[Chapter 22] - Exoneration
(POV - 3RD)
Theresa was in pain, pain and regret that only grew by the second she tried to move as blood slowly leaked out from her as she tried to will her body to push herself up but only to fall back down painfully as the thorns have dug too deeply into her sides.
What's worst is the fact that the poison within those thorns have already seeped deep into her body and through her blood vessels and without any quick treatment, she may die soon.
She's poisoned and gaining a fever at the very second and (Y/N) is still inside dealing with the Herrscher by himself without any assistance, a thought which tormented Theresa conscience.
Her mind was in disorder, the pain only made it worse but she held enough consciousness to acknowledge someone cleaning and dressing her wound, her body was on the cold hard ground one moment and then the next, she was on a soft bed with a blanket covering her.
"I'm... still alive..? Where... am I?" Theresa thought as she suddenly gained enough strength to open her eyes, stinging her vision as it adjusted to her surrounding.
"Don't move, the poison inside your body has not been expelled yet, you will only risk opening your wounds again." A female voice softly warned.
"Who... are you..?" The Principal asked, breathing heavily as her fever caused her senses to blur, only seeing a hazy figure in front of her, holding a bowl of medicinal broth.
"I'm..." The woman began, hesitating as her voice alone betrayed the nostalgia, sorrow and hope within it before she continued.
"Yae Sakura."

==============================
Back at the ruined school of Senba High, the Archon continued dodging and weaving through the many thorny vines that threatened and attempted to pierce through him relentlessly.
(Y/N) was quick to retaliate, firing rounds from the M1911 continuously at the Herrscher who only batted them away or blocked with a wall of plants summoned at her will.
As far as the Einherjar could see, this back and forth fight only left them both at an impasse with him attacking and the Herrscher blocking and vice versa. He'll need to break the deadlock soon or he's the one who suffers.
Shifting into Empyrean Legacy? Not until he knows the entire coast is clear of witnesses save for the victim that is the Herrscher and Guizhong who has yet to see his form, Vago Mundo may be a better solution when it outputs less energy and power into the surrounding.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *CLICK* *CLICK*
"Tsk, no more ammunition, still got several arrows left..." (Y/N) muttered, storing away the M1911 as he drew the bow.
"Out of tricks? Little insect?" The Herrscher cooed mockingly with a grin as (Y/N) ignored her, nocking an arrow as he took aim.
"I could say the same to you always using the same attacks..." (Y/N) sneered lightly, letting go of the arrow which bolted at the girl.
"Beneath!" Guizhong warned and he leapt away from another stream of vines but the Herrscher wasn't done as more vines shot out.
(Y/N) avoided one only for another vine to shoot towards him which he quickly dodged again only to slowly realise the Herrscher was attempting to corner him as she led the attacks to usher him into the back of the classroom they stood in.
Even if he tried to move the other way through the vines to safer grounds, the Herrscher would only intercept him and force him to take another route which would only lead him back to the corner of the room but whether it was unfortunate or not, the Herrscher was not patient.
"TIME TO DIE!"
She quickly summoned a barrage of vines dripping with viscous poison before sending them towards the Einherjar like a hailstorm but the latter wasn't finished.
Thinking fast, (Y/N) took out the remaining grenades he held along with the flashbang before he pulled the pins, chucking them across the floor as the Herrscher immediately realised the growing threat and then wrapped rows of vines across herself.
Both bombs went off and the school itself shook as light blinded the entire room before the Archon made a mad dash out of the room but not after grabbing Oath of Judah which was left in place when Theresa was thrown out of the school.
(Y/N) sprinted into the corridor before he noticed the building itself shake with a greater tremor and then realised, the constant fractures and holes made by the attacking vines have caused the entire area of this part of the school to cave in and his grenades was the switch.
"Are you sure you want to carry that thing?!" Guizhong shouted, floating after (Y/N) as he held onto the giant cross while running.
"I am not going to dig through the rubbles to look for this thing!" Retorted the Archon as he heard the distant scream of the angered Herrscher.
"Also, Theresa will be pissed at me for losing her weapon!" (Y/N) added, leaping around falling debris as a torrent of vines began wrapping and snaking everywhere.
The Herrscher is clearly pissed off and she'll do anything to find (Y/N), even if it meant ripping the entire building apart which also meant the latter will need to take her out quickly in the school itself or take out from afar with his bow.
(Y/N) checked his arrows, the majority of them had been snapped or swatted aside when he shot them at the Herrscher but some managed to land a hit and unfortunately, that is the minority.
He quickly counted; just a few more arrows left, better make them worth the shots.
The Einherjar then ran around a corner and into another abandoned classroom, the windows having been blocked off by the wall of vines which prevented anything from escaping within without alerting the Herrscher.
(Y/N) ignored the corpses that were strewn all across the floor, holding his ear to the wall of the classroom and listening for any more tremors or increasing sounds that indicate the Herrscher's approach towards his location but thankfully for now, all is quiet.
He sighed before asking the anxious Guizhong floating near him.
"Alright... since you participated in a war before, can I ask for some pointers?"
"Truthfully speaking... I was more of a strategist than a combatant, Morax was the brawn and I was the brain but obviously, against enemies utilising the Dendro element, Pyro is your best bet or avoid the attacks and go straight for the source."
"What did Morax do in particular?" (Y/N) inquired.
"As I said, he was the brawn so he'd just plow through everything by throwing mountains at everyone who was an enemy although he did cut through several Dendro elemental attacks like these vines."
"Well, as much as I like to also throw a mountain at the Herrscher and end this entire farce right now, I'm not risking getting caught by Schicksal and becoming a lab rat." (Y/N) said.
"Schicksal... the organisation that you and Theresa are affiliated to?" Guizhong asked, not exactly ever asking the Archon who answered back.
"Although St. Freya is associated to Schicksal's main headquarters, it mostly functions as a completely independent faction like Anti-Entropy."
"However, the point is; I don't trust them." (Y/N) almost spat out that statement in contempt as Guizhong only looked at his expression, thinking better than to ask him.
"...I won't pry but I do believe it's best to focus on the predicament right now." She stated as the Einherjar silently agreed.
His issues can come later, there's a Herrscher needed to be exterminated right now and since the Goddess of Dust had stated to obviously use the Pyro element to fight back, the problem is the growing rate of how fast the Herrscher can fire out the vines.
Not to mention, all the poison within its thorns which he noticed to incapacitate Theresa just after a moment of weakness with her complexion was quickly worsening and her body staggering around before getting thrown out the window.
Perhaps it's also due to her short stature but he doesn't exactly know if poison or venom works like that in such a simplistic manner, still doesn't change the fact that the thorns are deadly.
"Pyro... where could I get fire in this place..? I could strike a gas pipe but without the school's schematics, I'm lost..." (Y/N) thought, tapping the wall before glancing at Guizhong.
"Wait a minute... Guizhong, you're an incorporeal spirit that can go through walls and all, correct?" The Archon clarified.
"Yes? Do you have a solution?" The said goddess asked.
"Go into the wall and look for a yellow pipe, it doesn't matter what size or where, tell me when you find one and maybe I could do this without going overboard." (Y/N) requested.
"Alright..." Guizhong murmured before literally disappearing into the building.
Meanwhile, (Y/N) kept a look-out for the target while making sure not to tread on any of the vines since he unfortunately does not possess any anatomical knowledge of a Herrscher so he isn't certain if the vines also act as an alarm or nervous system.
He then looked back at the Oath of Judah, half-admiring it and half-examining it while wondering if he could use it against the Herrscher as Theresa did but he thought against after a few seconds because firstly; he wasn't trained to use a Cross.
Secondly, he doesn't even begin to understand HOW exactly to use it and all he saw was Theresa slamming it into the ground before taking out a spear from within and that's about it... maybe he should go "you only live once" and swing it around like a flail.
(Y/N) sighed again as he placed a hand on the Oath of Judah, feeling around for any form of trigger that could activate it but he honestly saw or felt none that were indications of one.
"Forget it, I'll just put you somewhere safe..." (Y/N) said, knocking on the Divine Key before he heard a certain goddess returning from her scouting.
"I'm baaaauhhhh, what did you do this thing???" Guizhong then questioned much to the Archon's confusion before he turned to the Oath of Judah.
Which he subsequently did a double-take.
The once golden-lined cross with dark tone and red lines is now replaced by a fiery rich orange amber with the once red lines turned bright golden yellow as the insignia within the centre which bore the mark of the Kaslana had transformed into the Geo elemental symbol.
Overall, the Oath of Judah looked completely different and it's probably his fault.
"...I did not do anything, I swear." (Y/N) said after a few dumbstruck seconds.
"Then can you explain the waves of Geo energy emanating from it?" Guizhong questioned as she floated closer with a deadpan.
"...No..?" The Archon replied, remembering himself only knocking on it, hell it wasn't even a hard knock or anything! He just tapped it!
"Alright... then we can think about this another time but I managed to find several yellow pipes that you've described." Guizhong stated.
"Whereabouts?" (Y/N) asked as the spectral goddess led the way to the walls within a classroom whose state is also the same as the other classrooms.
"Within these walls, there's a small space between which has a cluster of ropes and similar pipes that you've said." She noted, pointing at certain spots.
"Ropes..? Oh, she must have meant cables and wirings- nevermind that but if I could trap the Herrscher inside here temporarily for at least a few seconds then I could blow it up..."
(Y/N) then walked up to the wall before he smashed it apart with no effort at all, ripping the bricks and drywalls away as he found the yellow pipelines lined up within.
"If the pipes are still active and taking in the possibility that the Herrscher may disregard the dangers of a lit gas pipe then I may be able to neutralise her without conspicuously using my elemental abilities and attracting unnecessary attentions." He thought quickly.
"Explaining it to Theresa or other authorities would give more of a leeway from revealing too much of myself as well." He added before he laid out his remaining arsenal.
One fragmentation grenade, three arrows, an emptied M1911, the Seishuu Muramasa he had lent to Theresa had been discarded during the battle and so in return, he has the Oath of Judah and not counting his elemental weapons gifted from Morax.
Then again, scratch off the Oath of Judah because he does not know how to use it so he'll have to make do with the grenade and remaining arrows but once again, he'll need a suitable way to see the Herrscher without the former seeing him first.
"What to do, what to do..?" (Y/N) thought before he glanced at the windows, catching sight of his own golden eyes reflecting back at him.
Reflecting... reflection... mirror!
"Did you think of something?" Guizhong asked, seeing the glint in his eyes.
"A mirror could help as long as she doesn't see it first and piece the plans together... well, if push comes to shove then I'll use Vago Mundo against her..." He said.
"Vago Mundo?" The goddess questioned curiously as (Y/N) walked out of the classroom, looking around for signs of the Herrscher but saw none.
The Einherjar quickly made his way to the restrooms of this floor before striding up to the mirrors and then smashing it hard with a rubble he'd picked up earlier, grabbing the large shards as he swiftly made his way around the corners of this floor, placing a shard each.
As for now, the classroom with the exposed pipes is the key location of which the Herrscher must be relocated to and using his last grenade, (Y/N) fashioned a tripwire out of a small bundle of wires he had ripped from the walls itself.
He'd also taken in the thought that the gas pipes were quite durable to break so he had carefully diminish the thickness of the pipes without dealing any excess damage to it so that the grenade can make a proper dent to the gas.
"Guizhong, can you also see where the Herrscher is at right now?" (Y/N) requested as he continued thinning the pipes.
"I will but what are you thinking of?" She asked, knowing whatever the Archon had in mind with the miniature bomb would be destructive.
"A massive mess that will mess up this building and hopefully the Herrscher herself." The Einherjar replied grimly.
"Then I hope you know what you're doing!" Guizhong stated, flying off to find the target.
==============================
Afar from where the Archon readied himself for a confrontation was cottage that housed one Theresa Apocalypse after being grievously injured and poisoned by the Herrscher, now being nursed by a pink-haired shrine maiden known as Yae Sakura.
"Kallen..." Came the sorrowful yet fond voice of Sakura as Theresa rested her head on her lap, a wet cloth draped over her forehead to cool her fever.
"Give up. Those who are poisoned by a Herrscher cannot possibly be saved." Came another voice, malevolent and harsh as Sakura looked up with a glare.
Unseen to the common eyes and standing in front of her was a phantom-like figure formed out of pure miasma to form a giant nine-tailed fox with glowing red eyes who gaze maliciously peered down on Theresa's form with contempt.
"Why even bother saving her? You don't mean to say that after 500 years, you've forgotten your sins as a monster who slew your own people." Spoke the phantom.
Its voice was anything but benevolent, making the young woman recall the tragedy shrouded in endless incarnations of life and death which only repeated itself.
"Or is it because her body has the smell of that woman... Kallen Kaslana?" The miasmic fox snarled as Sakura remained silent.
"STOP. DECEIVING. YOURSELF! That person has been long dead for 500 years. Humans cannot live as long as we do and you will always be alone! The only one who will stay with you forever is me and me alone."
Despite the fox's cruel words, Sakura still didn't say anything in return, her gaze was focused on and only on Theresa's sleeping face before the phantom spoke again.
"A new Herrscher was born near us just now. We must leave this place immediately otherwise we will get attacked as well."
"Not only does this place reek of that accursed woman, there is another presence befitting of a pretender, a faker that mimics our existence!"
Sakura still did not speak a word yet if her slightest narrowing of her eyes meant anything then she hid it well enough from the malevolent nine-tailed fox who snarled again.
"After we were defeated, our powers had decreased significantly. If we get attacked this time by a Herrscher or even that pretender, we will die for sure!"
Though the fox had raised several reasons to leave mostly out of self-preservation for its own life, Sakura still did not move or say anything much to the phantom's anger as it bared its fangs, opening its jaws over Theresa's neck which finally gained the latter's attention.
"!!!"
"Let me bite this brat's neck off and end her suffering!" The phantom snarled which Sakura returned with a snarl of her own.
"Get lost!"
The body of the fox then dissipated into motes of black and red particles, leaving no traces of its spiritual presence or existence which allowed Sakura to return to tending Theresa's fever, unaware of the long dream she was succumbed to.
...
Theresa... that is the name given to me, unlike everyone else, I don't have any parents. I am just an artificially made person created from the union of the DNAs of a Valkyrie from centuries ago.
I am just a homunculus with the genes of a Honkai beast and a dead person.
My grandfather, the Head Bishop of Schicksal; Otto Apocalypse told me that due to a defect in the process of creating me, my body is unable to age or grow.
Not only is my body a subject to the fusion of a beast and human, the blood of the strongest family that fights the Honkai also runs through my veins and through my own perseverance, I managed to become a strong Valkyrie yet... I know...
I know that members of Schicksal are wary of me and even fear me because in their eyes... I am an anomaly more terrifying than any Honkai beasts.
Those doubts, disdain and fear made me question my own existence... was the reason for my birth not to protect these humans? Then why? Why can I not find the reason to protect them?
However, it wasn't long before I found one, the reason itself.
Cecilia, a Valkyrie born from House Schariac. Only she treated me as I was not a monster, an anomaly, no. She always treated me with compassion, as a friend... as a family.
I wanted to see her smile, and I would do anything for it, even if it meant breaking the rules but... fate would not be so kind to her and as the heiress to the Schariac family, what she did or what will become of her in the future... will always be manipulated.
In order to create the perfect warrior to combat the Honkai, Cecilia was married off to the heir of House Kaslana; Siegfried Kaslana and it wasn't long before...
...
"CECILIA!" Theresa shouted, bursting into a medical room with her said friend lying on the bed with a bundle of wrapped cloth in her arms.
"Theresa! You finally came! Come and look at my little angel!" Cecilia said with joy as Theresa walked up to the bed.
"I'm so sorry, I couldn't come during the birth of your child, I just returned from Germany." Apologised the Valkyrie regretfully.
"No need for an apology, Teri-Teri~! You've been working hard to find the 1st Herrscher! Oh! By the way, me and Siegfried have talked about this and we want you to be this child's godmother so the task of naming her is also up to you~!" Cecilia said happily.
Despite Cecilia's optimism, while Theresa too shared the same feeling, she wasn't confident in her experience in how to take care of a child but she couldn't say no to her dear friend. She then looked at the sleeping face of the little angelic joy.
"This child is so beautiful under the moonlight... her name shall be... Kiana, Valkyrie of the Moon." Theresa declared gently as to not wake the baby.
"Then Theresa, promise me, if anything happens to me, you will teach her and protect her." Cecilia requested hopefully.
"I... I promise... Cecilia..." Theresa then answered after a few seconds.
...
At first, I thought that she was blessed with happiness and I would be able to see her smile forever but... luck or fate itself was never on our side.
During the Second Eruption, the orders came from HQ to defeat the 2nd Herrscher with a nuclear strike, the Herrscher was in Siberia where Cecilia's squad were fighting it.
If the missiles were launched, it would mean killing Cecilia along with the Herrscher.
I hesitated... I didn't want to do it, and I never wish I would...
"Theresa. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good. Do not hesitate." Spoke Otto's voice from the screen, impassive and toneless.
No... no..! NO!
"This is a direct command from Bishop Otto Apocalypse, all personnel, fire all 12 tactical nuclear missiles towards the 2nd Herrscher."
One act, one act and it was all it took to reduce Siberia into a fiery wasteland.
One act on that day, took the precious person who I wanted to protect the most away from me and after 3 months, Siegfried who never trusted Schicksal escaped with Kiana and I soon lost the person who I swore to protect.
Life... went on... as if my pain and struggle never mattered, I simply became a walking corpse, an empty shell who lost everything until... until 2 months ago.
Until I finally found Cecilia's daughter; Kiana... I finally have a chance to fulfil my promise to Cecilia all those years ago...
...
Theresa stood there gazing at the sleeping Kiana, who was brought into the infirmary right after the Third Eruption which ended due to an unexpected intervention.
Kiana...
"I will definitely..." Theresa said, caressing-
...
"...definitely... protect you..." Theresa said, caressing Sakura's cheek as the latter blushed at the gesture, looking down at the former who lost her strength before falling unconscious again.
Even though she knew Theresa was different, she knew Kallen was long dead... the memories that were buried deep within Sakura's subconsciousness resurfaced once again.
...
"Because I promised you..."
"I will not leave you alone!"
"I want to fight alongside you!"
"You don't have to do this."
"SAKURA!"
"I'm... sorry... Kallen..."
"I... love you..."
She sat there, recalling all the distant memories until she heard the damned voice of the fox again, piercing her thoughts as it spoke again.
"This woman is almost dead, don't waste your time on her. There's no hopes or ways to save her."
"No... there is a way." Sakura finally refuted as the phantom scoffed.
"Stop fooling around! How can there possibly be a way!? The only thing that can supress the Herrscher poison is another Herrscher's... core..!"
The fox then trailed off in alarm before realising Sakura's words and the implications.
"Don't tell me... are you insane?! If you give her our core, we will perish! Why would you do such a thing?!"
"Because... she still has someone she wishes to protect." Was all Sakura said resolutely and defiant against the phantom's wills.
She looked at Theresa's face fondly before she leant down slowly...
==============================
Back at the academy, the Herrscher who stalking the corridors of the ruined school, her vines leeching everywhere as she tried to find the accursed human that dared laid his hands on her.
However, not only was the human an adept fighter, he was also skilled at running away much to her contempt which meant she had to scour the entire building to find him.
So far, her vines or her eyes have yet to catch sight of anything... anything except for the glint of a reflective surface shining off in a corner-!
The Herrscher quickly raised her arm instinctively instead of summoning her vines due to the sheer abruptness of an arrow piercing her limb, causing her scream in pain.
"YOU-!" She screamed but (Y/N) had already turned the corner and left.
She wasn't one to give up though, the Herrscher immediately began pursuing the Einherjar furiously as she turned the corner to see a few more arrows shot at her face.
(Y/N) was at the far end of the hallway aiming his bow at her and from what she could see, he had no more arrows inside his quiver which made the Herrscher grin savagely as she envisioned herself tearing the human apart with her vines.
The Herrscher then charged at (Y/N) who quickly entered one of the classroom but she didn't care, her anger at the earlier humiliation simply clouded her rationality along with the Honkai impairing her thoughts at any worries from within the classroom.
"WHERE ARE YOU INSECT?!" Shouted the Herrscher, looking around in the classroom only to see chairs and desks... and ripped walls with pipes exposed.
"Behind you." Came (Y/N)'s voice as the Herrscher spun around only to see a pair of boots slamming straight into her face, kicking her into the room.
"UGH-?! YOU-" She exclaimed in pain, slamming onto the floor before hearing something distinctively click by the side.
The Herrscher turned to see a pin drop onto the floor before seeing a grenade tied to the wall, she then began to piece the situation together as she smelt gas being emitted from the pipes on the walls and then turn back to see (Y/N) slamming the door on her.
The pain in her body gave away to shock and realisation before fear began to grow within her as she took in the severity of her position right now all (Y/N) smashed out of the window.
He held the Oath of Judah tightly with one hand as he fell from the floor and before he knew it, a shockwave violently erupted behind him as he was blown away from the sheer force of the explosion that happened within the building with the Herrscher at the centre.
"ARGH-!!" Even though the Archon had summoned a golden shield to protect him from the explosion, the shockwave was still felt as a testament to its force.
"(Y/N)! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!" Guizhong shouted over the explosion, covering her ears.
"I'LL LIVE!" (Y/N) yelled back as he then shielded himself behind the Oath of Judah all the while the Jade Shield held on firmly.
It wasn't long before the Einherjar felt himself getting slammed into another wall as the explosion continued from the excessive gas within the building but it was enough to give the former a place to hide until the ordeal is over.
"Guess... I still need... to improvise the shield..." (Y/N) panted as the heat and torrents of fumes started to twist away.
"Is... is it over..?" Guizhong questioned, peering out as well before she and (Y/N) saw the sight of Senba High in complete and utter ruins than ever.
The walls were broken and charred and what remained of a foundation was quickly crumbling away as the windows were all but empty holes in the building, ashes and soot fell from everywhere as the Archon walked out into the heated area.
What remained of the corpses in the area only turned into blackened bodies with unrecognisable features as smoke emanated everywhere, filling the air with growing darkness as the Einherjar walked into the still-burning building.
"Dear gods..." Guizhong murmured in shock at the sheer destruction left but (Y/N) only ignored her before he entered the ruins.
(Y/N) began searching around the place for signs of the Herrscher and since the floors were all destroyed in the explosion, the former assumed she would either be one with the charred bodies or unbelievably still alive.
However, his search didn't go for long as he found a cocoon of burnt vines wrapping around what should be the still-alive Herrscher. (Y/N) didn't waste time before he lifted the Oath of Judah up like a hammer and then smashing it straight into the vines.
"Urgh..." Came the weak voice of the Herrscher as she flopped onto the ground, her skin, hair and clothing all severely burnt alongside her flesh.
"...I'm surprised she survived that... but then again, it's a Herrscher..." (Y/N) remarked quietly as Guizhong looked at the girl in pity.
"Too be incinerated and still be alive... it's best to put her out of her misery, seeing it's also an enemy to you and humanity in this world..." She said quietly as well.
"Yeah..."
(Y/N) walked up the struggling Herrscher who tried to pull herself up and away from him but the former only stomped onto her abdomen before pulling off his glove to reveal the rock-like arm underneath, sharpened into claws and glowing.
"Stop..!" The Herrscher coughed, grabbing futilely at (Y/N)'s leg but he didn't stop.
The Archon raised his arm before he swiftly plunged down, piercing through the Herrscher chest as he pulled out a glowing crystal shard with foul energy leaking out which resembled that of Dendro but only more impure and vile.
"Without your core to sustain your powers, how long can you last running on fumes?" (Y/N) questioned, shaking the said core.
"Give it back..! Give it back!! GIVE IT BACK!!!" The Herrscher screeched weakly yet manically as she clawed at the Einherjar.
"No." Was all (Y/N) said before he crushed the core.
"A-ahh... ah..." The Herrscher... the girl only quietly gasped as the vines slowly withered away, the glowing lines of Honkai on her body disappearing in return.
"...I am sorry that it has to come to this but... may you rest in peace and find your worth in the next life." (Y/N) quietly said as Guizhong held her hand together in a prayer.
Seeing or hearing no answers, not that he expects any as (Y/N) turned away just as the girl's arm dropped down limply before he started walking away to find Theresa.
"...Thank... you..."
There was a whisper in the air, a tiny fragment of what remained of her humanity in the area and as quick as it came, it left with the wind as (Y/N) closed his eyes in self-mockery.
"I made you experience absolutely hell before dying painfully... you shouldn't even consider thanking me..."
Was the thoughts that ran through his mind before he stepped out of the ruins just as the growing winds blew away the smoke and clouds high above, revealing the blue sky that remained the same as if undisturbed by the disorder conducted my humanity.
"(Y/N)..?" Guizhong called out quietly in concern at the said Einherjar's silence.
"It's nothing... let's get Theresa and out of here..." (Y/N) replied monotonously as the duo then left to search for the Valkyrie.
Although he managed to successfully cull a birth of another Herrscher in time, (Y/N) didn't feel any sense of accomplishment... no, he didn't feel anything because he felt the actions he had achieved today pales in what would happen in the coming future.
One that he felt would be coming sooner than expected.
==============================
I meant to get this chapter out as soon as possible but my motivation inconveniently ran out of fumes so I got a writer's block on this story, I hope it wasn't underwhelming than you've all expected but I nevertheless hope you enjoyed though.
