Kaede Makes All the Kids Fucking Cry
(A/N: Before we start the chapter, one question. What do you think the chapter title means?)
It was silent at the PTA meeting with Shuichi staring at his phone, occasionally typing something.
Paul spoke up, "I thought Kaede was coming?"
Shuichi waved him off, "Three. Two. One."
Kaede kicked down the door to the cafeteria, with a keyboard strapped to her back, "WASSAP!"
Shuichi stood up and walked over. Kaede ran over and tackled him in a hug.
"Ah! It's been so long! Tell me everything!" Kaede squealed.
"Kaede, it's only been a month."
"A month too long!"
Kaede glanced past Shuichi to her former classmates, "I haven't seen you guys in a while either! How are you?"
Kiyomi ran over, "Auntie Kaede!"
Kaede giggled, picking her up and twirling, "Hi! How are you?"
Kiyomi smiled, "Great! You said you would teach more piano if I learnt the song you taught me, and I mastered it!"
Kaede laughed, "Of course you did!" She set Kiyomi down, walking over to Maki and Kaito, winking at Maki, "Heya! See you're still as beautiful as ever Maki!"
Maki rolled her eyes, "Shut up." Haruki looked confused.
"U-Um, who a-are you?" He asked, hiding behind his dad.
Kaede shot finger guns at him, "Kaede Akamatsu, former Ultimate Pianist! Social Anxiety, huh?"
Haruki nodded shyly, slowly hiding himself more. Kaede ruffled his hair and walked over to Rantaro and Korekiyo.
She wrapped her arms around both of their shoulders, "Ah, the Ultimate gay and the ultimate creep."
Korekiyo glared at Kaede. Rantaro pat him to make him stop. Katashi snorted. Kaede also placed a hand on his hair. Katashi quickly growled and tried to bite the hand.
"Jeez!" Kaede shouted, jumping back to Kokichi and Shuichi.
"Kata, no~!" Kiyomi whined.
"Shut it, Yomi."
"Guys, stop fighting!" Haruki pleaded.
"Shut up Ruki!"
"Eep!"
Kokichi placed a hand on Kiyomi's head, "No fighting."
Kaede stared at Kokichi, "And you. Y o u."
Kokichi blew a raspberry at her.
Linda took some papers out of a binder and handed it to Kaede, "Here are all the piano arrangements for the musical!"
Kaede lit up.
"It's not Heathers, Be More Chill, or Dear Evan Hansen," Shuichi muttered. Kaede pouted.
She took the papers and sifted through them, "Seems easy enough."
Kokichi looked at the papers, "Easy?!"
Kaede looked at him, "Yeah."
Kokichi looked at her in disbelief.
Linda pointed to a side room, "We need to talk, just the teachers and parents. Would you mind playing some piano for the kids in there?"
Kaede lit up, "Not at all! I love kids!"
She led all the kids, who looked very confused, to the room, taking the keyboard off her back.
Linda glared at Shuichi and the gang, "You're lucky there's a guest."
Shuichi thought for a moment, "Do you dislike Kaede?"
Paul gasped, "Not at all! How could you even suggest that?"
"Do you dislike homosexuals?"
Paul scoffed, "Of course."
"Shu, no-"
"Oh, that's a shame," Shuichi continued despite Kokichi's warning, "Cause Kaede Akamatsu is actually a lesbian."
The adults were shocked silent.
A melodic melody began to echo through the room.
"Anyways-"
They spent the next few minutes discussing other topics before they heard crying from the side room.
They all glanced at each other before Shuichi got up, walking over to the door.
He pushed it open, "Kaede?"
The kids were all crying, except for Katashi, who was calmly talking to Kaede, although he had tears in his eyes that were threatening to fall.
Shuichi blinked, "Kaede, what did you do?"
She glanced up at Shuichi, "I dun goofed. I played Kindergarden Boyfriend."
Shuichi stared at her, before facepalming, "Kaede, did you explain what happened before and after the song?"
"Yes?"
"Kaede, please, we can't keep doing this."
Katashi pointed at Shuichi, "If you don't cry at all during Kindergarden Boyfriend, you're a monster."
"I can't believe you actually know musicals," Kaede patted his head.
Katashi stared up at her, "I've never been able to talk about musicals with anyone before."
Wait, Heathers has cursing in it-
Shuichi brought up a point, "Actually, Rantaro knows Heathers."
Katashi stared at Shuichi, before literally lighting up.
"Ms. Akamatsu, play another song!" Kelly begged Kaede, tugging on her skirt.
Kaede looked at Shuichi, pleading silently.
Shuichi turned back to the adults. They all seemed confused.
Shuichi signed silently to Kokichi, 'I'm gonna sing comforting songs (probably from musicals) to the kids with Kaede.'
Kokichi nodded, turning back to the adults to translate.
Shuichi closed the door behind him.
--------------
A little while later, and Rantaro could hear crying coming from the door again.
He sighed, and excused himself to go check on them.
Rantaro walked into the room, straight into a scene where all the kids were crying again, most of them hugging each other or Kaede/Shuichi. Haruki was crying the most.
They both looked like they regretted something.
"What'd you guys do?" Rantaro sighed, leaning against the doorframe.
"So Kaede decided to play Kindergarden Boyfriend for the kids, which made them cry, so we started to play and sing uplifting songs from musicals, like For Forever, but we eventually got to Waving Through A Window, and here we are."
Rantaro sighed.
"I'll help."
"Yay!"
"Thanks."
-----------
More. Crying.
Maki glared at the door.
What was going on in there?
She stood up without saying anything and kicked open the door.
"You shine a light!~"
Kaede, Shuichi, and Rantaro all stared at Maki, desperation clear in their eyes.
The next verse came up.
Maki rolled her eyes, going along with the group.
"Shine, shine, shine a light!"
---------
The meeting was over, and Kokichi opened the door to the side room, "Guys, the meeting is ov-"
He paused. The adults were singing 'Good for You'.
They all stared at him as Evan's part came up. Apparently, Rantaro wasn't singing.
"Would that be good for you? You? You?"
And honestly, how could he resist?
"All I need is some time to think!"
-----------
Kaede waved goodbye as she walked away, "I'll be there for the auditions!"
Shuichi waved back.
"Well, that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be," Kokichi giggled.
Kiyomi stared at him, "Dad, everyone cried at least five times."
Kokichi shrugged.

One week later...
Kaito groaned, sinking into the bed.
Maki placed a cold towel on his head, "You're sick."
Haruki fiddled with his fingers from the doorway, "Are we still going to the meeting?"
The meeting was also going to be the auditions for the musical.
Maki had heard Haruki sing before. It was absolutely beautiful, maybe even better than Sayaka's singing voice, to say the least.
Maki thought for a moment, pulling out her phone and dialing a number. She held it up to her ear.
"Tenko, I'm cashing in a favor. Kaito's sick and we need someone to go to the PTA meeting."
"Of course! I wouldn't deny a girls request! I'm allowed to bring my amazing girlfriend and our best friend, right?"
Maki nodded, before remembering Tenko couldn't see her, "Yes. How long will it take to get here?
"About ten minutes. We're still up for our training later this week, right?"
"Of course. Thank you."
She hung up.
