the knife across the table and eagerly opened the box like a little boy opening presents on Christmas day.

He tossed the styrofoam over his shoulder, and when he looked down at the contents of the box his eyes widened like they were about to pop out of their sockets.

"No way..." Ji Woo's hand flew right over his mouth, the room was so still and silent that he could hear the sound of his heart pounding in his chest echoing throughout the room.

As if Ji Woo had been pulled back into reality, he raced back to the box and quickly pulled out a ziplock bag that contained something better than poison. The copper bullet reflected the awakening rays of sun that streamed through the window, and glistened as if it was happy to see him. Ji Woo laid it down and his hands shakily fished for what else was inside the box.

He took out a thick stack of neat papers from the box and placed it on his lap. He slid his thumb against the pages and scanned through the document in awe. Ji Woo sat there, astonished, almost sure he was going to scream once again to pour out all the anxiety bottled up inside his chest.

"This is too much of a dream to be real..." How could such a crazy woman somehow be the first person to make my day? He flipped through the pages of Seo Hyun's report, and then his eyes shifted to the bullet sitting on the table.

"Yet, this feels too real to be a dream."
