Better
Become better, you loathsome fool,
Destroyer of all that is wonderful.
Doing that which you once found silly,
Gaining pity and kindness as you remain cruel.
Think better, you loathsome fool,
Rationalising out loud while lying quietly.
Why can you not understand, when you know it plainly?
Why must you be inert and shun the critical rule?
Feel better, you loathsome fool,
And crush these unnecessary wishes!
Why do you cause yourself misery?
Do not amplify bothers so minuscule!
Do better, you loathsome fool,
Reminiscing about a disparate time.
Cherish this treasure you never thought to see,
For it has become your most precious jewel.
(She finally sees the agonised face in the mirror, frustration releasing the salty water. The fears and cynicism rose as the string of senseless nonsense continued.)
You will hurt them and bind them,
You will make them wish they never knew you.
You will drive them away,
When that is the opposite of what you want!
Your sorrow is causing them misery, despite their gentle words.
You are troubling yourself, and that who is closest to you.
Why do you think the worst, when you see the best? Why do you feel the worst?
You might wish to stop existing, but that is not an option. So,
Please become better, you fool,
For your sake and for those you love.
Please fight against your innate wiring,
And become a better person.
