The hybrids I call family part 6
Sorry for being gone for so long. Enjoy :)
The room went silent. Everyone stared at Rainbow Dash. Rainbow looked around at them, not really sure how to respond. Applejack broke the silence.
"That was your sister?" She asked, a hint of shock in her voice. "And you wanna go see her right now?"
Rainbow nodded.
Applejack looked at the others.
"Welp. We're gonna go see her sister. Anyone else comin?" She asked.
All the girls immediately raised their hand. Rainbow looked at Applejack, eyes wide.
"Wait, really? You wanna take me?" She said.
Applejack nodded.
"Yeah, why not?"
She shrugged.
"You don't have to." Rainbow said, not wanting Applejack to feel obligated to go with her. "I can just go by myself....."
The other girls all turned and looked at her. Rainbow saw the looks on their faces and shrunk back. Going by herself wasn't an option.
"Never mind." She said quietly.
"This is so exciting!" Pinkie exclaimed, jumping up and down. "We get to meet Rainbow's sister. I bet she's just as awesome."
Rainbow smiled. Applejack looked at her.
"C'mon. Rarity'll drive. You know the address?"
Rainbow nodded.
"Yeah. It's 235 Crescent moon drive." She said.
"Alright, gals." Applejack announced. "Let's get a move on."
The girls got ready and they piled into Rarity's car. Rainbow had apparently never been in a car like this. It was a dark purple Lamborghini with tinted windows. The inside had black leather seats. There were buttons and lit up switches and compartments and even a screen on the front where the radio was. Rainbow couldn't resist the urge to touch and explore the new surroundings. She looked around, her curious nature coming out. The others let her get a scent and a feel to the car. Otherwise she might do that while they were on the road. Once Rainbow got a feel for it, Rarity tried starting the car. The engine roared to life, startling Rainbow Dash. Buttons lit up and the air condition turned on.
Applejack turned the air to warm. It was cold enough outside. She looked at Rainbow Dash.
"Alright, RD. Settle down now and put your seatbelt on."
Rainbow ignored her at first. Applejack had to physical sit her down and put the seatbelt on her. Rainbow pouted, not liking the feeling of being restrained. She stayed still, however, and looked out the window as Rarity started to drive. The ride was fairly quiet, the girls not saying much. Rainbow Dash stared out the window, the outside world passing by.
She was so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't notice Applejack staring at her. Applejack was wondering what Rainbow must be thinking and feeling. She couldn't imagine. Was she excited? Was she nervous? Was scared? All three and more? What about her sister? Why was Rainbow so desperate to see her? Was her sister in an unsafe environment?
Guess they'll just have to see.
The drive seemed to last forever. However, it was only a few minutes. Soon, Rarity was parking in front of a white two story house. The grass was cut. The was a red scooter laying on the front yard. Rainbow tensed up as she stared at the house.
"I think someone's home." Fluttershy noted. "There's a car in the driveway."
The girls all turned their heads and looked. She was right. There was a car in the driveway. Rainbow unbuckled her seatbelt.
"You guys can wait here if you want." She said.
She looked at Applejack. Applejack gave her a look.
"If you think for even a second that Ah'm gonna let you go in there, with strangers that don't know you, alone, you're crazier than a squirrel on a sugar rush. C'mon."
Rainbow sighed in defeat. The girls got out. They walked up the driveway and up to the front door. Rainbow rung the doorbell immediately.
"Geez, RD. Cool it down." Applejack said.
Rainbow looked at her and shrugged. She looked back at the door when she heard it opening. There stood a woman. She was quite beautiful. Light brown skin and short violet colored hair. Her dark purple eyes were wide when she saw the girls.
"Hi. Can I help you?"
She looked at Rainbow Dash. She smiled gently.
"You must be Rainbow Dash." She said. "Scootaloo's told us about you so many times. She's up in her room."
Rainbow looked at Applejack, confused. She looked at the woman.
"She did?"
The woman nodded.
"Of course. Come on in."
The girls entered the house. They looked around. It was a pretty decent home, kinda fancy yet comfy.
Rainbow looked at the woman.
"How has she been?" She asked, keeping her voice down, worry clear in her face.
The woman looked at her and smiled.
"Um, she's been good from what I can tell. She misses you like crazy. She talks and asks about you a lot. You girls close?"
Rainbow nodded, folding her arms.
"We've been together for as long as I can remember. It's been hard without her around the past few months. But I've managed. She's in a good home with people that love her."
"I'll go get her. I'm sure she'll be more than happy."
The woman walked away. She left the room. Rainbow started playing with her tail nervously. Applejack glances at her, noticing her change of emotion.
"You ok?" She asked, nudging Rainbow's arm gently.
Rainbow looked at her and took a deep breath. She nodded.
"Yeah."
Suddenly there was the sound of quick footsteps. Like someone was running.
"RAINBOW DASH!!"
Suddenly a little girl ran into the room. She stopped and looked up. The girl looked to be about twelve or thirteen years old. She had short, feathery purple colored hair and orangey hued skin. Her lilac colored eyes were wide with joy when she saw Rainbow. But the surprising thing was the ears on top of her head.
"Scoots!!" Rainbow exclaimed.
The two sisters ran towards each other. They met in the middle and embraced each other. Rainbow laughed quietly, her smile bright. She pressed the younger girl to her. Her eyes filled with tears.
"I'm so sorry." She croaked. "I didn't mean to be separated from you."
Scootaloo shook her head.
"Don't be sorry, Rainbow. I'm just happy to see you again. I thought I never would. But we're together again."
Rainbow pulled away and looked down at her sister. She kissed her on the forehead and hugged her again.
"I'll never leave you like that again. I promise. I'm here now."
Scootaloo seemed to be getting emotional as well. She hugged Rainbow tightly. It was quite a sight.
Applejack smiled, pride filling her. She was happy for the both of them. She turned her head and looked at her friends. The girls were all tearing up. Typical. AJ rolled her eyes, still smiling. She looked back at the sisters. She could tell that they were very close. Rainbow looked so happy, her eyes bright and lively.
Applejack could tell that Scootaloo was going to be around a whole lot more. Applejack smiled. Watching Rainbow Dash, seeing her so happy, she didn't mind one bit.
So yeah. Comment :)
