"Please??".

Applejack sighed, rolling her eyes. She tore her eyes sway from her phone, turning her head. She looked up at her best friend. Rainbow was standing in front of the sofa, a pout on her face. She had been over to Applejack's house that day and she had been begging Applejack to take her somewhere ever since she got there.

"Why do ya wanna go so badly??", Applejack asked sitting up.

Rainbow rolled her eyes, making a face. "Because I just do".

Rainbow groaned, her shoulders sagging.

"Please. We haven't gone to one all summer". She crossed her arms over her chest.

Applejack sighed and sat up. She smiled. Standing up, Applejack dropped her phone onto the sofa. She looked at Rainbow Dash.

"You really wanna go??", she asked.

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. It'll be so much fun, I promise. Please??".

Applejack sighed. "Fine. Let's get ready".

Rainbow cheered. "Yay!!".

It was a beautiful day outside. Kids were running around laughing, their parents trailing behind them. Teens walked around, eating cotton candy and pretzels and laughing.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked around. The carnival. The place of children's laughter and cheesey first dates you see in movies. Rainbow turned to Applejack, a huge smile on her face. She took her hand.

"C'mon slowpoke", she said. "Let's go have some fun".

Applejack followed her, trying to hide her blush. You see, Applejack had a huge crush on Rainbow Dash. Had for the past 3 years of their friendship. They both liked girls but Rainbow Dash was not going to find out any time soon. She didn't like Applejack that way as far as she knew.

She and Rainbow walked through the entrance way. They bought their tickets and headed into the main area. Rainbow smiled as she walked. She could smell the popcorn and funnel cakes and hot dogs from there. Children ran by the two. Rainbow giggled, watching them. The carnival was one of her most favorite places on earth. Maybe it was the way she felt like she was in a movie when she went. Or maybe because her mom used to take her all the time when Rainbow Dash was younger.

"So what do ya wanna do first??", Applejack looked at her.

"A game", Rainbow replied immediately.

Applejack laughed lightly.

"Okay. Since this was yir idea, Ah'll let cha choose fir taday".

Rainbow beamed at the idea. "Yay".

She looked round for her first choice, hap tapping her chin.

"Hmmm".

Suddenly she spotted it. Rainbow pointed, looking at Applejack, a huge smile on her face.

"This one"

And off they went.

The girls laughed.

"That was so much fun".

The girls had gone on many rides and played games all day. They had a blast together.

Rainbow finished up her cotton candy. She tossed the stick thing unto a nearby trash can.

"Buckets", she called.

Applejack laughed lightly. She stuffed her hands into her pockets, looking around.

"What now??", she asked.

"I wanna go on the ferris wheel before we leave", she said, looking at Applejack.

Applejack looked at her. She smiled.

"Sure. Let's go".

Rainbow led the way through the large carnival. They came to the ferris wheel. They waited in line, which was short. Even it their turn, Rainbow excitedly got into their cart, Applejack after her. Sitting down, the girls looked at eachother.

"I love ferris wheels", Rainbow said, smiling.

"Me too", Applejack said.

Suddenly they started to move. Rainbow squealed in excitement. They went higher and higher.

"Woah".

They had an amazing view of the whole carnival. It was amazing. Rainbow and Applejack looked at eachother. The two relaxed once they stopped at the top. They sat back and enjoyed the view in silence.

"Hey", Rainbow suddenly said.

Applejack looked at her. Rainbow smiled.

"Thanks for bringing me here", she said. "I wouldn't want to be here with anyone else other than my mom".

Applejack felt honored by her words.

"Ya mean it??".

Rainbow nodded.

She bit her lip, looking away. She had to control every part of herself. She wanted to tell Rainbow Dash how she felt about her. It was killing her. You know what??. She was gonna wing it and tell her.

Applejack mustered up all her courage.

"RD??", she said.

She turned her head and looked at Rainbow. The other teen was looking at her. Applejack couldn't back out now. She was gunna do it.

"Ah need ta tell you somethin".

Rainbow turned her body towards her.

"Yeah??".

Applejack stared at her for a moment. Her hands shook. Applejack swallowed in nervousness.

"I-".

Suddenly there was a loud bang. Their cart shifted, making the girls clutch into the safety bar.

"What was that??", Rainbow asked.

"Ah don't know", Applejack said.

It was quiet for a moment. The girls looked at eachother in fear. Suddenly Rainbow's side of the cart came loose. The girls screamed as the metal cart broke loose.

Applejack couldn't believe it. It all happened so fast. They were dangling a hundred feet off the ground. She was lucky to have been in the safer side. She held on to the bar and the wall of the cart with a tight grip. She looked down to see that Rainbow Dash had fallen out of the cart and was now holding on to the safety bar.

"Rainbow!!".

Rainbow looked up.

"Applejack", she cried.

Applejack immediately sprung into action. She slowly and carefully slid down to the other side of the cart. Her feet touched the wall, lowering herself to a kneel. She peered down.

"Rainbow", she called.

Rainbow looked up at her, pure fear in her eyes, panting.

"Applejack", she said. "I'm gonna fall"

"No you're not", Applejack said.

She reached a hand out.

"Reach a hand up and I'll grab you".

Rainbow shook her head.

"I...... I can't. I'll fall if I let go".

"Rainbow", Applejack said. "Ya have ta trust me. Ah'll catch you. You're gonna be just fine".

Rainbow looked petrified. The girl looked down at the gathering crowd of people below. Her arms were getting tired. She wouldn't be able to hold on much longer. She glanced up at Applejack. The blonde had andros pleading and desperate look on her face. Rainbow had no choice. She had to try.

"Okay".

Rainbow was hesitant at first. She pulled herself up so her arms could link around the metal bat. Rainbow Dash looked up at Applejack, fear on her face. She bit her lip. She let go out of the bar with one hand, all her body weight on her one arm.

Rainbow reached a hand up, Applejack reaching down to her. Applejack grabbed her hand.

"Ah gotcha", she said. "I'mma pull you up".

Applejack used all of her strength to pull Rainbow Dash up. She tightened her grip. When Rainbow was almost there, Applejack wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her up. The girls held onto the rail for dear life.

Rainbow panted.

"Well that happened".

She looked up at AJ.

"Thanks".

Applejack nodded. "No problen. Wasn't about ta let cha fall. Told ya".

Rainbow cracked a smile. The girls looked down. They were extremely high up.

"Applejack", Rainbow Dash said.

Applejack looked at the other teen.

"Yeah??".

Rainbow gulped. "We're gonna die, aren't we??".

Applejack didn't know how to respond. She didn't know if they were or not.

"Ah don't know, RD".

Rainbow nodded slowly, staring down at the ground below. Applejack panted lightly, her arms beginning to grow tired from holding on to the bar for so long.

Applejack but her lip. She looked up at Rainbow Dash. This was a better time than any time.

"Ah like you", she blurted out.

Rainbow looked up at her. She had a confused look on her face.

"Um.... okay".

"No", Applejack sighed. "Ah really like you, Rainbow. As in, ah would ask you out if we weren't in this situation".

Rainbow's eyes widened.

"Ah just thought you should know", Applejack said with a shrug. "In case we don't survive this".

Rainbow smiled.

"Ah like you back", she said.

Applejack's eyes widened in surprise. She did not see that coming.

"You do??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. I just didn't think you liked me that way".

The girls smiled at eachother. Rainbow giggled.

"Awkward confessions at an awkward timing".

Suddenly the most beautiful sound was heard. Sirens. Rainbow and Applejack looked down. They smiled. Firefighters and ambulances had arrived. They looked at eachother, relief and joy flooding their faces.

"They came", Applejack said. "Thank Celestia".

Firefighters worked on getting the other people out. Then they made their way up to where Rainbow and Applejack was.

The girls saw a firefighter nearby, looking at them.

"Are you girls injured??", he called

"No!!", Rainbow shouted back. "We don't think so!!".

The firefighters made their way towards the two.

"Applejack", Rainbow suddenly said, fear in her voice.

Applejack noticed Rainbow struggling to hold on.

"I can't hold on much longer", Rainbow said. "I'm gonna fall".

Applejack shook her head. "No. Okay??. Just hang tight".

Rainbow grunted, adjusted her weight. She could feel her arms giving away. She knew she couldn't last much longer. Her hands and arms were so sore, they burned.

Suddenly Rainbow slipped. She screamed. She was now holding on by her fingers.

"Rainbow", Applejack shouted.

Rainbow looked up at Applejack.

"I'm love you, AJ", she said. "I'm really love you".

Applejack shook her head.

"You're gonna be fine, Rainbow. Just hold on a little while longer".

"Hey", a voice called.

Both girls turned their heads. A firefighter was climbing up a ladder towards them. Applejack smiled in relief.

The man approached them. He stopped right below Rainbow Dash.

"I'm right here", he said. "I'm going to get you girls down".

"What's your names??".

"Ah'm Applejack", Applejack said. "And that's Rainbow Dash".

"Well Rainbow Dash. I'm going to get you first".

The man pulled her over to him. She clung to him as he made his way over to to another cart. Getting her down, Applejack was retrieved. Both girls were more than happy to be back on the ground.

Immediately they hugged. Rainbow started sobbing.

"We're still alive", she sobbed. "Oh my goodness, I'm so happy. I've never been so scared in my life".

Applejack rubbed her back, burying her head in Rainbow's neck. She held her close, breathing in her scent. She was so close to losing her best friend.

"We're safe now", she said.

"Applejack!!"

The girls pulled away, turning their heads. They saw their friends and Applejack's parents running towards them. The girls smiled.

Their friends nearly hug-tackled them.

"Are you alright??", Twilight asked.

The two laughed.

"Yeah", Applejack said. "We're okay now. Had quite a fright up there. Rainbow nearly fell off".

"Applejack. Rainbow", Jackson said.

He hugged the two teens firmly.

"I'm so glad you two are safe".

The man pulled away, but kept them at arms length.

"Tell us everythin once we get to the hospital", he said.

The girls nodded. Paramedics came and whisked them away.

"And then the guy came and got us down. Just in time too".

Rainbow grinned.

"I was slipping. I wasn't sure how much longer I was gonna be alright noble to hold on".

"Wow".

Jackson sat back, a shocked look on his face.

"You two have been through quite as ordeal taday".

The girls gave a nervous laugh, looking at eachother shyly. It was quiet between the two, as they stared at eachother.

Applejack bit her lip. She couldn't help but think about their exchange of confessions during their near death experience. She had to talk to Rainbow about it and clear it up.

"Hey guys??", she said. "Ah need ta talk ta Rainbow Dash fir a little bit. Can you guys wait in the hall, please??".

Their friends looked at eachother. They smiled and stood up.

"Sure thing, Applejack", Spike said. "Shout when you're finished".

The group left the bedroom, closing the door behind them. It was quiet in the room. The two looked at eachother.

"Let me guess", Rainbow Dash said, breaking the silence. "You wanna talk about earlier".

Applejack nodded. "Yeah".

Applejack bit her lip. "Did you mean it??".

Rainbow nodded immediately, blushing a faint pink. "Yeah", she said. "Did uh did you??".

Applejack nodded. "Yeah. Ah just though that ah should tell you, before it was too late".

Applejack reached out and pulled her in for a hug. Rainbow hugged back. The blonde sighed, breathing in her scent. She had come so close to losing this girl. Losing Rainbow Dash. That scared her to think about it.

"Can't believe ah almost lost ya".

"I'm right here, Applejack", Rainbow said quietly, clutching her shirt. "It was scary and had a close call, but I'm here".

The girls pulled away from the hug.

Rainbow's eyes shifted around. She shrugged.

"So....... what does this make us??".

Applejack smiled.

"Will ya be mah girlfriend??", she said sheepishly.

Rainbow Dash giggled. "I'd love to".

Applejack mentally cheered. She said yes. Oh my celestia, she said yes!!!. She smiled brightly.

Rainbow suddenly yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. Her eyes were tired and droopy.

"I'm tired", she stated.

Applejack chuckled. "Cmere".

Rainbow scooted over. She laid her head on Applejack's shoulder. Applejack pulled the blanket up. She wrapped her arms around her body.

"Get some sleep".

Rainbow snuggled with her on the bed. Suddenly the sound of the door opening was heard. Applejack glanced over to see Jackson poking his head in. He smiled at her.

"We'll head out. You girls gonna be okay??".

Applejack nodded.

"Yes Dad. We'll be fine".

The man nodded. "Ah'll come check in on ya tamorrow", he said. "Love you girls".

The man walked in. He gave them both a kiss on the forehead and a much needed hug. Their friends hugged them. The group left, leaving the two girls alone in the dark. Applejack laid down on the bed, Rainbow's head on her chest. Applejack had her arm wrapped around her waist securely.

"Hey, Aj??", Rainbow suddenly said.

"Yes??", Applejack replied.

"Can we not go on a ferris wheel for a while??", Rainbow asked. "I hate them now".

Applejack chuckled. "If it makes ya uncomfortable, then we won't. Now get some sleep, babe".

Rainbow giggled. "Babe??".

Applejack laughed. "Yeah. Mah nickname fir ya".

Rainbow closed her eyes. "I like it", she mumbled. "I love you"

Applejack closed her eyes. "Ah love you too, RD".

"I really don't like ferris wheels anymore though" .

"Me neither" .
