My little hybrid part 8

Enjoy :) sorry for any grammar mistakes and sorry for the looong wait again. I had a busy week. Don't forget to comment!!

She was NOT avoiding Applejack.

That's what Rainbow told herself and the other girls. She was simply staying far away from Applejack, because if she don't, Rainbow might end up puking up her confession and maybe just literally puking after doing so for just being next to the beautifully tan and gorgeous girl.

That was not going to happen.

Rainbow peeked out from around the corner. She looked into the kitchen. It was empty. Good.

Rainbow silently crept along the floor on all fours. She was careful as she walked along, her ears on radar for any sound that Applejack was coming. But it was quiet. She was good for now.

Rainbow crept over to the one of the counters area things. She stood up. Rainbow gently twitched her ears. She looked up at the cupboards. Her eyes scanned the height of it. She was 4'9 and she'd have to reach at least 6 inches to reach the knob. She gulped as she looked at the tiny, shiny knob.

With one hand on the counter, Rainbow lifted onto the toe of her sneakers. She reached a hand out and stretched. Her slender, small fingers grasped the knob. Rainbow smiled in victory as she swing open the cabinet.

Her smile faltered. Her eyes lifted up to where the cookies sat up on one of the shelves. Man, that was high.

Rainbow stuck her tongue out in thought. Hmmmm.......

Rainbow looked at the counter top then at the cookies. She looked back and forth between the two.

Lightbulb.

Rainbow went over to the counter. She looked down at her feet to make sure she wasn't wearing socks. She wasn't. Good. Rainbow used all the muscle strength she had and pulled herself onto the counter.

Step 1: done.

Rainbow looked above her at the pantry door. She grabbed on to anything stable. She slowly got to her feet. Rainbow was now standing on the counter top. She knew that this was dangerous and a little crazy. But hey. She wanted cookies.

Rainbow held onto the edge of the pantry with her right hand. She twisted her body so she could reach around. Rainbow reached up with her left arm.

She smiled when she grabbed the cookie box. The hybrid girl took the cookies off the shelf and held it in front of her. Jackpot.

Rainbow got on her knees. She placed the cookies down and concentrated on getting herself down. Rainbow turned her body and started to climb off the counter.

Suddenly her knee slipped off. Rainbow fell off the counter with a scream. She felt the back of her head hit something hard.

She hit the floor. The teen hybrid laid there for a second in shock.

"Rainbow!!".

Next thing Rainbow knew, Applejack was kneeling beside her. Rainbow's laughed nervously, her eyes falling flat against her head. She feared Applejack would be angry at her for climbing on the counter. She prepared herself for the scolding and or yelling she was going to get.

"Rainbow", Applejack said. "Are you alright, sugarcube??. Did you hit yir head??".

Rainbow was confused. Why wasn't she yelling??.

"You're not mad at me??", she asked.

Applejack shook her head. "Of coarse not. Ah'm just worried if you got hurt".

Rainbow started to sit up, Applejack helping her. Suddenly Rainbow gasped and cringed. She held a hand to her head. Her head hurt and her knee stung. She probably scraped itn

Applejack saw her face.

"Did you hit chur head when you fell??", she asked.

Rainbow nodded. "I think so".

Applejack helped her sit up. Rainbow rested her back on the side of the other kitchen counter. Applejack looked her over.

"My knee hurts", Rainbow said quietly.

Applejack looked at Rainbow's left knee. She saw a bad scrape on her kneecap.

"You scraped yir knee", Applejack said. "It ain't that bad but ah'll have ta out a band aid on it".

Applejack looked at Rainbow, worry in her eyes.

"I'll get cha some ice and some other stuff", she said. "Stay right here and try not to move too much".

Rainbow watched her as Applejack got a sandwich bag and then went to fill it with ice. Applejack wrapped the icepack in papertowels, which really confused Rainbow. Rainbow looked at her curiously. Ice??. For what??.

Applejack came back with an icepack. Rainbow took it from her and stared at it in awe.

"Woah", she said, eyes examining it. "What is it??".

Applejack gave her a weird look.

"Uh..... an icepack".

Rainbow looked at it in wonder, examining the cold item from every angle. Applejack watched her.

"Have ya never seen an icepack before?", Applejack asked.

Rainbow looked up at her best friend and shook her head slowly. "Nope. What does it do??".

Applejack was shocked. Never??. Where has Rainbow been living??. Under a rock??. Then she remembered. Rainbow used to be a punching bag for the adults that used to own her. Maybe they never let her heal her bruises with ice and stuff. Applejack decided she should ask just to make sure. Otherwise she'd be thinking about it all day.

"Rainbow", she said. "Did yir um...... old masters ever give you anythin' ta heal yir bruises??".

Rainbow shook her head slowly. "No. They just locked me in my room each time after they beat me up. My bumps and bruises healed on their own. Us Nekos are sensitive but we heal faster than humans so that's why there are stress reliever servants like me to take the punches and kicks".

Applejack shook her head. "Well", she said. Applejack exhaled and smiled kindly at the neko. "When ya live with me, you'll get the medical treatment ya need, no matter how small the bruise is".

Rainbow looked down at the icepack.

"Does it hurt??", she asked, a hint of fear in her voice.

Applejack chuckled. "No. It's cold but it don't hurt at all. Here. Let me show ya".

Rainbow handed her the ice pack. Applejack helped her sit up. She reached around to the back Rainbow's head. Pressing the icepack to the back of her head, Applejack saw Rainbow flinch at the coldness.

She chuckled quietly.

"It's alright", she said. "Just relax. Yir head probably hurts from hitting it, huh??".

"Yeah", Rainbow said.

"That's normal but not a good thing", Applejack said. "Ah'll have ta keep an eye on you fir a few days. You might have a concussion".

"What's that??", Rainbow asked.

Man. What did they teach this girl??. Has she ever gone to school or anything or did they just keep her from the outside world most of her life??.

Applejack told her to hold the pack to her head.

"Let's get cha to the bathroom so ah can disinfect that scrape on yir knee".

Rainbow winced and hissed in pain when she moved her injured knee.

"Ow".

"Can you get up??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow shook her head.

"Hurts too much", she said.

Applejack thought for a moment.

"Ah have an idea. Ah'll carry ya".

Rainbow let her. Applejack wrapped an arm under Rainbow's legs and around her torso. Rainbow carefully wrapped her arms around her neck. AJ hoisted her up, getting up to her feet.

She went slow so she wouldn't jerk the smaller girl around and hurt her. She kept in mind that Rainbow said that Nekos were sensitive. Applejack was a strong girl, so she made sure to be gentle with Rainbow.

"You good??", she asked cautiously. "Am ah holdin' ya too tight??".

Rainbow shook her head. She laid her head on Applejack's shoulder.

"My head hurts".

Applejack turned and walked out of the kitchen and down the hall. They came to the bathroom. Rainbow flicked the light on with her foot. The light flooded into the room, making her cringe.

Applejack walked in. She went up to the sink.

"Ah'm gonna put cha on the counter. Okay??".

Rainbow clung to her, burying her face into her shirt. Her head must really be hurting.

"What's wrong??", Applejack asked. "Is it chur head??".

Rainbow nodded.

"Youre comfortable", she said.

Applejack smiled. She made sure Rainbow still had the icepack with her. Then she had an idea.

"How about this", she said quietly. "You know what makes me feel better when ah don't feel so good??".

Rainbow shrugged. Applejack grinned.

"Whenever ah got hurt when ah was little, my dad would help patch me up and then kiss all them better and then we'd go watch a movie and cuddle on our couch with ice cream or candy. How does that sound to you??".

Rainbow nodded timidly. "Okay".

Applejack smiled. "Alright then. Let's get cha cleaned up".

Applejack set Rainbow on the counter. Rainbow went back to holding the icepack to her head.

"It's cold", she said.

Applejack laughed. "Yeah. It is".

Applejack got out some medical supplies like rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, a small hand towel, and medical bandages.

Rainbow looked at the items as Applejack laid them out on the counter. Applejack washed her hands and dried them before getting started.

"First Ah'm gonna disinfect that scrape so it don't get infected".

Rainbow watched her take the rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball. She dabbed the cotton with the alcohol.

"This is alcohol. This is for disinfectin' wounds. This will sting so don't be scared if it hurts. It just means it's killin' the bacteria. Okay??".

Rainbow nodded, biting her lip.

"You can hold on to mah shirt".

Rainbow hesitated for a moment. Applejack gave a nod of encouragement.

"It's okay. Grip the bottom so you can squeeze it if it hurts".

Rainbow clutched onto the bottom of Applejack's flannel shirt. Applejack started to lightly dab the cotton on the scrape. Rainbow hissed and jumped. Applejack lightly blew on the injury. She looked up at Rainbow.

She felt bad. She didn't like causing her pain but it had to be done. The hybrid had never had medical attention before for anything so this pain was new to her.

"Ah know, baby", she said. "It's okay. Just hold still".

Rainbow collected herself and took a deep breath and nodded for her to continue. She soldiered through the pain, clutching the clothing in her hand. Rainbow officially hated this.

It took a few minutes for Applejack to finish up. Then she tool out the bandage. It was a big white square thing.

"That's a bandaid??", Rainbow asked.

"It's a different kind", Applejack replied. "This is fir worse injuries like the one you have. It'll keep the bacteria away and keep anything from touchin' it".

Applejack carefully put the bandage on her. She then smiled.

"All done", she said.

Applejack cleaned up the stuff, putting everything back. She washed her hands.

Finishing up, she looked at Rainbow.

"So how did you manage ta fall like that??".

Rainbow's eyes widened. Uh oh.

She gulped nervously, her eyes looking anywhere but Applejack. She fiddled with her hands.

"Well....... um.....".

Applejack leaned on the counter. She raised an eyebrow at the strange behavior. She laughed when she realized what was going on.

"Ah won't be angry at you", she said. "Ah can't be mad at you".

Rainbow looked at her. Applejack smiled at her.

"Let me guess", Applejack said. "You wanted to get the cookies on the shelf and so you decided that climbing onto the counter was a good idea".

Rainbow stared at for a moment.

"How did you know??", she asked.

Applejack laughed. "It's not that hard. Ah saw the cookies on the counter. Ah put them up high so ah knew you probably climbed up to get em".

Rainbow looked at her lap, embarrassed. Applejack probably thought she was a reckless idiot.

"But it's okay", Applejack said.

Rainbow looked up at her. "Wait what??. You're not mad??".

Applejack shook her head.

"Not at all", she said. "Next time, ask me ta get it fir you. Ah care more about yir safety than anythin' else".

Applejack frowned. "Hey um... have you been avoidin' me??".

Rainbow didn't respond. She didn't know how to or what to say. It was quiet for a moment. Then Rainbow said,

"Um.... no... why??".

Applejack gave her a look that said "don't lie to me".

Rainbow looked away. "Maaybee".

"Why??", Applejack asked. "Is it somethin' ah did??".

Rainbow's head snapped. "No!!. Never!!".

She winced as the volume of her voice created a sharp pain in her head. She shut her eyes tightly.

"Careful", Applejack said. "C'mon. Let's go to get cha some pain killers and then we can go to the livin' room fir that movie ah promised you".

Rainbow was glad she was in comfortable clothes already. The hybrid girl was picked up again. Applejack carried her out of the bathroom.

They went to the kitchen to Rainbow her medicine. Applejack gave Rainbow a small snack with the medicine.

Then they went to the living room. Walking over to the large couch, Applejack set Rainbow down. She got up and went over to where the tv and the movie dvd thing was.

Applejack put on Rainbow's favorite movie. Transformers. She got candy that she saved for Rainbow in the fridge. Rainbow was so happy to have her beloved sugary food. Dimming the lights, Applejack sat down beside Rainbow.

"Applejack?", Rainbow said. "You're awesome".

Applejack felt a blush on he face. Rainbow just complimented her. She smiled.

"Thanks", she said. "And you're pretty cute".

Rainbow felt her face heat up. Both of them thanked Celestia for the lights being dim or the other girl might have seen their blush.
-------------------

The movie was great. Of coarse. It's Transformers. It has to be great. Although around the ending, Rainbow had started to doze off. Applejack looked at the girl.

Rainbow was curled up, her tail wrapped around herself. Applejack thought she was absolutely adorable.

She turned off the movie and the tv. She went over to the sleeping hybrid girl. Applejack gently shook her.

Rainbow's ear twitched. She shifted.

"Hmm".

"C'mon Rainbow", Applejack said. "Wake up".

Rainbow's eyes cracked open. She rubbed her eyes, sitting up slowly.

"Huh??".

Rainbow looked around, obviously disoriented. She looked at Applejack.

"Did I fall asleep??", she asked.

Applejack chuckled. "Just barely. You were just dozin' off not too long ago".

Rainbow blinked a few times. Her wolf ears were pressed against her head. Applejack swore she was the most adorable thing she had ever seen. She felt her heart swell at the sight. She shook it off quickly.

"C'mon", she said. "Let's get cha ta bed".

Rainbow nodded tiredly. She laid back down. Applejack sighed, shaking her head.

"C'mon baby. Get up".

Applejack gently shook her again. Rainbow whimpered, shooing her hand away.

Applejack sighed. "Rainbow. C'mon. Let's go sleep in a bed, okay??".

"Bed", Rainbow mumbled sleepily. "I like bed".

Applejack smiled. "Then let me take ya ta bed".

Rainbow sighed. She sat up, half asleep. She mumbled something and stuck her arms out. Applejack scooped her up. She let Rainbow lay her head on her chest as she carried her upstairs to her room.

The blonde teen went into Rainbow's bedroom. She walked over to the bed, and laid Rainbow down. She tucked her in, taking her time, not wanting to leave so soon.

"Gnight", she said.

Rainbow whined sleepily.

"Stay please", she said, opening her eyes. "I hate the dark".

This was new to Applejack. Since when was Rainbow afraid of the dark??. The blonde haired teen raised an eyebrow, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You are??".

Rainbow nodded, pushing herself so she was sitting.

"Yeah. My old masters and mistresses used to keep me in a dark room all the time. They said they were punishing me for being a freak. The dark is scary. There were sounds in the house at night and I couldn't see a thing".

Applejack felt bad. The poor girl had been through hell as a........ slave.....

Applejack still hated that word. She didn't like to think of Rainbow as one.
Applejack saw the fear in her big magenta hued eyes. She couldn't say no to that face for some reason. She smiled.

"Alright", she said quietly. "Ah'll stay with ya tonight".

Rainbow scooted over to make room. Applejack got into bed. The two girls laid there in the dark. Rainbow was already falling back to sleep. Applejack looked at her.

Suddenly Rainbow stirred.

"Hey Applejack", Rainbow spoke up, sleep in her voice.

"Yeah??", Applejack replied.

Rainbow shifted.

"I was avoiding you", Rainbow said. "Sorry if I hurt your feelings".

Applejack looked at her, confused. Why??. Rainbow had been acting weird for a while now and Applejack noticed right away. Now she was going to her answer.

"Why were you avoiding you??", Applejackasked quietly.

Rainbow yawned, her eyes closed.

"I was scared that if I saw you", she paused to yawn again.

Rainbow snuggled against Applejack's side.

"I was scared I was going to puke because I was nervous around you".

Applejack raised an eyebrow. Nervous??.

"Why are you nervous around me??".

Rainbow suddenly giggled loudly. She opened her eyes and looked at Applejack, smiling.

"Because I really really really really really like you", she sung sleep oriented.

Applejack's eyes widened. Rainbow laughed. Applejack realized that Rainbow was half asleep and getting a little loopy. But still. Holy cow. Rainbow liked her??.

Rainbow sighed. "And you know. I was scared of you finding out because I don't want to ruin our friendship. If you didn't like me back and you were grossed out by me liking you, I might as well just leave".

Applejack pushed herself up on so she was leaning on her elbows. She looked down at Rainbow.

Rainbow sighed. "I didn't think you'd still want me around if you found out. I could always just be returned to the shelter and get sold to another master or mistress. But I wanna stay with you, here. I love it here. You're here. But if I'm not wanted here, I can always go back to being a punching bag slave thing".

Rainbow's breathing started to even out. She turned and buried her face into Applejack's neck.

"I like you alot, Applejack", Rainbow mumbled out.

it was quiet. She was most likely asleep. Applejack was in shock. Rainbow liked her. As in more than a friend.

That sent a turmoil of thoughts in her head. Did she like her back??.

Applejack was surprised at herself. How could she even think that??.

Of coarse she liked her. How could anyone not like Rainbow??.

The hybrid was unique amd cool and funny and bubbly and beautiful and way too innocent. Applejack thought she was amazing and strong and brave and her curiosity was one of her best features along with her thoughtful, adventurous, and fun personality. There was never a dull moment when Rainbow was in the aroud. Applejack couldn't even think about sending her back to that place of a shelter.

Applejack would rather die than have Rainbow leave and be sent back to being a slave, a mere object to be abused and neglected by adults. Just the thought made Applejack's blood boil.

Applejack wrapped her arm around Rainbow's waist protectively. She looked at the teenage hybrid girl.

"I really like you too, Rainbow", Applejack whispered in her ear, although she knew Rainbow couldn't hear. "A lot".

Applejack soon fell asleep. She was unaware of the smile on Rainbow's face. She had heard perfectly.

Rainbow bit her lip, thinking. Should she??. Sure. She had nothing to lose. Rainbow looked at Applejack. She decided to wake her up.

Rainbow gently shook Applejack. Applejack's eyes jerked open.

"Huh??".

"Applejack??", Rainbow said. "I uh..... I heard you. You like me back??".

Applejack was quiet for a moment. She knew she had to tell her face to face.

"Yeah. Ah like you back. Were you bein' serious??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. I do like you. Sorry you had to find out through me not thinking about what I was saying. I didn't want to ruin our friendship and get sent away again".

Applejack chuckled.

"No way. You're stayin' with me and there's no way I'd ever send you back ta that life".

Rainbow smiled. She leaned over and pecked her cheek. Applejack's eyes widened at the gesture. Rainbow laid her head down, closing her eyes.

Applejack smiled. Her heart was fluttering in her chest. Applejack relaxed and closed her eyes. The two finally fell asleep in eachother's arms. This was the beginning of something big.

Yup. So comment what you think of this and your favorite part :) I'll try to update soon. Promise.
