The trip back home was a long blur. Rainbow couldn't remember much. She just felt extremely tired and cold. She was too tired to keep her eyes open. She heard Applejack's voice telling her to hold on and that she's okay. She fell alseep after that.

"You think she's getting better??", Fluttershy asked.

Twilight nodded. "Definitely. It's only been a day, but I guess the magic wore off. She isn't going to die from that".

Applejack looked at the unconscious woman in her arms. The women and Spike were riding the Manticores through the forrest. The wind and the snow didn't bother them as much as it did when they went into the forrest.

Now they were just worried about Rainbow Dash. She had fallen asleep the night before but hadn't woken up. They guessed she wouldn't for a while, which worried Applejack to no end.

"Are we almost there?", Spike asked. "I'm tired".

Twilight rolled her eyes.

"You told us this ten minutes ago, Spike", she said.

Spike looked at his sister. "Well, I am".

It was a quiet long ride. Applejack looked down at Rainbow Dash. The woman sitting in front of her, leaning against her, obviously unconscious. Applejack held her around her waist. The blonde woman looked at her peaceful face. It was covered in dirt and scraped up, just like the rest of her body.

Applejack pulled the hoodie up further, to keep the snow and wind off her face as much as possible.

She sighed, frost coming out of her mouth. She shifted Rainbow a little, being very gentle with her frail body. Rainbow was skinny. Too skinny.

She remembered Crystal saying that she had been starving Rainbow Dash. Applejack felt her heart pick up speed, her blood boiling at the mention of Crystal. The one that took the love of her life away and played with Applejack's mind for months and months on end.

"Guys. Look".

Applejack was snapped out of her thoughts. She looked to her right, right at Twilight, Rarity, and Spike.

"We made it", Twilight said, smiling.

Applejack looked ahead. She saw daylight. As they finally exited the forrest, they saw people there and a few ambulances.

The herd of Manticores stopped. Spike hopped off.

"Phew. I'm glad to be back", he said.

The Manticores laid down, allowing women to climb off. Fluttershy smiled at them.

"Thank you", she said. "We couldn't have gotten here without you".

The Manticores gave a nod before quickly heading back into the forrest. Fluttershy looked at her friends.

"Animals can be very helpful".

Applejack smiled. "You betcha".

"Guys!!".

They turned around at the voice they saw Applejack's dad running towards them. Applejack smiled. Jackson was followed by a few EMTs.

Applejack looked down at Rainbow Dash. Finally. She would be okay now.

The room was quiet. The only sounds were the beeping of the heart monitor.

Applejack sat in a chair beside Rainbow's hospital bed. She was resting her arms and chin on the pull up rail. She silently watched Rainbow's chest as she breathed. She feared that if she looked away, Rainbow would stop breathing.

Applejack sighed quietly.

"Please wake up", she said.

Applejack reached out and took her hand. It was limp in hers. Applejack rubbed the soft skin with her thumb, gently humming.

After a few moments, Applejack swore her mind was playing tricks on her. She thought she felt a squeeze from Rainbow.

Applejack's eyebrows furrowed together. She sat up. She gently gave Rainbow's hand a squeeze. She gasped quietly when she felt a squeeze back. A response.

"Rainbow??. Can you hear me??".

Rainbow's face suddenly changed. Her eyes squeezed shut for a second, before cracking open.

Applejack smiled.

Rainbow blinked a few times. The woman let out a whine as she yawned. Her magenta hued eyes looked around sleepily before landing on Applejack.

"Applejack", she said, her voice still scratchy and hoarse.

Applejack reached out and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

"Hey there, sleepin' beauty".

Rainbow looked down at her arm. She saw an IV in her arm. She looked at Applejack.

"How long have I been out??".

Applejack shrugged. "Maybe a day or three".

Rainbow's eyes widened. "Really??. Then why am I so tired??".

Applejack giggled. "That's because your body is weak from being starved n dehydrated. Crystal put cha through a lot".

Rainbow sighed and nodded. Applejack frowned.

"Ah love you".

Rainbow looked at her. She smiled a little.

"I know. I love you too".

Applejack took her hand.

"Ah mean it", she said. "Ah do love you. Only you, Rainbow. No one else".

Rainbow giggled. "I know. You proved it to me".

Rainbow sighed and relaxed her body. Applejack smiled at her.

"Ah'm so glad you're back".

Rainbow looked at her. "I was so scared. All those months alone had be going insane. I was afraid of my own shadow for weeks. I cried myself to sleep almost every night until I couldn't cry anymore. It was a nightmare".

Applejack frowned. "Well Crystal is dead and gone. You're okay now. You're safe".

Rainbow smiled. She sat up. She held her arms out. Applejack knew what she wanted.

She stood up and sat down on the hospital bed, her body facing Rainbow. She wrapped an arm around her, hugging her. Rainbow rested her head on her shoulder.
Applejack didn't want to let go.

"Ah really missed you", she said, blinking back tears. "Ah knew somethin' wasn't right. It wasn't like ya ta act the way she did. Ah knew something was wrong with you".

Applejack shrugged. "But ah never thought that you wasn't really you. When she revealed herself at the church, ah felt so stupid. How could ah not have seen it earlier??. The strange behavior. Her eyes turned another color, fir Celestia sake".

Rainbow pulled away and looked at Applejack. Applejack cupped Rainbow's right cheek. She smiled.

"Whenever ah looked at her, ah thought 'Rainbow doesn't look as beautiful as she normally does. There's somethin' about her'. Ah didn't even want ta touch her or be around her".

Applejack shrugged, her smile falling. "Ah thought ah wasn't in love with you anymore".

Rainbow giggled. "Well. Take a nice, long look at me and tell me. Do you love-".

"Yes", Applejack blurted out immediately.

Rainbow giggled. "Well I really love you too, AJ. No matter what. Glad we settled that".

Rainbow looked down at her left hand. She saw the ring and smiled.

"It's beautiful", she said.

Applejack looked at the diamond ring. It was all dirty and scratched up and slightly broken now.

She slipped it off Rainbow's hand. Rainbow looked at her.

"What are you doing??. I like it".

Applejack smiled at her. "Ah'm gonna get it upgraded".

Rainbow snickered at the use of vocab.

"Okay. I like upgrades. Especially in videogames".

Applejack chuckled. She planted a kiss on Rainbow's cheek.

"There's the Rainbow ah know. Ah ain't lett'n you out of mah sight".

Rainbow giggled. "I have no problem with that".
