"When is everyone gon' be here??".

Jackson shrugged. "They'll come", he said. "The Apple family is always together fir thanksgivin".

Apples smiled. She finished setting the table. Her family was coming over for Thanksgiving. Applejack's family ways spent holidays together. The turkey was in the oven. The table was set.

"They're here".

Applejack smiled. She heard the front door opening. She heard voices. Applejack turned and walked out out of the dining room. She walked out to the front door. She smiled. Her sister, Granny and big brother stood there.

"Hey", she said.

"Applejack!!".

Her little sister Applebloom ran up to her, smiling. Applejack lifted her up, hugging her.

"How ya doin??", Applejack asked.

She put the kid down. Applejack smiled brightly at her.

"Great. You won't believe what happened at school".

"What happened??".

The two walked down the hall. Applejack excitedly told her sister about whatever. Applejack nodded and listened. Her family and her went into the living room.

They sat down on the couch.

"So", Big Mac said. "Have you found a speacial someone Applejack??".

Applejack blushed. "Nah. I haven't. I just haven't found the right person".

"What about that girl across the street??", Jackson said grinning. "You like her".

Granny Smith, Applebloom, and Big Mac grinned.

"Aww. Do ya now??", Granny Smith said smirking. "What she like??".

Applejack rubbed her arm, smiling.

"She's cool. Her name is Rainbow Dash. She's the captain of every sports team in school".

"Is she nice??", Applebloom asked.

Applejack nodded, smiling. "Yeah. She's really funny an sweet. She's the most loyal person you'll ever find around and the bestest friend in the world".

"Well", Granny Smith said smiling. "Ain't that cute. You have a crush on this gal??".

Applejack blushed. "Yeah".

The elder woman chuckled. "Kids these days are so sensitive to liking eachother".

Applejack laughed quietly. Man, her family was something else.

"When we do we eat??", Applebloom asked.

Applejack smiled at the 12 year old.

"In a few", she said. "Hold yir horses. Dad, can ya check on the turkey??. It should be ready in a little bit".

Jackson smiled. "Sure. Be right back".

Jackson stood up and walked out of the room. Applejack and her siblings talked about school and what not. Applejack looked out of the window.

She saw the leaves outside on the lawn.

"Hey", she said, lookimg at Big Mac and Applebloom.

"Ya'll wanna play outside??. We got piles of leaves".

Applebloom smiled widely. "Yeah!!. C'mon!!".

"I'll come with", Granny Smith said, getting up.

"Me too".

Jackson walked into the room, smiling.

"We've got about another 20 minutes until the turkey is ready. We kinda put it in the oven later than we wanted".

"Oh don't worry bout it", Granny Smith said smiling. "Let's go have fun outside".

The family went outside, grabbing their coats and hats. The air was chilly yet warm. The group ran out to the lawn. They ran around, playing in the leaves and laughing.

Applejack ran from her brother. Big Mac chased after her, laughing. He caught up to the blonde girl and grabbed her. Applejack laughed as he spun her arm. She was put down.

"Ah love it when ya'll are here".

"Me too", Applebloom said before jumping into a pile of leaves.

Applejack placed a hand on her hip. She suddenly caught something on the corner of her eye.

Turning her head. She saw Rainbow Dash walking down the sidewalk with her dog. Applejack felt her heart flutter at the sight of the girl.

"Is that Rainbow Dash??".

Applejack turned her head. She saw her family looking at her. She smiled.

"Yeah".

"She's quite a sight, if ah do say so mahself", Granny Smith said.

Applejack looked back at Rainbow.

"Hey Rainbow!!", she called.

Rainbow heard her and looked her way. The teen smiled and waved. She and her dog made their way over to the family.

"Hey. What's up??".

Applejack smiled. "This is mah fam'ly", she said. "You've met mah dad. This is mah lil sis Applebloom. Mah big bro Big Mac. And this here is Granny Smith".

"Well howdy there Rainbow", Granny said.

Rainbow smiled. "Hey. Nice to meet you guys".

"So", Big Mac said. "You girls know eachother??".

The teens nodded. Rainbow placed her elbow on Applejack's shoulder.

"Apples here is my best friend. She's the toughest and coolest person I know. Next to me, of coarse".

Applejack chuckled and crossed her arms.

"Oh really??. Ah recall last week when ah totally pinned ya down fair an square".

Rainbow huffed. "Yeah right. Fair and square, snare and share. Sure thing freckles".

"Rainbow", Jackson said. "Where are yir folks??".

Rainbow's smile fell. "Umm".

She rubbed her arm. Applejack frowned.

"I don't have any".

Applejack's eyes widened.

"What??".

Rainbow shrugged. "I don't have any family".

"Really??".

Rainbow nodded. Applejack couldn't believe it. Why was she just now finding out about this??.

"Rainbow. Why am ah just findin' out bout this??".

Rainbow shrugged. "The subject never came up with us. Plus, I don't like talking about it".

"Wait", Jackson spoke up. "Then who do you live with??".

"I live alone", Rainbow replied simply.

The family looked her in shock.

"How do ya pay bills fir a hiuse??".

"The government".

Applejack looked at her. She felt bad.

"What happened to em??".

Rainbow sighed. "Car accident killed my mom, my dad and my sister when I was younger".

She looked at the ground. "I was the only one to survive".

Applejack reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Ah'm so sorry Rainbow".

Rainbow shrugged. Suddenly her dog whimpered. Rainbow looked at the large dog. She smiled and pet the dog's head slowly.

"It's okay Tank", she said. "It's alright. Now. Let's get go an have our own Thanksgiving".

Applejack raised an eyebrow.

"You cooked??".

Rainbow laughed. "No. I'm making turkey and cheese sandwiches for dinner. Duh".

Rainbow smiled and knelt down beside her dog.

"This guy right here is all the family I have. So I have alot to be thankful for".

Tank licked her teeth happily. Rainbow giggled.

"I love you too boy".

Applejack knelt down.

"Do you always spend hoidays alone??".

Rainbow looked at her. She smiled. "I have Tank with me. We spend the while year together. Just me and him. As in a way, yeah. I mean. I don't get Christmas presents or birthday gifts except from you and the other girls. But Tank is the only real family I have left".

Rainbow looked at her dog sadly.

"If anything were to happen to him...... I'd be alone".

Applejack shook her head. "No you wouldn't. You have me and our friends. Wed still be there. Ah would".

Rainbow smiled. She stood up. Applejack did too. Rainbow sighed.

"Thanks. Well uh. You guys should be getting to dinner soon. Me and Tank have some sandwiches and movies waiting".

"Actually", Jackson said.

Rainbow looked at him. The man stepped foward.

"Would you like to join us for dinner??".

Rainbow did not expect that. Her eyes widened.

"What??. Really??".

Jackson smiled and nodded. "Yeah. We'd love ta have you and Tank be our guests".

"It ain't right fir anyone ta be alone on Thanksgivin", Granny Smith said. "C'mon deary".

Rainbow smiled. Tank barked happily beside her. Rainbow looked at Applejack who smiled back.

"Okay".

They all went inside. They got the turkey out and they all served themselves. They chatted amonst themselves and laughed.

"So Rainbow", Jackson said. "You enjoying the food??".

Rainbow nodded, a grin on her face. "You betcha. This is the biggest meal I've had since I was in a homeless shelter".

Applejack frowned. She looked at her best friend.

"Homeless shelter??".

Rainbow looked at Applejack. She nodded.

"Yeah. After my family died, me and Tank ended up on the street for a while".

"You've been through alot", Granny Smith said.

Rainbow shrugged, looking at her plate.

"I'm just grateful that I get to be here with you guys and grateful I still have Tank with me through it all".

Rainbow looked at Applejack and smiled.

"Thanks AJ. I'm really grateful for being with you today. Love you".

Applejack smiled. "Same. You're awesome. Ah'm grateful ta be yir friend. Love you too RD".

Rainbow blushed a light shade of pink. She looked at her plate. The girls chatted while they ate. Jackson and Granny Smith watched them silently. They grinned at eachother.

"Okay everyone. Take a seat".

Everyone sat down on the two sofas. Applejack and Rainbow Dash sat next to each other. Jackson put the movie on and turned the lights off. He sat down.

The movie played on. It was a funny movie. At some of the movie Rainbow had snuggled up to Applejack without realizing it. She felt an arm around her shoulders. Turning her head she saw Applejack. The teen blushed.

"Sorry", she whispered.

Applejack shook her head. "It's okay. Ah don't mind it".

The blonde smiled gently. Rainbow stared at her for a moment. Then she smiled and leaned her head on Applejack's chest. Applejack wrapped her arm around Rainbow's shoulders.
She leaned and whispered, "Ah could get use to this".

Rainbow looked at her.

"I think I could too. If you asked me out".

"Do you wanna go out??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow's eyes widened. "Wait. Are you serious??".

Applejack nodded. "Ah've liked you fir a long time now".

Rainbow smiled. "I've had a crush on you for almost a year. I didn't think you'd go for someone like me. Especially if you found out about my family".

Applejack frowned. "Yir family's death don't got any say in how ah feel about cha. Will you go out with me??".

Rainbow smiled and nodded. "Yeah".

Applejack smiled. She gave Rainbow a kiss on the cheek. Rainbow giggled. The girls looked back at the tv.

Rainbow laughed. She ran from Applejack. The older of the two picked up speed. She grabbed Rainbow around her waist, picking her up.

Rainbow gasped and laughed. Tank barked as he ran with the girls. Rainbow laughed. She was put down. Applejack smiled. Rainbow looked up at her. Taking her hat, Rainbow put it on.

"Who am i??".

Applejack chuckled. "Hmm let me guess. Twilight".

Rainbow shook her head.

"Applebloom".

Rainbow laughed and shook her head. Applejack pretended to think.

"Hmm. Ah don't know".

Rainbow laughed and lightly shoved her. Applejack smiled. She loved her laugh.

"Your laugh is cute", she said. "One of the many things ah love about you".

Rainbow looked at her.

"Why do you wanna date me??", she asked.

"Easy", Applejack said. "Because you're funny and beautiful an loyal. Ah couldn't help but have a crush on you. Though it took me a while ta figure out mah feelins fir ya. But ah did".

Rainbow smiled. "Good. It would suck if you didn't feel the same way".

Applejack nodded. "True. So".

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash.

"How you like mah family??".

Rainbow smiled. "They're amazing. The happiest and most loving family I've ever known".

Applejack stared at Rainbow Dash for a while. She saw a look in her eyes. Rainbow was looking at something. Turning her head, she saw her family. Applejack frownedand looked back at Rainbow.

She felt guilty. She was showing off her family when Rainbow didn't have one.

"You know your family is watching us, right??".

Applejack smiled. "Let em".

Rainbow looked at the Apple family.

"You okay??".

Rainbow looked at Applejack. Applejack gave her a concerned look. Rainbow nodded.

"Yeah. Just thinking".

"About??".

"What it would be like to have a family".

Applejack was silent. She didn't know Rainbow thought so much about that.

"Rainbow", she heard.

The girls turned around. Applejack's family stood there.

"We want you to know something", Jackson said. "If anything, come to us. Okay??. Anything at all".

Rainbow smiled.

"It must be hard growing up without a family with ya", Granny Smith said. "It ain't fair or right ta watch ya look so sad. Ah can see it in yir eyes. You can't hide the pain".

Rainbow looked away. She felt a hand in hers. She turned and saw Applejack. She smiled.

"It's true. It ain't fair. So you're in our family too".

Rainbow looked at Applejack in surprise. The blonde smiled.

"You're part of the apple family now. No more Thanksgiving alone with Tank. Now you an him have an actual family".

Rainbow smiled. She hugged Applejack.

"Thank you".

Applejack hugged back. "No problem sugarcube. Happy Thanksgivin".

Rainbow pulled away. She looked around. She had another thing to be thankful for. Her new girlfriend and family.
