Unusual animal part 8

Here is the moment you've been waiting for. Enjoy :)

"Rainbow?."

Applejack slowly pushed the bedroom door open. She took a peek into the room. She looked around. She saw ball underneath the sheets. A rainbow colored wolf tail stuck out.

"Rainbow??. It's me." Applejack called. "Ah just wanna talk. You in here??."

She saw the ball shifted. Applejack walked into the room, closing the door behind her.

"Hey." She said, not really sure how to start the very awkward conversation.

I mean. How can this conversation not be awkward. A huge secret was accidentally just been released to the last person that was suppose to find out.

Applejack slowly walked over to the bed. She looked at where Rainbow was laying down on the bed. She sat down by Rainbow, looking at the hiding hybrid girl.

"Rainbow. Can we talk about this?." She asked. "Please?? Ah need ta know if what you said is true."

Rainbow didn't move.

"You're not mad??." Came a small voice from under the covers.

Applejack was shocked Rainbow would even think she'd be mad. Liking someone wasn't a crime or wrong.

"What?? No. No no no, Rainbow. Ah'm not mad. There's nothing ta be mad at and a crush is not somethin' ta get mad over."

"You don't hate me??."

Applejack shook her head even though she knew Rainbow couldn't see it.

"Ah can't hate chu." Applejack said honestly, smiling a little. "Ah could never hate chu."

"Oh." Was all Rainbow Dash said.

Applejack sighed. "Please sit up n' take that blanket off yir head. Ah wanna talk to you, face ta face."

Rainbow slowly sat up. She pulled the blanket off of her head, looking at Applejack. Her eyes went down to her lap, not having the courage to look at the young celebrity.

"Rainbow." Applejack said, smiling. "Ah like you, too. As in more than just a friend."

Rainbow's looked up at her, eyes wide.

"Wait. You do??."

Applejack nodded. "You betcha. Have ever since ah first met cha."

Rainbow's expression warped to confusion. "But...... why??."

Applejack shrugged. "Why not?? You're funny, beautiful, talented. You're not like everyone else."

Rainbow frowned. She looked away.

"You mean different." She said, bitterness in her voice.

Applejack frowned. "A good different. What's wrong?"

Rainbow looked up at her.

"Applejack. I'm not normal. I'm a freak!." She half shouted.

"Hey." Applejack scolded. "Don't say that. You said you were a freak, because ah don't think so."

Rainbow brought her knees to her chest, pulling the blanket up to cover her ears.

"It's kinda obvious. I mean I'm half animal. I'd say that's enough to be a freak."

Applejack thought about what to say next. She scooted closer to Rainbow Dash.

"Rainbow." She said softly. "Ah don't think of ya as a freak. Ah think of you as unique. Special. But, not a freak. Ah like that you're part wolf."

"But we can't be together." Rainbow stared sadly. "If people found out who and what I am, they'll look at you differently. I don't want that."

Applejack laughed suddenly. Rainbow raised an eyebrow.

"What??."

Applejack laughed for a few more seconds before she calmed down enough to talk.

"Ah told the girls that me n' you couldn't together b'cause ah don't yir life ta change so much. Ah was afraid of what mah fans would say or think about you if you went public about you bein' a hybrid."

Rainbow smiled at the coincidence.

"I actually don't mind as much about people knowing about me." She admitted. "I used to be terrified of the idea, but now....."

She shrugged. "I'm warming up to the idea. Being around people is a different story, but having them KNOW about me, is kinda okay. I'm not ashamed of being with you, anyway."

Applejack nodded. "You're right." She said. "Ah honestly don't care how people see me, just because of who ah date. If they say bad things about me, it'll be because they don't understand you or what you are."

She reached out and took Rainbow's hand, turning her body so she was kneeling on the bed, facing the hybrid teen.

"But that doesn't matter right now. Ah really like you, Rainbow. Ah can't stand not bein' able ta call ya mine. Nothin' else would matter to me if you were mah girlfriend. Ah wanna give us a try n' see where it goes. If it don't work out, then we can just be friends again. But, let's see. What do you say??."

Rainbow hesitated.

"I........Uh....I....."

Rainbow smiled, looking at their joined hands. She looked up at Applejack.

"Okay.

Applejack's smile brightened. She couldn't believe Rainbow Dash had said yes. She knew this was Rainbow's first relationship, so she planned on taking it easy with Rainbow not expecting her to know every single thing about the dating world. She didn't expect a lot from Rainbow other than I love yous, maybe kisses and occasional things Rainbow got for her. Rainbow somewhat already did, having once come home with a daisy in her mouth for Applejack for no reason at all.

Applejack would have to the girls not to put pressure on Rainbow since she knew Rainbow would go to the them if she had any questions about information on dating or something along those lines. Rarity was quite the romantic gal and she'd probably tell Rainbow Dash things to do and pile all the expectation on how to act and dress on dates and things to say. But it would most likely be the opposite of what either of them would want and more of what Rarity had in mind for a date.

So a private talk with them was needed.

Rainbow suddenly frowned and looked down at her stomach. Placing a hand on her stomach, she said, "I feel all tingly and ticklish and flip floppy inside."

Applejack laughed. "How do you feel?."

Rainbow looked up at her. "Very, very happy."

"Then that tingly feelin' is good."

Rainbow smiled up at her. "Okay."

Applejack remembered that the girls were in the living room still.

"C'mon. Let's go back n' tell the girls." Applejack said, standing up.

Rainbow nodded. She crawled over to the edge of the bed. She didn't notice that her left leg had the blanket wrapped around it. Rainbow went to stand up, but she staggered when she put one foot on the floor.

"Woah!!."

Rainbow fell over, flailing her arms. She close her eyes, prepared to hit the floor. Applejack thought on her feet and grabbed Rainbow Dash around her waist, stopping her fall.

Rainbow opened her eyes. She saw Applejack looking down at her, panic in her green eyes. Rainbow's heart raced in her chest.

"You okay, sugarcube??." Applejack asked

Rainbow realized their closeness. She blushed and nodded.

"I-I think so"

It was awkward for a few seconds, neither of them thinking to move from their position.

Rainbow moved to get out of Applejack's embrace. Her foot slipped and her sudden weight, brought her and Applejack down with a soft thud on the carpet floor.

Rainbow could've sworn her heart skipped a beat from the split second of panic and fear. She looked up at Applejack.

"Oh celestia, kill me now." She thought.

Applejack was laying on top of her.

"Ow." Applejack said.

She looked at Rainbow Dash and froze. The two were frozen in time, staring into each other's eyes. Rainbow looked at Applejack's lips. She felt an urge and went for it. She quickly yanked Applejack down by her shirt collar. Their lips pressed together.

Applejack's eyes widened. Holy crap. This was happening.

Rainbow, just as quickly, pushed her away, gasping.

"I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I swear, i wasn't thinking and I'm stupid a-."

Applejack cut her off with another kiss. Rainbow eyes widened. Applejack cupped her cheek gently, her eyes closed. Rainbow almost immediately realized that Applejack wanted to kiss her and so she happily kissed back without hesitation. It was soft and sweet. Better than anything she'd seen on tv.

Rainbow had always been afraid her first kiss would never happen. But here she was. Kissing her crush and now girlfriend.

Rainbow, as if her (surprisingly) omega instincts kicked in, wrapped her arms around Applejack's waist, deepening the already intense kiss, but letting Applejack take the lead. This was better than anything she'd ever imagined this moment would be like. The moment was perfect. They were alone. No species divider, no cameras, no celebrity life. No worries or fears or insecurities. Just themselves.

Applejack ended the kiss, pulling away for them to breath. They were both panting lightly. They looked at each other in somewhat shock.

They just kissed.

"That was my first kiss." Rainbow said, smiling. "It was amazing."

Applejack smiled, relieved that Rainbow's first kiss wasn't a disappointment to her. Rainbow was a bad kisser for a first timer. She been a bit stiff and unsure of herself, but that was normal, given the circumstances. It was still great.

"So." Applejack said, smiling. "Tell the girls??."

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. Let's go do that now."

The girls got up and walked out, hand in hand.

Comment below what you think :) Also, if you had any advice for either of them about anything, OR if you had something you would want to say to them after reading this chapter, what would you tell them?? I'd really like to see your answers in the comments :)
