I leaned against Kaldur, staring out over a field.

"This is nice." He mumbled, wrapping his arm around me.

"It is." I sighed. "How long do you think you will be able to hold this?"

"Long enough for you to get a good night's rest."

The world around us shuddered and cracks appeared in the landscape. Kaldur's tattoos glowed and those cracks slowly healed.

"You are going to be exhausted when we wake up." I said.

"I will be fine." He moved me so I was on his lap, facing him. "You need your rest more than I do."

I rolled my eyes, wrapping my arms around him. "I love you so much, but you need rest as much as I do."

"I am not the one who suffers from flashbacks and PTSD induced nightmares."

Kaldur's fingers pulled through my hair and we sat there. He hummed softly, not faltering even as I heard the world around us begin to crumble.

"You cannot hold this any longer Kaldur."

"I can attempt-"

"You will only hurt yourself if you do not relinquish control. We both know how much strain this puts on both your mind and your body."

"You do not deserve to suffer."

I gently ran my fingers over Kaldur's hair as he continued to sleep.

There was a knock on my door, which I ignored. Then the knock came again.

"Percy? Are you awake?" Megan called. "It's time for breakfast."

I got up and pushed the dresser away from my door. I opened the door. "I am going to pass on- Megan! Please put me down!"

I flailed in the air, fighting against an intangible force.

"Not until you eat."

I sighed. "Can I at the very least cover Kaldur with a blanket? His mother said he had caught a surface illness and I do not want him getting sick again."

My feet touched the ground and I walked back to Kaldur. I pulled the blanket over him, kissing his head afterwards.

He shifted and mumbled a few words in his sleep, leading to me chuckling.

"Rest now." I mumbled before walking out to the kitchen with Megan.

"Where's Kaldur?" Connor asked.

"He is asleep." I took the plate Megan handed me and began eating.

"That's weird, he's usually awake by now." She said, sitting down.

"He has always been an early riser."

"Who's an early riser?" Black Canary walked in.

"Black Canary, I thought training was going to be in the afternoon today?" Megan asked.

"Robin, Kid Flash and Artemis have recieved an assignment from Batman. I thought we could take some time and work on some more skills. Where's Aqualad?"

"Asleep." I replied.

"Go wake him up, I'll need you all to do this."

Sighing I left to go wake him up, pausing in my doorway when I saw him already awake.

He was sitting up, staring at his shaking hands. Tears trailed down his face.

"Kaldur," I spoke softly.

He looked up at me and opened his arms. I sat next to him and pulled him into a hug. His arms wrapped around me.

Fear washed through me and his grip on me tightened. His fingers dug into me and a small whimper escaped his throat.

I sighed. "What was it?"

"I...You..." Another wave of fear washed through me as he struggled to form a sentence.

My heart was beating fast and panic rose in my veins. There was no way for me to use my own emotions to calm him.

"I am right here. We are both safe." I mumbled. "Calm down, please... I will go get Black Canary."

"Percy." He whimpered. "Do not leave me."

"I will not, okay? Please just...just calm down. You are making me panic." Tears began to fall from my eyes as I watched my normally calm brother fail to control his emotions.

My breathing grew heavier and I clung to Kaldur.

"Percy? Kaldur? Are you two in- Are you okay?" Black Canary asked.

When she didn't recieve a response, she gently pulled me away from Kaldur and stood in front of us.

"Can you two tell me why you're upset?" She asked.

Kaldur pulled me onto his lap, wrapping his arms back around me.

"Kaldur, tell me what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare from the failed exercise?"

"Do not leave me." He whispered.

"I am not leaving if I can help it." I mumbled.

"Kaldur, answer me so I can help you." Black Canary attempted once again to get an answer.

Kaldur swallowed. "When...when we were younger, we- I allowed the two of us to be kidnapped. Percy got hurt and I see it again and again and every time I...I..." He broke off into sobs.

"Do you want me to call Mother?" I asked.

"No, she does not need to worry about this." He sniffed and pulled me closer.

Black Canary rested a hand on Kaldur's shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No..."

I wiped my eyes and stood up. "Listen to me Kaldur, you need to talk to her about-"

"You refuse to speak of anything that has happened to you! Why should I do it when you won't?!"

"Because I promised to never speak of that stuff again and I am not breaking another promise. I already broke two to her and I am not breaking another. We swore we would tell everyone a altered version of events and that no one, not even our parents would learn the truth." Tears were falling down my face again. I walked towards the door.

"Percy, don't walk out that door." Black Canary warned.

"I am going to talk to Will. Maybe he will not be as judgemental."
