For some, it takes just one hit...

Others claim that they aren't hooked... They just like the high.

Addiction is HELL!!!!

Cloaked in secrecy...

Sometimes out in the open for the world to view...

Addiction is a scourge on the entire human race...

Suffering the affliction of addiction for years myself, I don't believe that anyone really wants to be addicted.

Weakness

No insurance

No support system

No will to live

Those are common reasons for continued addiction.

Once overcome by a substance a person's willpower can become nonexistent. Decisions that seem easy to the non addicted person may become astronomical for the addicted.

There have been so many campaigns to Stamp Out Drugs...

So much money poured into The War On Drugs...

So much time wasted on Court Ordered Rehabilitation...

The suffering addict who wants help has so little to look forward to.

Some twenty eight day program with the emphasis on income for the provider than recovery for the addict.

A revolving door that allows the addict to detox and acquire an even stronger desire to use.

A virtual life sentence to addiction...

Non of us shall remain untouched by the scourge of addiction unless or broken system gets a "fix".

Directly or indirectly addiction will reach us.

In the words of a famous NA slogan...

"One is too many and a thousand is never enough..."

Please have mercy on the suffering addict.
