The skating center. Good greif. Rainbow looked at Pinkie with a straight face.

"Do I have to??", she whined. "You know I can't skate to save my life".

Pinkie giggled. "C'mon Dashie. It's fun".

"She's right Rainbow", Rarity said. "It's fun. Now let's not waste anymore time".

Pinkie dragged the girls inside. The place was not so packed today. Rainbow looked around. Kids played the colorful arcade games while the teens were in the skating rink. Pinkie, Rarity and Rainbow Dash got their wrist bands and were off.

Rainbow sighed. She hated skated. Well that's because..... well who likes it when they can barely stand up for more than five seconds before falling flat on their butt and/or face??. Hint. Not her.

Pinkie was beaming with joy. She was super excited. She and Rarity, unlike Rainbow, were great at skating.

The girls got a table a sat down.
Rainbow scooted in a the way to the wall.

"Oh nonono", Rarity said shaking her head.

Rainbow looked at her. Rarity placed her hands on her hips.

"You are skating. Let's go".

Rainbow begged them not to as they dragged her across the building to the roller skate area.

The three walked up to the booth. They got their skates. Well..... Rarity got Rainbow's skates for her since the girl refused to.

They dragged her over to a seat and sat her down. Rainbow held out her skates.

"Put them on", she ordered.

Rainbow shook her head.

"No. I'm going to die out there. I will not humiliating myself".

Rarity gave her a stern look.

"Do it. 1. 2".

Rainbow sighed and took them. She had no choice. It was either put them on herself or they would do it. And they would.

She put them on and looked at the floor. Her heart rate began to pick up. She had just signed her death sentence.

"Rainbow".

Rainbow looked up. Pinkie and Rarity stood there smiling.

"C'mon", Pinkie said holding a hand out. She grabbed Rainbow and stood her up. Rainbow wobbled a little. She got her balance. She held on to Rarity. The girls skated slowly around on the carpet area. Rainbow slipped a few times but she got the hang of it quickly.

Rainbow smiled.

"This isn't so bad".

"See??", Pinkie said. "Now. Let's go to the rink".

Rainbow's eyes widened. She laughed nervously.

"I don't think that's a good idea".

Rarity laughed. "Let's go. C'mon".

The girls skated over to the skating rink. Rainbow looked around. There teens and some little kids skating around. It looked easy. It wasn't so bad on the carpet.

It was almost easy. So it couldn't be that hard. Rainbow stepped out onto the floor. Her foot slipped. She failed around. She fell on her knees.

Rainbow looked up at the girls.

"This was not easy!!", she yelled.

Rarity rolled her eyes. "Get up".

Rainbow took her hand and wobbily stood up. The girls skated around for a minute. Rainbow was terrified and held onto the girls for dear life.

Pinkie let her go and skated off. Rainbow's eyes widened.

"Pinkie!!. We're right here!!".

Pinkie skated around them in circles giggling. Rainbow did not find this amusing.

"It's easy".

Rainbow looked at her like she was crazy.

"No it's not. I hate this".

Rarity laughed. "Just take baby steps".

The two girls skate toward for a little bit. Rarity then let go. Rainbow stayed near the wall. Her heart was pounding.

She slipped like four times in a minute. She could not stay up.

"Ah!!".

Rainbow fell on her knees for the 6th time in less than 20 minutes. This was getting embarrassing.

Rainbow looked around. She saw her friends skating around like they were in the Olympics. It was ridiculous.

Rainbow sighed. She pushed herself up holding onto anything she could. She skated a few more feet before slipping again.

"I'm never roller skating again", Rainbow promised herself, getting up.

She did her darn best to stand up straight and keep her knees bent but it wasn't so easy. The teen was on her sprawled out on the floor in less than ten seconds. Rainbow laid there, covering her face. Her hair was splayed out in all kinds of directions. This was embarrassing.

"Hey loser!!".

Rainbow looked up. She saw Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon. The two girls giggled.

"Having fun Rainbow Crash??", Diamond Tiara asked smirking.

Rainbow covered her face as the two stood there laughing at her. Then they skated away laughing. She wanted to go home and forget about this day.

Rainbow tried to stand up but she just fell on her knees. She sighed in defeat.

"I give up. No more skating for me", she said to herself.

"Excuse me??", she heard a voice said. Rainbow looked up. She saw the most beautiful girl ever. She had long blonde hair. Her green eyes were as beautiful as the sunset Rainbow saw every morning. The girl looked strong.

She knelt down.

"Hi there. Are you okay??".

Rainbow covered her face with hands.

"Kill me", she said. "My friends dragged me here against my will and just left me to skate alone. Now I've been laughed at already. I wanna die".

The teen smiled. "It ain't so bad. You just need someone ta be with ya. It's no fun in yir own".

Rainbow shook her head. "Nope. It's scary".

The blonde girl laughed.

"Well. Ah'm Applejack".

Rainbow sat up and looked at her.

"Rainbow Dash".

Applejack smiled. "C'mon. Would ja like ta skate with me??".

Rainbow nodded. Applejack lifted her up. She was really strong. Applejack wrapped arm around her waist and held her hand.

"Let's start off slow", Applejack said.

The girls started of. Rainbow tried to relax but her balance was throwing her off.

"Relax", Applejack said smiling.

Rainbow tensed up when she almost fell.

"I can't when I'm about to die", Rainbow said.

Applejack chuckled. This girl was funny.

"Ah've got cha. Don't worry".

Applejack's grip was firm. The two were basically pressed together as they talked and skated. The two girls chatted, getting know one another. Every times Applejack smiled, Rainbow felt her cheeks heat up. She hoped Applejack didn't notice.

"Let's go a little faster", Applejack said.

Rainbow gripped Applejack's hand as they picked up speed. She was surprised. She didn't fall. Rainbow Dash laughed quietly.

"I can't believe I'm not dead", she said.
Applejack laughed. Rainbow didn't realize just how fast they were going. They glided across the floor, circling around and around.

Applejack pulled away a little. She held Rainbow's arm, her hand still on her waist.

"Remember", she said. "One foot after the other and keep yir knees bent a little".

Rainbow smiled at her. She felt her hair blowing behind her. She felt totally safe in Applejack's arms. Cheesy but it was true. She wasn't nervous at all.

"This is fun", Rainbow said. "Thanks for not laughing at me".

Applejack smiled. "Well. Ah thought it was cute. Plus, it gave me a chance ta talk to ya. Ah think yir cute".

Rainbow looked at her.

"You do??".

Applejack nodded. "Ah see you round' school but never really had the guys ta talk to ya".

Rainbow blushed. "Wow um...... I don't really know what to say".

Suddenly her feet out from underneath her. Rainbow screamed as she fell onto her back. She heard laughing.

Lookimg ahead she saw Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon laughing at her.

"Rainbow clutz", Diamond Tiara said, skating past.

Rainbow was humiliated. She felt Applejack pick her up. Rainbow almost fell again when Applejack wrapped her arms around her waist.

Applejack looked at the girls. She was not happy.

"Leave her alone. What did ever do ta you??".

Diamond gave Applejack a look.

"Who do you think you are talking to us like that??", she said.

"Someone who knows fir a fact that what chur doin, is bullyin. Stop it and shut up. People come here ta skate. Not ta make fun of people who aren't as good as them. So what of she fell a few times??. Big deal. Rainbow doesn't deserve ta be laughed at like that. Like you've never fell off yir bike or crashed or somethin when you were little".

Diamond Tiara was silent. She just turned and they skated away.

Rainbow looked at Applejack. She smiled and hugged her. Applejack hugged back.

"Thanks", Rainbow said.

Applejack chuckled. "They deserves ta be told off. That wasn't cool".

Rainbow pulled away. She moved back a little. Her balance went way off. She fell back. But she didn't hit the ground. Opening her eyes, Rainbow saw Applejack. Her strong arms were wrapped around her, holding her in a dip.

"Are you okay??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow nodded. She smiled up at her.

"Perfect".

Applejack slowly stood her up, holding her waist. Applejack smiled softly at her, gazing into hr eyes. It seemed like everyone else in the room was gone. It was only them.

Rainbow felt herself get lost in those green eyes. Next thing she knew, their lips were touching. She realized what was going on. She pulled away.

"I'm so sorry", she said. "I shouldn't have-".

Applejack cut her off with another kiss. Rainbow was in shock. Applejack pulled away and opened her eyes.

"Don't be. Ah liked it".

Rainbow smiled. She placed a hand on Applejack's stomach.

"I'm hungry. Care to join me??", she asked.

Applejack nodded. "Ah'll pay".

The girls skated out of the rink. Well Rainbow held on to Applejack while Applejack skated. Rainbow rolled behind her like cargo giggling.

Applejack smiled at her. The girls got some pizza and soda. Applejack skated over to their table.

She sat down and put their plates and drinks down.

"Here ya go".

Applejack smiled at her. "So tell me about churself".

Rainbow bit into her pizza. "Well. Let's see. I'm 16. I'm an orphan. I'm bi. Uhh I live with my uncle. I love sports. Love them".

Applejack smiled. "Sorry about chur folks".

Rainbow shrugged. "Not your fault. What about you??".

Applejack thought for a moment.

"Ah'm 17. Ah'm bi. Ah love apple cider. It's awesome. Mah family is the owner of apple residence".

Rainbow's eyes widened. "The Apple family??", she asked.

Applejack nodded. Rainbow's eyes widened.

"Woah. That's awesome. So you must be busy alot, huh??".

Applejack shook her head. "Not really??. Ah do work but not all the time. Ah'm mostly free".

Applejack winked sipping her soda. Rainbow took a big time out of her pizza. Applejack giggled.

"You got somethin on yir lips".

Applejack took a clean napkin. She wiped some sauce off Rainbow's mouth. Rainbow smiled.

"Rainbow!!".

Rainbow turned her head quickly. She saw Pinkie and Rarity standing there.

"We leave you for a few minutes and you're already on a date", Rarity said in disbelief.

Rainbow looked at Applejack.

"Applejack. These are the two devils on earth that left me to die out there".

"Don't be so dramatic", Rarity said. "We didn't leave you to die. We left you to skate on our own".

"Yeah", Pinkie said."But still. Who is she??. We saw you two kiss earlier. It was so romantic".

Rainbow blushed. She smiled.

"Guys. This is Applejack. She saved me from total humiliation. Twice".

Rainbow looked at Applejack. "These are my friend, Rarity and Pinkie Pie".

"Howdy", Applejack said to them.

The two girls grinned.

"Well we won't interrupt your date. We'll leave you two alone".

Rarity pushed Pinkie Pie away and they skated away. Rainbow blushed.

"I'm sorry about them".

Applejack laughed. "It's alright sugarcube. Ah like em".

Rainbow smiled. Applejack reached out a hand and took Rainbow's hand.

"Plus", she said. "Maybe this could be a place ta go to on a date".

Rainbow looked at her.

"Are you asking me out??".

Applejack blushed and nodded. "Yeah".

Rainbow smiled. "Okay".

Applejack looked at her in shock.

"Really??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yup. Totally".

Applejack smiled widely. "Good. No great. Very very great".

Rainbow giggled. "Yeah. I guess it is".

Applejack looked back at the skating rink.

"So. How do ya like skating??".

Rainbow grinned. "It's not so bad anymore. I like it. Can we come back??".

Applejack nodded. "Coarse. Will you skate with me??".

Rainbow nodded. "If you're with me out there, I'll do it any day".

The two held hands, smiling at eachother. Applejack giggled

"Ah will. You'll love skatin".

Rainbow looked at their joined hands and then back up.

"Okay then. It's a date".

Maybe skating wasn't so bad after all. It did something great. Rainbow decided she liked skating. She a little.
