Chapter 3: The Academy

Five years went by and Jamie was getting along quite nicely in Piltover. A week after she moved in with Viktor, her wound had healed enough to where only a scar was left. Thanks to Viktor, she got into the academy and was one of the brightest students there. She even made some other friends, like Jayce and Caitlyn.

The only problem was she still couldn't find her sisters. She made frequent visits back to the Undercity and checked any place they could be, but still couldn't find them. But she didn't give up hope.

Even after a long day at school, she was sitting in an empty classroom, just looking out the window, lost in thought; she was supposed to be working.

(A/N Her outfit.)

"Another late night?" a familiar voice asked, getting her attention.

She turned to see Professor Heimerdinger, making her smile.

"I guess so, Professor," she answered.

He went to her and noticed she wasn't completely focused.

"Is there something on your mind? Could I help in any way?" he offered.

"I don't want to bore you with my problems. I already feel bad about putting them on Viktor when he has enough to worry about," Jamie replied.

"On the contrary, my dear. Despite what he's been through, he worries about you," Heimerdinger said, making Jamie blush with wide eyes, to which he chuckled before continuing, "He has actually come to me for advice to help you. He didn't tell me much of what happened to you, saying it wasn't his place to say."

Jamie smiled lightly before asking, "What did he tell you?"

"Just that one moment in your life has taken a toll on you for the five years you've been here. But if you are willing to share, I can try to help," he said.

She moved some strands of hair behind her ear and explained, "I lost my parents to enforcers five years ago. I was injured and I saw my two sisters taken in by someone I didn't recognize but somehow knew he was trustworthy. I tried to follow them, but they disappeared. So I came to Viktor and he helped me with everything since then, even though I keep telling him he doesn't have to due to his condition."

"How long have you known Viktor?" Heimerdinger asked.

"15 years. One of the best moments of my life," Jamie answered, smiling.

He did the same before saying, "I'm sorry that happened to you. Sometimes remembering the past helps us to move toward the future. Just know if there's anything you want to talk about, I'm here."

"Thank you, Professor," she nodded to him.

He then left and Jamie sighed before gathering her things. She headed back to Viktor's place and went to her room. She put her things down, changed into a different outfit, then wrote a note.

Viktor,
I went back down to the Undercity. You don't have to wait up for me. Please get some rest and I'll be back tonight.
Jamie

She left it on the counter then headed out.
