"No. You need to stop being such a bitch".

"ME??. OH I'M A BITCH. YOU CHEATED LIKE FIVE TIMES!!".

"NOT MY FAULT".

Rainbow sighed. She sat up straight on her bed. She could hear the yelling downstairs. Her parents were arguing. Again. This time her dad had been caught cheating. Again. Rainbow's mom and her had come home to find a woman in bed with the man.

Rainbow honestly saw it coming. Her dad was always doing something he shouldn't, like getting drunk and cheating. Then again, her mom wasn't any better. She would get drink and or high in the living room. The whole house would smell like smoke. Rainbow just ignored it and stayed in her room. The perfect way to spend Christmas Day. Rainbow could only imagine what everyone else in town was doing. Laughing. Playing in the snow. Drinking hot chocolate. Being happy.

But Rainbow learned over the years how to ignore the yelling and curse words. Unless one of them came into her room. Then the beatings started. Rainbow couldn't remember a day where either parent came into her room other than to beat her or yell at her.

Rainbow had grown up this way and for all she knew, she'd die this way. Or until she could move out. Which will never happen according to her dad. Plus. Rainbow couldn't leave her mom. Her mom needed her. She only drank and smoked to relieve the pain from her husband. Wasn't her fault.

Rainbow stood up. She grabbed her jacket off the chair at her desk and slipped it on along with her hat. She slipped on some winter boots. Rainbow grabbed her bag and walked out. She needed some time alone. A walk would do her some good.

"Are you sure??".

Applejack smiled and nodded.

"Ah'm sure Dad".

Jackson frowned. "Alright. Ah just don't want cha ta spend Christmas alone".

Applejack smiled.

"Ah'll be just fine".

"Well alright. C'mon Applebloom. We're goin ta granny's house. Applejack. We'll be back tomorrow".

Applebloom and Jackson walked out into the cold winter morning. Applejack closed the door. She sighed and looked around the empty house.
What now??.

Applejack thought a walk should be in order. She ran upstairs to her room. Applejack walked. Her boots were on the heater. Grabbing them, she slipped them on, along with her hat and gloves. She decided to head ta Dunkin' Donuts for a hot chocolate and a donut.

Rainbow shivered in the cold. Her nose was starting to run. Her hands were starting to hurt.

But this total beat being at home. Rainbow Dash stuff her freezing hands into her thin jacket pockets.

"Stupid jacket", she muttered. The jacket offered a little warmth to her but not much.

Rainbow noticed that the roads were pretty much empty that day. She passed by house after house filled with people and noise. She could smell food from Christmas parties going on, making her stomach growled. Rainbow hadn't eaten since yesterday.

Rainbow's legs were growing tited. She decided that a rest was needed. Rainbow looked around. She spotted a bench. Walking over it, she slowly sat down. Her body shivered in the cold. She leaned her head against the back of the bench, closing her eyes.

She felt that a nap wouldn't kill her. She had noone to care anyway.

Applejack sipped on the hot chocolate. It felt nice against her cold mouth and hands. Applejack sighed in content. The blonde walked out of Dunkin Donuts her chocolate in one hand, a bag with two Donuts and another hot chocolate in the other. She stopped and looked around. Suddenly something caught her eye.

Across the empty street, was someone sleeping on the bench. Applejack raised an eyebrow. She decided to check up on the person. It was below zero and that person could freeze to death in a few hours. Applejack quickly walked across the street. She cautiously approached the bench.

As she got closer, she realize the person was a girl. She had to stop in her tracks. Man. This girl was cute. She had rainbow colored hair. She had on a blue and red jacket. Applejack thought was really cute. The girl was curled up on the bench, sound asleep.

Applejack placed the extra cup of hot chocolate and the bag of donuts down on the long bench. She gently shook the girl. The girl's eyes opened immediately. She sat up with a jolt, startling Applejack.

The girl looked at her. Applejack's tongue went numb. Big magenta hued eyes looked at her. They were the most beautiful color Applejack had ever seen. Suddenly her eyes went down to the girl's lips which were moving. She realized the girl was talking to her. Applejack snapped out of her trance.

"What??".

The girl shifted.

"I said thanks for waking me up".

Applejack smiled slightly.

'No prob. Aren't cha cold??. Don't cha got somewhere ta be??".

The girl shook her head.

"No. Not exactly".

Applejack frowned. "What. You don't have a family ir someone??".

The girl made a face that said, 'wellll.....'.

"My parents aren't exactly sober at the moment. Or calm".

The girl deflated a little. "Or happy to be around eachother. Or..... safe to be around......".

The girl looked away. Applejack knelt down. That worried her.

"My name is Applejack. Uh....Are you okay??. What's wrong with yir folks if ya don't me askin??".

The girl shrugged. "I'm Rainbow Dash and my parents aren't exactly the nicest people".

Rainbow Dash moved her hair out of her face. Applejack gasped.

"Where's ja get that bruise from??".

Rainbow's eyes widened. She brought a hand up to her face.

"Oh this. This was an accident. Got elbowed. Don't worry about it".

Applejack raised an eyebrow.

"You sure??".

Rainbow nodded. She stood up. Applejack did as well. She found she was taller than Rainbow Dash for about an inch or two. Applejack looked down about Rainbow to see her teeth chattering.

"You must be freezing".

Rainbow shook her head.

"I-I'm fine. Don't worry about me".

Rainbow mentally cursed. Her stupid teeth wouldn't stop chattering. The sound was easy to hear in the quiet.
Applejack looked back at the extra hot chocolate she had. She picked it up.

"Here", she said holding it out.

Rainbow's eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh. You don't have to".

Applejack smiled. "Just take it".

Rainbow stared at the cup contemplating if she should or not. At some point she eyed it suspiciously. Applejack rolled her eyes.

"It ain't drugged. Promise".

Rainbow smiled. She took the warm foam cup.

"Thank you".

Applejack smiled. "Say. Since ah have the house to mahself taday, an you don't have anywhere ta go. Wanna come over??".

Rainbow raised an eyebrow. Applejack chuckled.

"Ah'm not a murderer. Nor am ah gon get chu murdered. You can trust me. If it's one thang ah don't do, is lie".

Rainbow Dash looked her up and down.

"Alright. Only because I like you. You're hot".

Applejack motioned for her to follow. She picked up the bag of donuts. The two walked side by side down the street. Applejack had a blush on her face.

Keep your cool AJ. It's a stranger you just met a few minutes ago. For all you know SHE is the murderer. Though she is cute.

The girls arrived at Applejack's house. The two went in. Rainbow looked around. It was nice. Carpeted floor, Christmas decorations everywhere but no too overbearing. Just right.

"Wow", she said. "Nice place. My house is practically falling apart".

Applejack smiled. "C'mon. Ah'll show ya around".

Applejack laughed. She took a sip of her hot chocolate. The girls were sitting by the fireplace, telling stories.

"Are you kidding me??", Rainbow asked, laughing.

Applejack shook her head, giggling.

"It's true. Cupcakes flew everywhere. Ah remember one landed in mah hair. It took me hours ta get the smell of and the actual icin' out. Though ah like the smell of icin'. So did a mouse that wandered into mah room that night".

Applejack shuddered at the memory.

"Ugh. Mice".

Rainbow laughed.

"Man. You have some crazy friends", Rainbow said smiling. "I wish I had friends".

Applejack frowned.

"Why don't cha??".

Rainbow sighed. "My parents don't tell me out much".

Rainbow looked at the fireplace. She quietly bit into her donut. Applejack watched her for a moment. She knew Rainbow was holding something in.
Applejack reached a hand out and touched hers.

Rainbow Dash looked at her. Applejack then said, "You can tell me whatever you want, whenever. Ah won't judge. Promise. Just sayin".

Rainbow nodded, looking away. She turned.

"I........".

Rainbow sighed, shaking her head.

"Nevermind".

"Rainbow".

Rainbow looked at her hands. Applejack gave her a pleading look, although she couldn't see it.

"Please. Tell me".

Rainbow sighed. She glanced up at Applejack. She sighed.

"My dad likes to throw me around alot. He and my mom were arguing over something my dad did. They were both drunk. I had to get out of there. Getting stuck in the middle of that fight was not how I wanted to spend my Christmas".

"What were you plannin' on doin once you got out??".

Rainbow shrugged. "Walk around for a while. Then come back when I know for sure they're either passed out, or too drunk to even notice me when I get home".

"What happens if they do see ya??".

Rainbow laughed. "Then I'm in for a beating of the century. That'll be my Christmas present".

Rainbow shrugged. "But whatever".

Applejack nudged her gently. Rainbow looked at her.

"Rainbow. Do your parents beat you alot?", Applejack asked.

Rainbow nodded. "They're always drunk. They only drink when they're angry. So yup. Almost everyday".

Applejack's eyes widened. Abuse. Rainbow shrugged.

"You get use to it", she said carelessly.

Applejack reached out and took her hand.

"Ah'm sorry. You don't deserve that".

Rainbow looked at Applejack. She suddenly shivered and looked at the fireplace. Rainbow rubbed her arm. Applejack pulled a blanket up over their shoulders. Rainbow smiled, feeling the warmth. She blushed.

Suddenly she felt a hand on her waist. Rainbow looked at Applejack, Applejack doing the same. Both smiled at eachother.

"You know", Rainbow said. "I have to go home sooner or later".

"Well choose never. Cause ah'm not lettin' ya go back to yir parents".

Rainbow sighed. "I have to. I can't leave my mom with him. He cheats on her and is always drunk. I can't leave her. She'd be totally alone of I wasn't there. I can't tell anyone".

"But cha told me", Applejack said.

Rainbow looked at her. "I don't know why. I guess I trust you".

Applejack smiled a little. She was honored.

"Let's not worry about that right now. For now".

Applejack pulled Rainbow Dash close. Rainbow laid her head on Applejack's shoulder.

"Just relax".

Rainbow smiled. She drank the rest of her hot chocolate and put the cup down, wiping her mouth. Rainbow sighed.

"This is nice".

Applejack nodded. "Yes. It is".

The girls sat there. The only sound was the fire cracking.

"Ah didn't plan on spending Christmas with anyone", Applejack said.

Rainbow looked at her.

"Me neither".

Applejack smiled. "But ah guess fate had other plans".

Rainbow laughed. "I guess so".

Both girls giggled. Applejack smiled.

"Hey uh.... you wanna go out sometime??", she asked.

Rainbow's eyes widened. Applejack bit her lip nervously. Rainbow smiled.

"Sure".

Applejack wrapped her arm around Rainbow's waist. She and Rainbow Dash looked at the fire.

"Merry Christmas Rainbow", Applejack said smiling.

Rainbow grinned. "Merry Christmas to you too, AJ".

A very merry Christmas indeed.
