Such a child
Enjoy :)
"Wake up."
Rainbow whined. She swatted the hands off of her. She pulled the blanket up and over her head.
Applejack sighed. "C'mon, RD. Ya gotta wake up and start gettin ready ta go."
She heard a whimper from under the covers. She couldn't be serious right now. Applejack had been trying to get Rainbow out of bed for the last ten minutes to no avail. Rainbow had a doctors appointment in two hours and she hated doctors. Especially on Saturdays. Which it was.
"Cmon, babe." Applejack pleaded. "Please wake up. We have ta go in two hours."
The blanket was pushed off of Rainbow. Rainbow slowly sat up, sleep in her eyes, her hair sticking out wildly. Applejack had to purse her lips together to hold in a snicker.
"Where're we going??." Rainbow asked.
"The doctors." Applejack said simply.
Rainbow's eyes widened.
"No!."
She tried to lay back down and cover herself up, but Applejack was quick to react. She grabbed Rainbow's wrists. Rainbow looked at her.
"I'm not going." She said.
"Yes ya are."
"Nooooo." Rainbow whined. "Please don't make me go. I hate it there."
AJ sighed. "Well you have ta go fir-."
"NOOOOO!!."
Applejack gave her girlfriend a look. She then ripped the blanket off of her in a swift movement. She reached over and wrapped her arms around Rainbow Dash's waist, pulling her out of bed.
"NOOO!! Applejack, let me go. Let go!."
Rainbow kicked and fought, screaming her lungs out. AJ finally put her down. Rainbow put at least a foot distance between them. She crossed her arms.
"I don't wanna go." She said, pouting much like a child.
AJ sighed. She knew Rainbow had some issues that her brain would revert her mentality to a child for Celestia knows how long. Rainbow couldn't control it and it definitely made Applejack's life more interesting and a bit more stressful. But she loved Rainbow too much. She chose to stay with her and deal with her little tantrums. Like in just a few seconds.
"We're going." She said matter of factly.
Rainbow stomped her foot, glaring at Applejack.
Applejack placed a hand on her hip.
"Rainbow Dash. Don't chu start with me." She warned. "Ah will take ya a bath mahself if ah gotta ta get chu in that tub. You're gonna go in there."
She pointed at the door.
"Brush yir teeth and take a shower. Ah am not playin."
AJ knew she was probably overreacting. But sometimes she had to be somewhat harsh with Rainbow. Even if it didn't work.
"Applejack." Rainbow whined. "Don't make me go. Please."
Rainbow walked up to her. She pouted at Applejack.
"I hate going there. You know that."
Applejack had to fight it. Those eyes and that pout usually made her give in. But not today.
"Please try ta be a big girl." She said. "Fir me??."
Rainbow groaned. She crossed her arms. Applejack got her there. Rainbow couldn't ever deny Applejack when she asked Rainbow to do something for her sake.
"Fine." Rainbow grumbled.
Applejack kissed her forehead. "Thank you. C'mon. Ah'll help ya cuz Celestia knows you can't do a good job at washin' yirself."
Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I do."
Applejack gave her a look. "Someday ya don't even use soap. Just water."
Rainbow shrugged. "I like the feeling of water and then I forget to even put the soap on me."
Applejack smiled and tapped her nose.
"That's why ah gotta supervise. Otherwise, you'd also take firever."
She took Rainbow's hand and dragged her into the bathroom, Rainbow whining.
---------------------------
Rainbow made a strange sound as Applejack pulled her seatbelt on. Applejack rolled her eyes. She looked up at Rainbow.
"You'll be ok, baby."
Rainbow grabbed her hand. She looked into Applejack's eyes pleadingly, silently begging her not to take her to the doctors. Applejack smiled.
"You'll be fine."
Applejack backed away and closed the door. She walked over to the drivers side and climbed in. Shutting the door, Applejack glanced at Rainbow. The girl was pouting, a mad expression on her face. Applejack sighed, pulling her seatbelt on. She turned on the car and started down the street.
----------------------------
Rainbow stared at the fish in the tank. She couldn't care less about the people looking at her and giving her a weird look. Screw off.
"Do you think the fish are annoyed that weird creatures stare at them all day and then when the creatures leave, it gets very dark??. Even if they can't remember for more than a few seconds."
She turned and looked at Applejack. The blonde teen chuckled.
"Ah think they're fine."
"Rainbow Dash??."
The two looked up. They saw a nurse with a clipboard in her hand, looking around.
"That's us." Applejack called, getting the nurse's attention.
Applejack and Rainbow got their stuff together and walked over to the nurse.
She smiled.
"Follow me."
The two teens followed the young woman down the hall. They stopped at the end where a little area with a scale and height thing was.
"Sit, please." The nurse said, pointing to a chair right next to the scale.
Rainbow walked over to it and sat down. The woman checked her blood pressure. Then her height and weight.
5 foot and 109 pounds.
Applejack teased her about her height on the way to their room the nurse told them to go.
The two went into the hall where the rooms were at. They passed by a desk with nurses and secretaries.
Applejack had to hold Rainbow back from touching stuff.
"That don't belong to ya, babe. C'mon."
Rainbow whined as Applejack dragged her into their room. Rainbow looked around. She saw books.
"Ooooh books."
Rainbow went over to the books. She looked at the different types. She found one she liked and picked it. Then she went to the examination bed thing and climbed on. Rainbow looked at Applejack who sitting right beside the exam bed in a chair, her phone in hand.
"Look, AJ. Books."
AJ looked up at her. She smiled.
"That's great. Read it quietly."
The two sat there for a good twenty minutes. A knock on the door got their attention. The girls looked up, Rainbow had a look of fear on her face.
Rainbow normal doctor walked in. She smiled.
"Hey, Rainbow." She said with a little wave, knowing about Rainbow's childish behavior.
Rainbow fiddled with her hands, smiling a little in response.
"Hi."
"How are you??."
Rainbow shrugged. The nurse giggled.
"I know you don't like it here. So, we'll try to make this go by as fast as possible. Okay??."
Rainbow nodded.
"Well, let me give you a quick exam. Like check your ears and stuff."
Applejack stood up. She went over to the exam bed and leaned on it. Rainbow played with her long hair. Applejack made sure to stay out of the way enough for the doctor. The woman did the regular physical exam. Checking her ears, eyes, nose, mouth, respiration rate, temperature, reflexes.
"Everything seems great." She said, walking over the computer on the other side of the small room. "You're pretty healthy. Good. Now, um....... have you been taking your medication??."
Rainbow nodded. "Yeah."
The doctor logged into the computer and began to type things.
"You're a junior in high school right??."
Rainbow nodded.
"And this is your girlfriend??." The doctor said, motioning to Applejack.
Rainbow smiled and nodded. She took Applejack by the arm. Applejack placed a hand on Rainbow's hand, smiling at her.
The doctor giggled. "Cute."
Rainbow and Applejack blushed lightly.
The doctor looked back at the computer screen.
"So let's go over your medical records real quick. So your birthday is December 1st, 2000. And you're 17."
Rainbow nodded. "Yeah."
"And you're allergic to latex and tree nuts, right??."
She glanced at Rainbow. Rainbow nodded.
The woman nodded. "Do you keep your epipen with you??."
"Should she??." Applejack questioned.
"Um...."
The woman stopped typing and looked at her, thinking.
"Well I would recommend it, but she doesn't have to. That's up to you guys to discuss."
Applejack nodded.
"Looks like the only thing you need......" The doctor said looking at the screen, scrolling through.
"is your flu vaccine."
Rainbow tensed up at the mention of a flu shot. She looked at Applejack. Applejack held in her laughter. Rainbow looked like she'd been told she has a terminal illness or something. Terrified.
The doctor saw and smile.
"It's not that bad, sweetie. It's so small and it'll be done before you know it."
Rainbow whimpered, looking at Applejack. The situation was actually very amusing to Applejack, but she knew how this would end.
The doctor stood up.
"I'll be right back with the vaccine."
She winked. "Don't go anywhere."
She chuckled as she walked out. She closed the door behind her.
Rainbow looked at Applejack in fear.
"A needle?!!."
"Oh c'mon, RD." Applejack sighed. "It won't be that bad. Just like she said, the needle is so small. It won't hurt much."
"No!." Rainbow protested. "I don't want it."
Applejack grabbed Rainbow's arm. She pulled her close.
"You don't wanna get the flu, do ya?"
Rainbow shrugged. "It's gonna hurt a lot. It doesn't hurt you, but it hurts me a lot."
"Ah know it does, baby." Applejack agreed, rubbing Rainbow's arm gently. "But it's ta help ya be healthy so you don't get sick with the flu."
Rainbow crossed her arms and shook her head.
"No."
Rainbow was being difficult, whether or not she meant to be. Applejack had to be smart about this.
She smiled. "Ah have an idea."
"What??." Rainbow asked, her curiosity getting the best of her.
"If you can be a big girl and get the needle, ah'll take out ta eat and Burger King after this is over. And ah'll get cha candy too."
Rainbow thought it over. Applejack gave her the most convincing smile she could give.
Rainbow finally nodded. Applejack smiled. She kissed Rainbow gently on the forehead.
"That's mah brave girl." She praised.
She pulled away and looked at Rainbow in the eyes.
"Wanna sit on mah lap when ya get the shot??."
Rainbow nodded shyly, not saying anything. Applejack knew she was scared. That was normal.
"Ah know it's scary."
Rainbow pouted. "I'm not scared." She denied. "I just don't like needles. They hurt."
Applejack decided not to call her out on the lie. She was scared.
Suddenly the door opened. Applejack could see Rainbow tense up. Both girls looked over at the door. The doctor walked in, carrying a small plastic tray thing.
"Here we go." She said. "Ready??."
Rainbow looked at Applejack once more, silently begging her to save her. Applejack just looked at the doctor and nodded.
"Yeah. I just talked ta her, so she'll stick around fir the shot."
The doctor gave Rainbow a sympathetic smile. She put the tray down. Rainbow could see a bandaid, the needle, small wipes packets, and a lollipop.
"I don't like needles, either. Don't worry. It'll be over before you know it. Just count to three and it'll be out."
Rainbow nodded. She looked at Applejack. AJ pulled Rainbow onto her lap. Rainbow got comfortable, sitting sideways. The doctor washed her hands and put on some gloves.
She walked up to Rainbow.
"Do ya wanna look??." Applejack asked her.
Rainbow shook her head. Applejack pulled her close, letting her hide her face in the nape of her neck. She held Rainbow securely.
"Just relax." The doctor soothed. "You're okay."
Rainbow did her best to relax. Her racing heart made it hard to do so. She felt her shirt sleeve pulled up and part of the bandaid put on, ready for when the needle was pulled out. Rainbow flinched when she felt a cold antiseptic wipe on her arm, rubbing in a small circle.
She whimpered.
"Okay, Rainbow. Take a nice, deep breath for me and then let it out."
Rainbow felt the doctor touch her left arm. She breathed in through her nose. Then, she exhaled, letting her body relax.
She felt a sharp little jab in her arm, making her tense up. Tears rose to her eyes. She started to sob quietly, wetting Applejack's shirt.
The needle was pulled out and the bandaid was gently pressed onto her arm when the needle had been.
"All done." The doctor announced. "Good job."
Applejack wrapped her arms around Rainbow, rubbing her back. She knew that Rainbow wasn't hurt that much. She was probably mostly had just been scared by the feeling.
The doctor handed Applejack the lollipop to give to Rainbow once she calmed down.
"You girls are free to go." She said. "Now, you'll have to come back in a few weeks on the 25th, for her psychiatrist appointment to talk about her medication."
Applejack nodded.
"Well", the doctor sighed and smiled. "Have a great day, girls."
She looked at Rainbow, who was starting to calm down, sniffling and a few tears in her eyes.
"Cheer up," the doctor said gently, nudging Rainbow's chin. "You're okay, honey."
Applejack said bye and the doctor left the room. Applejack looked down at Rainbow.
"You okay??."
Rainbow sniffled and nodded. She pulled away from Rainbow's embrace. AJ wiped her tears away.
"You were very brave, RD. Just like you always are."
Rainbow smiled a little. Applejack lightly patted her leg.
"Cmon. Let's go and get cha somethin' ta eat. Here"
Applejack gave her the lollipop. Rainbow thanked her, putting the treat in her pocket. Rainbow got off her lap. The two got up, Applejack grabbing Rainbow's backpack she had brought. She looked at Rainbow Dash and took her hand.
They walked out of the room and went to the check out desk. Applejack made the appointment for Rainbow's psychiatrist and they left to the parking lot.
The whole way there, Rainbow kept quietly complaining of her throbbing arm, holding Applejack's hand the whole way to the car.
"Ah know." Applejack said, unlocking the car doors. She opened Rainbow's door, letting Rainbow climb in before closing it. She walked over to the drivers side and got in.
They buckled up and AJ started the car. They drove out of the parking lot.
It was quiet on the way to Burger King. Applejack glanced at Rainbow Dash when they stopped at a red light. Rainbow was playing with the lollipop, twirling it.
"You okay, baby??."
Rainbow reached over and took Rainbow's hand.
Rainbow nodded. "It hurts."
"What do ya wanna eat??." Applejack asked, trying to get Rainbow's mom's off the small "trauma" she had gone through.
"Can I get chicken nuggets??."
Applejack nodded. "Of course."
She leaned over and kissed Rainbow's cheek.
"You can have whatever you want, baby."
Rainbow giggled. Applejack felt good seeing Rainbow smiled again. She hated seeing her girlfriend upset.
"I love you." Rainbow said. "But I really hate needles."
Applejack chuckled. She noticed the light turned green and she kept driving.
"Ah know, baby. Ah know."
So yeah. Comment what you think :)
