Kaldur was sitting on the couch reading when I walked in.

Without a word I sat next to him, looking over to see that the book was written in English.

I sighed. I may know English, but it is my fourth language. If you take into account my dyslexia, my avoidance of English texts is very much understandable.

Kaldur shifted his grip on the book, moving his arm. "Do you wish for me to read aloud?"

"If you want to." I laid down, my head resting on his leg. "What are you reading?"

"A book Megan recommended."

I nodded and listened as he started reading. Water from his cup rose and drifted to my hands, it swirled gently around them.

"Percy, can you put it back? I need to take a drink."

I sighed and dropped the water back in his cup. "You are no fun."

"Do you wish for me to read or not?" He said before taking a drink. He sat his cup down before continuing.

I tried my hardest to listen to him, but I could not prevent my mind from wandering.

"Are you okay?"

"Of course, why do you ask?"

"We both know your powers react to your emotions more than mine and I am content. So what is bothering you?"

I glanced at the cup, and the water within swirling aggressively.

"I told you I am okay, there is not much more I can say to assure that is the truth."

With a sigh Kaldur sat the book aside and pulled me up so I was sitting on his lap, my back against his chest.

"I am not sure there is anything you could do to make me believe that is the truth."

His arms prevented me from moving, though I did not want to. I was more than happy to be surrounded by my brother's warmth, to feel protected by him.

A smile appeared on my face as I relaxed.

"If anyone walks in, we will have our plan sealed in their mind." I said.

"It is not our fault Earthers do not share the familial values of our culture." He chuckled, pulling me closer.

He shifted me in his grip so I could face him. He placed his hands on the side of my face, resting his forehead on mine.

"Percy, I need you to listen to me. If you tell me what is wrong, I can attempt to help you. I am not saying that I will be able to, I am saying that I will try. And I am also saying that you can scream and cry as much as you want when you tell me, the only thing you cannot do is give up."

"Guys! We've got a problem!"

Later

I pressed my lips together as Klarion blocked all of Artemis and Robin's attacks. This is not good.

"That's the best you can do?" A grin spread across his face.

He held out a hand and a red burst of lightning shot down at my teammates.

Kaldur, Wally, and Connor rushed at Klarion while Megan and I stood back.

When our male teammates were ricocheted off of a barrier, I came out into the open. I shot water towards the barrier, mumbling various expletives as I did so.

"Heh, baby magic." He then spoke an incantation that launched me through the air.

I screamed, but did not hit the ground.

"Be more careful." Kaldur mumbled.

"You know I am holding back. If it comes down to it..."

"Not here, and not now. If we fail to merge the two worlds back into one children will have to deal with the aftermath. Alone."

I nodded and stood up, just in time to see Artemis's arrow be turned into a ball of yarn.

The cat just stared at it.

Klarion chuckled. "Show them what the familiar to a Lord of Chaos can do, Teekl."

The cat grew into a monster, maybe twice my height.

A sigh escaped me and I watched as Connor tried to punch Teekl.

"Do you wish to see how the familiar gets along with a hellhound?" I grinned at Kaldur.

I could hear Connor yell prior to me whistling.

"What are you trying to do?! Get yourself...killed?" Wally stared as growling emanated from behind me. "Why is there a poodle?"

Mrs O'Leary bounded at the cat, knocking him away from Connor.

The gem in the center of the circle began glowing.

"So you teamed up with the grownups. Teamwork is so overrated."

Lightning shot out of the stone, blasting Robin and Artemis backwards.

It also hit Kaldur but he placed a hand out to absorb it, his tattoos glowing.

I rushed to Artemis and Robin.

"Artemis, Robin!"

Artemis sat up rubbing her head. "We need-. Where's the bag at?"

"What?" I questioned.

Megan, Plan B.

On it.

The Bioship flew overhead and a bag dropped out of it.

Artemis unzipped the bag, revealing the Helmet of Fate.

Lightning struck nearby and I could hear Captain Marvel yell something before cutting off.

Don't shout Captain. I've linked you telepathically to the others.

That's so cool. I mean- It's the gem at the center of the pentagram. Destroy it, and we win.

Artemis reached for the helmet.

That's all I needed to know.

I stilled her hands, before taking the helmet into my own hands.

I took a deep breath and lifted it above my head.

"Percy!" Kaldur yelled.

"Stop!" Wally's voice rang as I put on the helmet.

Everything was black and I looked around.

"Wow." My voice echoed back at me.

"I gotta admit girlie, this is a foolish move. And that's coming from me."

I looked over at an old man who was smiling at me.

"My name's Kent Nelson, the old nobody who Fate used to put on."

"My name is Percy. Are you stuck here?"

He shook his head. "No, I just figured I'd keep Nabu company until he found his next host...I didn't think it would be someone quite so young."

"Well, it would have been someone younger if I had not put the helmet on."

Kent laughed. "You remind me of the last person to put the helmet on. What was his name...Kaldur was it?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Kaldur never spoke of wearing this."

"It's not something everyone is proud of. Some see it as a sign of weakness, which is how I'm guessing the boy views it."

I sighed. "That does not surprise me."

We stood in silence for a few moments.

"You know Fate won't release you right?"

"If he is anything like the Fates, I was not planning on it. But...there is always hope. Hope was the only thing to remain in Pandora's pithos, and as long as it remains there we shall always have it."

"Your hope is in vain." A voice echoed through the helmet.

"Nabu, release the girl."

"No."

Kaldur

I stared at Percy...Dr Fate, my hands shaking.

"Release her." I managed to keep my voice steady.

"No. Witnessing the havoc wrought in these hours, the world needs Doctor Fate. And the girl's natural affinity for the mystic arts makes her the perfect candidate."

My eyes widened and tears welled in my eyes. Mrs O'Leary whined at my distress before disappearing into a shadow to nurse her wounds.

"You can't do that!" Artemis yelled.

"Yeah you can't do that! She has her own life to live!" Robin added.

"Kent would never allow you to-"

"Kent Nelson did object, strenuously. So I released his spirit to the afterlife, he is gone."

I swallowed.

"Take-"

Thunder rumbled and lightning crashed between myself and Doctor Fate. A man wearing a pinstripe suit was standing there when I could see again.

"Release the girl Nabu."

"Who is that?" Wally asked.

"Why do you have any-"

"If you do not release the child, I will not be held responsible for the consequences of your actions. We have razed cities to the ground and-" A lightning bolt appeared in his hand. "I have no reason not to kill her so I may destroy your helmet."

Doctor Fate sighed before lowering to the ground and removing the helmet.

Percy stared at the man.

"If I knew any better, I'd say you actually like me."

Before he could respond...

I woke up.

Yep, I wrote out Zatanna.

And I don't care

But my mom is supposed to come home tomorrow so yay!

Also a small note

If you comment something and put lol at the end

I cannot tell if you are actually joking or if you're being a little bitch

And yes I just cussed but then again I was talking with my dad so that's to be expected

Anyway, don't get snippy if I reply one way or the other because I'm bad enough with getting jokes and stuff in real life

And uh

Ideas? (Aside from fistfights. I am beginning to get concerned.)

See yah
