It had been a few days later. Rainbow's wounds and bruises were healing. She could finally walk on her own. She could see out of both eyes. Only faint bruising on her body and healing cuts were visible. She was healing.

But she still wasn't talking. She had been seeing therapist for a few days. She continued to use the notepad to write down what she wanted to say. No one pushed her. They let her be and were patient. It had only been a couple of days after all. No one could be completely healed mentally and physically after only a few days after something like that.

Rainbow did open up a little, though. She wasn't as afraid of guys as much anymore. Of course, she was still having nightmares and the doctors had to start giving her medication to put her to sleep at night. Just until she stopped having nightmares and she could finally go to sleep on her own. They didn't want her to become dependent on them. That'll cause an addiction.

The therapist also noticed that Applejack was helping Rainbow. Rainbow was far more calmer and less afraid when Applejack was around. Applejack had admitted that Rainbow does make sounds and noises or somewhat speak to her every once in a while. Kind of like a child that doesn't know how to use their words to communicate.

The therapist recommended that Applejack continue to encourage Rainbow to speak, reminding her that she doesn't have to if she doesn't feel ready to.

As the days went on, Rainbow slowly recovered from her wounds and bruises. She was deemed healthy enough to go home, but had to come every week for therapy.

Applejack quietly zipped up Rainbow's back. She stood up, picking the bag up and hauling it over her shoulder, her own bag in her opposite hand. She took a glance around the hospital room to see if they missed anything. Nope. They got it all.

"Here."

Applejack turned around. Jackson had walked in. He walked up to his daughter.

"I'll take those for ya. You go help Rainbow."

Applejack handed him the bags.

"Thanks." She mumbled before walking out of the room. She walked into the hallway to find Rainbow and the other girls. Applejack stood there and watched Rainbow. The teen was grinning as she listened to Pinkie talk about whatever is was. Applejack wasn't paying attention. Applejack noticed something about Rainbow. She was smiling yet there was a curtain look in her eyes. She wasn't okay.

AJ made a mental note keep a close eye on her and check up on how she was feeling every so often. That's what the therapist wanted her to do as well. Write a journal entry or something about how Rainbow's doing and her behavior or anything odd that Applejack notices around Rainbow.

"Alright." Applejack jumped, the hairs on her arms raising.

She quickly whipped her to the right. She saw Jackson standing there.

"Let's go. Rainbow Dash is home free."

Applejack pulled on a smile and walked up to Rainbow.

"Cmon." She said.

She took Rainbow's hand. They all headed out of the hospital and to the parking lot. Rarity had brought her car that day so she, sunset, and Pinkie rode in that car. Applejack, Rainbow, Jackson, Strike, Fluttershy, and Twilight went into Jackson'a car.

They drove home, playing music in the car and talking. Rainbow silently stared out the window throughout the drive, watching the trees go by. She missed being outside. Seeing everything. The sounds.

Applejack held her hand the whole way. Rainbow made sure of that. It was a comfort to her. Applejack watched Rainbow to make sure she'd be alright since they had no idea how she'd react to being out for the first time since the incident.

When they were almost home, about a few blocks away, they stopped at a red light. Rainbow suddenly inhaled sharply. She squeezed Applejack's, looking away from the window. Her breathing quickened, panic in her eyes.

Applejack noticed.

"Rainbow??. What's wrong??."

Rainbow looked at her.

"This is wh-where I was taken."

Applejack looked ahead. She saw Jackson and Strike looking back at them, concerned.

Applejack looked at Rainbow at was about to have a panic attack. She had to do something.

"Rainbow." She said calmly. "Breathe. It's okay. You're safe, okay??. Nothing is gonna happen to you, alright??. Just breathe, slowly."

Rainbow took a deep breath and then released it. Applejack guided her through a few deep breaths. Rainbow slowly began to calm down. She

Finally the stupid light turned green and could move. They continued down the street, turning into Applejack and Rainbow's street.

They arrived at the house. They got Rainbow inside and on the couch, bringing their bags inside. The butler took their bags upstairs.

"You girls gonna be okay??." Strike asked, giving the house an inspection to make sure they'd be safe, most likely just to make Rainbow feel safe that he checked.

"Yup." Applejack said. "We're good. Thank you, by the way."

"No problem." Strike said. "So, we'll let you two rest. Call us if you need anything. Anything."

Applejack nodded. Everyone left, leaving AJ and Rainbow alone in their home. Applejack took her shoes off. She sighed as she flopped onto the couch. Rainbow smiled at her.

Applejack noticed her staring and looked at her.

"What??."

Rainbow shrugged.

"Miss Applejack."

The blonde teen sat up. Their butler walked up to them.

"Would you like anything??. How are you two??."

"We're fine, thank you. Rainbow....... well, it's a long story."

"I heard the news a few weeks ago when Miss Dash went missing." He said.

He turned to Rainbow.

"Are you alright??. Miss Smith has told me that you were staying in the hospital

Rainbow nodded. She could tell the man was looking at her barely there bruises and cuts. She looked at Applejack.

"She's doing much better now." Applejack informed him. "Thank you for caring. We'll be upstairs in our room."

The man nodded.

"If you need something, you know to just ring me up."

Applejack nodded. She looked at Rainbow Dash.

"C'mon, baby."

She and Rainbow went upstairs to their room. The room had been cleaned up, the bed made, their bags next to their dressers.

Rainbow and Applejack climbed into bed. They sat there for a little while, in comfortable silence. Rainbow had missed being home. She hadn't been home since the kidnapping.

Rainbow looked at Applejack. She noticed Applejack looked a little....... upset?? She looked like she was thinking.

Rainbow reached out and took her hand.
Applejack looked up at her. She had watery eyes. As she stared at Rainbow, she pursed her lips together.

"Are you okay??." Rainbow whispered.

Applejack shook her head. She blinked, letting the tears fall. Rainbow was now concerned. She gripped her girlfriend's hand. Applejack sniffled.

"Ah'm so sorry." She sobbed.

Rainbow gave her a questioning look.

Applejack looked away.

"It was mah fault you got taken. If ah had gone with ya, none of this would've happened to ya."

Rainbow shook her head. She wiped Applejack's tears away, kissing her cheeks and forehead.

"It....... wasn't your fault."

"Yes it was." Applejack said. "It was all mah fault. I'm so sorry, Rainbow."

Rainbow wrapped her arms around Applejack waist, hugging her. Applejack hugged back, resting her chin on Rainbow's shoulder.

"It wasn't your fault." Rainbow repeated. "You couldn't have known....... it would happen so...... there's nothing to be sorry about. But um....... if it makes you feel better, I don't blame you and I forgive you. I'm not mad at you."

Applejack sobbed into Rainbow's shoulder.

Rainbow had no idea Applejack was bearing all that guilt. She had blamed herself for what those men did to Rainbow.

Rainbow pulled away. She looked at Applejack and grinned.

"Feel better??."

Applejack nodded, wiping her tears away.

"Thanks." AJ said. "I'm okay."

Rainbow nodded. Applejack smiled.

"You talked again."

Rainbow shrugged. "I felt......... like you needed it. I had to tell you myself."

Applejack kissed her forehead.

"How do you feel??." She asked.

"Okay." Rainbow shrugged.

"Let's get some rest." Applejack suggested. "We can stay in bed all day. Just like ah promised you."

Rainbow smiled. She nodded. Applejack got up.

"Ah'll be right back."

Rainbow got into bed. Applejack walked out. Rainbow laid back, settling into bed. Thought about everything that had happened the past week. She realized that she would probably have to go to court to testify against the men that kidnapped her.

Rainbow knew her life would never be the same. She would never be the same. She didn't know if that was good or bad, but she knew she wasn't alone.

She thought of Applejack. Her kind, brave, good-hearted, beautiful girlfriend that loved her so much she was willing to give those men a ton of her fortune just so Rainbow would be safe. And it was obvious that those didn't hold up their end of the deal. But Rainbow had Applejack. Applejack stayed with her during her hospital stay, took care of her, protected her, and helped her recover.

She was Rainbow's rock. She would always be there for Rainbow, no matter what, ready to help and support her and protect her. Rainbow knew that now.

She was so lucky to have her.

She was snapped out of her thoughts by footsteps. She looked at the door, her muscles tensing up. Applejack walked in.

Rainbow relaxed, releasing a breath, she didn't know she was holding. Applejack noticed.

"What happened??."

Rainbow chuckled. "You scared me."

Rainbow looked at the things in Applejack's hand. Candy and popcorn. She asked a unspoken question, raising an eyebrow.

AJ grinned. "We're gonna watch a movie."

Rainbow smiled, her face lighting up.

Applejack gave her the bag of extra buttery popcorn and their candy. Reese's cups for Rainbow and sour patch for Applejack. Applejack put in a movie. The lights were turned off and they snuggled in bed.

Applejack wrapped an arm around Rainbow Dash's waist. She gave her a kiss.

"Ah love you so much."

Rainbow smiled.

"I love you, too."

Rainbow and Applejack knew Rainbow's road to recovery would be a tough one. But she wasn't alone. She had Applejack. With Applejack, Rainbow knew she'd be safe.

Safe and Sound.
