lol the fact that I'm on vacation right now and got here (Puerto Rico) at 1am this morning, inspired me to write this little adventure story for Appledash, Strike, and Jackson

"This is going to be so much fun."

Rainbow was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet, a huge grin on her face as she looked around the terminal. All the people, the noise, the bustling, the rushing. It was all so exciting. Rainbow loved to travel.

The long car rides helped her get more and explore the world outside of their town and calmed her down. Trains were fascinating to her. They were fast and powerful. Like giant cars, but they got you places faster than cars.

Plane rides were the best. Especially when her and Applejack went on vacations. Like today.

They were going with Applejack's dad and Rainbow's uncle outside of Equestria for a week. They were going to a place neither Applejack or Rainbow could ever remember the name of. Jackson had been there a few times and he said they would love it. They'd stay in a great hotel and go to the beach and it would be very tropical and warm and do cool stuff like ride horses and go zip-lining and go scuba diving and go dirt bike riding. Rainbow liked that place already.

So, here they were, walking into the airport terminal, pulling their luggage and they all had their own backpack on their backs.

Rainbow looked around in awe. She'd never been in such a big airport such as the Canterlot Airport. The extremely high glass ceiling and wide open space to walk and the people leaving and coming in.

Rainbow was holding Applejack's hand.

"Alright." Jackson said. "We don't need to have our bags checked, since we have only carry on. So, first stop is straight to the security check and then to the terminal."

"How much time do we have??." Applejack asked.

Jackson looked at his wristwatch.

"Um..... it's 5:49 pm. Our flight is at 9pm so, that means we got about three hours until then. So we can take our time once we finish the security check."

"Perfect." Applejack said.

The four walked through the baggage check area and went to another section.

"We have all the time in the world!!." Rainbow Dash said excitedly. "Time to eat and chill."

Applejack chuckled as they walked. "Cmon, Rainbow. You can't be that excited." She said. "It's an over night flight. You'll be out like a light faster than a newborn puppy. And newborn puppies fall asleep fast."

Applejack grinned. "Which reminds me of you."

"How??." Rainbow asked, raising an eyebrow. "I look nothing like a puppy. And I'm not blind or deaf."

Strike snorted. "No, but you sleep like a puppy."

Applejack laughed. Rainbow rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at her uncle.

"That doesn't mean anything." She denied.

"And." Applejack said. "You act like a big baby when you don't get your way. You cause trouble like a puppy, too."

Rainbow huffed and stopped walking, causing Applejack and the two men to stop, too.

"I said that was accident. How was I suppose to know that the chair was unstable??."

Rainbow kept walking, pouting.

"Whatever. Screw you all." She said

The other three followed, laughing to themselves.

They arrived at the securely checking area. They saw three lines. They got into the one in the middle. The line went up to a man with latex gloves, sitting at a sort of desk thing.

They handed him their passports and plane ticket. He checked them, gave them back, and let them pass. He also gave Rainbow Dash and Applejack green laminated strips of papers.

"What are these??." Rainbow asked Applejack, looking at the paper.

"It's a paper that they give to minors here." Jackson said.

"Oh." Rainbow said.

Rainbow, Applejack, Strike, and Jackson were hustled along to the conveyer belt. There were security guards standing around at the body x-ray machines and the luggage x ray machine.

They stood in a line. Putting their luggage and carry on bags into bins, they pushed the bins on the conveyer belt to be checked. Jackson and Strike had to take off their shoes. They put their phones and wallets inside as well.

They got in line and they passed through two different, Rainbow and Applejack on the right, the two men on the left one with everyone else.

They grabbed their stuff, put their shoes and or jackets and they were off.

"This is cool." Rainbow said.

She looked at Applejack.

"AJ." She said.

Applejack looked at her and grinned. "Yeah, babe?."

"Is it just me or were those guys were kinda intimidating??." Rainbow said quietly, looking back over her shoulder.

Applejack nodded. "I know. They were all serious n' mean lookin'."

"So where do we go now??." Rainbow asked her Uncle.

"Let's go get something to eat." He said. "You hungry, Jack?."

Jackson smirked at the other man.

"Jack?? Really?." He said.

Strike shrugged. "If Rainbow has a nickname for Applejack, it's only fair tag as your friend that I give you a nickname. Nicknames run in the family."

"Ooooooh." Rainbow squealed, interested in the topic of nicknames.

"Can we call you JackJack??." She asked, a wide smile on her face.

"No." Applejack said.

Rainbow glared at her girlfriend, pouting.

"Jackie."

"No way." Jackson shook his head.

"Mr.Jack??."

"No."

"Sir Apples??."

"That's stupid, babe."

"Apples."

"That's mah nickname!!."

"But out of the conversation, Applejack!!. Papa apple?"

"Nah."

"Daddy cowboy."

Applejack laughed. "Daddy cowboy??. Seriously??"

Rainbow pouted. "I don't know. It was just a suggestion."

Applejack placed a hand on one of Rainbow's shoulders. Rainbow shrugged it off moodily.

Applejack fake pouted.

"Aww. Is widdle Wainbow's feelings hurt?? Is Wainbow mad at me??."

Applejack held in a snicker.

"AJ." Jackson scolded, rolling his eyes. "Behave."

Rainbow smirked at her. Applejack noticed and gasped and pointed at Rainbow.

"Hey! She's smirkin'."

"Rainbow." Strike scolded. "Stop it."

Rainbow glared at Applejack.

"They're just hungry, ah bet." Jackson said. "You girls hungry??."

"Starving." Rainbow replied.

"Drama queen." Applejack nudged her.

Rainbow looked at her. "What?? Don't judge my stomach."

They walked into the food area. The four walked around to see what they had. There bars and small coffee shops and delis and a burger place and a pizza place.

"Mmm."

Rainbow sniffled the air. She smiled.

"That pizza smells great." She noted.

Strike and Jackson stopped. They looked at the teenage girls.

"You want pizza, AJ??." Strike asked.

Applejack nodded. "Yeah. Sure."

"Alright." Strike said. "Y'all sit down and chill and I'll go get us some pizza."

Rainbow looked around.

"Let's sit over there." She said.

Applejack, Jackson, and Strike turned their heads to see what Rainbow was looking at. An empty table not too far away.

"Alright." Applejack said.

They walked over to the table and put their stuff down.

"This bag is killing my back." Rainbow whined.

"Lemme help ya." Applejack said, putting her own book bag down on her luggage.

Applejack helped Rainbow Dash take off her bag. Applejack put it on top of Rainbow's luggage. Rainbow smiled.

"I have an idea." She said, her face lighting up.

Applejack's expression turned to worry.
Rainbow saw it and frowned.

"What's wrong??."

"Usually when ya say you have an idea, somethin' breaks, explodes, catches on fire, people get hurt or you get hurt, or there's a big mess ta clean up not too soon after you say it."

Strike started laughing. "It's so true."

Rainbow rolled her eyes. "I'm not going anywhere. I just have an idea."

Rainbow looked at her backpack. She hooked the shoulder straps over the handle of her suitcase. She then tied the adjusting straps around and tied them in a knot. She looked up and grinned at Applejack, arms crossed.

Applejack looked at her handy work, smiling. She placed her hands on her hips.

"Well. Ah stand corrected." She chuckled.

Rainbow smiled proudly.

"Wow, Rainbow." Strike said, looking at what Rainbow had done. "Impressive. I would've never thought of that."

He ruffled Rainbow's hair.

"I'm proud of you, girl. My little baby niece actually has a brain."

Rainbow swatted his hand away, smiling.

"Stop."

Rainbow fixed her hair as she plopped down into her chair. Applejack sat down beside her.

"Alright." Strike said. "I'll go get us some pizza. You three stay here and chill while I get the pizza."

"No, I'll get it." Jackson offered. "You stay here and watch the girls. Because ah don't think ah can sit there n' listen ta Rainbow's ridiculous nicknames for me and those girls bein' all cutesy and whatnot with each other."

"Hey!." Rainbow exclaimed.

Applejack laughed. Strike took a seat.

"Alright." He said. "Go ahead."

Jackson smiled at Rainbow Dash.

"No offense, Dash." He called as he walked away.

Rainbow crossed her arms and pouted.

"My ideas are not ridiculous." He mumbled.

Applejack laughed. She kissed Rainbow's cheek.

"You're funny." She giggled. "You make me laugh."

Rainbow grinned at her words. Applejack patted her on the arm gently.

"If ah go buy ya a muffin ta eat later, will ya stop bein' moody??." She asked, knowing how Rainbow Dash loved food.

Rainbow's eyes lit up at the word muffin.
She nodded quickly, smiling.

Applejack nodded.

"Alright. Be right back. Charge mah phone fir me?."

She stood up and took out her phone. She handed it to Rainbow.

"Mah charger is in the front pocket of mah book bag."

Rainbow nodded. She looked at the table to see outlets in the middle of the table. Hm. Smart choice airport people.

"Cool." Rainbow said.

Applejack jogged away to catch up to her dad. Rainbow took out her phone and put both phones on the table. She dug into her book bag and Applejack's. She found their chargers and charged their phones. She unlocked her phone, grinning.

She looked up at Strike who was on his phone.

"Hey Uncle Strike." She said.

The man looked up. "Yea??."

Rainbow reached and hooked their pinkies, making the man smile.

"This is gonna be a great vacation."
