Rainbow held her cloak around her tightly. She held onto the reigns as her horse raced through the dark foggy woods.

"Go Fire!!", she urged her horse.

It all happened so quickly. One minute she was taking a ride in the meadow with her horse. Then Rainbow Dash was racing into the woods, trying to lose the men after her. Yeah, perfectly normal.

"You can't run forever princess!!", she heard one of the men shout.

She didn't turn around.

"You're as good as dead so just give up!!".

Rainbow felt tears rise up. But she didn't stop her horse. Fire kept running. Rainbow clutched her cloak, her rainbow colored hair flying.

She didn't see the girl watching her from afar, keeping up with her in the shadows.

The girl noticed the men chasing the hooded stranger. She kept up with the person in the horse. She didn't know why those men were chasing after that girl, but she had to find out. Her green eyes suddenly saw the hood come off. She saw in the moonlight a crown on the girl's head. She was a princess. Her eyes narrowed. The princess looked terrified. That didn't sit right with her.

Suddenly the horse trampled over. Rainbow screamed as she hit the ground. The teenage girl tumbled a few feet away.

She groaned and looked up. She gasped. The men smirked evilly at her as they dismounted their horses.

Rainbow looked around. She couldn't go anywhere. She was trapped.

"Well princess".

One of the men, probably the leader, took out a dagger. Rainbow gasped.

"Why are you doing this??", she asked.

The man stood over her. He frowned and stared at her.

"Your father killed my son".

Rainbow's eyes widened.

"So, I'm going to kill him and his daughter".

He raised the dagger. Suddenly he was tackled.

"What the??".

Rainbow sat up. She gasped. There stood a wolf..... kinda. It was standing on two legs. Almost like a person.

The beast glared down at the men, growling. The men were scared out of their wits. They quickly got up and ran.

The beast smirked and turned to Rainbow Dash, who froze in terror.
Slowly the beast began to transform. Its fur went away, her claws turned to fingers, snout turned to a face. A girl stood before her. She had blonde hair. In the night, it was hard to see her but Rainbow could see she had tan skin.

The girl walked up to her. Rainbow scooted back in fear. Her back suddenly hit a tree.

"It's okay", the girl said in an accent.

"Ah won't hurt cha".

Rainbow slowly stood up. She stared at the blonde girl, trying to catch her breath.

"Who.... who are you??".

"Mah name's Applejack. Are ya hurt??".

Rainbow shook her head.

"No. I'm fine. I think".

The blonde walked up to her. Rainbow couldn't stop staring at her with wide eyes.

"What are you??", Rainbow asked, holding on to her cloak.

Applejack smiled. "Ah'm a werewolf".

Rainbow's eyes widened even more so. Werewolf??. They're not real. Only in stories.

"A werewolf??. Okaaaay then".

Applejack shrugged. "Ah know. Impossible. They're not real. But if ah wasn't real, you'd be dead by now. Why were those men after ya??".

Rainbow looked at the ground.

"To kill me".

Applejack frowned.

"As long as Ah'm around, they won't hurt cha. What's your name??".

"Oh right. My name's Rainbow Dash".

Applejack laughed. "Aren't you the princess of Cloudsdale??".

Rainbow nodded. Applejack's eyes widened. She bowed.

"Your highness. I didn't recognize you".

Rainbow shrugged. "It's okay".

Applejack stood up straight.

"You want me ta take ya back to the palace??. Your parents must be worried".

Rainbow Dash nodded, pulling her hood up. Applejack and her began to walk the way they came.

Rainbow was tense as she walked. Any sound at all scared her. Her magenta colored eyes flicked everywhere, looking around. It was like she expected something to jump out. Applejack noticed.

"Rainbow??".

Rainbow jumped and looked at her.

"Y-Yeah??".

Applejack stopped and looked at the princess.

"Ah won't let anything or anyone hurt chu. Ah promise. Do you believe me??".

Rainbow looked at her. She saw the truth in her eyes. Her green eyes were captivating. Rainbow felt like she could get lost in them. She knew Applejack would keep her from harm. She felt herself relax. She nodded.

"Yeah".

An owl hooted, spooking her. Applejack reached out and took her hand.

"Just hold mah arm if you're afraid".

Rainbow nodded. They kept walking through the foggy forest. Applejack glanced over at Rainbow every few minutes. She had to admit. The princess was beautiful. She was much smaller than herself. Applejack thought it was cute. The princess held onto her arm.

"So", Applejack said. "What are you doing out at this time a night anyway??".

Rainbow smirked at her. "I could ask you the same question".

Applejack laughed quietly.

"Okay. Ya got me".

Rainbow smiled.

Applejack grinned. "And so the princess graces me with a smile at last".

Rainbow giggled.

"Haha very funny. Sorry I'm just".

Applejack placed a hand in her shoulder.

"No need fir an explanation. Ah don't blame ya. What cha went through was scary and ah definitely understand".

The girls turned. The castle was in sight. They walked up the path. When they got there, they saw guards and other people outside, looking around.

Rainbow smiled when she saw her parents.

"Mom!! Dad!!".

The king and queen heard her and saw the girls coming up the path. Rainbow ran to her parents, her parents running to her. They met in the middle. Rainbow's father scooped her up.

"Oh my darling", her mother said.

Rainbow was put down but kept at arms length.

"Are you alright??", her father asked.

Rainbow nodded.

"I was in the meadow with my horse when these men chased me. They tried to kill me".

The Royals gasped and looked at eachother.

"Are you hurt??. How did you get away??".

Rainbow smiled. She turned and looked at Applejack.

"This is Applejack. She saved me".

The king and queen looked at the other girl. Applejack walked up to them and bowed.

"Thank you so much", the king said.

Applejack smiled. "You're welcome. Ah just saw her in danger and ah did what ah had ta do. She's a bit shaken up, but fine".

Applejack smiled at Rainbow who held onto her arm. Rainbow's parents looked at eachother with a knowing glance. They could tell there was something speacial between their daughter and the blonde hero.

The king looked at Applejack.

"What about the attackers??".

Applejack frowned. "Oh uh well. They ran away. After ah showed up, they were ran scared".

The king looked at Applejack.

"Well since they got away, we'll need Rainbow to be protected at all times until they are caught. And you are just the one to do it".

Applejack was surprised. Her??. Protect the princess??. She looked at Rainbow, who smiled at her. She felt her mind choose an answer. Of course she'll protect Rainbow. She couldn't but feel attacked to the princess, though they had just met that night.

Applejack nodded. "Ah'll do it".
The king nodded. "Good. You'll be staying with us until the attackers are caught".

Applejack nodded. "Sure thing your highness".

They all headed back to the castle.

"Applejack", the king said. "How did you manage to scare off grown men??".

Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked at eachother. They smiled and winked.

"Trust me dad", Rainbow said giggling. "You wouldn't believe us if we told you".
