"This is going to be so much fun".

Twilight giggled. "Pinkie calm down. We don't want to freak Rainbow out, remember??. We'll get there soon".

The girls were on their way to the cove for the music festival. Rainbow of course told them to meet her in a secluded and hidden section of the cove where the other mermaids couldn't see them. Just for safe measures, Twilight thought of the idea of using an invisibility spell. Of course she'd make sure only Rainbow would be able to see them.

As they got closer to the cove, they heard music playing. It was beautiful.

"Do y'all hear that??", Applejack asked.

"Yeah", Fluttershy replied.

The five headed towards the music, careful not to be seen by anyone. They stopped at the entrance.

"Stay low", Twilight said.

The teens crouched behind some bushes. They peeked out to look.

"Wow", they all said in unison.

It was something out of a movie. Mermaids and mermen were everywhere. Some were swimming around, some were sitting on rocks talking. Some were playing instruments and others sang. Their voices were beautiful.

The teens looked at each other.

"I can't believe it", Twilight whispered. "Mermaids".

"Hey", AJ said, pointing at something. "Look at those mermaids over there. The ones with those crowns on their heads. They look like royalty".

Sitting on some rocks were three mermaids. They were all very beautiful. One had light blue skin and white hair and a dark blue tail. She had a very a look on her face that said "Yes, I know I'm important". The second one had long curly orange hair. She had a light orangy complexion and an orange tail. She looked like the eldest one. She sat with her hands on her lap, sitting up with pride and dignity. The third mermaid had long blue hair with a dark blue streak in a ponytail. She had light blue skin. She sat back relaxed, a grin on her face. She seemed very easygoing and fun loving. They all were wearing hair accessories and jewelry.

They were sitting with an adult mermaid.

"That's Triton", Twilight gasped.

They all look on with shocked looks on their faces.

The man looked to be about in his late thirties. He was muscular and had a strong build. His dark blue tail matched Rainbow's color.

He seemed kind and caring but from what Rainbow Dash had told them, the human girls knew better.

"Cmon", Applejack said. "We can't keep Rainbow wait' for long".

The girls snuck away to the secluded part of the cove. They made sure they weren't spotted.

The girls arrived at their meeting spot and sure enough, Rainbow Dash was there. She looked up at them when they approached the waters edge. The area was big enough for the girls to swim around if they pleased but small enough so that no one would know it's there. The small section had an entrance way. The water probably led out to the large part of the cove.

Rainbow smiled. "You made it".

"Wouldn't miss it filr the world", Applejack said.

The girls out their towels and stuff down on some rocks. They got into the warm water.

"Hey Rainbow", Twilight greeted, smiling.

The girls made their way over to Rainbow Dash who was sitting down on a submerged slab of rock. Applejack swam over to her, smiling.

She sat down beside Rainbow. The water went up to the girls' chests.

"We saw the festival", Twilight said.

"The music is beautiful. We saw your sisters and your dad too".

Rainbow just smiled.

"You okay??", Applejack asked.

"Yeah".

Rainbow brought a hand up to scratch the back of her neck. The girls' eyes widened. Rainbow had her wrists chained.

"Rainbow", Twilight said, swimming towards her.

Rainbow looked at her. She noticed the looks on their faces and look at them confused.

"What??".

Then she noticed the chains.

"Oh. This??".

Twilight sat in the other side of her. She picked up on of Rainbow's wrists. She looked at the iron chain.

"Why are you chained up??".

Rainbow sighed. "My family doesn't want me to be at the festival but they don't trust me at home either so I'm stuck here until the festival is over".

"That's so degrading", Rarity said, appalled. "That is no way to treat your sister".

Rainbow shrugged. "It's not so bad", she said, "At least you guys are here".

Rainbow looked at Applejack and smiled.

"You're here so that's all I need".

Applejack smiled. She wasn't happy at all about Rainbow being chained up like a prisoner but at least she wasn't hurt. She wrapped an arm round Rainbow's waist.

"Yup", she said. "And we'll have some fun on our own. We don't need ta be with those uptight prissy princesses".

"Agreed", the other girls said at the same time.

Suddenly they heard screams of terror. They were coming from the other side of the cove.

"What's going on??", Fluttershy asked.

Rainbow gasped, panic in her eyes. "Nonono. Not again!!".

The girls looked at the mermaid.

"What is it??", Twilight asked.

"Can you use your magic to unchain me??", Rainbow asked.

Twilight nodded. She chanted something and the chains come off of Rainbow.

"Pirates are here", Rainbow explained. "I have to go help get everyone out of there".

She lowered herself into the water. She swam towards the entrance way of the area.

She looked back at the girls.

"Stay out of sight", she said before diving into the water, hurrying out of the small area.

"C'mon y'all", Applejack said, lowering herself into the deeper part of the water. "Let's follow n' see what's up".

The girls followed her. They all swam out the way Rainbow had gone. They swam down the short path. They suddenly stopped when they reached the larger part of the cove where the festival had been. It was chaos. Mermaids and mermen were diving into the water, screams were heard.

"Guys. Look!!", Pinkie exclaimed, pointing.

The girls gasped. A pirate ship was heading towards cove. The cover was a wide open space so the ship could sail right through.

Applejack suddenly gasped.

"There's Rainbow".

The five turned their heads. They saw Rainbow Dash helping out one of her sisters, Sonata. The mermaid had gotten her tail fin trapped between two rocks in all the chaos.

Rainbow pushed the rocks apart. Sonata immediately dove into the water.

Applejack looked back up at the approaching ship. Rainbow swam over to help some children get away. Scootaloo was among them. She urged the fear-stricken kids to hurry and get out there. The group of kids dove into the water and out of harm's way. Scootaloo hesitated. She looked at Rainbow and said something.

The others could read Rainbow's lips. She told Scootaloo to go once again. The two hugged, holding on to each other tightly. Scootaloo finally dove into the water. Rainbow was looking around, not paying attention. She didn't see the ship right behind her. It was too late.

The girls gasped in horror. The ship banged into Rainbow. The mermaid fell under.

"RAINBOW!!".
