Chapter 2: Things Take a Turn

Ever since that day, Jamie and Viktor met up a couple times a week. And when her parents met him, they thought it was great since Jamie didn't have many friends to begin with. Her mother even gave birth to another girl and as the years went on, they had another girl. Through the years, Jamie and Viktor were inseparable, even when he moved to Piltover.

It had been ten years since they met and that was when all hell broke loose. On the bridge, enforcers had killed many people, including Jamie's parents. She was picking herself up off the ground, seeing who she recognized as someone the family trusted take her sisters away, but couldn't pinpoint a name or face.

(A/N I bet that gave away who the sisters are. XD Also, her outfit.)

She struggled to get up and when she looked back in that direction, they were gone. She went that way and looked around, but could not find them. As she did, she grunted in pain as she held her bleeding side. Since she couldn't find them, she only knew of one place she could go.

She limped toward Piltover and went toward the place she was told the one who could help her would be. Once there, she leaned against the doorframe in pain and knocked on the door. She slowed her breathing so she wouldn't lose any more blood. Then the door opened and she smiled at the surprised person who answered.

"Jamie?" Viktor asked.

"Hey, Vik," Jamie breathed.

He didn't hesitate to help her inside. Once he sat her down, he closed the door and got a first aid kit.

"Are you alright? What happened?" he wondered as he got the things he needed.

"I've seen better days, but it was enforcers. My family and I were at the bridge and...my parents were killed," she answered, feeling tears build up in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry," Viktor apologized.

"Don't worry about it," Jamie said, wiped the tears away, then continued, "I at least know my sisters are alive and will be taken care of. I couldn't recognize who took them, but I could tell we knew and trusted him. I looked for them, but I couldn't find them, so I came here."

He then began to gently clean the wound, making her wince. He apologized again before resuming.

"I'm glad you came here," he told her as he started stitching up the wound.

"Me too," she smiled.

Viktor returned it before asking, "So what'll you do now?"

"I don't know. I don't have anywhere else to go or know where my sisters are," Jamie answered.

"Well, if you want, you could stay here," he offered, making her a bit surprised, then he went on, "I've known you for 10 years and I know we trust each other. I'll sleep better at night knowing you're safe, especially after what you went through."

She smiled before wrapping her arms around his neck, saying, "Thank you, Viktor. Not just for this, but also being there for me."

Viktor returned the hug, telling her, "Anything for you, Jamie."

They parted and he finished stitching and dressing the wound. Once done, he gave her an extra cane for her to use until she was in full health. He gave her a room and she made herself at home. She knew she was also in good hands like her sisters.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N So Jamie is staying with Viktor while her sisters are being taken care of by a friend of the family. Good stuff.
