Rainbow squealed. She looked around excitedly. People walked around smiling and laughing. Kids laughed as they played games and ate cotton candy. Popcorn, pretzels, corn dogs, funnel cakes, and hot dogs could be smelled from every direction.

Rainbow smiled. She turned her head.

"This is awesome. I love the carnival!!".

Applejack smiled. "Me too. What do ya wanna do first??".

Rainbow brought a hand up to her chin, thinking. Her face lit up.

"Let's go play a game!!", Rainbow exclaimed.

Applejack smiled as Rainbow pulled her along. The teen was smiling widely as they walked along, looking at all the booths and food places.
Suddenly she spotted a ring toss.

Rainbow pulled Applejack up to it. There was a man. He smiled at the teens.

"Hi", he said.

Rainbow waved excitedly.

"Hi".

Applejack smiled.

"You wanna play??", the man asked.

Rainbow nodded. She played the ring toss but didn't win. Rainbow wasn't discouraged and smiled.

"But mister!!", she called, pulling Applejack away.

Rainbow and Applejack went up to a water gun game. A short skinny man stood at the booth. The man smiled at them.

"Hi. You ladies wanna play??".

Rainbow nodded excitedly. She tu does her head and looked at Applejack. Applejack saw her face and backed up, shaking her head.

"Oh no. Ah'm not playin".

Rainbow pouted. "Please??".

Rainbow took Applejack's hands and got really close. She stood there, giving her puppy dog eyes.

"Please??. This is a date and-".

Rainbow's eyes clouded with tears, her bottom lip quivering. Applejack's eyes widened.

"No. Don't cry babe", she said. "Fine. Ah'll play".

Rainbow smiled widely, her tears gone in a second.

"You will??", she said bouncing.

Applejack sighed, smiling.

"Yes. Ah will. Just don't cry".

Rainbow nodded. She yanked Applejack over to the booth. Applejack suddenly realized something.

"Wait a minute...".

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash. She gasped.

"You tricked me!!", Applejack exclaimed.

Rainbow gave her an innocent look.

"Who?? Me??. I don't recall such a thing".

Rainbow looked back at the booth man. The girls gave him two tickets. They each grabbed hold of a water gun. They looked up at the targets.

"Hey", Rainbow suddenly said to the man. "Look at that", she said pointing behind the man.

The man turned around. He saw nothing there. Turning back around his eyes widened. A smiling Rainbow stood there. Next to her was a soaked Applejack that did not look happy.

"Uhhh. Should I ask??", he said.

Applejack sighed. "It's best not to", she said. "Just start the game b'fore she drowns me next time 'round".

The man nodded. "Alright. Get ready. Get set. Go!!!".

Rainbow hugged the panda to her chest. The girls had just played seven more games. Some of them, they played twice. Rainbow was having so much fun. Applejack had won the stuffed animal for her, which she thought was sweet. Applejack was having fun too but she wouldn't admit it.

"Thank you Applejack", she said.

Applejack smiled. She squeezed the water out of her bangs.

"Yir welcome. Thanks fir the cool down. Ah totally needed ta get soaked earlier. Really".

Rainbow laughed. "You should have seem that comin".

Applejack chuckled. Rainbow suddenly stopped. Applejack stopped walking as well. She looked at the other girl.

"What is it??", she asked.

Rainbow looked down at her stomach.

"My tummy is trying to tell me something", she said. "What is it tommy??".

Applejack raised an eyebrow.

"Yir stomach has a name??".

Rainbow nodded. "Uhuh".

Applejack sighed. Of coarse.

"Well", she said. "What does he say??".

Rainbow's stomach growled. She nodded.

"Okay. I understand".

Rainbow looked up at Applejack.

"He said he's empty. He gets cranky when he's empty".

Applejack smiled. "Why didn't cha just tell me you were hungry??".

Rainbow shrugged. "Not my fault Tommy's shy. Let's go eat".

The two girls walked around, lookimg at all the food places. They found a stand. Rainbow got a corn dog and a cinnamon bun while Applejack settled for a funnel cake. They shared a small soda.

Applejack smiled. Rainbow bit into her cinnamon roll. She gobbled it up.

"Nnmm dsdty".

Applejack smiled. "Don't talk with food in yir mouth", she said before biting into her funnel cake.

Rainbow chewed on her snack. It was quiet between the two. Swallowing, Rainbow sighed. Applejack laughed. She saw icing all over Rainbow's face.

"Uhh ya got a lil somethin", Applejack said pointing at her own face.

Rainbow grabbed a napkin and wiped the corners of her mouth.

"Did I get it??".

Not even close.

Applejack smiled. "Not exactly".

Applejack the napkin and cleaned her face off. Rainbow smiled.

"Thanks".

Rainbow bit into her corn dog.

"What else do ya wanna do??".

Rainbow looked around. Suddenly she smiled.

"That. The big circle thing", she said.

Applejack looked ahead. She saw the ferris wheel. She smiled.

"You mean the ferris wheel??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah".

Applejack smiled. "C'mon".

Applejack and Rainbow Dash made their way to the ferris wheel. There wasn't a long line. It was only a few other couples and kids. The woman at the gate let them in. The two girls took a seat. Rainbow swung her legs back and forth, smiling.

"I love ferris wheels", she said..

Applejack looked at her. She smiled.

"Me too".

A woman came around and put the safety bar down. Rainbow gripped the steel bar. After another minute, they were moving. The girls smiled as they went higher and higher.

"Woah".

The girls were at the top when they suddenly stopped. The cart jolted, making them jump. Applejack frowned.

That wasn't supposed to happen. Looking at Rainbow Dash, she smiled. Rainbow looked out in awe at the view.

"Woah".

They could see the whole festival from there. The sun was setting in the horizon. Darkness was quickly coming.

"Isn't this amazing??", Rainbow asked dreamily.

Applejack nodded, looking out at the view. "Sure is".

Applejack wrapped her arm around Rainbow's shoulders. Rainbow leaned on Applejack. The two sat there, just enjoying the sunset. Perfect.

After a while, the girls still hadn't moved. This worried them. The sun barely there, darkness taking over.

Applejack looked down. She saw a few people below talking. She knew something was wrong. Very wrong.
Turning she saw Rainbow Dash looking down below.

"I think somethings wrong", she said.

Applejack nodded. "Me too".

"Hey!!!", Rainbow yelled.

The people below looked up at her.

"What's going on??", she asked.

"We don't know!!", a man shouted back up at her. "It stopped working!".

Rainbow's eyes widened. "We're stuck".

Applejack groaned. Not good. She sighed.

"Perfect".

Rainbow looked down. A crowd had formed about an hour ago. The stupid people that was in charge of the while thing had been called. The people were trying to figure out what was wrong.

Meanwhile the girls and everyone else on the top part of the ferris wheel were told to stay sitting and wait. Rainbow shivered. The wind was picking up. They were high up so the chilly wind got to them. Rainbow rubbed her arms. She sniffled.

"Babe??".

Rainbow turned her head and looked at Applejack. The blonde scooted over.

"You okay??".

Rainbow nodded. She sniffled.

"This stupid cold wind is just uh, making my nose run".

Applejack quickly took off the jacket she had on. She wrapped it around Rainbow's shoulders. Applejack pulled Rainbow onto her lap, hugging her.

"It's so cold".

Applejack sighed. "Ah know. If we don't get down soon, you'll get sick".

Rainbow sneezed. She groaned. That was it. Applejack out her down on the seat and got up. She looked down at the people 30 feet below. Applejack saw the crowd still there. But now there was a news reporter down there. Just perfect.

"Hey!!", she shouted. "Up here!!".

Applejack waved her arms, getting their attention. The crowd looked up at them. Applejack looked at the people in charge.

"Hey idiots!!", she yelled. "We got someone catchin' a cold up here. Why don't cha get chur heads out chur asses an call the fire department?!!".

The people looked at eachother. They got their phones out. Applejack rolled her eyes and threw her hands up.

"We're goners", she declared sitting.

Rainbow looked at her.

"Don't say that", Rainbow said. "We'll be alright. It's only a little while more until the fire department gets here and gets us down".

Applejack stared at her. She knew Rainbow was right. It was only a matter of time. Applejack had to stay calm and collected. Rainbow was sick and needed her to stay calm.

Applejack pulled Rainbow onto her lap, and wrapped her arms around Rainbow's body, hugging her. Rainbow laid her head on Applejack's shoulder.

Applejack rocked her back and forth. Rainbow sniffled and sneezed from time to time. She was obviously sick.

She played on Applejack's phone as they waited. They had realized that they had their phones on them which made Applejack even more mad. The girls had gotten there 20 minutes ago.
How long does the officials take to get there??. Their friends made it there faster than the cops ever could.

'Maybe they should be the new 911', Applejack thought.

Applejack was getting pissed off as time went by. It was nearly an hour later. The girls were miserable. Someone from the other carts had yelled that their friend was losing feeling in their hands and face.

"This is pissin' me off", Applejack said.

She rocked a sick Rainbow Dash. Then they heard the most beautiful sound in the world. Sirens.

Applejack looked up. She could see firetrucks on their way to the carnival. She smiled.

"Not too much longer Rainbow", she said quietly in Rainbow's ear.

Rainbow nodded. She was shivering like mad.

"I can't feel my fingers".

Applejack backed up. She looked down at Rainbow Dash. The younger teen showed her her hands. In the dark, she could see Rainbow's light pink fingers. That wasn't good. Applejack held her hands her own, trying to warm up her girlfriend.

Applejack looked down. She saw firetrucks and ambulances down below. About time.

Firefighters came out. Applejack sighed. Now, it was only a matter of time.

Applejack was about to climb down herself. Staying in this cart was driving her nuts. The cart itself wasn't driving her mad. It was the circumstances that caused them to get stuck in the cart in the first place that drove her mad.

Rainbow no doubt had a cold and a fever as well. Applejack was surprised she hadn't caught it as well from being totally in contact with her. Rainbow had protested against Applejack touching her but Applejack wouldn't hear any of it. She held on.

"I wanna go home", Rainbow said.

Applejack nodded. "Me too".

Rainbow looked at her. "Applejack??. Are we gunna die??".

Applejack shook her head.

"No babe. Nonono. Of coarse not. We'll get down soon".

"You said that two hours ago", Rainbow said.

Applejack stared at her. She was right. Applejack bit her lip. Rainbow was starting to get scared. How much longer until she broke into tears or something??. How much longer can they take up there??.

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash. She hugged the girl.

"It's gunna be alright", she said. "The firefighters will come an get us soon. They will. They have ta".

Rainbow hugged her panda.

"It's okay Spots", she said. "We'll be okay. Applejack said so. She never lies".

Applejack looked at her. Rainbow was talking to the stuffed animal. That showed just how badly this was starting to get to Rainbow Dash. She was starting to seek comfort from a toy. Why did they have to get stuck at the top??.

Applejack swore that she and Rainbow, for as long as she lived, would never ride one of these death traps again. The blonde looked around the darkness. The moon and the stars lit up the night sky. It had to be late.

Rainbow smiled at Applejack. She showed Applejack the toy panda.

"Applejack, meet Spots. Spots, this is my girlfriend Applejack. She's the one that got you for me. Say thank you".

Rainbow made the stuffed bear wave at Applejack.

"Thank you", Rainbow said in a little voice.

Applejack smiled. It was kinda cute how Rainbow was talking through the animal, like a child would. But then it worried her. Rainbow was growing bored and maybe a bit insane from the isolation.

Suddenly a clank got her attention. Both girls looked up. They saw someone climbing up. It was a man. He climb up to their cart. He held onto the rail. The man saw the teens.

"Are you girls okay??", he asked.

"She's sick", Applejack said, pointing at Rainbow Dash. "We've been stuck up here fir hours. Just half an hour ago, they decided to finally call ya'll".

"We'll get cha down one at a time".

Applejack handed Rainbow Dash over to him. The man had her climb on his back. She held on. The man climbed back down. Applejack watched him. It took a while. Probably about 10 minutes for him to get her down. Rainbow was rushed to an ambulance. Applejack felt herself shivering. She was relieved Rainbow was safe. Her head was pounding from Celestia knows what.

Soon the man came back up and got her down as well. Applejack was so relieved to be back on the ground. She and Rainbow Dash hugged. Applejack smiled.

"It's okay", she said. "It's over".

Rainbow nodded. She sniffled. "Ugh. My head hurts".

"Applejack!!", they heard.

They both turned and saw the girls running over to them. The girls looked worried.

"Are you guys alright??", Twilight asked.

Applejack nodded. "Ah think so. Rainbow caught a cold though".

"Excuse me??".

The group turned around. A paramedic stood there.

"We need to get you girls to the hospital to make sure you're okay".

Rainbow sneezed. Applejack nodded. The girls were taken to the hospital.

Applejack sighed in content. Rainbow laid on her chest, hugging her stuffed animal. Applejack and her had on warm sweaters, gloves and socks to keep warm. The people that were stuck on the ferris wheel were all given something warm to eat.

Rainbow sipped on her hot chocolate. The doctor had said she had a cold. Applejack was pissed off at the managers of the carnival. She should have sued their asses but Rainbow convinced her not to. Someone else did anyway.

Rainbow put down her cup. She turned and snuggled up in Applejack's arms. Applejack pet her arm slowly. The teen laid together in the hospital bed, the light off.

Applejack's dad was right beside them. He came as soon as she called him. Jackson had yelled at the manager angrily. He made his point and then followed the girls to the ambulance. He also didn't sue.

But Rainbow's mom did. Eden was furious when she heard everything that had went on. She had marched up to people in charge of the carnival and yelled at them for "being a so clueless and putting her baby's life and the other people's life in danger when they should have called 911 in the first place instead of trying to figure out the problem themselves".

She told them that they'd be going court for this. Rainbow had to calm her mom down before she did or said anything rash. Eden then urged Rainbow to get some rest and that she'd take care of it.

So now Applejack and Rainbow Dash were laying in the hospital. Applejack was exhausted. The cold had sucked the energy out of her. Suddenly she felt her shirt tugged on. Looking down, she saw Rainbow looking at her.

Rainbow sniffled. "You okay??".

Applejack smiled. "Yeah. Just thinkin", she said. "How you feel??".

Rainbow sniffled. "I feel okay. I feel sick though. And tired".

Applejack pulled the blanket up.

"Get some rest", she said. "Go ta sleep. Ah'll be right here".

Rainbow closed her eyes. In five minutes flat, she was asleep. Applejack smiled. She kissed her forehead and laid her head down, closing her eyes. Applejack sighed.

Man. She was glad that was over. Applejack officially hated carnivals. It was full of idiots.
