Applejack noticed something was with Rainbow Dash. For the last few days Rainbow had been acting very weird.

Applejack woke up one morning to see Rainbow Dash sitting up in bed, on her phone.

Applejack stretched and smiled.

"Hey, beautiful."

Rainbow looked at her. She smiled.

"Morning, gorgeous." She replied.

Applejack suddenly raised an eyebrow. Since when was Rainbow Dash awake before her. That was so unlike her.

"What're you doing awake?" She asked. "You love ta sleep in late."

Rainbow Dash shrugged. "Well I'd rather have not wake up at all, but whatever." She said smirking.

Applejack sat up.

"You okay?." She asked.

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. Why??."

Applejack knew something was off. She knew Rainbow Dash. This wasn't how she normally was. But without prove, and not wanting to accuse Rainbow of anything, she just shrugged. She leaned over and kissed her cheek.

"Ah love you." She said. "Don't forget that."

Rainbow smiled. Usually her smile didn't seem real or reach her eyes, but that morning it did. She was actually happy today. Her depression didn't normally allow the teen happiness. Guess it decided to back off that day.

"So what's on your agenda today?." Rainbow asked.

Applejack thought, running her fingers through her long, messy blonde hair.

"Um...... food shoppin'."

Rainbow groaned loudly.

"I'd rather die."

Applejack hit her arm lightly.

"Don't say that." She said. "Now go take a shower."

Rainbow sighed, looking at her. "Fine."

Rainbow tossed her phone on the bed and kicked off the covers. She got out of bed and shuffled out of the room, grabbing her towel on the way out.

"I hate life!!." She hollered in the hall.

"No ya don't!." Applejack hollered back.

What was up with her today?? Applejack had better keep an eye on her. The day was just starting and Rainbow was already starting to worry AJ.

Applejack looked at the road, trying to ignore the constant sound to the passenger door lock going up and down.

Applejack glanced at Rainbow Dash. The girl wasn't wearing her seatbelt and Applejack prayed to God they didn't get spotted by a police patrol officer on the way to the store.

Applejack slowed and then stopped at a red light. She looked over at Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was staring out the window.

"Hey, AJ." Rainbow suddenly said.

"What do you think would happen if I just jump out of the car while it was moving??."

That was a strange and concerning question. Applejack wasn't sure how to respond.

"Um, ah think you'd survive. You'd mostly just have broken bones, scraped skin and a crap ton of pain that'll send ya to the ICU. But you'd survive. Why??."

Rainbow looked glum at the answer.

"Oh. Nah. Just wondering."

Applejack pressed a button on her side of the car. She locked the passenger side door, also turning in the child lock. Rainbow must've noticed, but didn't say anything.

"You want some of those??."

Rainbow shook her head silently.

"What??."

Applejack looked at Rainbow as she pushed the shopping cart down the candy aisle.

"But you love blueberry muffins. And the blueberries are soft in those ones."

Rainbow shook her head again.

"No thanks. I'm good."

"What's goin' on with ta today??." Applejack questioned.

Rainbow shrugged. "I don't know what you mean, babe. I feel great for the first time in forever."

"You sure??." Applejack pressed.

Rainbow smiled at her and giggled. "I'm fine, Applejack. Everything is great."

The way Rainbow giggled reminded Applejack was someone from a scary movie. Like a crazy lunatic kind of giggle. She had a certain look in her eyes.

Rainbow sighed. "I'm feeling kind of jittery today. It's great."

Applejack reached out and took her hand. She put Rainbow's hand in the shopping cart.

"Hold that." She said. "And stay near me."

Rainbow rolled her eyes.

"Don't baby me, AJ."

AJ shrugged. "Ah just don't want chat ta get lost or run off when Ah'm not lookin'. You tend ta do that."

Rainbow rolled her eyes again.

"That was only like four times." She said as if it wasn't one time too many.

Applejack patted her hand.

"Mhm."

Applejack

Rainbow and Applejack laid in bed, snuggling in each other's arms, watching the comedy movie playing on the tv.

Applejack had her fingers running through Rainbow's long thick hair. Rainbow laughed. She suddenly looked at Applejack.

"Yo if that woman fell, that'd be so funny."

Applejack looked at her like she was crazy.

"She'd die!."

Rainbow laughed. "That'd be so unfortunate."

Applejack scoffed. "Weirdo."

Rainbow hummed in response. She leaned her head in Applejack's shoulder.

"If I die, you can have my the necklace my mom gave me."

Applejack looked at her.

"Rainbow. Stop talkin' about death. You're scarin' me. Is there something we need ta talk about??."

Rainbow liked taken back.

"It was just a statement. I was just saying if i die someday, you can have my necklace. That's all. Chill out."

Applejack stared at her for a moment, examining her face.

"Mhm."

Rainbow looked at her phone. She texted for a while during the movie. Applejack tried not to be nosy and didn't look to see who she was texting.

All she knew was that Rainbow was texting a lot.

At some point the movie finished. Applejack yawned and sat up. She stretched out her arms.

"Man, that was a great movie." She said.

She looked at Rainbow Dash. Rainbow simply smiled and nodded.

"It was. A great way to spend some time with the one I love most."

Applejack giggled. She pulled Rainbow close and pecked her on the lips.

"Ah love you."

Rainbow smiled. "I love you, too. Very much."

Rainbow hugged Applejack.

"I really, really, really you, AJ. I always will. No matter I might say or do. I do love you."

She suddenly frowned. "What would you do if I died tonight??."

Applejack frowned. "Why?."

Rainbow shrugged. "I just wanna know. I wanna know how you'd react to me being gone"

Applejack get a red flag going off in her head. This was too strange.

"Ah would devastated." She said truthfully. "Ah wouldn't know what ta do without cha. Ah'd be a mess and ah don't think ah'd move on."

Rainbow ruffled her hair.

"I'm sure you'd find a way to be alright. You'd have our friends ta help you. Plus, you're strong. You'd survive. Probably have a very hard time getting over because I'm awesome and one of a kind, but you'd forget all about me."

Rainbow grinned. Applejack didn't smile.

"Rainbow. No ah wouldn't. Ah would never forget you. You mean everything ta me."

Rainbow frowned. "I do??."

Applejack nodded. "Yeah."

She reached out and took Rainbow's hand.

"Rainbow. Ah don't know why ta keep talkin' about death and it honestly scares me. But just know that ah love you and ah want nothin' more than for ya ta live a long, amazing, love and joy filled life. Ah plan in keepin' you in mah life forever. Ah can see me and you graduatin' together n' then goin' ta college. Ah can see us all grown up and then gettin' married."

Rainbow's eyes widened. "You do??."

Applejack nodded. "Ah do. Ah see us at our wedding. You would look absolutely stunning in a white dress and veil. You're uncle or mah pa would walk ya down the aisle. We'd both me a stutterin', nervous mess."

Applejack chuckled. Rainbow tilted her head to the side, smiling at the thought.

Applejack sighed. "Ah can see you becomin' a world famous athlete. You're winnin' medals and bein' in the Olympics, makin' your mom proud and provin' you're dad wrong. Ah would take over mah dad's company and me and you would be rich in a big house."

Applejack shrugged. "But........."

Rainbow frowned. "But what??."

Applejack shook her head and smiled.

"Ah don't need all that. The big wedding, the gold medals, big house, fame, money. Ah don't need that."

She squeezed Rainbow's hand.

"Ah just want you in mah life."

Rainbow pursed her lips together, blinking.

"You mean it??."

Applejack gave a firm nod.

"Every word. Ah just need you in mah life ta wake up to and ta hold and kiss and talk to and share mah life with. Everythin' else comes second. You come first in mah life."

Rainbow blinked back tears.

"Wow."

Applejack nodded. "Yeah."

Rainbow leaned and kissed her on the lips. Applejack kissed back. She wrapped her arms around Rainbow's waist. Rainbow cupped Applejack's face, her eyes closed.

Applejack peppered kisses all over Rainbow's face. Rainbow giggled and pushed away. She sat up and got out of bed.

"Go to sleep." She said. "I'm gonna go get a snack. You need some sleep."

Applejack yawned. "You're right."

"Goodnight." Rainbow said, walking towards the door.

She unlocked it and opened it.

Rainbow looked over her shoulder at Applejack.

"I love you. Don't forget that."

Applejack smiled. "Ah love you too. Never forget that. Good night."

Rainbow walked out. Applejack got into bed and laid down. She couldn't help but think of Rainbow's behavior that day. Talking about death and suicide.

Applejack looked over at Rainbow's phone. It wasn't locked. Texts were popping up in the screen like crazy.

Applejack picked up the phone to see who would be texting Rainbow at this time of night.

Looking at the screen she frowned. Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy, her uncle. What was going on?

Twilight: Rainbow. Don't do what I think you're gonna do.

Pinkie: please, Rainbow Dash. You have so much to live for. It may all seem pointless and the pain and sadness seems never ending, but please don't kill yourself. We love you. Answer!!

Strike: Rainbow. Pick up the phone!! I'm calling you!! I'm calling Applejack if you pick up!!

Applejack shot out of bed, grabbing the phone. She pressed on Strike's number and pressed call. She hurried out the door and down the hall to the bathroom. She saw the bathroom light on from under the door.

"Rainbow!!."

"It's me." Applejack said. "Ah saw the texts."

"Make sure she's okay. I'm coming over."

Applejack knocked on the door.

"Rainbow??"

"Y-Yeah??." She heard from the other side of the door, Rainbow's shaky voice muffled a bit.

"Can you open up??."

Applejack was panicking, but trying to mask it. Was Rainbow going to attempt suicide right now?? While Applejack was asleep??

It was quiet. Then she heard sobbing. That scared Applejack even more.

"Rainbow. Ah know what you're doin' in there. Open up." She urged. "Don't do it, Rainbow. Ah want ya ta live. Let me in."

There was a few more seconds of silence.

"It's open."

Applejack burst in. She came into the bathroom. She gasped. She saw Rainbow sitting on the floor, her left arm bleeding and a bottle of pills in her hand. Tears were streaming down Rainbow's cheeks.

Applejack hurried over to her and fell to her knees in front of the broken teen. Applejack looked at her arm, speechless.

"I..... I couldn't do it." Rainbow sobbed. "I wanna die so badly. B-But I can't leave you."

Rainbow threw the bottle on the floor, making Applejack jump as the cap cane off, pills flying all over the floor.

She looked up at Rainbow Dash. Applejack looked at her hands. She noticed a small, bloody razor in her right hand. She slowly reached out and plucked it out of Rainbow's hand. Applejack threw the blade in the trash.

She then looked at Rainbow.

"I'm such a failure." Rainbow cried. "I can't even kill myself without fucking up. Why am I so fucked up??."

Applejack shook her head. She tentatively reached out, hesitant as to whether or not she should touch Rainbow Dash. She then decided to do it.

She took Rainbow by the shoulders.

Rainbow sniffled and looked up at her.

"Aren't you mad??."

Applejack only pulled her in for a hug. She wrapped her arms around Rainbow, holding the younger girl in hr arms. Rainbow hugged back, still sobbing.

"I don't know what's wrong with me." She cried. "Am I nuts??."

Applejack shook her head. She pulled away, blinking back tears.

"No, Rainbow. You're not. But you need ta see someone. Someone that can help you."

Rainbow looked away.

"Are you gonna send me away?? Lock me up like a crazy person??."

"Never."

Rainbow looked at her, confused.

"You're not??."

Applejack shook her head.

"No. Ah wanna help you. You need ta see a therapist. Your medication is obviously not workin'.

Rainbow sniffled, wiping her tears away. She shook her head.

Applejack gave a nod.

"Well here is what we're gonna do." She said quietly.

"Your uncle said he's on his way over."

Rainbow's eyes widened became fearful.

"He's gonna kill me."

Applejack shook her head. "No he won't. He's just scared. Ah'm gonna cal him and tell him you're okay. Then we're gonna clean you up. Twilight is probably gonna come over and she'll help us with this."

Applejack pointed at the cuts on Rainbow's arm.

"Then, we're gonna sit down and you're gonna talk to us and be real. Tell us how you've been feelin' and what's been goin' on lately that you felt you needed ta do this, cuz ah know you. You gotta tell us ta feel better."

Rainbow looked at the floor.

"Okay. I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Applejack said. "Ah understand."

Rainbow and Applejack got up. There was a loud knock on the front door.

"That's my uncle." Rainbow said. "He's gonna yell at me so much and I'm gonna be in so much trouble."

"No he won't." Applejack said. "He's just worried about cha. C'mon."

Applejack got Rainbow a towel to stop the bleeding. Rainbow pressing it firmly on her arm as they went downstairs. Applejack opened the front door. Strike came in.

"Is she okay? What happened??."

Applejack nodded. "She's okay. Ah stopped her."

Strike turned his head and saw Rainbow standing there, looking at the floor and a towel pressed to her arm. Strike breathed out in relief.

He hurried over to his niece and hugged her. Rainbow tensed, expecting to get yelled at but her uncle only asked if she was okay.

Soon, to no surprise, the other girls showed up, scared and asking for Rainbow Dash. They nearly tackled Rainbow when they saw her. The girls cried in relief that Rainbow was okay.

Twilight helped Rainbow stop the bleeding, clean up, disinfect, and bandage up her arm.

Strike, Fluttershy, and Pinkie cleaned up the spilled pills Rainbow had intended to overdose with and threw them in the trash with the razor.

Then Applejack had Rainbow Dash change clothes since Rainbow was still in the same clothes she'd worn all day. Once Rainbow was in pajamas, they all sat down in the living room and talked.

Rainbow let it all out into the open. She talked about how her depression had worsened over the pass few months, when the suicidal thoughts started and didn't leave her alone. She told how she's been feeling the past couple of weeks. Worthless, stupid, bothersome, a burden, crazy, a problem. Like the world would be better without her in it.

"Well that's not true." Applejack said gently, holding her hand. "There would be so many people what would miss you and grieve over yir death. You mean a lot ta so many people, including us."

The others nodded.

Rainbow sniffled. "I've been thinking about killing myself all week. I planned how I'd do it a few days ago. But then you started talking about how you'd saw me and you together in the future together. I wish I could do that."

"Do what?." Applejack asked.

Rainbow shrugged. "See my future. I can't imagine myself living another day. I can't see a future. I can't see myself happy with someone, or having a job, or even living. I can't see it and so I thought that there was no future for me. Maybe ending it was what I has to do. I was just having such a horrible time getting by day by day, having to pretend that I'm alright so you wouldn't worry. I couldn't anymore. I could be strong and hold on."

She sighed. "I gave up."

She looked up at Applejack.

"But when you talked out future together, for a moment I could see it. I was happy. Alive. I felt hopeful again for a moment. I hesitated when I was going to take those pills. I didn't want to die. I do, but I couldn't leave you. To find me the next morning would be traumatizing and heart shattering. I couldn't hurt you like that, Applejack."

"We're gonna get you some help." Applejack said, squeezing her hand gently. "You're not alone."

"Then why do I feel like it??."

Applejack shrugged. "It's a normal feeling, but ah don't know, baby. Ah don't. But you're not crazy either. Ah know that for sure. You're just in pain."

Rainbow sniffled. "I'm tired."

Applejack looked at Strike. He nodded. AJ looked at Rainbow Dash.

"Cmon. Let's get you to bed."

They all got up. They went upstairs to the couple's share bedroom. Rainbow was tucked. Applejack sat on the bed, running her fingers through her hair.

Rainbow looked up at her.

"AJ??. I'm sorry. I didn't mean any of this??."

Applejack shook her head. "Ah know and it's alright. Just sleep, baby. We can talk about this more tomorrow. Just you and me."

Rainbow nodded. "Are you mad??."

"No one here is mad at you." AJ replied. "Just glad you're okay. Not mad at all. Just happy. Go ta sleep now."

"I love you." Rainbow said.

"Ah love you too."

Rainbow laid her head down and curled up, closing her eyes. She fell asleep after a few minutes, a light snore filling the quiet room.

Applejack sighed. She relaxed her hand.

"What are we gonna do??." Fluttershy asked.

"Therapy." Applejack said. "New medication, and be there for Rainbow. Let her know we love her and that we just want her safe and happy and healthy and alive. The rest is up ta her. But Ah'm sure she'll fight this battle. She's strong when she wants ta be."

"How do you know??." Twilight asked quietly.

Applejack looked at her for a moment. How did she know that for sure?? Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash. She smiled and smoothed her hair.

"Ah know her."

To grow up and find your true love and her married and get a great job, nice house, maybe kids. You'll never know what life has in store for you if you kill yourself. Things will get better. You just have to give some effort to get better. It all depends on you. You can find help. You can. I believe in you guys :)
