Rainbow Dash peeked around the corner into the living room. She saw Applejack sitting on the couch, watching tv. Rainbow contemplated on whether or not she should go in and ask Applejack.

She played with her tail nervously. She didn't want to be a bother. But she really wanted to know about Applejack's job and why those people with cameras were following them the other day.

Rainbow hesitantly walked into the room, trying not to disturb her friend.

"A-Applejack??."

Applejack looked over her shoulder at her. She smiled. Rainbow felt her stomach churn with nerves at her smile. Her knees felt weak.

Was that suppose to happen??. Why did she suddenly feel nervous??

Rainbow Dash wrung her hands together, her eyes looking at the floor.

"Hey, RD. What's up??."

Rainbow slowly walked up to Applejack.

"I-I uh............ I wanted to um ask you a-a question."

Applejack shifted, moving over a little. She patted the sofa.

"Alright. Ask."

Rainbow sat down on the sofa, shifting around nervously.

"Um......"

Her eyes wandered to the carpet.

"What kind of things, um........ do you do??."

"What do you mean??." Applejack asked

"I mean why do those people with cameras follow you and your friends around??." Rainbow asked, gaining a bit of confidence. "Why are you and the other girls famous??."

Applejack smiled. "You don't know what ah do??."

Rainbow suddenly felt stupid. She looked down at her hands.

"No."

She looked up at Aplejack.

"Should I know??."

Applejack could tell Rainbow Dash was embarrassed that she didn't know who she was. Rainbow's emotions seemed to always be covering her face at all times. She could never hide her emotions.

Applejack smiled. "Ah'm a singer. Ah sing country music. Me and mah friends are also actors. We've been in tv shows n' movies. Rarity also has her own fashion line and Twilight did somethin' sciencey"

Rainbow's eyes widened, a huge smile spread across her face. She sang??

"And those men with the cameras follow you guys around a lot??"

Applejack nodded. "Yup. We never get a moment of privacy out in public because someone is always watchin' us. Always. It's just part of bein' a celebrity. You never get a private moment."

Rainbow's left ear raised.

"Is that why they were all in my face?? That was annoying."

Applejack made a hm.

"Yeah. And since they've never seen ya b'fore, they caught interest and they wanted ta take yir photo and it'll end up on the magazine or the gossip channel."

Rainbow shrugged. "Why??."

Applejack shrugged. "Because people like that are nosy n' don't mind their own business so they like ta tell the world your business."

"Why?? Isn't that stalking??." Rainbow asked, tilting her head to the side a little

Applejack laughed at the innocence of that question. Rainbow, if she was a child, was at the stage of asking why all the time.

"Ah guess so. But it's their job ta stalk famous people, so it's not illegal."

Rainbow pulled her knees to her chest, a worried look in her face.

"Why?? What if I have another panic attack in front of them and they take pictures of me??. Or what if they find out what I am and put it in a magazine and then everyone knows and they think I'm a freak?? What if they start stalking me if I go out alone??."

"Not gonna let that happen." Applejack swore.

She got serious.

"Rainbow. That ain't gonna happen. Alright?? Ah wouldn't let it. If they say anythin' bad about cha or anythin, ah'll step in n' say somethin. Just remember that you know who you really are n' that they just say what they think they know about cha, but really, they don't know you."

Rainbow nodded, understanding.

"Thanks, Applejack. Why are you so nice to me?" She asked

Applejack shrugged. "We're friends now and because ah care about cha."

Rainbow smiled. "Really?."

Applejack nodded and flashed her a small smile. "Yeah. Ah really do. Probably more than ah should."

What was wrong with her? Why was so honest and open with this girl?? Why did Rainbow Dash have this affect on her??
Applejack saw Rainbow's cheeks turn pink.

Rainbow Dash touched her face.

"Why does my face feel hot??." She asked.

Applejack could have laughed.

"It's called blushing."

"Blushing?? What's that?."

Applejack giggled. "Ask Rarity the next time you see her."

Rainbow nodded. She looked down at her hands, a hesitant look on her face.

"Um, I get panic attacks a lot." She told her. "Just so you know."

Applejack nodded, storing the information on her brain.

"Thank you fir lett'n me know. Anythin' else ah need ta know about cha??."

Rainbow shrugged. "What do ya wanna know??."

Applejack shrugged. "Well. Were you born a hybrid??."

Rainbow seemed surprised by the question. She nodded her head.

"I was born in a scientist' lab. There are more like me, but we all got sold to trainers across the world."

Applejack sat back, staring at Rainbow. She couldn't imagine that must've been like for her. Growing up being some test subject, not having any friends or family around. If she had any family to begin with.

Applejack felt bad for her. She couldn't believe someone like Rainbow Dash survived such a life and was still friendly and willing to trust and be curious and ask questions. She was sure something else.

Rainbow rocked back and forth.

"Applejack?? Can you sing something for me??." Rainbow asked out of the blue.

Applejack chuckled, glad that there was a change of subject. Then she blushed when she realized the request Rainbow was asking. Sing for her. Applejack had never been asked to sing for anyone personally other than her dad.

"Ah don't know, Rainbow. Ah don't really sing much."

Rainbow Dash cocked her head to the side.

"You just said a few minutes ago that you're a singer."

Applejack had trapped herself.

"Ah am, but-."

"Please??." Rainbow got on her knees. Her hands folded together.

Applejack looked away.

"Please please please?? Pretty please, Applejack??."

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash. She wished she hadn't. Rainbow was giving her the cutest and heart wrenching look ever, between pouting and looking ready to start tearing up. Applejack sighed. One song for Rainbow Dash couldn't hurt. It was Rainbow Dash after all. She couldn't bring herself to say no to her. She liked her to be happy.

"Fine. Just stop lookin' at me like that."

Rainbow beamed. She sat crossed cross, as Applejack went to retrieve her guitar from upstairs. She came back with her guitar and sat on the couch. She rested the guitar on her leg, thinking of a song.

"Hm. Lemme' think of a song ta play."

Rainbow watched her patiently yet excitedly. She sat close to her. Their knees were basically touching.

Applejack thought of a song.

"Ah got one." She snapped her finger. "This is one Ah'm workin on."

Rainbow eyes nearly bulged out of her head.

"You write songs, too??."

Applejack nodded. "Yeah. With mah dad since he owns the record company ah'm signed ta. Wanna hear a song ah recently wrote??. Ah finished it this mornin."

Rainbow nodded eagerly. Applejack smiled. She looked down at the guitar, placed her fingers on the chords, a guitar pick in her free hand.

"It's called Beautiful soul."

She cleared her throat and took a deep breath before she started to strum.

Rainbow curled up beside her as she listened to Applejack strumming.

Applejack looked up at Rainbow. She smiled as she sang.

Rainbow felt the tingly feeling in her stomach again as she looked into Applejack's eyes. They were suddenly so green and pretty. Rainbow liked her green eyes.

She felt as if those words were meant for her, even though she knew they weren't. Applejack didn't write it for her. She couldn't have. She wrote it before they met. Rainbow felt disappointed for some odd reason.

Why was she sad just because a silly love song wasn't for her?? Was she really that much of a romantic??

Rainbow snapped back into the real world, not noticing she had spaced out in her thought process. Applejack was still singing.

Applejack shook her head.

Rainbow was impressed. She wished she could play an instrument too or sing good. That looked cool and kinda fun. Rainbow couldn't help but stare into Applejack's eyes as she samg. They captivated her, holding her prisoner, and Rainbow didn't mind at all. And her voice was amazing. It was soft and sweet and melodious.

Applejack grinned down at the guitar then at Rainbow.

Am ah crazy for want'n you?? Maybe do you think you could want me too?? Ah don't wanna waste your time.

Rainbow could easily see herself with Applejack. Even though she knew it was impossible for Applejack to be with someone like her.

Wait.......... did she like Applejack more than a friend?? That was crazy. They'd only known each other for a few days and know next to nothing about each other. How could she have a crush on someone she hardly knows?? No way did she like her?? No way.

Applejack continued singing. Rainbow tried to keep her mind busy. She couldn't bring herself to fall for Applejack. She couldn't. Rainbow could think of all the bad things that might happen because of them dating.

But all those worries seemed to slip away as she stared into Applejack's eyes as she sang for her and her only.

Applejack strummed, humming. Rainbow swayed to the rhythm, grinning. But inside, it was killing her.

Applejack finished and exhaled. Rainbow clapped.

"That was so awesome." She beamed. "I loved it. You should play for me more often."

Applejack blushed. "Aw shucks, sugar cube. Ah'm glad you liked it."

Rainbow hummed in response. She and Applejack stared at each other. They suddenly took notice of just how close they were. Applejack's eyes went down to Rainbow's lips. They looked so inviting.

Suddenly something caught Rainbow's eye. She turned her head. She smiled. Rainbow saw a bone chew toy on the table.

"Is that a chew toy??." She asked, hoping it was.

Applejack snapped out of her daze. She saw what the hybrid girl saw. She nodded and chuckled.

"Yup. Ah bought it for you. Ya seem ta like chewin' on stuff."

Rainbow blushed. Applejack was referring to her pillow case that Rainbow had chewed on that morning when she got bored. But, she couldn't help it. It was chewable.

Applejack got up.

"Ah'm gonna put this back." She said, walking upstairs. "That chew toy is yours, so you can play with it."

As soon as Applejack was gone Rainbow went for the chew toy. She grabbed it off the table and sat back down on the couch, sitting cross cross. She gnawed on the bone. It had a pig in a blanket flavor.

Rainbow loved pig in a blanket. She had it once before as a birthday present from her trainer a year ago. It was delicious.

Rainbow Dash was too busy with her present that she didn't notice Applejack watching her her from the entrance way of the room, grinning, recording her. Fluttershy was gonna freak out at how cute Rainbow was.

Rainbow was so cute all the time without trying. How does she do it?? Applejack hoped she liked the song. Applejack had come to accept something. She may or may not have a tiny crush on Rainbow Dash.

She couldn't help it. It started right from when they first met. Applejack couldn't deny it and she couldn't ignore the way her heart beat faster when she and Rainbow touched. She couldn't ignore the way her stomach churned when Rainbow smiled or laughed. It brightened up her day to wake up with Rainbow Dash beside her.

But she couldn't tell her. Rainbow Dash was so new to all this. Soon she'd be on magazines and talked about on tv. She'd be famous just because she's with Applejack and the girls all the time. She didn't want Rainbow's life to change too dramatically and fast because of a relationship. All the gossip, rumors, and unavoidable possible hate from some jealous fan of Applejack if Rainbow's true form was ever revealed to the public, would be too much for Rainbow to handle. She got panic attacks because of paparazzi. Imagine being in front of or surrounded by thousands of fans.

Rainbow would probably get worse. And maybe Rainbow didn't even like her back. They just met less than a week ago, anyway. Applejack just couldn't tell her. But she could tell her other friends.
