Prompt: What I love about spring
"What I love about spring is the beautiful flowers. Of course, none of them are as beautiful as you," Kai declared with a flirty attitude, holding a bouquet of blossoming roses in his hand. "No, that's not right. You're the best spring flower. No, flowers bloom in honor of you." He stared into his own amber eyes in the mirror and groaned.
"I'll never get this right!" He brushed a fallen petal off his sleek black tuxedo, and set the flowers down. Taking a deep breath, he began again.
"Of all the spring flowers, you're the only one I admire," he said, striking a very flirty Kai-like pose. "Spring flowers wish they had your beauty," he winked at the mirror. It was very flirty, and it wasn't too bad of a line, but something just didn't feel right. "Skylor's the prettiest girl ever, deserves a perfect line," he scolded himself. The fire ninja was just about to lose it when he heard a voice from the other room.
"I love you P.I.X.A.L, and no pick up line could express that. My love is genuine, and every day is more sunny and bright when I'm with you," Zane confessed to P.I.X.A.L in the bedroom next to Kai. He pressed his ear up against the door and listened for Pix's response.
"I love you too, Zane. That was beautiful."
Kai sighed, tired of ideas not coming to him. Zane and Pixal were a happy couple, so were Jay and Nya and Cole and Seliel. If he could just find the right words to say to Skylor when they met at the noodle shop that day....
"That's it! Maybe I can try Zane's way, and show her that she's not just any random girl I flirt with," he realized. He walked back over to the mirror and smiled. A genuine smile this time, not a flirty one. He held the flowers out towards his reflection as if it were Skylor.
"Skylor, I love you, and my favorite part of spring is spending it with you," he declared, his eyes closed in concentration.
"I feel the same," A familiar voice said from the doorway. Kai whirled around to see the one and only Skylor.
"What? I-I!"
"Sorry for the intrusion. I didn't realize I was the amazing girl you were confessing to. I came over to see Nya, and wanted to check up on you, too."
"So...."
"I'll be your girlfriend, Kai, if that's what you want," Skylor smiled. Kai jumped into the air excitedly and then blushed at his antics. Skylor didn't roll her eyes or lecture him. She just kissed him.
"The best part of spring is spending it with you,"
