~Chapter 3~
I shake the sleeping man next to me excitedly as I finally get to see my home town. After nearly ten years I'm finally moving back. I didn't realize I would miss this place until I moved away to university. Moving was hard since I had to leave behind my whole life but I don't regret leaving anymore, I made my life even better.
I did get homesick and almost moved back home until I had a blast from the past. I saw Damon again, it wasn't like we were friends but we have met and he talked me out of moving. Four years later we started dating and then three years later he proposed. Now we thought to move somewhere more familiar and start a life here. We thought about moving to the city where he grew up but we figured more familiar faces we be better.
"What is it?" Damon asked, his voice sounded groggily and deep.
"We finally made it!" I cheered
"I can't believe it. All those hours and we made it!" He cheered with me.
We passed the sign the read. After the sign was passed we cheered again and Damon kissed me on the cheek.
"After visiting here so many times I never thought I would get to live here." He said.
Turning on the radio, we sang the songs and laughed for the rest of the trip. The rest of the trip only took twenty minutes and we arrived at Rachels's house. We were going to stay at my parents' house but once Rachel heard we were moving she insisted we stay at her house. I would've said no to her but she made it seem living together would be exciting so I said yes. As I pulled into the driveway I spotted Rachel standing in the yard waving excitedly. Rolling my eyes with a smile I got out of the car.
"Jane! I can't believe you're actually here!" Rachel cheered as she tackled me with a hug.
"I can't believe it either, but here I am," I replied and hugged back.
I heard the other side of the car door close and saw Damon approach us.
"Rachel, you remember Damon. And Damon, you remember Rachel." I introduced.
Rachel let go of me to shake hands with Damon.
"Nice to see you again Rachel," Damon said and gave a smile.
"Nice to see you too," Rachel replied with a smile. "Are these all the boxes?"
"These are only a few of them, the rest will come next week," I replied.
We spent the next fifteen minutes unpacking all the boxes from the car to the attic.
"What do you guys want to do for the rest of the day?" Rachel asked.
"I was going to go meet up with an old friend to see if he could get me a job," Damon replied.
"You and I could just walk around town," I suggested to Rachel.
"Can I take the car?" Damon asked.
"Of course, don't stay out to late champ," I replied and tossed the keys at him, he caught them with only one hand.
Rolling his eyes at me, he kissed me on the cheek then left.
I waved goodbye as he drove away before turning to Rachel.
"Looks like you get to catch me up on all that I've missed," I said.
She nodded in agreement and we both got into her car. Not having an exact destination she just drove and didn't think much of the turns she took.
