Applejack looked at her teammates. They were on their way to a car crash. They were EMT's and they had just gotten a call about a car accident and were on their way.

They arrived at the scene. Applejack hopped out of the ambulance. She and her team hurried to the car. The front was totalled. Applejack walked over to a window and looked in. She saw movement in the vehicle.

Taking a step back she looked at the front door. A window on the passenger side was shattered. Applejack suddenly heard crying.

"Hey guys", Soarin called. Applejack walked over to him. She looked into the broken window.

There was an unconscious man in the driver seat. A woman, who was also unconscious, sat in the passenger seat. A girl was on her lap, clinging to the woman. Applejack was taken by surprise.

The girl looked like she was a little younger than her. She had rainbow colored hair and blue skin. She was clinging to the woman, crying. That was probably her mom.

"Moommy. P-Please don't leave me. You promised you wouldn't leave me alone with him. Please wake up".

Applejack felt her heart break. Soarin was reaching foward to take the girl. Applejack stopped him.

"No", she hissed. Soarin looked at her.
"She just lost her mother", Applejack said. "Don't take her away from her. Let er have uh moment. Get the man".

Soarin and another EMT hurried over to the other side. Applejack watched the girl sob and sob.

"He's alive", she heard Soarin call. The girl cried even harder.

"Mom. He's alive", the girl sobbed "Please don't leave me alone with him. H-he'll kill me too, please. I need you. Please mommy. He's gunna hurt me".

Applejack's eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. Hurt her??. Her eyes lifted up to watch as her teammates took the man out of the car and rushed him to an ambulance.

Applejack knew she had to get the girl although she hated having to separate her from her mother after losing her but she had to.

Opening the door Applejack looked at the girl. Magenta colored looked up at her. The girl sniffled.

"He killed her", she sobbed. "He killed my mom!!".

Applejack reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder. She gently brought the girl close to her and wrapped her arms around her. The teen cried into her shirt. Applejack rubbed her back comfortingly.

After a bit the girl looked up at her. Applejack felt her tongue go numb. The girl had beautiful magenta eyes. Big and bright.

Applejack's brain started working again. She remembered she had a job to do.

"Uh miss. Ah've gotta get chu to the ambulance".

The girl nodded. She turned back around and looked at her dead mother. The teen sniffled and hugged her one last time.

"Goodbye mommy. I love you".

The girl looked up at Applejack.

"Please don't let him hurt me. I can't go home go with my dad. I can't. He did this. He killed her".

Applejack scooped her up and walked to the ambulance. She looked at the girl in her arms who was looking back at the crash and her mother for a last look.

Applejack's mind was filled with questions.

What did this girl mean by that??. Did her father cause the accident??. Was the accident an accident??. Applejack sat beside the girl, who was laid on a bed. Soarin was on the other side. The girl was sniffling every now and then.
Applejack looked at the girl.

"What's your name??".

The girl looked up at her.

"Rainbow Dash".

Applejack smiled. "Well Rainbow Dash. Ah'm Applejack".

Rainbow reached out and weakly touched her leg.

"It wasn't an accident", she croaked out, shaking her head.

"He tried to kill us both".

Applejack looked up at Soarin who looked worried. Applejack looked back at Rainbow. The girl pulled her hand away.

"I can't go home with him. He'll hurt me for the rest of my life. He already killed my mom. He'll kill me too if I go home with him".

"Who??", Soarin asked.

Rainbow turned her head and looked at him.

"My dad. You found him alive next to my mom".

Soarin and Applejack looked at eachother. Applejack shook her head and looked at Rainbow.

"Don't worry", she said. "You're safe with us".

Rainbow looked up at the ceiling.

"I wish I wasn't alive. Why did I survive and my mom died??. She should be the one that survived. She's been through enough".

"What do you mean??".

Suddenly the doors swung open. Applejack saw her other teammates. Rainbow grabbed her hand.

"Don't leave me".

The poor girl had fear in her eyes. She had a something about her that Applejack didn't want to leave her and wanted to be there for her. Applejack laid a hand on top of hers.

"Ah won't".

Applejack glanced up at Soarin. He nodded. Applejack got off the ambulance. She stayed beside Rainbow wherever she went. Into the ER. Into each room. Treatment center, and then to the hospital room.

She sat in a chair next to Rainbow's bed while the girl slept. Applejack had to admit, she was beautiful. The most beautiful girl she had ever seen.

Suddenly the room door opened. Applejack turned her head. She saw Soarin walk in.

"Hey", she said.

Saorin walked up to her.

"Listen. In her mother's pocket, a note was found. I think you should read this".

He handed her a piece of paper. Applejack looked down at the words.

If you're reading this it means I'm either unconscious or dead. My husband, Lightning Dash, is responsible for this. He has been physically abusive for 11 years. Please, I beg to whoever finds this. Save my daughter. Her name is Rainbow Dash. She's my little girl. That monster of a husband has never laid a hand on her. But once I'm dead, he will. Please. Don't let her go home with her father. She won't live much longer. She's only 16. Please. Save my baby. And if you find a necklace around my neck. It's a red lightening bolt with a gold chain. Give it to her. As a reminder of me and tell her that I will always love her. Thank you.

Applejack looked up at Soarin in shock. Abuse.

"Oh mah gosh. Do the police know??".

Soarin nodded. "They're looking into it. For now, keep an eye on Rainbow. And here".

He held a necklace. It was the necklace Rainbow's mom mentioned in the note. Applejack held it in her hand. She looked at it. It was beautiful. She looked up at Soarin.

"Thanks. Ah will".

"You care about her alot, don't you??", Soarin asked.

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash. She smiled.

"Yeah. Ah can't explain it. Ah feel like Ah'm suppose to be with her at all times. She's beautiful".

Soarin smirked. "Aww cute".

Smacked his arm. "Shut up".

"I'll go talk to the police about Rainbow's dad and the note. I will not let this go until that man gives us answers".

Applejack nodded. "Ah'll be here".

Soarin turned and left, closing the sliding glass door.

Applejack suddenly heard a groan. Turning her head she saw Rainbow Dash was waking up. She sat up a little and relaxed. Rainbow's eyes opened and she looked around. She saw Applejack.

"Oh. This is real".

Applejack nodded. She leaned foward.
"Listen. We found uh a note in your mom's pocket. It said that your dad was abusive and not to let you go home with him. Is that true??. We're trying to find out answers".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. It's true. My dad hated my mom and me. He only wanted her because she's rich".

Applejack nodded for her to continue.

"I saw him hit her when I was little. But I kept quiet because I didn't know it was bad. But then when I got older, I just kept quiet because he said he'd kill me if I told".

Applejack reached out and took Rainbow's hand in hers.

"Ah believe ya. You're safe with me".

Rainbow smiled.

"C-Could you give me a hug??".

Applejack nodded. She got up and laid down on the bed. She wrapped her arms around Rainbow who laid her head on Applejack's chest. Applejack smoothed her hair soothingly.

"What's that??", Rainbow asked pointing at the necklace in Applejack's hand. Applejack held it out to her.

"In the note it said said she wanted ta have this".

Applejack gave the necklace to Rainbow, who smiled at it. Rainbow put it on and fiddled with the charm, laying her head on Applejack.

"This means alot".

Applejack smiled. She looked down at Rainbow Dash.

"Ya know Rainbow. You're speacial. Ah think there's a reason you survived".

Rainbow looked at her. "Why??".

Applejack smiled. "So we could meet. And so your dad could be discovered and might be thrown inta jail".

Rainbow stared at her.

"Yeah. I guess you're right".

Applejack smiled brightly.

"Well ah am pretty smart".

Rainbow laughed lightly. Applejack loved her laugh. It was like the most beautiful sound in the world.

"You're funny".

Applejack shrugged. "Ah'm funny and you're cute".

Rainbow's face softened into a small smile.

"You think I'm cute??".

Applejack nodded.

"Yeah. Beautiful actually. If Ah'm bein honest, which I am most of the time. Ah'd say you're the most beautiful girl Ah've ever seen".

Rainbow blushed a little.

"Thanks. No one's ever told me that before".

Applejack frowned. "We'll if ya let me take ya out ta lunch someday when all of this is over, Ah'll tell ya everyday".

Rainbow smiled. "We'll see miss rescuer".

Applejack laughed. "Rescuer??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. You rescue people. You rescued me so you're my rescuer".

Applejack chuckled. "Okay then. Then you're mah damsel in distress".

Rainbow smirked. "My knight in shining armor".

Applejack smirked back. "Mah princess locked in a tower".

"You fight the dragon and save the day", Rainbow said, laying her head on Applejack's shoulder. Applejack poked her nose gently.

"You stole mah heart and gave me strength ta battle the dragon in the first place".

Rainbow suddenly frowned. "I'm battling my the dragon too at the moment. I'm the dragon's daughter".

Applejack frowned and sat up. Rainbow sighed quietly, looking into the distance.

"Hey", she said, making Rainbow look at her.

"You won't go through this alone. Ah'll be here with ya through this. Me and mah teammates will not let chur father get away with what he's done. We'll find evidence of the abuse and get him arrested".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. I have a pretty bad life".

Tears rose to Rainbow's eyes. She looked away. Applejack wrapped her arms around her in a hug. Rainbow bit her lip, trying not to cry.

Applejack rubbed her arm.

"It's okay. I've gotcha. Shhh".

Soarin looked through the glass doors. He turned to his teammate and captain Spitfire.

"I told you they'd end up together".

Spitfire smirked at him.

"Love is weird. They just met this morning. Now I bet Applejack asked her out already. That girl fell hard for her".

Soarin nodded and smiled. "Yeah. But I think Rainbow's in good hands. Though the poor kid lost her mother, she gained a best friend and girlfriend. She might have even found an escape from her dad if we can prove that if Rainbow's telling the truth and he really abuse Eden".

Spitfire sighed. "Poor kid. Think she'll be okay??".

The two looked at the two teens. Applejack holding Rainbow as the girl slept in the EMT's arms. Soarin smiled.

"I think she'll be just fine".
