Five - Skydive

The Avengers flew both ways, three in one direction and the rest in another. The three fell through a few floors, crashing down hard with debris coming down onto them. One man not able to stay calm, a woman with her foot stuck as she talks soothing words to the man, and their supposed enemy, who lays unconscious after her head hit the wall.

The conscious woman goes on the comm, "I'm okay." Then she turns to look at the man, who seems to be loosing control. "We're okay, right?" Natasha, the woman, looks over at her unconscious enemy and worries at the blood dripping from two different parts of her head.

She turns back to the man, Bruce, who is starting to look enraged. Natasha struggles to pull her foot free and begins to speak to Bruce, "Doctor... Bruce, you gotta fight it. This is just what Loki wants. We're gonna be okay. Listen to me."

After she finishes, two SHEILD agents are spotted and Natasha is quick to wave them away with her hand, hoping the Hulk won't notice and hurt them. She takes a quick glance at Jessica and looks back at Bruce, who looks even angrier than before.

"We're gonna be okay. Right? I swear on my life I will get you out of this, you will walk away, and never-" Her voice stopped when his started.

"Your life?" He didn't sound like Bruce anymore, although his face remained the same. His voice grew deeper as he growled out the joking threat.

Then, the lights flashed out. Darkness consumed Natasha and what was only seconds felt like years. She was worried for her life and everyones on board. Even in the dark, Natasha could make out the knowing look on Banner's sorrowful face. They both knew the outcome.

"Bruce..."

As the Hulk was let out of his other-body jail, Natasha had taken the time wisely and pulled her foot free of the rubble. She quietly went to Jessica, who was named as an enemy, and slung the girl over her shoulder. As stealthy as the trained spy could be, this wasn't her evening.

Hulk quickly turned to her and grimaced, opening his mouth to create a loud roar as Natasha swiftly made her way up a stairwell, the green monster on her tail. She didn't know the safest place to leave Jessica, but it had to be there on that stairwell. If she could just get on the comm fast enough while running away from and distracting the hulk, Jessica's life could be spared, or another life would be wasted... Natasha wasn't sure.

Black Widow came to a conclusion as the Hulk stomped his way furiously toward her: she had to hide Jessica in between the lines. And so, she did with the little amount of time she had left and then... she ran like hell. Weaving her way through pipes and railings, Natasha still had Hulk hot on her tail.

Natasha's pipe adventure came to an end as Hulk pulled them apart and she fell down onto the walkway and then rolled under and began to seemingly escape as Hulk roared big and loud.

Hearing loud smashing behind her, Nat stopped, pulling out her gun and making her way on top of the catwalk. Almost too scared to turn around, she blinked away the uneasy feeling and turns to the Hulk as he roars at her with pure anger.

Quick on her toes, Natasha shoots the liquid nitrogen pipe just to the right of Hulk's face and as she runs to make her escape down the corridors, Hulk smashes the pipe and follows closely behind.

What the two didn't know, is that bleeding-out Jessica Drew was on the radiation monster's tail. That's what she called him, running behind and comparing Bruce Banner to Hulk.

Hulk swung his arm and slammed Natasha into a wall, where she cowered away in fear. Complete and utter fear. Jessica, seeing the look on Natasha's face, was surprised. The woman who always seemed too calm, as she was a trained spy, was broken. Her face filled with emotion. Filled with fear. Natasha had never been more scared in her entire life. Never.

Jessica looked to the side, seeing a God running her way. She gave him a signal to go at Hulk from the left while she would go at him from the right.

As Hulk raised his hand to finish the puny human, as he thought of her, he was suddenly knocked down. Jessica was swinging her way on his right fist while Thor was pulling him down by the other. This reminded Arachne of something, but she wasn't sure what.

The god spoke suddenly, while aiming at Hulk to take a swing with his fist, "Go! I'll take care of him."

"Yes, your majesty!" And, just as Thor ordered, eager Jessica ran without looking back at the green man.

She slid to a stop as she neared Natasha, who was still in shock. Jessica almost pitied the girl before her, but instead she called out.

"Romanoff!" and after the other didn't respond, Jessica became eye-level with the girl. "For God's sake! I don't even know why I'm helping you in this battle. I am no soldier. So, would you give me a little respect and respond? Are you alright?" She shook the woman slightly, who only glanced up at her and quietly replied, "Go."

As Jessica eyed the woman for injuries, standing up and readying herself once more, Natasha did her one last favor. "Take this," she took and earpiece from her pocket and threw it up at Jessica, "You'll need it."

Jessica looked down at the ear piece and ran down the corridor, placing it in her ear.

"Hello comm listeners, this is Arachne reporting for duty," she claimed almost sarcastically, waiting for a command.

"Why're you on my comms?" the voice of the irritated Fury rang in her ears.

"Romanoff did me a favour," Jessica quickly responded as she made her way to a working SHIELD agent, who was tapping away on a tablet of sorts. She glanced at the name tag briefly before starting a conversation.

"Agent Brooks, report on infiltration and damage control," she calmly demanded as the gears in her HYDRA reconstructed brain worked seamlessly. Her spy training had definitely paid off for both ends of the spectrum.

The agent eyed her wearily and scrolled on the eye pad to see if there was any authorisation for the bloody girl in front of him.

"Why are you suddenly deciding to help?" Fury asked curiously, suspecting Jessica's memories having some reoccurrence.

"I'm..." she said it almost hesitantly, as if she wasn't sure who to trust over these comms, "not quite sure, yet."

Agent Brooks looked up at her for a moment, slightly afraid, before questioning her name.

"Arachne, but you might as well look up Jessica Drew... I'm sure that's what Fury has me labelled as." The agent could hear the annoyance in her British voice as he typed the name and not the alias.

"You're not authorised."

Jessica grimaced, clenched her teeth and bared them like a dog, speaking through them, "Not authorised my arse. You've got ten seconds to answer my original command or-" she gripped his throat loosely, "-I'll tighten my grip." Low and quiet anger was the most intimidating, as Jessica had noticed over the years. It always worked.

Agent Brooks quickly pushed buttons on the tablet as Jessica counted down from ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two...

"Okay!" but she didn't let go until she heard her answer. "We've been i-infiltrated. Perimeter breach by the enemy who are dressed in SHEID gear... and, uh..." her grip became slightly less loose, "um... the uh.... engine is down and there's a gaping whole in the side of the ship where an ex-"

"Okay, yeah. I know that part." She dropped the agent with a little push and went on her way, swiftly dodging agents as she sped inhumanly down the hall. As she neared the engine, she could hear Tony Stark both through he comms and in real life, which sounded like a phone call in the same room. All she heard was the back end of one of Tony's orders:

"...long enough for me to get out. Stand by it, wait for my word."

As Jessica made her way out, she spotted Steve and whistled for his attention. He looked down from the broken flooring he was standing on and at her, smiling slightly at the sight of help, who was somewhat more like him and maybe didn't know a thing about this technology talk either.

She jumped onto a wall opposite of Captain America and smirked at him as his eyes filled with shock, watching her climb up and jump swiftly towards him, holding out her arms and revealing flying squirrel-like wings attached to her suit. Jessica landed beside him and smirked.

"What's the plan, Cap?" she asked, placing her hands crossed over her chest as she looked out past him and at the empty sky.

"Wait for Tony's word, Ma'am," he responded in a soldier-like fashion. Jessica could almost imagine the solute that could've followed. She hummed in response, never looking over at him. "You're bleeding..." he trailed off, reminding the girl of her pounding headache.

"Jessica, status report. I'm not letting you go on my watch." There he was again, Director Fury, talking right into Jessica's earpiece.

"Waiting for Stark's word with Rogers," she answered, pleasing the over worried man. What use would it be to escape now? Jessica was having too much fun.

"You're with Capsicle? Are you guys on some sort of sick version of a first date? I would hate to interrupt, but I could really use a hand, Jess," Tony Stark's cocky tone rang out onto the comms as Jessica rolled her eyes and noticed a slight blush on Steve's face which he was masking with equal annoyance.

"I suppose I could fly down there and help you," Jessica responded, watching Steve, who was watching her.

"Great. Now-" Tony was cut off.

"But..." she dragged on, looking at Steve with mischief in her eyes.

"Seriously?" Stark asked, a dull tone to his voice.

"I'd rather make out with Rogers seeing as both if us will be distracted and your signal will go unnoticed and you'll get caught in th-" Jessica said this all watching Steve get slightly flustered, but also amused at how she was annoying Tony.

"Just help Stark, Arachne," Natasha was back on the comms and sounded very uneasy, but also annoyed at the banter between the two.

"Ah, Romanoff. I'm glad someone knows my name," Jessica pointed out, remembering what Tony had called her a moment ago.

After the little chat Jessica had with the crew, she turned to see the enemy dressed as SHEILD and motioned for Steve to have a look. For a moment, they seem harmless, but then the shooting starts and the Captain gets into combat mode and jumps down to the shooters as Jessica decides which way to go: Iron man or Captain America.

"Rogers?" she calls down to him and he throws a man overboard.

"Yeah?" he calls back up, not looking away from the enemy.

"You've got this one covered?" Jessica wearily questions as she glances from him to where Tony should be.

"Yeah, go help Tony." Jessica was quick to turn around and jump off the broken opening of the ship, flying her way over to Tony.

"Hello, Tony," Jessica greeted as she landed above him, "Miss me?"

"No," was the blunt response she got. She jumped down to Tony and started to help him push the rotors. "What's our game plan? How fast should we push."

"How are you stronger than me?" Tony ignored her questions and asked one of his own, which was definitely more important at the time.

"Super strength and spiders."

"Stark," Jessica heard Fury over the comms, "we're loosing altitude."

"Yeah. Noticed," Tony replies in a 'Thanks, Captain Obvious' tone.

"I'm gonna plant my feet, Stark. Otherwise, we won't get enough power to start it up. Don't worry about me. I run real fast," Jessica told him, touching her feet down onto the thin metal beams under her and running alongside Tony flying in the iron suit.

"Super speed. What other bunnies are you planning on pulling out of the hat?" Tony comments as Jessica smirks up at him. She can feel the helicarrier level out and her foot almost slips because of the change in angle.

"I guess you will just have to stick around and find out," she jokes. The two start to push the rotors faster as it's almost time for Cap to flip the lever. After a few moments, Tony speaks up over the comms: "Cap, I need the lever!"

Steve replies, sounding like he's struggling, "I need a minute here!"

"Lever. Now." Tony commands, his voice tinged with worry, knowing there isn't much time.

"I thought you had it under control, Rogers," Jessica nags at him as Tony let's go of the rotors because they're too fast and she soon follows behind him.

"Uh-oh," Tony whispers as the two are pressed up against the front of another rotor, Jessica struggling to keep her footing as she runs with it.

"You fancy a skydive, Stark?" Jessica asks, turning her head to look at Tony before they slip under the rotor and bump around with grunts of discomfort and pain.

"While you're down there, Drew, you might want to find our Hulk," Fury added over the comm. Jessica rolls over and slips out of the engine, watching for Tony as she dives down backward.

"Copy that." Jessica watches as Tony emerges from the engine and lets out a happy cheer: "Whoo! Nice one, Stark."

She points her thumb up as Tony looks down at her and responds, "You weren't too bad either."

Jessica turns around, facing the ground as she falls through the clouds and straight down, her arms at her side for a faster fall. As the land gets closer and the clouds clear out, Jessica eyes up where Hulk could've landed. She notices a big gaping whole in a giant square building. Bingo. She decides to land in the body of water nearby and meet up with Hulk once she's down there.

"Arachne?" Steve's worried voice comes in over the comms.

"Captain," she responds with a smirk on her face, "to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"How's the fall?" he asks, hoping she'll make it down safely.

"There's a nice view up here. I think i've spotted Banner's landing spot and I'm headed into the water nearby. I'm still loosing blood, though... which is causing a migraine, but it'll pass," she informs calmly, hopping to assure him that she's fine and can handle this alone. Steve wasn't as worried about the fall as to what her mission was: find Hulk, a  dangerous task.

"Get your head to stop bleeding before you go to him. Good luck."

"Barf," Tony interrupts the two, sticking a finger in front of his open mouth, looking over at the Captain.

"Don't you-" Jessica's voice cut off as she hit the water and the connection was broken.

"Don't I...?" Tony asked over the comms, joking around.

"Arachne?" Steve questioned, not hearing her sarcastically reply to Tony.

"We've lost connection with the HYDRA Hunter and Spy, Arachne, once she hit the water. All we can hope now, is that she follows through," Fury informs.
