Unusual animal part 2

Enjoy :)

Applejack led Rainbow into the house. She closed the door behind her, locking it.

She turned and looked at Rainbow. The hybrid was looking around, her mouth slightly ajar, her eyes roaming around.

"Wow." Rainbow said. "This place is big."

Applejack smiled. "Yeah. It kinda is, and expensive too."

Rainbow looked at her. She clutched the red backpack she had brought, holding her few possessions including her toothbrush, hairbrush, DSI and the charger, and other things.

"So where do I sleep??."

Applejack frowned. She hadn't thought of that. In fact, she hadn't thought any of this through.

She racked her brain for answers to her unspoken questions. Rainbow could sleep in her room with her.

No, you idiot. You barely know anything about her. That'll probably make her uncomfortable or scared.

Okay. Scratch that idea. For now.

She did have a guest room beside her bedroom. Her large house had enough room for the both of them. That was better idea.

Of course she'd have to do some research on human-animal hybrids to see if there's anything she could do to make it easier for Rainbow to live here comfortably. And she'd have to talk to Rainbow's doctor/vet to get her medical records.

Applejack realized that a lot of work was going to be needed if she wanted to keep Rainbow Dash around. She looked at Rainbow. Her left ear twitched slightly, her big eyes staring Applejack.

Applejack smiled. All that work was worth it if Rainbow was happy and safe.

"Follow me."
----------------------

Rainbow looked at the food on the plate. She then looked up at Applejack who was sitting in the chair to her right.

"Is this for me??." She asked.

Applejack nodded, already eating her own food.

"Yup. Eat."

Rainbow looked down at her plate. She eyed the juicy ribs and the corn and the steamy mashed potatoes. She picked up one of the somewhat slippery ribs with her hands. She took a bite, the barbecue sauce getting on her face and fingers.

She chewed it for a second. Her eyes widened as she chewed faster.

"Mmm."

She took another chunk off the rib. Then another. Applejack looked at her and grinned. Rainbow was tearing up the ribs. Her hands and face were getting covered in reddish brown sauce.

"Be careful, Rainbow." She warned. "Don't eat too fast or too much at a time. The food ain't goin' anywhere."

Applejack held in a giggle. She ate as she continued to watch Rainbow gobble up her food. Rainbow was done before Applejack, nearly licking the plate clean. She sat there, watching Applejack finish up her own food.

Applejack sat back with a content sigh. She looked at Rainbow.

"Did you like the food??."

Rainbow nodded enthusiastically.

"Yeah. It was great."

"Well ah'm glad." She said, standing. She took both their plates and went over to the sink. She turned on the faucet and rinsed the plates, grabbing a sponge.

Suddenly felt a presence next to her. She turned her head to the right. She wasn't surprised to see Rainbow standing beside her, watching her hands from a distance.

Applejack chuckled.

"You wanna help me wash the dishes??."

Rainbow looked at her face.

"Um. If you allow me to, sure."

Applejack moved over.

"Cmon."

Rainbow cautiously moved over close to Applejack. She looked at the dishes in the sink. She picked up a plate. She rinsed it.

Applejack then saw the cutest thing ever.
Rainbow stood up on her tippy toes to reach over grab the dish soap. AJ screams internally, trying to focus on the task literally at hand.

Rainbow Dash poured a little dish soap on the plate, making zig zag patterns.

She looked at Applejack, grinning.

"Now what??."

Applejack looked at her then her hands.

"Oh. Um......"

She bit her lip, thinking.

"Now you scrub it. Here, uh, let me show ya."

Applejack moved behind Rainbow. She carefully slid her arms around Rainbow Dash, her chest touching Rainbow's back. Applejack looked over Rainbow's shoulder. Her hands touched took the plate in Rainbow's smaller hands. She felt strange feeling in her arms when they made contact. Her other hand took Rainbow's other hand as well.

"Now, uh......"

Applejack was trying to contain her beating heart. Why did she think this was a good idea?? Why couldn't she talk right?? She licked her dry lips. She tried her best not to look Rainbow in the eyes. She tried to ignore the smell of grass and flowers on Rainbow Dash.

"You do wash it like this."

With her hand on top of Rainbow's, the sponge in Rainbow's hand, Applejack scrubbed in a circular motion. She guided Rainbow's hand, washing the plate.

Rainbow nodded slowly.

"Ohhhh. Cool."

Applejack looked at Rainbow who was watching their touching hands. Rainbow looked genuinely in awe of the simple cleaning task. It was so pure and innocent.

The two washed the dishes, Applejack not moving from her spot. She showed Rainbow how to clean each different type of item, from puts, to frying pans to forks and knives. She made sure to be carefully with the knives while Rainbow was holding it.

Once they put everything in the dish washer and started it, Applejack suggested they get to bed since Rainbow looked tired.

The two headed up to Applejack's room.

Rainbow stopped at the door. Applejack walked over to the her drawers and knelt down. Opening one, she rummaged through and got out some clothes for Rainbow to sleep in. Rainbow was pretty small, so most of Applejack's clothes were probably a little big on her. Applejack settled on a some sweat pants and one of her t-shirts.

She stood up and walked over to Rainbow. The hybrid girl was looked around the room in awe. Applejack chuckled.

"Ah know. This room is big, huh?"

Rainbow nodded. She looked around the large room. The soft carpet floor, the lamps on the ceiling. She saw a king sized bed with green and red covers and pillows. A fancy chair was beside a desk and a large bookshelf. A guitar was on it's stand in the corner. It all looked expensive.

"Yeah." She mumbled.

She looked at Applejack. She noticed the clothes Applejack was holding.

"Thank you." She said, taking the clothes. "You really didn't have to do that. I would've been fine sleeping in these clothes."

"It's no biggie." AJ replied with a shrug.
"Ah want cha comfortable here. It's your home now, too after all."

Rainbow smiled at her. Applejack was so kind to her.

She liked that. She was also very very pretty. They stared at each other for a long period of time. Longer than necessary.

Rainbow tilted her head to the left slightly. Did Applejack always have a sparkle in her eyes??

Did Rainbow always look so beautiful?? Applejack answered her own question.

Yes.

Rainbow suddenly blushed and looked away. Applejack cleared her throat.

"Well, um. Let me show ya yir bathroom and ah'll help ya get set up with yir bath n' all that."

Applejack led her down the hall, Rainbow following closely behind, both girls' hearts beating in their chest. Since when was that happening??
-------------------

Rainbow shot up with a scream. She covered her mouth, looking around in the darkness, expecting to see the man from her dreams. It was almost dead silent, except for a hard downpour of rain outside, pounding against her window.

Crack!

Rainbow jumped. She looked out her window. The sky was dark and cloudy. Light flashed in the sky. Usually rainy nights out her to sleep but not when it stormed.

Another thunderous sound echoed, making her jumped, holding her blanket closer to her, her ears flattening. Her heart pounded loudly in her chest. The loud sound suddenly brought back a horrrible memory.

She was being punished again.

But what had she done wrong??. She did her best to behave. She was polite and didn't ask too many questions or talked a lot.

But she must've been bad. Why else would Applejack leave her alone during the storm??

Rainbow's eyes watered up. She jumped at another crack of thunder. It was particularly loud. Rainbow laid down. She pulled the blanket over her head, curling up in a ball. She grabbed the teddy bear she had brung with her. The only thing that actually made her feel less alone. Her only friend.

She looked at it in the dark, trying to hold in her sobs.

"You're scared too??." She whispered..

She made the teddy bear nod. Rainbow hugged it.

"We'll keep each other company. It's okay." She said.

She sniffled. A flash of lightning lit up her room. Rainbow saw it and curled up even more. A crack of thunder made her jump, her body shaking.

Suddenly she heard her door open. She sat up immediately, pulling the blanket off her. Rainbow scooted over to the farthest corner of the bed, her back against the wall, hugging her teddy bear tightly to her body.

"Rainbow??." She heard the thick country accent of the girl she was living with.

The lights flickered on. Applejack was standing in the doorway in her pajamas, her hand on the light switch. Applejack saw Rainbow.

"Rainbow?? Are you okay??."

Applejack walked up to the bed. Rainbow whimpered. Applejack walked up to the bed, concerned for Rainbow.

"What's wrong??" She sat down on the edge of the bed.

Rainbow sniffled. "I'm sorry."

Applejack's eyebrows furrowed.

"Sorry?? For what??."

Rainbow sniffled.

"For b-b-being b-bad. I'm sorry."

Tears ran down Rainbow's face. A boom of thunder made her flinch and nearly burst into tears.

"I'll be good." She sobbed. "I promise I'll be good. Just p-please don't punish me. I-I really tried to be good. I did. Just don't leave me here by myself. Please."

Applejack felt her heart snap in two at the realization of what Rainbow was talking about. She scooted closer to her.

"Oh, Rainbow." She said. "You think ah'm punishin' you??."

Rainbow nodded. "I always get left alone during thunderstorms as punishment sometimes."

"Oh Rainbow. No. Ah'm not punishin' ya. C'mere."

Applejack opened her arms, reaching out to Rainbow. Rainbow didn't know why but she knew she'd be safe in Applejack's arms. She scrabbled over to Applejack, letting her wrap her arms around her. Rainbow was pulled on to Applejack's lap. She buried her face in Applejack's pajama shirt. The softness felt comforting.

Applejack rubbed her back.

"Rainbow. Ah'd never hurt chu or do anythin' ta scare you like this. Ah'd never punish you. You didn't do anythin' wrong anyway. Nothing."

Rainbow sniffled. "You're not mad at me??."

Applejack shook her head. "No way. Ah could never be mad at chu. C'mon. You want some ice cream??. We can go downstairs and you can have some n' then we can stay in mah room tonight. You won't be alone. Alright?."

Rainbow nodded. She wiped her tears away. Applejack was so nice to her. It made her feel loved.

Applejack and Rainbow went downstairs. They ate some ice cream and watched tv for a half hour or so. Applejack noticed that Rainbow was starting to doze off, her ice cream all over her face. It made Applejack smile and her heart swell in adoration. Rainbow looked so peaceful and beautiful in the glow of the tv. She took their bowls and put them in the kitchen sink, rinsing them.

She came back to the living room. She turned off the tv. She walked over to where Rainbow was. She scooped her up, making sure Rainbow had her teddy bear. Rainbow shifted, waking up a little.

"Hm??."

"Shhhh. It's okay." Applejack whispered. "It's only me. You can go ta sleep, Rainbow."

Rainbow relaxed in her arms, a smile on her face. She loosely gripped her teddy bear. Applejack carried her upstairs to her room. Applejack walked in. She walked over to her bed. She laid Rainbow Dash down. The girl turned around and curled up. Applejack turned off the lights and got into bed. She pulled the blanket up and looked over at Rainbow in the dark.

She tucked her in, making sure she wouldn't fall off, positioning her teddy under her arm. Applejack laid down, getting comfortable.

"Applejack??." She suddenly heard Rainbow say.

"Yes, Rainbow??."

"Why are you so nice??."

The question caught her off guard. She pushed herself up, prompting her elbow underneath her.

"What so you mean?? Am ah nice??."

Her green eyes ah'd adjusted to the darkness. She could see Rainbow laying beside her, looking at her.

"Yeah." She nodded her head. "You protect me and you don't yell or make me do things, and you care and you're gentle. I like that about you. You're not a jerk like everyone else."

Applejack felt bad. She remembered how Paw had treated her during the show earlier that day. Not nice at all.

"Well," she said. "It's what nice people do. People shouldn't be rude or mean to others."

Rainbow was quiet for a moment.

"Am I bad??."

Applejack frowned. "What?? No."

Rainbow sat up, hugging her teddy bear.
Applejack reached out and touched her hand.

"Rainbow. You didn't deserve what those people did to you. Paw was cruel and a jerk. They did those things because you're not fully human so they treated ya like an animal. But that was wrong. So wrong, in so many ways. You did nothing wrong. Believe me. You didn't deserve it. Ah'd never do those things to anyone. Especially you."

Rainbow smiled. "I know you wouldn't. You care about me, right??."

Applejack knew for a fact she did. Probably more than she should.

"You betcha ah do, Rainbow." She said with all honesty.

A sudden boom of thunder frightened Rainbow. Lightning shone from behind the curtain. They could hear the rain falling harder outside.

Applejack looked at Rainbow.

"Cmon." She said. "Lay down. It's okay."

Rainbow hesitated. She looked at the window, watching as lightning lit up edges around the curtain. She looked at Applejack who was completely calm and content.

Rainbow laid down. She looked at Applejack as she did the same. Rainbow scooted closer to her. Applejack laid on her back.

"C'mere." She said gently.

Rainbow didn't hesitate. She wrapped an arm over Applejack's stomach, resting her head on top of her chest. Rainbow felt an arm around her waist. She felt safe for once. Suddenly she felt like nothing could harm her or scare her.

Rainbow smiled. She liked being close to Applejack. Rainbow snuggled close to Applejack, her teddy under her arm, closing her eyes.

Applejack stared up at the ceiling. She couldn't believe Rainbow was practically on top of her. This had to be a dream.

She suddenly heard a light snore. She looked down at Rainbow to see Rainbow's chest rising and failing slowly. A cute little snore came from her mouth. Even her small insignificant flaws were adorable.

Applejack felt relaxed now that Rainbow was asleep.

She was worried Rainbow wouldn't go back to sleep. Applejack thought as she laid there.

Rainbow was a lot of work. To have her around would need tons of energy. Physically, emotionally, and mentally. Applejack was already a busy girl. She was a celebrity after all.

She had a bit of doubt in her capability of being able to take care of Rainbow the way she deserves. She would be at work a lot while Rainbow would be home alone or probably being watched by a friend. She couldn't put Rainbow through more abandonment. She'd feel awful if something happened to Rainbow Dash while she was gone.

And the media. Oh god the media would chew Rainbow up and spit her out. Rainbow would never have a normal life. She couldn't be care free in public. She'd have to be on the lookout for paparazzi and fans of Applejack to keep herself from having an unfortunate run in with them. Once the media found out about Rainbow, rumors would spread like wildfire about her and who she is. They'd say things about Rainbow, true or not, and invade her personal life.

Applejack had no intentions of telling anyone anything about Rainbow or talk about her to the media. Applejack wasn't sure she wanted to put Rainbow through all that crap.

Applejack sighed. She looked at Rainbow Dash.

The hybrid was sound asleep peacefully.

Applejack lightly kissed the top of her head. So many thoughts and emotions ran through her.

But she could deal with them tomorrow. She'd talk with Rainbow and see what Rainbow thought about all that. For now, Applejack would let herself enjoy being close to her new friend.

She closed her heavy eyes, realizing how exhausted she really was. She closed her eyes and was out in a minute.

Part 3 anyone?? I realize this is like the other Rainbow hybrid story I did, but promise it'll be totally different :) comment what you think
