"We are??."

Applejack nodded, a grin on her face.

"Yup. We're going to the pool today. Mah dad told me."

Applejack prompted herself on her elbowed, watching Rainbow. Rainbow smiled brightly. She loved pools. She loved water. Not as much as land activities like soccer or lacrosse or zip lining, but pretty close.

"Awesome!!."

Applejack chuckled. "Go find your bathin' suit and get dressed. Put a t-shirt over the top."

Rainbow gave a salute.

"Yes, mom." She said mockingly, getting out of bed.

Applejack kicked her in the butt. Rainbow jumped and turned around, her mouth open.

"Hey!!." She exclaimed. "Um, assault??."

Applejack smirked.

"Ah know damn well you wouldn't mind if ah held you down n done worse."

Rainbow made an 'eh' face. "Maybe."

Applejack picked up a pillow and aimed it at her girlfriend.

"Shower. Get dressed. Go. Now."

Rainbow stuck her tongue out at her

"Whatever."

She turned and went to get her bathing suit from her luggage. She found it, she stood up and looked at Applejack to see her watching her.

"Stop staring at my butt." She said with a smirk. "I know I'm hot, but you're being a creep."

"You're my girlfriend." Applejack said simply. "Ah'm allowed at stare at your flat butt. But, I was lookin' at your face, thank ya very much."

Rainbow pouted.

"You're mean." She grumbled, crossing her arms.

Applejack got out of bed. She walked up to Rainbow and wrapped her arms around her waist. She smiled softly.

"Ah know. Ah'm sorry, Rainbow. Ah really am bein' to ya. Ah don't know why ah keep doin' that."

Rainbow leaned up and kissed her on the nose.

"It's cool. I'm being an dumb butthead anyway."

"Now go get ready."

Rainbow tilted her head to the side, in a thoughtful manner.

"Speaking of assault, I think my dad tried to do that when I was like twelve."

Applejack's eyes grew wide, not saying a word. Rainbow looked at her. She saw Applejack's face and looked away.

"Um. Sorry. Let's not talk about that."

Applejack gripped Rainbow's face with a hand, making Rainbow look at her.

"Ah love you." Applejack said. "Never forget that. Just because we're on vacation, that don't mean we can't talk bout this stuff. If you need ta talk about anythin', anythin' at all, tell me. Okay??."

Rainbow nodded. "Okay."

Rainbow bit her lip, looking around.

"AJ??." She said, her voice laced with fear. "Do you think my dad could find us if he ever got out??. Like, do you think he would follow us here??."

Applejack gave her a small smile.

"No, RD. You have a restrainin' order on him. Now, do you want me ta stay in the bathroom with ya ta keep ya company?."

Rainbow made a pshhh sound, a dismissive hand wave.

"Nah. I'm not a baby."

Rainbow walked over to the bathroom. She looked around in the dark room. She suddenly screamed and stumbled back.

"What's wrong??." Applejack, rushing to her side.

She knelt down to help Rainbow up. Rainbow was covering her face with her hands.

"Rainbow." Applejack said. "What scared you like that??."

Rainbow pulled her hands from her face. She looked at the blond teen.

"My reflection scared me." She said in embarrassment

Applejack helped her up.

"Your anxiety is startin' ta act up. You need your medicine. Ya sure you don't need me ta keep ya company in there?? Ah will if you want me to."

Rainbow blushed, looking at the floor. She meekly nodded.

"Yes, please."

Applejack chuckled. "Alright. Go on. Ah'll be there in a minute."

Rainbow headed into the bathroom, leaving the door open a crack. Applejack sighed quietly. Even in the perfect vacation, away from Equestria, Rainbow's dad still managed to find his way into Rainbow's mind.

"Damn you, Lightning." Applejack grumbled. "Stay on your side of the ocean n' stay out of Rainbow's mind for the rest of our vacation."

Applejack was gonna make sure Rainbow forgot all about her fears by the time the day was over.

"Here you go."

Applejack handed Rainbow the two small capsules, one dark blue, the other dark green. Rainbow swallowed them one by one with water. After she took them, she took a few more sips from the water bottle and then screwed the cap back on.

"Thanks." She said, putting the water bottle down on the table.

"No problem." AJ said, running her fingers through Rainbow's soft hair.

The girls and men ate their breakfast, talking a bit as they did. When they finished, they headed to the pool. It was a hike to get to the pools. There was more than one. The resort was pretty big, so there were multiple pools needed for the scattered resident buildings.

Once they arrived, Rainbow's jaw dropped. The pool was gigantic. There was tons of people. There was a bar in the center of it all, stools set up around it for people to sit.

"Wow." She said in aw.

"C'mon." Jackson said. "Let's go. Make sure y'all put sunscreen on."

The four found some chairs to put their towels and bags. Once they were settled in, Applejack fished out some sunscreen. Jackson made sure to buy the 100 SPF sunscreen. They did not need to get sun poisoning. No thanks.

"Alright, babe." Applejack said to Rainbow.

"C'mere and hold still."

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash and froze. Rainbow was in the process of taking her shirt off. It seemed to go in slow motion, Rainbow pulling the shirt over her head, exposing her abs. With the sunscreen, Rainbow's skin shone in the sun.

Rainbow tossed her shirt into her bag and shook out her long hair. She looked up at Applejack. Rainbow raised an eyebrow.

"Applejack?? You alright??."

Applejack shook herself out of her trance, blushing.

"Yeah. C'mere."

Rainbow walked up to her, gathering up all her hair, pulling it out of the way. She stood as still as she could while Applejack applied sunscreen to her face, neck, shoulders, behind her legs, and all over her back. Rainbow did the rest of her body herself. Then, she did the same for Applejack.

The girls grabbed their swimming goggles and headed straight to the pool, making sure to tell Strike and Jackson.

They found the stairs and started their way down. When they were ankles deep in the water on the first step, they realized how cold the water was.

"Oh my goodness." Rainbow giggled, looking at Applejack. "It's so cold."

Applejack laughed and nodded.

"C'mon. We can do this." She said.

The girls slowly eased their way into the water, step by step. When they were standing stomach deep in the pool, they were shivering.

"This is so cold." Rainbow said. "Let's dunk out heads underwater."

Applejack nodded. They put their goggles on, securing them in place. They then looked each other.

"Ready??." Applejack asked, pinching her nose.

Rainbow copied and nodded.

"1, 2, 3!."

The both held their breath and submerged themselves underwater. They could see themselves with help from the goggles. The teens waved at each other. They stood up, lifting their heads out of the water. They breathed in some air, laughing.

Rainbow pushed her hair out of her face.

"That's better. This water feels good now."

Applejack nodded. "C'mon."

She took Rainbow's hand and they walked further into the pool to the deep side. Luckily they could both swim. Rainbow was not that great in the water since she didn't swim very often growing up, so she didn't swim as well as Applejack. So, Applejack made sure to stay by her side, and hold her hand or arm most of the time. It also gave Applejack an excuse to hold Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow giggled as Applejack swam around, pulling her like a train.

"This is awesome." Rainbow said. "I like spending time with you."

Applejack took Rainbow by the arms. She turned around and Rainbow wrapped her arms around her neck. Applejack smiled and wrapped Rainbow's legs around her waist, her arms holding her up underwater.

"Thank you. Ah love spendin' time with you, too."

Rainbow pecked her on the lips. Then again. Then again. The two stared at each other, smiling like idiots, not noticing anyone else around them.

"Hey, love birds."

They were snapped back into reality. They turned their heads to see Strike and Jackson there, Strike holding up a small, yellow disposable camera.

"Hey."

Jackson and Strike swam over to them.

"How long have you been there??." Rainbow asked, blushing.

"Long enough." Strike replied. "I got a few pictures with this thing. It's water proof, we can take pictures underwater, too."

Applejack smiled at Rainbow.

"Look at chu blushin." She teased

Rainbow's face and the tip of her ears grew redder. She looked away.

"You know what pose would be cute??." Strike said. "A pic of your girls underwater. Like those sappy underwater kissy couple pics you see online."

Rainbow and Applejack looked at each other.

"That would kinda cute." Applejack agreed, grinning.

The girls took off their goggles.

"Ready??." Strike asked.

The girls faced each other.

"On three." Jackson said. "One, two, three."

The girls and Strike submerged themselves underwater.

Rainbow and Applejack looked at each other and smiled. Applejack pulled Rainbow towards her by her waist, wrapping her arms around her. They pressed their lips together, closing their eyes. They held the kiss for a few seconds before pulling away. Applejack took Rainbow's hand and they surfaced.

Breaching the surface, they wiped the water and hair out of their faces.

"Did you get it??." Rainbow asked, looking at her uncle.

Strike nodded, grinning.

"Yup. Now we just gotta wait to get these developed later on."

Applejack's stomach suddenly rumbled.

"Ah'm hungry."

Jackson looked at his waterproof watch.

"I guess we can go get something to eat. Then, if you girls want, we can either come back or head back to our rooms."

The girls nodded. They all got out of the pool. They found the showers and rinsed off. They dried themselves as best they could, got dressed and got their stuff.

"There's a mall around here." Strike said, drying his hair with his towel. "We gotta take a cart to it. So let's head back to the hotel."

Rainbow, Applejack, Strike, and Jackson walked all the way back to the front area of the hotel and waited with some other people Soon enough a cart train came up, driven by a guy. Everyone got on and they drove off the hotel grounds and down a long path to another part of the resort.

Rainbow and Applejack sat in the back. They held on to the vehicle, their hair blowing over their shoulders as they went along the ride.

The train thing came to a large building. Everyone got off.

"Alright." Jackson said. "Let's see what they have here."

Rainbow suddenly sniffed the air.

"Do you guys smell that??."

Applejack looked at her. Rainbow sniffled the air again.

"I smell something awesome." Rainbow said, taking Applejack by the wrist. "C'mon."

She walked into the mall, following the smell. Strike and Jackson had no choice but to follow her inside

Rainbow led the way. They walked in the open roofed mall. There were fountains and trees planted inside. They walked along one side, passing store after store. Rainbow suddenly stopped and turned.

"Bingo."

Applejack, Strike, and Jackson turned to see what she saw. A pizza place.

Applejack looked at Rainbow.

"You hang out with Pinkie too much." She chuckled. "But at least ya found us a place ta eat."

"Let's eat here." Rainbow said, looking at the men. "Can we??."

"Sure." Strike said.

"This pizza is so awesome." Rainbow said, before taking another pizza.

Applejack nodded. "You said it, Partner."

She took a sip of her water and looked at Rainbow Dash. She chuckled.

"Rainbow."

Rainbow looked at her, pausing halfway of taking a huge bite of her pizza. Rainbow had sauce all over her cheeks, nose, and chin. Rainbow finished her bite and chewed on the mouthful of cheese and tomato sauce. She raised an eyebrow and looked at her uncle.

Strike and Jackson looked at her and smiled.

"I gotta take a pic of this." Strike said, picking up his phone.

He switched to the camera app and held up his phone. Rainbow ignored him, going back to eating her pizza. She heard a snap sound from the camera. Rainbow stuffed the last of her pizza crust into her mouth and chewed.

"So, what now??." Applejack asked. "Ah think Rainbow's had enough pizza."

Rainbow swallowed the food in her mouth and looked at her.

"How do you know?."

Applejack looked at her.

"Rainbow," she said, giving her a look. "You eaten three small pizzas already. You're good for the day."

"But it's so good." Rainbow whined.

"Well if ya keep askin' for more." Strike said. "I'll be broke."

Rainbow sighed. "Fine."

The she perked up. "Can we come back another day for lunch??."

"Sure, kiddo." Strike said. "You guys want some dessert to take back to your room??."

Rainbow nodded, a huge smile on her face. "Cookie-brownie pie!."

Strike chuckled and stood up out of his chair.

"I'll do order two of them. One for you guys and one one for us."

Strike walked away. Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash.

"You're gonna be so hyper after you eat that. Ah won't let you eat it all."

Rainbow leaned back.

"I'll be fine, AJ. You worry too much."

Applejack sighed.

She watched Rainbow who was laying on the floor.

"I don't think turtleducks would make a good hybrid. I mean they'd be cool to watch, the process of a duck and a turtle having sex seems a bit disturbing. And I mean I get a lot of breeding like a horse and zebra or a lion and tiger, which is pretty cool, but I don't get like a chihuahua and like... a husky. That's no"

Rainbow looked at Applejack with a gasp

"Imagine Pokémon breeding."

Rainbow looked like she just figured out the cure for the common cold.

"That'd be so epic. Like a charmander and a Pikachu. That would shoot fireballs that are charged with electricity."

"That'd be dangerous." Applejack commented sleepily

Rainbow looked at her girlfriend and frowned.

"Are you okay?? You look tired."

Applejack chuckled. "Ah am. It's like two-thirty in the mornin. We really should go ta sleep."

Rainbow got off the floor and went up to the bed. She climbed into bed. She laid down. Applejack turned off the light and got into bed as well. When she looked at Rainbow, Rainbow was looking at her, staring blankly. It was kinda weird, but Applejack had seen way weirder things.

"I can't sleep." Rainbow said bluntly

No shit.

Applejack sighed. "C'mere."

Rainbow scooted over to Applejack. Applejack wrapped an arm under Rainbow Dash, letting her lay her head down on her shoulder. Rainbow sighed in contentment.

"You're comfortable." She said, closing her eyes.

Applejack smiled. She began to run her fingers through Rainbow's hair.

"Just go to sleep, babe." She whispered.

"Mhm."

Applejack played with Rainbow's hair, knowing this would soothe her. The quiet sound of a soft snore sealed the deal. Applejack sighed. Her eyes were so heavy, she could hardly keep them open another second. So, she closed them and let herself finally drift off to sleep.
