"You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favour, stay in it," Everett Ross told T'Challa, Steve and Sam following their arrest after trying to get Bucky out of the country, or something. Maggie hadn't gotten the full story down, yet.

"I don't intend on going anywhere," T'Challa said.

"For the record, this is what making things worse looks like," Maggie muttered to Steve as she and Natasha walked past him.

"He's alive," Steve said.

"No," Tony said loudly on the phone of the conference room they walked into. "Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. And, Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup," Tony said.

"Try not to break anything while we fix this," Natasha eyed the men before she and Maggie walked to help Tony make calls.

"Consequences? You bet there'll be consequences. Obviously you can quite me on that, 'cause I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir," Tony ended the call with a huff.

"Consequences?" Steve said.

"Secretary Ross wants you both prosecuted. Had to give him something," Tony said.

"I'm not getting that shield back, am I?" Steve said, watching as government agents carried his shield, his suit, Sam's bird suit and T'Challa's belongings into a separate office.

"Technically, it's the government's property. Wings, too," Natasha said.

"That's cold," Sam sighed.

"Warmer than jail," Tony said bluntly, walking away to continue making calls.

"Why the hell did the lights go out in the middle of me trying to buy a drink?!" Maggie cried as she ran over to Natasha and Tony running down a hallway.

"Something's happening with Barnes. We think he's escaping," Natasha said worriedly. "You aren't fighting him," she said.

"Fuck that. Of course I'm fighting him. We're gonna get into so much more shit if he manages to escape," Maggie said.

"Kid has a point," Tony said.

"Fine. You don't get yourself killed though, alright?" Natasha said.

"I won't," Maggie said.

"We're in position," Natasha whispered into comms for Tony. She and Maggie were hiding behind a pillar as Bucky fired at guards on the bottom floor of the government building.

Sharon Carter was a few pillars across, with Tony behind another.

Bucky got zapped with a stun-burst from Tony's suit and he hurried forward, firing at Bucky again. Bucky ducked the blast and then fired the gun at Tony. Tony shoved his hand over the barrel, blocking the bullets. He pulled the barrel loose but Bucky smacked him backwards.

Sharon ran over, Maggie and Natasha following quickly. Maggie used her powers to levitate a table, catching Sharon in the air as Bucky launched her away. She lowered Sharon to the floor and used the same table to knock Bucky off of Natasha so Natasha could fight him down.

Maggie ran over and jumped on Bucky from behind, wrapping her arms around her neck and pulling upwards. Bucky's metal hand grabbed her t-shirt and threw her forward off his neck. Maggie hovered in the air before landing on her feet, glaring at Bucky.

"You could at least recognise me, Buck. C'mon, man. You shot me. You don't remember that? I call you a cheater because you always win the arm wrestles we have," Maggie said.

T'Challa burst out of nowhere and knocked Bucky down. The two of them started fighting until Bucky broke free and raced up some stairs. T'Challa followed, the two disappearing out of sight.

"What the fuck is going on?!" Maggie cried, helping Natasha to her feet again.

"I have no idea," Natasha said honestly.

"Me either," Sharon said.

"I don't suppose you have any idea where they are," Secretary Ross eyed Maggie, Tony and Natasha.

"We will. GSG-9's got the borders covered. Recon's flying 24/7. They'll get a hit. We'll handle it," Tony said.

"You don't get it, Stark. It's not yours to handle. It's clear you can't be objective. I'm putting Special Ops on this," Ross said.

"What happens when the shooting starts? What, do you kill Steve, too?" Maggie said.

"If we're provoked. Barnes would've been eliminated in Romania if it wasn't for Rogers. There are dead people who would be alive right now. Feel free to check my math," Ross said.

"All due respect, you're not going to solve this with boys in bullets, Ross. You gotta let us bring them in," Tony said.

"How would that end any differently from the last time?" Ross said.

"Because this time, I won't be wearing loafers and a silk shirt. 72 hours, guaranteed," Tony said.

"36 hours. Barnes, Rogers, Wilson," Ross said.

"Thank you, sir," Tony said. Ross left the room and Tony groaned. "My left arm is numb. Is that normal?" he said.

"You alright?" Natasha eyed him, with his black eye and cut forehead.

"Always. 36 hours, jeez," he breathed.

"We're seriously understaffed," Natasha said.

"Oh, yeah. It'd be great if we had a Hulk right about now. Any shot?" Tony said hopefully.

"No. You really think he'd be on our side?" Natasha frowned.

"No," Tony said.

"I have an idea," Natasha said.

"Me, too," Tony said. "Where's yours?" he asked.

"Downstairs. Where's yours?" Natasha asked.

Tony just smirked widely.

"Magpie, T'Challa likes you. You'll get him on our side?" Tony said.

"He's already on it. I'll get the guards to release him to help," Maggie stood up to go and find T'Challa.

"Hey, Magpie?" Tony called after her. Maggie looked at him. "Thank you for being on our side. I know you're close to Wanda and Steve and I know you signing is probably causing problems," he said. Maggie's hand automatically went to the red woolen bracelet she still wore around her wrist. She'd never taken it off.

"I mean, not really. We're still gonna be friends, I think. I don't know. She hasn't text me in a few hours, even with the explosion," Maggie said.

"Vision will be keeping her occupied so she doesn't want to leave the compound. I'm still sorry," Tony said.

"It's okay. Don't worry," Maggie nodded, heading down to get T'Challa.

"Hey," Wanda picked up Maggie's call a few hours later.

"Hey," Maggie said.

"Are you okay? Clint told me about the explosion when he got me from the compound," Wanda said.

"Clint took you?" Maggie frowned. Natasha looked over from where she was sat at the front of the Quinjet with Tony. Maggie waved Natasha away.

"Yeah. I think we're going to end up fighting," Wanda said.

"Probably are," Maggie said. "I, uh, I went to meet Johann and Katerina," Maggie said quietly.

"Were they everything you remembered?" Wanda asked curiously.

"Johann is, uh, well, he's still like a kid. He wants us to be a family. Katerina couldn't give less of a shit that I was there. She hates me," Maggie said.

"She doesn't hate you, Magdalena. She's just angry and seeing you probably made her think about things she'd rather not think about," Wanda said.

"I know. Johann asked to meet Natasha," Maggie mumbled.

"What did you say?" Wanda said.

"No. They're not my family. Nat is. The Avengers are. You are," Maggie scratched at her jeans to try and ignore the smirks Natasha and Tony were sending each other.

"Magdalena, can I ask you a question?" Wanda said.

"Okay," Maggie said.

"The electricity, that's not just our connection to the Mind Stone for me. Is it for you?" Wanda said.

"No," Maggie sighed. "It's more," she said.

"I need to hear you say it," Wanda said quietly.

Maggie didn't say anything for a few seconds.

"I don't know how to say it," Maggie ran a hand through her hair as she stood up.

"Just tell me the truth. You've never lied to me before," Wanda said.

"I've never done this before, either. I don't do feelings or emotions or people. You know that. I don't know why I let you get away with half of the shit I do because it wouldn't slide for anyone else. Everybody knows it, too. I don't know what to say," Maggie said.

"Think about it. Tell me tomorrow," Wanda said. Maggie could hear her smile through the phone.

"That's not fair. Why do I have to say it but not you?" Maggie said.

"Because I don't want a relationship with someone who can't communicate how they feel, no matter how hard it is. Especially not when we're both so messed up," Wanda said.

"Good point. We are screwed up," Maggie sighed. "But, uh," Maggie trailed off. "Whatever I say, you'll say something back, right?" Maggie said.

"I will always say something back. Sometimes, you just have to be the first person to speak up," Wanda said. "Get some rest, alright? I'll call you tomorrow," Wanda said.

"You sound like Natasha," Maggie rolled her eyes.

"The two of us are very well versed in Magdalena-language, and you're a bit of a bitch when you don't get enough sleep," Wanda laughed.

"You're the bitch, Maximoff," Maggie chuckled. "But I am gonna get some sleep. I think I'll be kicking your ass tomorrow," Maggie said.

"Probably. No cheating, alright? We either use magic or no magic," Wanda said.

"You're the one that's gonna need to cheat to win. We both know I'm the better fighter," Maggie teased. "Night," she added.

"Loser," Wanda laughed, ending the call.

"Finally admit you two are in love?" Tony called.

Maggie threw her phone at the back of his chair.

"Hey!" Tony whined. "Reasonable question," he said.

"You and this Maximoff girl are a thing?" T'Challa said, walking over from where he had been 'sleeping'.

"No," Maggie said.

"Not yet," Natasha said. "Maggie's never had a girlfriend before, so she doesn't know what to say to Wanda," she said.

"She wants me to say that I like her," Maggie made a face.

"You do like her," Tony said.

"I know but why do I have to say it if we all know that I like her?" Maggie whined.

"Because sometimes it's nice to tell the person you like that you like them so they're sure before they make a move," Tony said.

"I'm not taking relationship advice from any of you. Tony, Pepper is basically your mom and girlfriend mashed into one. Natasha, you had a crush on Steve, then Bruce, and now you're a single mom. And T'Challa, you can't even talk to your ex without almost dying on the spot. So, we're all equally bad at relationships and I'm going to sleep," Maggie lay down on the floor of the Quinjet.

"She gets her dramatic flair from you, you know?" Natasha eyed Tony.

"I know," Tony grinned.

"And there are five more super soldiers just like him. I can't let the doctor find them first, Tony. I can't," Steve said.

Maggie and Natasha stepped out of their hiding spot.

"Steve, you know what's about to happen. Do you really wanna punch your way out of this one?" Natasha said.

"Alright, I've run out of patience. Underoos," Tony said loudly. Peter Parker, Spiderman, shot a web at Steve. He stole his shield and webbed his hands together, landing on a plane wing. "Nice job, kid," Tony said.

"Thanks. Well, I could've stuck the landing a little better. It's just the new suit. Well, it's nothing, Mr. Stark. It's, it's perfect. Thank you," Peter rambled.

"And I'm the disaster around here," Maggie whispered to Natasha, who snorted back a laugh.

"Yeah, we don't really need to start a conversation," Tony shook his head.

"Okay. Cap," Peter nodded awkwardly at Steve, "Captain. Big fan. I'm Spiderman," Peter said.

"Yeah, we'll talk about it later. Just-" Tony tried.

"Hey, everyone," Peter waved..

"Good job," Tony sighed, turning back to the boys.

"You've been busy," Steve barely hid his smirk.

"And you've been a complete idiot. Dragging in Clint, rescuing Wanda from a place she doesn't even want to leave, a safe place. I'm trying to keep... I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart," Tony ranted.

"You did that when you signed," Steve said.

"Alright, we're done. You're gonna turn Barnes over, you're gonna come with us. Now! Because it's us, or a squad of J-SOC guys with no compunction about being impolite. Come on," Tony said.

Steve held his hands up and an arrow broke the webs around them.

"Alright, Lang," Steve said.

"Hey, guys, something-" Peter was cut off as he was launched backwards, a man growing out of air landing on his feet.

"What the fuck?!" Maggie cried.

"What the hell was that?" Rhodey cried from inside his suit.

"I believe this is yours, Captain America," Lang handed Steve his shield back.

"Oh, great," Tony groaned, turning around. "Alright, there's two on the parking deck. One of them's Maximoff. I'm gonna-"

"I'll get Wanda," Maggie said quickly.

"Go," Tony nodded.

Maggie raced off towards the parking deck. Someone else would take Clint, probably Tony, but Wanda wanted Maggie to be honest, so she was gonna be honest. Wanda was being an idiot by leaving the compound.

And maybe she'd slip in the fact that she liked Wanda, but not until she'd stopped Wanda from fighting. She didn't want anything happening to the girl.

"I thought Nat told you that looking over your shoulder had to be second nature," Maggie said, leaning against one of the concrete supports in the parking deck. Clint had disappeared to join the fight a few seconds earlier and Maggie had crept up on Wanda as she watched through one of the windows.

Wanda turned around with a smile.

"I always know when you're near me, Magdalena. I feel you," Wanda said.

"That sounds a lot dirtier than you meant it to be," Maggie said. Wanda smirked.

"Maybe I'm spending too much time with you, Romanoff," she said.

"Maybe you are. You gonna stop?" Maggie said. She wasn't just talking about Wanda stopping spending time with her. They both knew Maggie was asking if Wanda was going to keep fighting for Steve.

"No. Are you?" Wanda said.

"No," Maggie said. "You know I can't," Maggie said.

"You know I can't, either," Wanda said.

"I know," Maggie nodded. "Kind of wish I didn't, 'cause that would make this easier," Maggie said.

"Make what easier?" Wanda said.

"I'm really sorry, Maximoff," Maggie said, stepping forward and quickly taking Wanda down so she was on the floor. Maggie sat on top of her to keep her down. "I don't want to do this. Not like this, anyway," Maggie said.

Wanda chuckled and quickly flipped them. Maggie stared up at Wanda with wide eyes. She hadn't been able to beat Maggie a few days ago.

"This is more like it," Wanda said.

"I could totally beat you," Maggie said.

"I know," Wanda smiled. "But not today. I'm sorry," Wanda said.

"I don't want to fight you," Maggie said. "But I will if I have to. If you fight with them, you're wanted. If the government get their hands on you, they can lock you up in America. They can deport you, if they want to. And, uh, well," Maggie sighed as she flipped them again, this time pinning Wanda's arms to her side, "I like you too much to let that happen," Maggie said.

"I didn't want you to say it like that," Wanda huffed, trying to pull her wrists free.

"I still said it," Maggie said.

She pulled out some rope and quickly tied Wanda's wrists up in a knot she knew Wanda would have to use magic to break. But, if she used magic, Maggie would feel it and be able to get back to stop her from escaping.

"Kinky," Wanda smirked.

"I'm really rubbing off on you," Maggie smiled proudly.

"Not really. You could be, but my hands are kind of tied up. You know, we don't have to fight. We could just stay here, you and me, and we could talk," Wanda said. She brought her knees up to support Maggie's back where she was still straddling her.

Maggie leaned back against them to look at Wanda. Her hair was around her head, her cheeks were flushed and she looked a mixture of both turned on and kind of angry. Maggie hummed before leaning forward, putting her arms on either side of Wanda's head.

Her eyes widened as Maggie leaned in, their noses brushing. Wanda's eyes fluttered shut and Maggie smiled slightly. She knew Wanda was going to kick her ass for this.

"I'm sorry, little witch. Not gonna happen today," Maggie whispered. She stood up quickly and used her powers to keep Wanda on the floor until she was definitely out of the building. "Guys, where are we at?" Maggie said into comms.

"We're the explosion of cars that just happened," Natasha groaned. "Hope your flirting was worth it," she said.

"Chill out. I gave her blue balls, anyway," Maggie started running towards the explosion to get the rest of their team.

"She's not gonna be happy about that," Tony said.

Maggie felt her head buzz slightly. Wanda was using her powers, then.

"She isn't," Maggie sighed, taking off before Wanda could catch up to her.

Maggie watched as Vision cut Steve's team off before they could reach the Quinjet. It was him, Bucky, Sam, Wanda, Clint and the tiny ant man thing.

Vision was floating above Tony's team. It was Tony, Rhodey, Natasha, Maggie, T'Challa, Spiderman and, now, Vision, too.

"Captain Rogers. I know you believe what you're doing is right. But for the collective good, you must surrender now," Vision said.

"Magdalena," Bucky said. Everybody's eyes snapped to his. "There are five more of me," he said.

"Why does that change anything?" Maggie snapped.

"Because Dimitri was the one who kept me brainwashed when you took down HYDRA with Steve and Natasha. He was the one who helped with turning me into the Winter Soldier again. He must've told the doctor how to wake me up again. He's still out there," Bucky said.

"I know he's still out there," Maggie's jaw clenched. "And I know what he's done. But what he did to me and what he did to you? That's two different things. He's too smart to be wherever this doctor is and I think we both know that pretty well," Maggie said.

"Magdalena, please," Bucky said, voice strained. "If he gets his hands on us, you know his first target will be you. You know that better than anyone else ever will. He'll make you like I was," Bucky said.

"I've been a target since I was four years old. That hasn't changed. Neither will my opinion on this," Maggie said.

"Really?" Bucky said.

"Really," Maggie nodded.

They stood there in silence for a few seconds.

"You were ten when I first met you. Your dad made us train with each other. Your powers took my arm off," Bucky said.

Maggie looked down as she remembered that day.

"Then you were eleven and we were on a mission together. You wouldn't kill the man because his little girl was with him. So I shot you and then killed him and his daughter. I wanted to apologise as soon as I'd done it, but your father-"

"Scrambled your brain in a blender and spat it back out into your head. I know. I remember. He made me watch," Maggie muttered.

Bucky's face dropped.

"I'm not going to stop, Magdalena. I can't," he said. Maggie looked up at him.

"Yeah, well, neither can I," Maggie said.

"What do we do, Cap?" Sam said.

Steve looked at Maggie. She stared back.

"You fight," Maggie said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Because we aren't backing down," she said.

"This is gonna end well," Natasha muttered.

The two teams started walking towards each other, Maggie's eyes remaining on Bucky the entire time.

"They aren't stopping," Peter panicked.

"Neither are we," Tony said.

Maggie jumped at Bucky, using her powers to keep his metal arm to his side. She punched him in his face, knocking him to the floor.

"He'll kill you if we don't stop him," Bucky cried, using all of his strength to try and move his arm.

"And he'll kill me if we do. I'm not getting out of this alive either way. But if I have to die, it's on my terms," Maggie said.

She was launched backwards off of Bucky and she groaned, rubbing her head as she looked up at Sam in the air above her.

"Sorry, kid. No hard feelings?" he called.

"Oh, no," Maggie glared at him as she got to her feet. "All of the feelings. Every single bad one," Maggie said.

"Ah, fuck," Sam muttered.
