Prologue

I remember waking up. Snow falling from above as well as surrounding me like cold, wet crystals. No life was near except for the naked trees and they definitely were no comfort. It was cold, very, very cold. I mean I knew it was meant to be cold... But I couldn't feel it. It had no effect on me. I also remember it being silent. So silent that in reality I could hear my heart drumming in my ears. The ambience was blood curdling but on the other hand there was something wondrous about it. The snow kind of reminded me of tiny falling stars, and was caught in my long lashes. I sat up trying to figure out where I was. But all I knew was that I was in the middle nowhere. A frozen lonely nowhere. I recall my sudden rush of fear. My confusion and bewilderment began to sink in. I was alone, possibly abandoned and left vulnerable. And suddenly at the point of panic someone called out my name. Actually there was no voice; I could just see the words appear in my mind. I had to close my eyes to really visualise them. The cold breeze was flying right through me and the words were somewhat... gentle

~Be still, remain calm. ~ The words said. And no it wasn't just my imagination. ~You're safe... now. ~ The words said and I fell back down while the comforting words played in my head. It took me a few moments to question what was telling me this. And few more moments of my life to figure it out, this were no person telling me. Nor my imagination so who did advise me to remain calm?

The wind... The wind told me.
