"Ready or not here I come!" I yelled and opened my eyes. I swam around the room, looking in every place I could think of.
I did not find a single person in the three minutes I was searching before our teacher came back into the room.
She swam over to me and picked me up. She carried me over to one of the cots.
"Nap time everyone." She laid me down.
Everyone slowly came put from where they were hiding. Kaldur came over and laid next to me. We cuddled together and we both said thank you as a blanket was laid over us.
"Sweet dreams Percy." Kaldur kissed my cheek.
"To you as well." I closed my eyes with a smile on my face.
I fell asleep without a problem.
Then something woke me up.
My eyes shot open and I sat up. Two big sea serpents were in front of my face, mouths open.
I giggled and wrapped my hands around them. I started playing with them, but soon after they stopped moving.
Not to say I stopped playing with them, I kept shaking them.
"Snakey! Snakey! Wake up Snakies!" I smiled.
A yawn came from beside me. "Sister? Percy!" Kaldur yelled, pulling the snakes out of my grip and throwing them away from us.
He pulled me into a tight hug, one hand keeping my face pressed to his shoulder. "It is okay. It is okay. You are safe."
"What is all the-" Our teacher stopped talking, probably when she saw the snakes. "Everybody outside! Now!"
Kaldur did not release me, instead choosing to carry me.
When he let me go, I turned to see our teacher swimming back and forth and back and forth.
She was speaking quietly and running her hands through her hair.
"What's wrong?" I looked up at Kaldur.
"Those were some of the things Mommy warned us about." He said, looking around. "I do not know if there are any more of them."
I tilted my head. "They did not seem scary."
"You killed them, Percy. You ended their lives without an issue."
I floated, trying to figure out what he meant.
I frowned. "Does that make me a bad person?" Tears welled in my eyes. "Like Ocean Master?"
Kaldur quickly shook his head. "No! You did not do it purely because you wanted to!"
"But I still killed them..."
He wrapped his arms around me. "It is okay. You were not trying to kill them were you?"
I shook my head. "No."
"Then it does not matter." Kaldur held me in the hug until I stopped trying to pull away.
"Everybody go play while I call your parents."
Kaldur let go of me. He grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the playground.
"Do you wish to finish our game?" He asked the other kids.
"Can we talk about how she was playing with serpents?" A boy crossed his arms.
"There is no reason we need to speak of it." Kaldur sat on a bench, pulling me to sit with him.
"Then we will not play any games with you."
Kaldur sighed as the boy swam away. He looked over at me. "I am sorry. Do you want to play a game with me?"
I shook my head.
"Please?"
"No Kaldur." My shoulder's fell and I tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.
He nodded and looked away, before pulling his shoulder length hair into a high ponytail. It ended up hanging mostly out.
"You have pretty hair." I mumbled, moving to fix it like Mommy has done for him.
"Percy, my hair is cool. Yours is pretty."
"Why can your hair not be both?"
"There are reasons."
"Like?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Um...because they...uh..."
"You cannot think of any!" I laughed.
"Yes I can!" He pulled me back down next to him. "I need time."
I looked around the playground as Kaldur held onto my hand.
I bit the inside of my lip as a few kids swam by, laughing.
"What is it?" Kaldur asked without looking at me.
"Nothing. When do you think Mommy will come and get us?"
"Soon."
I nodded. Leaning against him, I kicked my feet. We waited there for a little while before hands covered my eyes.
"Hello Mommy." A smile spread acros my face.
She easily lifted me up and held me close to her. "You are okay, correct? They did not hurt you?"
I shook my head and wrapped my arms around her.
"And you my son?"
"I am fine, Mommy. Are we going home?" Kaldur asked.
"Yes we are. And I doubt you will return here anytime soon. Someone will be sent to see how exactly the serpents made it so close to you."
Mommy grabbed Kaldur's hand and started swimming away. I held tight to her.
"Mommy, can I carry her?" Kaldur asked.
"Percy, do you want-" Mommy stopped as I pulled away from her and grabbed onto Kaldur.
We arrived home and I let go of Kaldur.
I yawned and rubbed my eyes. "Do you want to do anything?"
He placed a finger to his lips and waved for me to follow him. Hiding around the corner of the doorway, we could hear Mommy speaking with Daddy.
I could not understand what they were saying. It did not sound anything like how they talk around us.
I looked at Kaldur, confused. He looked at me with wide eyes
I swam into the kitchen and tugged on Mommy's hand. "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing, my little princess." Daddy picked me up. "How about we put you and your brother down for a nap? You have had quite the stressful day."
Okay not going to lie
I cannot write four year olds
You know why?
The two four year olds I really know
One is super hyper and my mom has said she has no idea why they let her do half the stuff she does
(I thought I was a hyper child. I would just run around the house in circles. This kid just....there are so many things I could say. But i won't cause she's kinda a sweetheart, even if I can'tunderstand her)
The other is my little sister
Who's name is Kharma. Which is why I will spell karma as kharma cause you know, why not
Anyway
My sister, at four years old, tried to set a cat on fire.
So I have a kid who I don't understand and the sister who was raised watching the Walking Dead as a toddler.
And who I haven't seen since last year.
Anyway...
What do y'all want to see?
See yah
