An utter dread lies in the pit of my heart,

I can feel movement on every part.

My body moves of its own accord,

My mind screams like a broken record.

Spidery webs of horror from forgotten lore,

Reign supreme over my battered core.

I try to move away from an unknown source,

But I remain crushed under a suffocating force.

Like a helpless mime,

I remain frozen in time.

My eyes never open, I can feel no more,

But my ears detect an animalistic roar.

I lurch forward and the feeling is gone,

I open my orbs and there isn't a hell spawn.

I heave a sigh and stay awake,

Like a dark snake inside a verdant lake,

Sleep paralysis only gives heartache.
