Applejack boredly stared at the tv, barely even paying attention to the program that was playing. She kept glancing at the clock that was about a few feet to the right of it. She bounced her left knee rapidly.

"C'mon, Rainbow." She muttered. "What's takin' ya so long??"

Her girlfriend, Rainbow Dash, had gone to the dog food store a few blocks down to pick up some stuff for their dog, Tank. Applejack had wanted to go with her, but Rainbow refused to let her. She told AJ that she wanted to do it by herself for once, since Applejack was always the one to go to the store. AJ gave up and gave her the money she needed and the house key.

Rainbow said she wouldn't be gone for long. That was almost three hours ago.
Applejack looked back at the tv then the clock. It hit three pm. It was now three hours since Rainbow left.

That was it. Applejack shot up to her feet. She took out her phone and unlocked her phone. She punched in Rainbow's contact and pressed call.

Applejack pressed the phone to her ear, her free hand on her hip, her feet tapping as she waiting. The phone rang and rang.

The it was picked up.

"Hello, Applejack." A deep, scruffy male voice answered, making AJ freeze.

"Who's this??." She asked, almost afraid of the answer

The man chuckled darkly. "With me and a partner of mine. Don't worry. We haven't hurt her. Yet."

Applejack swallowed. "What do you want from me??." Her voice was thick and grave.

She tried her best to hide the fear in her voice. Her Rainbow was in danger.

"I want 10,000 dollars by Friday."

Friday. That was five days away.

"And then you'll return Rainbow?? Safely n' in one piece??."

"Yes. I promise she won't be harmed if you give me the money. But until then, Rainbow stays with me."

It went silent for a moment.

"She's a tough one. Threatened to tear my partner's throat out. She would if she could. I know she isn't lying. How do you control such a wild thing??."

Applejack's jaw clenched.

"Look, ya shitbag. You better not hurt her. Ah'll give ya yir money. Just don't harm her in any way and that means keep yir hormones in check."

"I'm not an animal, Miss Smith. Ah have no intension on doing such a horrid crime. I'm not a monster."

"And yet, you kidnapped a girl fir ransom." Applejack sassed.

He chuckled. "Got me there. Would you like to speak with her??."

Applejack jumped at the chance to hear Rainbow's voice.

"Yes!." She said immediately.

"Alright."

There was a shuffling sound. Applejack's palms were sweaty as she waited.

"Applejack??."

Applejack felt as if a large weight had been lifted from her shoulders when she heard Rainbow's voice.

"Rainbow. It's me."

"I'm okay, AJ. Just please don't do anything stupid."

Applejack laughed. Usually, it was switched. Applejack would be telling Rainbow not to do anything stupid.

"Ah won't, baby. I'm gonna get you home. Ah promise ah'll do everythin' ah can."

She heard Rainbow giggle.

"I love you." She said. "Hang in there until Friday. Then you'll come home."

"I love you too, Freckles."

There was rustling sound on the other end. Applejack froze, anticipating what would happen next.

"You're welcome. Well, I'll keep in touch, AJ. On Thursday night I'll text you the place where you'll meet us. Your little girlfriend will be safe, but I can't help it if we have to use some convincing tactics if she tries to escape."

Applejack paled. She hoped Rainbow wouldn't give them any trouble. She knew how Rainbow was. Alway trying to act tough and brave in the face of danger.

"Alright. Friday."

"Friday."

The line went dead. Applejack stood there, unsure of what to do. Rainbow had been kidnapped and was being held hostage for her money.

Damn being a millionaire.

The sound of the doorbell ringing made Applejack jump, her heart stopping for a split second. She walked out of the room, walking down the hall. She passed by her personal butler, Midnight skies, but she paid no mind to him.

AJ walked down the hall and down the grand flight of stairs that went down to the first floor. She switched to a light jog up to the front door. Unlocking it, she swung it open to reveal Twilight, Sunset Shimmer, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie. When they saw Applejack's state of distress, they frowned.

"What's wrong, Applejack??." Sunset asked.

Applejack couldn't get the words out. She stood there, her mouth gaping, wringing her hands, unable to make eye contact.

The girls lightly pushed their way past Applejack, going into the house. Applejack closed the door.

"Where's Dashie??." Pinkie asked casually.

Applejack couldn't speak. She shrugged, her face starting to crumble. She blinked back tears, crossing her arms.

"Applejack." Sunset said, walking up to her.

She put her hands on Applejack's arms.

"Did something happen to Rainbow Dash??."

Applejack nodded. She took a shaky breath.

"She was kidnapped."

The girls gasped, their eyes widened.

"How do you know??." Fluttershy asked.

Applejack held up her phone. "He called me with her phone just before ya'll got here. Said he wants ten thousand dollars from me by Friday."

Her voice was soft and shaky as she spoke.

"Ah got ta talk to her. She's okay. Fir now."

"Let's call the police." Twilight said. "My brother can help us."

Applejack shrugged helplessly. "Ah don't know what ta do, guys. Rainbow's out there, with men who could do anything they want ta her. She must be so afraid."

Applejack began ta pace. "The man said that they won't hurt her, but Rainbow tends ta talk crap to people if she feels threatened or scared n' she tends ta bring out the bad temper in people."

AJ rubbed the back in her neck. She could feel her head swirl with thoughts of what could be happening to her girlfriend.

"Applejack." Twilight said, snapping her back into the real world.

AJ looked at her.

"Oh. Right. Um."

AJ swallowed, looking around. She nodded.

"Alright. Let's go find yir brother."

The room was so silent, you could hear a pin drop. No one said a word. Applejack stared down at the phone on the table in front of her, hands clasped. Sunset and Rarity sat on either side of her. Fluttershy, Pinkie and Twilight were standing leaning against the wall.

Rainbow's uncle was there, biting his finger nails.

Strike had been beside himself when he found out Rainbow was kidnapped. He had basically threatened the police that if they try their hardest to find her and bring her back alive, there would be hell to pay. Applejack's dad was a bit more calmer, and had to talk some reason into the other man. He also worried for Rainbow. She was basically his second kid. He kept his head in his shoulders and was there to comfort Applejack. He had kept AJ company that night and slept over so she wouldn't be alone.

The two looked at each other as time ticked on in pure silence.

The detectives sat across from them, ready for the call. The team's tracker was sitting on one side of the table, his laptop sitting in his lap. His equipment was set up, ready for when the moment came.

Applejack sighed quietly. She looked at the time. The minutes seemed to tick by so slowly.

Suddenly, the phone rang, making her jump. Everyone froze, as they looked at the screen.

Rainbow appeared on the screen, and her profile contact pic flashed.

Applejack looked up at the detective. The man gave a nod. Applejack picked up the phone with shaky hands and pressed answer, holding the phone to her ear.

"Hi."

The tracker got to work.

"Why, hello, AJ. Glad to hear your voice again. Sleep well."

Applejack clenched her jaw. She used every ounce of self-restraint to not curse him out right then and there. She had to keep the call going until the detective found its location.

"You don't really care." She snapped. "How's Rainbow Dash??. Is she okay??."

"She's........ well........ unconscious."

Applejack's eyes widened.

"What did you do to her??." She growled.

"The bitch wouldn't stop trying to escape and she got one of my men angry and beat her till he shut her up."

Applejack suddenly felt sick.

"You're a monster. You said she wouldn't be harmed."

"I said I won't harm her. What happened was out of my control. Plus, it's one way to keep her quiet. She's easily scared. Maybe giving her a few bruises every so often will teach her a lesson. She's a tough one. How do you handle her?."

AJ looked at the tracker. He was typing furiously in his laptop.

"Just tell me where you wanna met on Friday." She demanded sharply.

She picked up a pen that was on the table, right next to a notepad.

"Feisty. I like it. Okay, okay."

Applejack scribbled down the location he gave her.

"Bring her with you or no money." She threatened.

"If you don't bring me the money, she does."

AJ felt a cold chill at the threat. He'd kill Rainbow. Sick bastard. She swore, if he touched Rainbow in any disgusting way.......

"Would you like to talk to her??. She's starting to wake up."

AJ nodded furiously. "Yes, please."

The man made an amused sound. There was rustling for a few moments.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty. Nap time's over."

A minute passed. Finally.

"A-Applejack??"

Applejack laughed in relief.

"Rainbow. Yeah, it's me, baby. It's me. Thank Celestia."

"I wanna go home."

That broke Applejack's heart.

"Ah know. Ah want you home too. But don't worry. Me and the girls are gonna get you out of there. Ah promise."

"Okay. I love you."

Applejack swallowed thickly.

"Ah love you, too. So much, Rainbow. It'll be okay. When we get you back, and when you get home, we'll have a day all to ourselves. We'll stay inside our room, the lights off, staying in bed all day if you want. We can watch tv or movies, and cuddle in bed. Ah'll even read ya yir favorite Darin' Do stories and you can have as much candy as you want. Just me and you, okay??."

"O-Okay. Applejack. They hurt me and they'll do it again. I know they will. I'm not coming out of here unharmed. I'm scared they'll kill me."

"They can't." Applejack said. "They need you alive to get the money they want from me. They won't kill you, baby."

"Okay."

There was rustling.

"Time's up." The man's voice spoke through the phone.

AJ closed her eyes, trying to hold her emotions together.

"Don't forget. Show up at 8 am on Friday. We'll be waiting and so will Rainbow Dash."

The line went dead. Applejack angrily tossed the phone onto the couch, making the girls jump.

"AJ." Her dad said. "What happened??."

Applejack raised her hands up to her head, resting them there.

"They're beatin' her. She just woke up from gett'n knocked unconscious."

"Well." The team's tracker said, grinning. "I found the phone's location. Idiots probably don't have much experience with kidnapping."

Applejack felt relief at those words.

The head detective stood up.

"Let's go, guys. Call in a team and tell them."

It all happened so fast. The next few hours were a blur. They had to travel outside of the city. A few cities down, which took till the next morning to get to. They drove on and on. They came to a small city. They drove out to the desert. It took another three hours to find the location. It led them to an abandoned warehouse. The police parked outside of the warehouse. A safe distant away so the men wouldn't hear the cars.

AJ climbed out of the car. She was joined by the others. The police squad made their ways towards the warehouse, their guns drawn.

Applejack watched them enter the warehouse through an entrance the team had found. Five or six other policemen were stationed outside, ready to trap the men if they ever decided to try and escape. There were two or three ambulances as well.

The girls and the men waited, watching in anticipation. There were so many outcomes of this situation. Rainbow could be hurt. Shot, even. She could probably not even be there anymore since it took so long to get there.

Applejack's eyes were sore from not sleeping that night. She had stayed up all night, worrying. What would Rainbow look like when she was found?? What would her state be?? Mentally?? Physically??

She didn't know how long it had been. The sun was rising up high in the sky. The heat was unbearable.

Applejack was snapped out of her thoughts by a hand in her shoulder. She turned her head to see her dad, Jackson looking at something. He had a relieved look on his face.

"Look, sweetheart." He said.

Applejack turned her head. She inhaled sharply. The men were being led out, one on a stretcher. AJ glared daggers at one of them. He was a tall, buff man, who had some stubble. He had a crew cut hairstyle. His arms had a few bruises on them and had a bloody lip. AJ could only hope the cops did that and not Rainbow which resulted in her getting beaten. The man notice the group as they were led past them.

He and Applejack made eye contact. He smirked.

"Guess she was right." He said.

That deep voice made the hairs on the back of Applejack's neck stand up. She was looking at the man who took Rainbow. That monster.

Applejack smirked at him, crossing her arms.

"No money fir you." She taunted.

They all watched as the men were loaded into either a cop car or an ambulance.

"Guys." Sunset suddenly said. "Look."

They all turned their heads. They gasped. A police officer came out, holding a someone. Applejack could see the multiple colors of the rainbow. Rainbow Dash.

Two paramedics went rushing over with a stretcher. They came back with a bloodied, bruised up Rainbow Dash.

Applejack and Strike ran up to them. They walked quickly beside the stretcher. Applejack looked down at Rainbow. The girl was unconscious. Her left eye was swollen, a black ring around it. Her lips were chapped, and had a cut on her bottom lip. Her had multiple cuts and bruises up her arms, legs, and face. Dried blood matted her hair and skin.

The paramedics rushed Rainbow into the ambulance. The woman turned to look at Applejack and Strike.

"One of you can come."

Applejack and Strike looked at each other.

"You go." AJ said. "She'll need a guardian with er. We'll meet cha there."

Strike nodded. He climbed into the ambulance, the door slamming shut. The ambulances sped away. Applejack stood there, in shock at all that just happened.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and jumped. She turned and saw her dad standing there.

"C'mon". He said. "Let's go to the hospital. We have a long way to Canterlot hospital."

Applejack nodded.

"Alright."
