~Chapter 5~

Well fuck me sideways and call me Mike. After nearly ten years, I ran into Takashi Hyoumada. He was wearing, grey and black Nike shoes, black jeans, and a black hoodie. We locked eyes, it was almost like having a staredown. His apple-green eyes held a stern yet surprised look. Rachel let out a fake cough, causing me and Takashi to look away.

"I'm sorry Takashi, I should've been paying attention."

I wasn't sure what else to say, I mean it's been nine years.

"It's fine, I can just wash the hoodie." He replied.

"Getting a tad uncomfortable so I'll jump in, Takashi, as you now know Jane's in town. Jane, as you can tell Takashi still lives here. You can shake hands or something." Rachel said.

We shook hands, which reminded me of when we first met, except more awkward. I think we both decided to shake hands because if we didn't, we would be standing here awkwardly for a while.

"I'll go and buy you two drinks." Rachel said before walking away.

"So, what have you been up to after all these years?" I asked, trying to start some kind of conversation.

"I've had my Dojo opened for nearly five years now. What about you?" Takashi said.

"Four years ago I graduated from University and today I moved back here," I replied. "Do you also teach at your Dojo?"

"Yes, I teach along with Skylar and I hired a guy named Tyler three months ago." He replied.

"You seem to be doing a pretty good job for twenty-seven. I'm finally getting my life to be stable." I said jokingly.

We both gave a small laugh at the joke that's pretty much true. The false part about the joke is that my life still isn't together. Then, we both saw Rachel coming back with two drinks.

"Takashi, your usual. Jane, the one I got you earlier." Rachel said as she passed out her drinks.

I almost got confused but then I remembered that neither of them moved away so it makes sense. We all kind of stood in that spot for two minutes just in silence and sipping our drinks.

"We should probably get going Rachel." I finally said.

"Yeah, you're right," Rachel replied.

"Well, Takashi it was nice to see you again after all these years. We should meet up and talk again." I said. "Do you still have my number?"

He shook his head no. I start to search for a pen or pencil but to no avail. But my night in shining amour, Rachel handed me a pen she had. I found a piece of paper in my pocket and wrote down my number.

"Here, if you ever want to catch up or just hang out text me," I said and gave him the paper.

"Also, here's a cookie for the whole spilling the entire cup of Jane's drink on your hoodie." Rachel said and handed Takashi a cookie she had in her pocket.

"Sorry about that again," I said.

After that, we all said our goodbyes and left. What an interesting day, I must say. I thought running into Takashi would be more awkward but surprisingly it was better than expected.

A/N: Thanks for reading!! Sorry about the slow updates, just know I'm trying to get better at that. Have a great day!! ❤❤
