The next few weeks had been the best time in Applejack's life. She and Rainbow had grown extremely close. They did everything together. They went to the park, watched movies, went on went to the stores to buy things.

Applejack even bought Rainbow a few chew toys. She came to realize that since Rainbow was part wolf, she acted much like a dog. She liked chewing and gnawing on stuff so Applejack had to buy her a chew toy so she wouldn't chew things up, much like her pencils and pens. She had to give Rainbow a lesson on why not to eat paper at some point.

Rainbow had also improved in her social skills. She was now more outgoing in front of Applejack and their friends. She was still anxious and shy in public. But they found some therapeutic methods to help Rainbow with her social anxiety. Of course it took a while and alot of trust, but Rainbow was able to get into it.

The hybrid teen had grown on Applejack even more. Applejack was her bodyguard in public. Applejack taught her the dangers of talking to strangers. She gave her some advice and instructions on what to do if the incident from the mall ever happened again.

"So if someone ever grabs ya off the street ir somethin, you...".

Rainbow tapped her chin, her face showing her thinking.

"Scream for help and struggle. Break their face if needed".

Applejack nodded. "Exactly. You fight, scratch, bite, go crazy on em. They won't be able to take ya if you attract attention".

Rainbow nodded. "Okay. Thanks AJ".

Applejack grinned. She reached out and tapped her nose. Rainbow giggled.

"I like this", she said.

"What??".

Rainbow shrugged. "Hanging out with you".

Applejack smiled. "Ah like this too".

Rainbow looked at her hands. She fiddled with her fingers boredly. Applejack watched her fondly. Slowly, she reached behind her. She found the object she was looking for.

"Rainbow", she singsonged. "Look what ah have".

Rainbow looked up at her. Applejack held up her favorite chew toy with a grin. Rainbow's face lit up. Her tail wagged happily. Applejack laughed.

"You wanna play??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah!!".

Applejack shook the toy, a bell rang through the toy. Rainbow grunted, looking at the toy. Applejack stood up.
"Stay".

Rainbow's ears fell.

"Applejack", she whined.

Applejack took a step back. Rainbow sat there, watching impatiently. The sight was quite adorable. Applejack had to fight the urge to coo at her.

"Wait fir it", Applejack said.

Rainbow waited. Her heart was pounding. Come on. Come on. Come on.

She then saw Applejack turn and throw the toy down the hall.

"Get it!!".

Rainbow ran after it. She ran down the hall, past Applejack. She looked around for her beloved chew toy. Rainbow ran into the kitchen. It wasn't there. Her ears fell. What the heck?

Rainbow looked around some more before she headed back to the living room where Applejack sat on the floor, a grin on her face. Rainbow trotted up to her.

"It's not there. Where is it??".

Applejack grinned and shrugged. Rainbow sat down, thinking, clearly lost. She them looled at Applejack. The blonde was looking at her, grinning. Then it clicked.

"Hey!!".

Rainbow shot up, her ears rising.

"You have it!!".

Applejack laughed. She held up the toy. Rainbow attempted to get it. She lunged for it. Applejack snatched it out of reach.

"Get it", she said.

Rainbow nearly pounced on her. She climbed all over Applejack, wrestling her for the object.

"Give me it!!", she exclaimed, laughing.

Applejack giggled, holding the object out of reach. Rainbow stuck her tongue out, straining her arm. But being taller and bigger than Rainbow, Applejack was able to keep it of out reach. "C'mon AJ", Rainbow said. "Give it".

"You're gonna have ta take it, RD", Applejack replied, grinning.

Applejack flipped them over so she was on top of her. Applejack looked down at Rainbow. She smirked.

"Hey".

Rainbow giggled. "Let me up".

Applejack held up the toy. Rainbow attempted to grab it but Applejack held up so high up, she couldn't reach it. Rainbow pouted.

"No fair".

Applejack poked her stomach. Rainbow giggled, covering her stomach with her arms. Applejack got to her feet and ran off. Rainbow sat up.

"Hey!!", she yelled.

She climbed to her feet and ran after her. The girls ran through the house, laughing. Applejack was always three paces ahead of the hybrid teen girl. Rainbow had to go on all fours every so often so she could catch up to Applejack.

Rainbow caught up to Applejack when they came back into the living room. Rainbow caught her by wrapping her arms around her waist. Applejack laughed, stopping. She turned to look at Rainbow. The younger of the two tried to get the toy out of her hand, but Applejack held it over her head. Rainbow reached up, standing on her tippy toes.

"This is not fair to me", she said. "I can't reach".

Applejack took a step back, causing Rainbow to take a step foward. They continued to play around, until Applejack felt her back against the wall.

Applejack looked at Rainbow and froze. Rainbow was so close. She was pressed against Applejack, her left hand on Applejack's stomach, clinging to her shirt, and her right hand was reaching up. Rainbow leaned on Applejack, their bodies pressed together.

Rainbow looked at Applejack. She stopped. Her body relaxed, not reaching for the toy anymore. Time seemed to stand still. Applejack and Rainbow stared at eachother, frozen.

Rainbow looked up at Applejack, magenta eyes meeting green. The two stared into eachother's eyes. Rainbow's eyes lowered to Applejack's lips, then back up to her eyes. She felt herself get lost in her eyes. Applejack's eyes were the most kindest, welcoming, and greenest eyes she'd ever seen in her life.

Applejack realized just how close they were. If they were to be any closer, they'd kiss. Applejack could feel her heart racing in her chest. She didn't know why she felt this way but all she knew was that Rainbow's eyes were amazing. Her eyes held so much confusion and hurt and pain in them, yet so much wonder and love and adventure and willingness to trust her and learn about the world and the people around her even after all the things she's been through because of people.

Applejack's arm lowered, falling to her side. She released the object, hearing it squeak as it hit the floor. Then two couldn't look away. They were stuck in eachother's eyes.

Applejack felt her hands holding Rainbow's hips.

When did she move her hands??.

Applejack didn't remember moving them there. Rainbow felt like her heart was about to pop out of her chest. She was sure that Applejack could her pounding heart from how close they were.

The two felt a sudden urge. This felt right somehow. The two fit together like two puzzle pieces. The girls felt like they had no control over themselves. They couldn't resist it.

They leaned in, getting impossibly closer. They shut their eyes, knowing what was going to happen next.

"HEY GUYS!!".

Rainbow jumped away, eyes opening. She stumbled, losing her balance. The rainbow haired girl fell onto the floor with a yell. Applejack looked up. She saw the girls standing in the doorway, a confused look on their faces.

This was quite a sight. Applejack stood against the wall, her hands in fists, held against her chest, eyes wide in fear while Rainbow was on the floor.

They blinked.

"Uh girls??", Twilight said. "What's going on??".

Rainbow and Applejack looked at eachother, unsure how to answer. What was going on??. Did they almost..... kiss??

Rainbow suddenly turned and scampered out of the room. Applejack stood there, frozen.

"Applejack".

Rarity walked up to her. She looked at her face. She only needed one look. Rarity gasped.

"Applejack. Come with me".

She grabbed Applejack's hand. She looked at the girls.

"Pinkie. Come on. The rest if you girls go find Rainbow and get her to talk ".

Pinkie skipped after them.

Rarity dragged Applejack upstairs to her room. The three walked in. Applejack immediately went to her bed and sat down.

Rarity shut the door. She and Pinkie turned to Applejack.

"Okay", Rarity said, walking over to the bed. She sat beside Applejack.

"I think I know what happened down there", Rarity said in a quiet voice.

Applejack bit her lip.

"Can you tell me?", she asked. "Because even ah don't know what was goin on, to be honest".

Rarity grinned. "You and Rainbow were about to kiss".

Applejack looked shocked. Her eyes widened.

"Kiss??. Us??".

Pinkie and Rarity nodded. Wow.

Applejack couldn't believe it. She almost kissed Rainbow Dash??. But they were just friends??. But then again. She felt something when Rainbow was so close to her. She felt nervous and she felt like her heart was going to explode.

"Maybe yir right", she said. "But ah don't understand why".

Rarity rolled her eyes.

"Because you like her", she said. "The most obvious explaination".

Like Rainbow??.

"Like her??. As in a crush??".

Rarity nodded. "Yes".

Applejack thought about that for a moment.

"It makes so much sense".

"How did you feel being so close to her??", Rarity asked, crossing her arms.

Applejack rubbed the back of her neck.

"Well", she said. "Ah felt hypnotized".

"How so??", Rarity asked.

Applejack dropped her hand.

"Ah looked into her eyes and ah just couldn't look away. They were just so captivating. Just like the rest of her. She's just......".

Applejack sighed. "How can anyone not like her??. She amazing and so much fun to be around and she's beautiful and caring and so frikkin cute sometimes".

"Aww!!".

Applejack looked at Pinkie. Pinkie was beaming.

"You love her!!", Pinkie shouted.

Applejack's eyes widened. She shushed her.

"Don't be so loud. Ah don't love her".

Rarity smirked, placing placing a hand on her hip.

"Sure you don't, Romeo", she teased.

Applejack felt her face heat up. She hid her face in her hands.

"You two are the worst", she groaned.

"You two are so cute together", Rarity said.

Applejack lifted her head up and looked at Rarity. She rolled her eyes.

"It was just moment thing. We were close together and ah mean really close. It just almost happened. She probably doesn't even like girls like that".

Applejack shrugged. She then bit her lip.

"But.......".

Rarity smirked. "Yeah??".

Applejack fiddled with her hands.

"Ah think ah like Rainbow".

Rainbow paced the floor, nervously chewing on her nails. Twilight and Fluttershy looked at eachother.

Fluttershy looked at Rainbow.

"So??. What's the problem??. You almost kissed. I don't exactly see what you're freaking out about".

Rainbow stopped pacing. She looked at her friends.

"The problem is that we almost kissed!!", she shouted. "Hello!!".

Twilight stood up.

"Rainbow", she said. "We know that. But that's not exactly a problem".

Rainbow groaned loudly and returned to her pacing.

"It felt so weird when we were together like that. We didn't mean to be in that position but it happened. I've never felt this way before".

Rainbow stopped and looked at the two girls.

"Like literally. I've NEVER felt this way in my life. I don't even know what this feeling is. My heart was racing. I was so relaxed and I felt like I could get lost in her eyes. I-It felt almost second nature to be that close to Applejack".

Rainbow played with her hair, sighing dreamily. She twirled the strands with her fingers, biting her lip. She looked up at Twilight and Fluttershy. Her face fell to a nervous and uncertain look.

"I think I like Applejack".
