Rainbow hummed as she walked along the store aisle. She looked around, Twilight walking beside her, blabbering on how crazy a woman they encountered in the way there had put their lives and her life at risk for driving so recklessly and driving right out in front of them on the way there.

Rainbow only wondered if chocolate syrup tasted good with honey nut Cheerios. She decided she'd try it when they got home. Rainbow grabbed three boxes of four giant chocolate chip muffins each off a shelf. She put them in the cart.

Today was snack day. The day that either Applejack or Rainbow Dash would go snack shopping for any snacks the girls would have that night after pizza/movie night. Rainbow had picked muffins, Ho hos, fruit roll ups, zebra cakes, and a lot of donuts. Powdered, glazed, and chocolate. They were going to be hyper tonight. Especially Rainbow and Pinkie Pie.

"All done."

Rainbow turned her head to look at Twilight. She heard Twilight still jabbering on, not having heard Rainbow.

"I mean come on. Use your head. We could've died!."

Rainbow rolled her eyes.

"We'll we're fine, Twilight. It's gonna take more than that ta kill us. We have luck on our side."

Rainbow smirked, leaning on the shopping cart. Twilight gave her a look.

"Luck had nothing to do with anything. We just so happen to be going at just the right speed when we turned that corner."

"So, luck."

Twilight huffed. "No, Rainbow. Not luck. Just being in there right place and at the right time."

"Timing is everything." She then said matter-of-factly.

Rainbow snickered. "Mhm. C'mon Ms.Time. Let's go pay for this stuff and let's get out of here."

Suddenly two gunshots went off from not too far away, making the girls jump. Screams of panic we're heard.

"GET ON THE GROUND. THIS IS A ROBBERY!!! EVERYBODY GET ON THE GROUND!!."

Rainbow Dash and Twilight looked at each other. They looked around. They were the only people in that aisle. The girls got down to the floor.

"Get out your phone, Rainbow. Call the police." Twilight said in a low voice.

Rainbow, with shaky hands got out her phone. She unlocked it and dialed 911. She put the phone to her ear.

It rang for a second before some picked up.

"Hello? 911. What is your emergency??"

Rainbow was suddenly unable to speak. She had her mouth open but no words came out. She was frozen in fear.

Twilight noticed right away.

"Rainbow?? Are you okay?"

Rainbow Dash looked at the floor.

"Are we gonna die??."

Twilight grabbed the phone and started to talk to the woman on the other end. Suddenly gun shots went off. They were closer.

The two looked at each other.

Were they going to die? Was this their last few minutes alive?

"Hey. You there!."

They froze. Suddenly a gunshot rang out. Rainbow gasped. She felt a warm, numbing feeling spread in her left leg. She looked up to see the man standing there, his gun raised.

Suddenly there were sirens. Police has arrived. The man ran away.

Rainbow looked at Twilight. Twilight looked down. She gasped, horror on her face.

"Rainbow. He shot you!."

Rainbow was calm for a moment, letting the information sinking in.

Then. "WAIT, WHAT?!!."

Rainbow Dash looked down at her left leg. She saw blood and a hole. She had been shot. It didn't hurt like she thought. It was actually just warm. Maybe it was because of the panic she was experiencing and her racing heart. It was keeping her from feeling the pain.

Blood was seeping down her leg. Rainbow thought she was gonna bleed out.

"Oh my goodness." Twilight said. "Let me see."

Twilight immediately took off her shirt. She quickly crawled over to Rainbow Dash.

"I have to try and stop the bleeding." She said.

She quickly tied the shirt up around the would. She then pressed on it, to try and stop the bleeding. Twilight was trying not to panic.

"Lay down,Rainbow Dash." She ordered. "Lay on your back."

Rainbow did as told and laid back on the floor. She looked up at the ceiling. She had just been shot. She was going to die?? Bleeding to death??

More gunshots were heard. More screams. Rainbow stared up at the ceiling for who knows how long.

Then she saw another face over her. A woman. Rainbow stared up at her.

"Can you hear me??." The woman asked.

Rainbow nodded.

"We're gonna get you to the hospital."

The woman looked at Twilight.

"What s her name??."

"Rainbow Dash." Twilight replied

"Did you come here with her?."

Twilight nodded. "Yes, Ma'am. We're friends."

The woman nodded.

Rainbow stared up at the ceiling. She was moved. It was all a blur as she was moved around, put on something, she saw the sky, then the inside of a truck, then. Her leg was touched. The place where had been shot was pressed on, liquids poured on it. It stung.

They told her everything was going to be fine.

Then at some point after, everything went black.

Applejack stared up boredly at the man that was talking at the other end of the table. She forced herself to listen.

Why are meetings so boring??

Applejack would much rather be at home with her girlfriend, snuggling on the couch or making out. Something other than this. Not listening to this guy. Applejack was the CEO of an apple product company and today, someone from another company was there to try and make a deal with them and negotiate something stupid with their companies. Yada yada ya.

Thank goodness her dad was there with her, so she'd have someone that understood her pain. He was sitting right beside her, listening to the man talk for her.

Thank goodness this meeting would be over soon. Tonight was movie night. She loved movie night with her girls and her favorite one, her girlfriend, Rainbow Dash.

Of course it was also snack night as well, so Rainbow and Pinkie Pie would be bouncing around and acting like nut-jobs the whole night and keep the girls awake through the night . They'd have to keep theirselves up until those two fell asleep around three in the morning.

It was Rainbow's turn to pick the snacks. Applejack made Twilight go with her to make sure she wouldn't go overboard. Twilight had sighed, knowing how Rainbow Dash was, but agreed.

Applejack told them that she'd been in a meeting and only to call if it was an emergency.

What could possibly happen?? It was just a trip to the store. They'd be fine.

Applejack smiled at the thought of tonight. They'd have so much fun.

Suddenly she felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. Applejack quickly fished out her phone from her back pocket. She looked at the screen.

Twilight.

Applejack looked up.

"Um, excuse me." She spoke up, standing.

The man stopped talking and everyone looked at her.

"Ah gotta take this." She said.

She looked at her dad.

"It's Twilight." She whispered. "I told her to call me only fir emergencies."

Jackson nodded.

"Alright."

Applejack walked away, picking up the phone.

"Twilight??."

"Rainbow was shot."

Applejack froze. It sounded like Twilight was crying. Rainbow was shot??

"What?!!."

"W-We were at the store like we said. There was a robbery. The guy found us, probably to steal our money o-or whatever. He shot Rainbow Dash. We're at the hospital. She passed out on the way there. I've never been so scared in my life, Applejack. Please get Sunset Shimmer get here."

"Okay, Twilight. You're smart. So you know ta stay there n' wait fir us. What kind of room are you in?."

"I'm in a waiting area. I was just examined and I'm perfectly okay. They told me to call a family member of Rainbow Dash and I called her uncle and he's on his way to pick you up. I told him I'd call you to let you know."

Applejack gave a nod.

"Alright. We'll be there soon. Ah'll call Sunset. No doubt she'll be worried, but since you're okay, she'll be fine. Let's just worry 'bout Rainbow. What hospital??."

"Canterlot hospital."

"Alright. I'll call ya when we get there. See ya."

"Bye."

Applejack hung up. She turned around and looked at her dad.

"There was a robbery at the supermarket and Rainbow got shot."

Jackson gasped. He shot up out of his chair, grabbing his bag.

"Let's go, kiddo." He said. "Sorry, gentlemen."

Applejack looked around at the business people.

"No, it's fine." One guy said, worry on his face. "Go."

The two were out the door in seconds. They rushed to the elevator and went to the first floor. They came outside to see a car pull up. Applejack and Jackson stopped. The car parked in front of them and they saw Rainbow's Uncle in the driver's seat. He motioned for them to get in.

Applejack and Jackson got on, Jackson in the passenger seat and AJ in the back.

"Twilight called you??."

"Yeah." Strike said as they drove off.

Applejack called the others. They all just so happened to be together so it made things easier. When Applejack told them what had happened, they asked a million questions. Applejack just talked and told them exactly what Twilight said.

The girls said they'd be there. Sunset had the phone, putting it in speaker.

She had to reassure Sunset that Twilight was alright and not injured. They just needed to worry about Rainbow Dash.

They arrived at the hospital. They went to the parking lot and went inside. The others had gotten there before them and they met up and walked in to the main part of the emergency wing. They all went to the waiting room. Walking in, they saw quite a lot of people there.

Jackson and Strike went to go talk to the ladies at the desk.

"Twilight!." Sunset suddenly said, walking away.

Twilight heard and looked up from her phone. The group hurried over to her.

Sunset hugged Twilight.

"Are you okay?? You had me so worried."

Twilight hugged back.

"I've never been so scared in my life, Sunset. Rainbow and I thought we were gonna die there."

"You're safe, now." Sunset said. "I'm so glad you're ok. Now we have to just see if Rainbow pulls through."

"She's strong." Fluttershy said.

The girls all sat down. The men joined them. They talked to Twilight. Twilight retold the terrifying experience, nearly bursting into tears.

Sunset had her rest on her chest, wrapping an arm around her.

"Rainbow's gonna be in the hospital for a while because of this." Twilight said. "I can only imagine the hospital bill."

"She has insurance." Applejack said, looking at the carpet. "Ah made sure of that. And y'all know me. Money ain't a problem."

"True" all the girls said in unison.

"I have Rainbow's phone." Twilight suddenly said.

Applejack looked at her. Twilight took the phone out of her back pocket and handed it to her.

Applejack checked the battery. Almost fully charged. Applejack turned it off and put it away.

"We packed a bag." Rarity said.

Applejack looked at her. Rarity held up a book bag.

"We knew Rainbow Dash would be here for a while." She said. "So, we packed extra clothes, underwear, shower cap, toothbrush, socks, extra pair of comfortable shoes, her phone charger, teddy bear, her medication, hairbrush. She needs it, we got."

Applejack felt so grateful for these girls.

"You guys are the best." She said. "You really didn't have ta."

"If we didn't." Rarity said. "You'd have to go all the way home and do it yourself. We thought we'd make it easier on you. It was the least we could do for the poor girl."

Applejack smiled. "Thank y'all so much. Ah'm sure she'll appreciate it."

They all started to relax after a bit. They all talked quietly, charging their phones in nearby outlets, trying not to worry themselves to death. Except Applejack. She sat quietly next to her dad, for who knows how long, staring at the floor in deep thought.

She couldn't believe it. Rainbow had been shot. Since when did that kind of thing happen around here?? A robbery?? Was the guy nuts?? Canterlot police force had caught him from what Twilight told them. Good. He can't hurt anyone else.

"Rainbow Dash?."

Applejack was snapped out of her thoughts by a woman's voice. They all looked up to see a nurse standing at the doorway.

"That's us." Jackson said.

The woman looked at them.

"Two people at a time can see her." She said.

They all looked at each other.

"Applejack. Strike. You two go." Sunset Shimmer said. "We'll wait out here and see her once you're done."

Applejack nodded. She and Strike stood up. They followed the nurse out to the hallway and down to where the emergency rooms were.

"She's in stable condition." She said. "She's on pain medication so she's a bit sleepy."

Applejack nodded. "Alright."

They stopped in front of a door. The nurse smiled at them.

"The doctors were able to stop the bleeding and they did surgery to remove the bullet. She has stitches, too. She was asking for you. She was terrified."

Applejack quickly opened the glass sliding door and walked in.

"Rainbow??."

She walked into the room and pulled back the curtain. She saw Rainbow laying in bed.

"Rainbow."

Rainbow looked up at her. She gasped.

"Applejack."

Applejack all but ran to her bed. She sat down and threw her arms around Rainbow. Rainbow started to cry which was very unlike her.

"I-I was so scared. I thought I was gonna die. I thought."

She sobbed into Applejack's shirt. Applejack held onto her, glad to see her awake and alert. She blinked back her own tears. She had to be strong for Rainbow.

"You're gonna be just fine." She said. "Ah'm here now. Ah'm here. It's okay."

Rainbow sniffled. "I'm happy you're here."

Applejack pulled away and pulled at her. She wiped Rainbow's tears away.

"Me too. Ah'm so happy you're alive. Ah was so scared when ah heard what happened. Twilight was cryin' and scared."

Rainbow smiled.

"Lay down, baby." She said.

She held lower Rainbow onto her back. She took a look over Rainbow Dash. She saw her left leg. It was wrapped at the thigh.

"Does it hurt??." She asked.

Rainbow shook her head. She suddenly yawned.

"No."

"You should rest." Applejack suggested. "You've been through a lot."

"Are you gonna leave?." Rainbow asked, fear on her face.

Applejack shook her head. "No. Never. I just got here, too."

She took Rainbow's hand in hers. She leaned down and kissed her on the lips.
She smiled and pulled away.

"Ah won't leave yir side, unless ah have ta. Ah promise."

Applejack laid down beside Rainbow Dash. The two stared at each other.

"Too bad we never got to do pizza and snack night." Rainbow said glumly. "I was looking forward to having a muffin and eating pizza."

Applejack smiled. "We can do that once you're home. Ah have a feelin' you'll be here fir a while."

Rainbow sighed. She turned and snuggles into Applejack's shirt.

"Who told you?."

Applejack sighed. "Twilight. Me and mah dad were at a meetin' when she called. Ah came as soon as yir uncle picked us up."

Rainbow hummed in disappointment.

"You okay??."

She heard herself.

"Ah'm sorry. You got shot. Of course you're not okay. That's not what ah meant."

Rainbow smiled. "It's okay."

She shrugged. "I guess I'm just hungry. I was really looking forward to eating a chocolate chip muffin. We didn't get to buy anything."

She let out a long yawn.

"Go ta sleep." Applejack said. "You need ta rest. Ah mean it."

Rainbow sighed. "Alright, Captain Apples."

Rainbow closed her eyes, relaxing. Applejack watched over her as she slept. She watched the slow and steady rise and fall if Rainbow's chest. She was alive. Applejack smiled and brushed hair out of her face.

Applejack sighed. She decided to take a nap alas well. She rested her head on the bed and closed her eyes.

Rainbow mumbled under her breath as she came into consciousness. She shifted around.

Her eyes eyes slowly slid open, blinking way the sleepiness. Rainbow brought a hand up to her face. She rubbed her eyes.

"Hey sleepyhead."

Rainbow turned her head, blinking in the bright light of the room. She saw Applejack still sitting in the same spot on the bed.

Rainbow smiled.

"Hey." She said, "now that's a sight for sore eyes."

Applejack blushed. She leaned over and kissed her on the forehead.

"Sleep well??."

Rainbow nodded. She suddenly smelled something amazing. She turned her head. Her eyes widened a little.

Pizza.

Sitting around the room were the others. They all looked at her, smiling.

"Rainbow."

Twilight immediately got up and walked over to Rainbow's bedside. Rainbow was absolutely confused.

"What're you all doing here??." She asked.

She looked at Twilight and smiled.

"Hey, Twilight." She greeted tiredly. "When did you guys come in?."

"A while ago." Twilight replied. "How do you feel??. I was so scared for you."

"I'm fine." Rainbow said. "The morphine is doing its job so it doesn't hurt."

Rainbow looked down at the IV in her right hand. Then she looked around the room. She suddenly spotted the boxes of pizza and the snacks on her rolling food tray.

She slowly raised an arm and pointed at the pizzas.

"Why........"

She was still too think of the rest of the sentence. Luckily, everyone knew what Rainbow was trying to ask.

"We got cha some food." Strike spoke up.

Rainbow looked at him and gasped.

"Strike."

Her uncle got up from his cushioned chair by the window and handed Jackson his plate. He walked over to Rainbow. He's leaned over and hugged the teen.

Rainbow hugged back tightly.

"I'm so happy to see you." She said.

"Well I'm glad you're alive." Strike said. "I don't know what I would've done if you had died today."

He pulled away and kissed her forehead.

"How do you feel??."

Rainbow shrugged. "Tired. Sore"

The man chuckled. "Yeah. That's normal for someone in your position."

"Has a doctor come in??." Rainbow asked.

"Yeah." Strike said, sitting down on the bed. "He said that you're very lucky. If Twilight hadn't slowed down the bleeding m, you would've either died before the ambulance got there or they would've had to amputate your leg. She saved your life. But, you'll be just fine. You're gonna make a full recovery, but might need physical therapy for your leg once you're able to move around and walk in your own. You'll be here for at least two weeks"

Rainbow smiled in relief. "That's good. I still have my legs."

She looked at Twilight. "I owe you my life now."

"Nonsense." Twilight said. "You would've done the same for me."

Rainbow gave a nod and then looked at Applejack.

"Now, why is there food here and why didn't you tell me and why am I not eating any of it??."

Everyone laughed or giggled. Typical Rainbow.

"We just thought that it wasn't fair that you had to wait all those weeks before ya get outta here ta have some pizza. So we decided ta have movie night here."

Rainbow smiled. "You guys are the best.

"It was Strike's and Applejack's idea." Sunset spoke up, grinning.

Rainbow looked at Applejack.

"You're the best."

Applejack shrugged, smirking. "Ah know."

Strike got Rainbow a slice of pizza in a paper plate. Applejack and Jackson gently helped Rainbow sit up, prompting the pillow behind her back.

Rainbow took a big bite once she got a hold of the pizza. She chewed, moaning.

"This is so good." She said with a mouthful. "I love pizza."

Applejack chuckled. "Don't talk with yir mouth full. It's gross."

Rainbow ate her giant slice of pepperoni pizza. She was given another slice.

A movie was put in. They turned the lights down and they all got comfortable. Rainbow went through half a pizza that was meant just for her.

She then noticed the snacks, and in the dark, could make out the silhouette of muffins.

Rainbow wiped her mouth with a napkin. She looked at Applejack and tapped her arm. Applejack looked at her.

"Are those muffins??." Rainbow asked.

Apples smiled and nodded. "Yeah. You want one, don't you?."

Rainbow nodded vigorously.

Applejack got up and got Rainbow a chocolate muffin. She gave it to Rainbow Dash.

"Here you go." She said, sitting back down.

Rainbow thanked her before she dug in. She took a bite and noticed some tiny somewhat hard things inside. Then she realized it was chocolate chips inside a chocolate muffin.

Her favorite. Rainbow leaned on Applejack, looking at tv on the wall. She smiled as she ate her snack. She felt lucky to be alive and she was lucky to have such a great support group.

She smirked.

"Twilight." She called.

Twilight looked at her.

"Ah feel so lucky ta have you there with me. I'm lucky to be alive and still have both my legs, and I'm lucky to have all of you guys."

She stuck her tongue out at Twilight.

"See?? We do have luck."

Twilight sighed, rolling her eyes. But she then smiled.

"Fine. I guess luck had a small role in it. If that's what you believe."

Rainbow smiled and bit into her muffin victoriously. She was lucky.

Very lucky indeed.
