"Rainbow".

Applejack took off running. She ran towards the woman. Dropping to her knees, she looked down at her. It was indeed Rainbow Dash. She was curled up on the floor. She didn't have a jacket on. She only had shorts and a short sleeved shirt. The woman was shivering like mad.

Applejack gently touched her arm. Rainbow let out a whimper and flinched.

She opened her eyes. She gasped inaudibly.

"A-Applejack??", she said.

Applejack smiled and nodded.

"Yeah. It's me, baby. It's me".

Rainbow struggled to sit up. Applejack could tell she was very weak. Applejack helped her sit up. Rainbow was stiff and wouldn't uncurl.

Applejack pulled her close, and wrapped her arms around her tightly. Rainbow laid her head on her.

"I-I can't b-believe you're here".

Applejack looked at her face. Rainbow sniffled and looked up at her.

"I was s-so s-s-scared. I've b-been here for months".

"Ah know", Applejack said. "Crystal told me".

Rainbow stared at her. She slowly reached a hand up and touched her face.

She smiled. "I can't b-believe you're here".

She sniffled.

Applejack sighed. "Crystal tricked me. Ah had no idea that you wasn't really you. Ah nearly married her yesterday".

Rainbow looked at her, confused.

"You didn't marry her??".

Applejack shook her head. "Somethin felt off. She wasn't actin' like you. Ah knew there was somethin' wrong. When I put the ring on her hand, her eyes changed colors. Ah knew it wasn't you. She revealed herself and told me everythin".

Applejack took her hand as she looked down at the woman in her arms.

"Ah still can't believe ah poured mah heart out ta you and it wasn't even you. Ah'm so sorry. Ah told her ah love her but it was meant fir you. It's you ah love".

Rainbow smiled. She coughed. She exhaled.

"I feel so weak", she said. "Crystal told me her plan".

She blinked back tears. "I'm dying".

Applejack didn't know what to say.

"Ah know. Which is why ah came as fast as ah could with the others. They're out dealin' with some things that got got in our way. Pinkie is at the door".

Rainbow nodded. She looked at Applejack. Tears sprang into her eyes.

"I don't wanna die, Applejack. I'm scared".

Applejack took her hand. "Me too. Ah wish there was a way ta save you".

Rainbow smiled. "If there is a way, you'll f-find it".

Applejack gave a firm nod. "You know ah will".

Applejack pulled Rainbow into a bear hug. She tried to keep her warm.

"I love you", Rainbow suddenly said.

"Ah love you too", AJ said. "Which is why ah wanted ta marry you".

Suddenly she remembered the ring. Applejack reached into her pocket. She took out Rainbow's ring and showed it to her. Rainbow smiled.

"It's beautiful", she said, her voice scratchy and quiet.

Applejack took her hand and slipped the ring on her finger. She looked down at her.

"Rainbow. What happened the day you were taken??".

Rainbow sighed. "Remember when you sent me to the store for some garlic bread??".

Applejack thought back to it. She nodded.

"Well I-I was taken on the way home. Crystal took me to this place. I remember being scared. She told me I would never see you again and that she was going to take my place. She told me her plan and that I would die after the wedding".

Rainbow coughed. She seemed heavier to Applejack all of the sudden.
"I feel so weak", she whispered out. "I think I'm gonna........".

Applejack knew what she was going to say. She shook her head. No. Rainbow was not going to die. Not now. She couldn't.

"No. Ya can't die. You'll be okay".

Rainbow smiled. "Applejack. I love you. I really do. I just want to thank you for giving me the best years of my life".

Applejack shook her head, a heartbroken look on her face. Rainbow was saying her goodbye in the form of a wedding vow.

"You loved me when I thought no one could. You helped me learn how to trust people again and how to open up to people. We've been together for six years and I couldn't imagine being without you".

Applejack laughed at the irony.

"Ironic", Rainbow said. "Ironic how I'm the one that's dying".

Applejack pursed her lips together to keep from crying.

Rainbow sniffled. "You were always there for me when I needed you and you took care of me when I had no one else but you guys. You're my first girlfriend and partner in general. You put up with me and my craziness. Celestia knows you need patience when it comes to me".

She giggled. "When I die, please don't be too upset. I hate it when you're sad. And for the love of Celestia, don't go seeking for revenge. Please don't".

Applejack took her hand. She nodded.
Rainbow's eyes shifted away.

"Ah can't promise you ah won't be upset", Applejack said. "Ah'll probably end up depressed fir a while. You keep me happy so ah won't have anythin' ta keep me happy at home".

Rainbow shrugged. "Try anyway. Please".

Applejack sighed. "Don't talk about this. Please. You'll be okay".

Rainbow shook her head. "It's not good ta be in denial, Applejack. You and I both know I'm going to die soon".

Applejack's jaw clentched.

"Ah don't understand why you have ta die. Ah love you and only you. When ah said ta Crystal ah love you with all mah heart, ah was talkin' ta you".

Rainbow smiled.

Applejack sniffled, tears burning her eyes. She blinked and a tear ran down her cold face.

"Ah love you so much. There's not gonna be anyone like you on earth. Ah know that's the truth".

Rainbow giggled. "Nope".

Applejack brushed a strand of hair behind Rainbow's ear. She sniffled.

"If ah was could turn back time and stop this from happenin' ah would. Ah really would".

"I know", Rainbow said.

Applejack exhaled a shaky breath. She tried not to cry.

"Last night ah wished on a star", she said. "Ah wished with everythin ah had in me. Ah wished that ah would be able ta find you alive and be able ta tell you how much ah love you".

Rainbow smiled. "Applejack. You already showed me how much you love. Everyday you stuck with me no matter how stupid or angry or insane me and you got. You cheered me up when I was sad. You understood me and when you didn't, you tried to anyway".

Rainbow's skinny body was shaking intensely from the cold. Applejack took off her hat and placed it on her head. She immediately took off her backpack and threw it aside. Rainbow watched her take off her jacket. She slipped it on Rainbow's body. Rainbow smiled.

"So warm".

She sniffled. "This is the first warmth I've felt in months".

Applejack held her in her arms.

"See??", Rainbow said. "Even if I'm dying, y-you gave me your jacket".

Applejack shrugged. "Maybe this'll prolong your life just a little. Ah don't want cha ta die from freezing".

Rainbow smiled. She even managed to blush.

"You're still so sweet".

She sniffled. Her eyes suddenly drooped. She jerked awake. Applejack knew what was going on. She shook her head.

"No, Rainbow. Listen ta me. Stay awake".

Rainbow blinked. "I'm trying but I can't. I'm so tired. I haven't slept in days and I'm so weak".

Applejack shook her head, tears running down her face.

"Don't you dare leave me, RD. Don't you dare. You can't die. Ah love you".

Rainbow smiled tiredly. "I love you too".

"When ah made that vow ta love you, ah was talkin' ta you. No one else. Okay??".

Rainbow nodded. "I know", she said weakly. "I'll always love you, Applejack".

Rainbow's head fell against Applejack's chest. Her eyes closed, her breathing shallow.

Applejack shook her. Nothing. Applejack was in shock. No. She couldn't be dying right now. This wasn't happening.

Suddenly she heard clapping. Her head snapped up. She saw Crystal standing there, clapping slowly.

"How touching", she said.

Applejack growled. She laid down and got up, her sword in hand.

"Don't let her die", she said.

She marched up to the evil woman, tears of anger replacing tears of sadness. She marched up to Crystal and grabbed her shirt.

"Ah know you can save her. So do it".

Crystal smirked. She shot out magic from her hand. Applejack was sent flying. She felt on her back, her sword clattering to the floor.

Applejack sat up. Crystal cackled.

"The only way to save her is to kill me", she said.

Kill her??. Gladly.

Applejack got to her feet, picking up her sword.

"Ah'd love ta kill you", she said. "Just give the chance".

Crystal laughed. She shook her head.

"Not so fast there, Applejack".

Suddenly black magic rose around her. Applejack watched her with wide eyes. The woman transformed. Sharp teeth, four legs, wings, black as night, almost as big as the room.

The magic mist vanished. Applejack gasped as she stared up at the creature before her. Her eyes were wide. The creature seemed to smirk at her.

Since when was battling a creature from hell a part of the whole saving Rainbow Dash from the clutches of evil??. Applejack gripped her sword.

She was probably gonna need it.
