Hey, dummy, I love you

Misaki skipped besides Makoto, confused because he hadn't talked at all during their ten-minute walk towards his house. It wasn't far away from the cafeteria so they had no problem walking until there. She decided to do something out of character, since she wanted to lighten the mood:

"Eh. . . So which are the names of your siblings?" Misaki was remembering the two hyperactive little children who she had met three years ago.

"The boy's name is Ren while the girl's is Ran. I think you'll love them but I must warn you, they are huge troublemakers" the brunette warned and sheepishly scratched his cheek in an attempt to sound awkward about it.

The girl nodded and they continued their way towards the boy's house.

. . .

"Ren! Ran! I'm home!" Makoto shouted when he opened the door, taking off his shoes and placing them near the door. Misaki mimicked his movements and stayed with her shocks on. She decided to take a quick look around the house while Makoto was going to find his siblings. The style was a classical Japanese like the other houses but this one had light colors- pink, white and the baby blue. A fresh bouquet of flowers was placed within a vase in the entrance and multiple furniture were scattered around the room, yet giving an organized picture of it.

As she was standing there, some yelps were heard behind her and before she could react, she was shoved on the floor. Luckily, she had placed her hands in front of her to prevent any injuries but she still whimpered under the weight which was pressing her down, "Owie . . ." Misaki moaned in pain but was soon relieved when the weight moved and let her turn around.

Two almost identical persons were standing in front of her, grinning widely at each other while a worried Makoto was bending close to her, offering his hand. "Mi-Misaki! Are you alright?"

"I guess so" she replied and took his hand, standing up shakily. She dusted off herself and looked at the two kids which were giggling.

Makoto scratched his cheek awkwardly and faked a laugh, "I'm sorry about that but it is just that those two were--"

"-- too excited to see you again, Nee-chan!" the tiny boy beemed, hugging her hand. His sister copied him and hugged her other hand, makingbthe ravenette sweat drop in awkwardness.

"Eh, you must be Ren" Misaki stated, looking at the boy, thinking that he looked a lot alike Makoto. Then, she turned to the girl who was giving her a wide grin, "And you must be Ran"

"Correct!"

Makoto managed to unhook the two children from the young adult and put them on the couch, ordering them to sit calmly because they had a visitor. The brunette sighed when he arrived in front of the fazed Misski who was still staring at the two identical siblings, thinking how cute they were.

"Eh, sorry about that. . . "Makoto excused himself, sweat dropping once more because of his hyperactive siblings.

Misaki giggled for the first time that day, locking her grey orbs with his calm green ones, "It is alright, Makoto" The two of them stared at each other but finally snapped off when they heard a commotion going on by the two rascals.

"Kyaaa~ Kawaii desu~!"

"Yack! Mako-nii!!"

Misaki blushed slightly and approached the two children, kneeling down so she could look properly at them, "Hmm, Ren, Ran? Do you want to play a game?". The twins looked at each other and nodded, grinning like there was no tomorrow. "Hm. . . You have to hide and try not to be found by us or you'll go early to bed"

Ran looked afraid at Ren but they yelped and started running away from the adults, probably finding a place to hide at. Misaki laughed shortly, grinning at Makoto and clasping together her hands, "That's how you take care of children". The brunette sweat dropped slightly at her sudden change of mood and act but got over with it and gestured a seat at her on the couch with him. Misaki gladly accepted it and sat down, looking as the male re-appeared in the living room with two glasses of juice for them.

When Makoto sat besides her, he handed her a glass and took the other, slowly sipping the juice. Misaki copied his actions and started drinking the liquid which she found very tasteful. They stayed in silence for one more time, looking around the room awkwardly as they tried not to look at each other. They finished their drinks and placed the glasses on the table.

"Misaki" Makoto stated in a serious tone, making the raven head look at him and nod. He took a deep breath and neared closer to her, their cheeks being tinted with a light shade of pink. "Since three years ago, I had been growing feelings for you. You left and I tried to forget about you but everything I did reminded me of you. And now that you're back, those feelings are hammering me from inside, trying to break free"

"I-I'm afraid I can't understand you, Makoto" the girl stuttered anxiously, not knowing how to respond. A scream from the children upstairs was heard and that was an opportunity for her to get away. "I will go and check on the-- Ow!!". As she had stood up to go to his siblings, she had tripped on her feet and had fallen over on the carpet.

Her head was spinning around and she tried opening her eyes which was done succesfully. "M-Makoto, can you help me here?"

Makoto nodded from his seat but all he did was hover above her and trap her between his body and the floor. The raven head started panicking but calmed down when she saw the gentleness in his green eyes, making her stay still for some reason. "M-Makoto?"

"Hey dummy, I love you" he whispered in her ear and smiled warmly at her, making all the blood rush up to her cheeks. She didn't know what to say but luckily, some voices interrupted their awkward session slash confession.

"Mako-nii!!! What are you doing to Misaki-nee??"

"Yack!! Go find a room!"

Luckily, the brunette stood up with flushed cheeks, not wanting to believe that his siblings watched him doing something like that. Misaki quickly stood up after him, dusting off herself and clearing her throat. Then, she waved at the two kids and paced towards the door as fast as she could.

"Bye guys, see you tomorrow" she exclaimed and opened the door half-way, glancing at Makoto before leaving, "As for you, come at my house tomorrow morning". And with that, she left, leaving the male dumbfounded about what had just happened.
