The Purple Diamond

Birthed in a dark place, a joyful babe,

A core of carbon, draped in a glittering cape.

Naturally pellucid, wondrously pure,

Facets of warmth, conceals a mysterious cure.

Tinkering radiance, beaming luminescence,

A carefree being, from infancy till adolescence.

In adulthood it becomes hard, but never harsh,

Like a glowing moon, near a marsh.

Sparkling tints, old age bestows wisdom,

Magnificent hues, a mysterious prism.

The glorious purple diamond,

Whether formless or shaped like an almond,

Broadens my horizons,

Makes me feel enlivened and enlightened.
