Rainbow loved soccer. It was her favorite sport. She loved the feeling of running down the field, her heart pumping.

She was also known in school for being great at it, though she wasn't on the soccer team. Everyone kept telling her to try out but Rainbow would always refuse.

But one day her girlfriend got her to do it. She tried out for the soccer team. They needed new members. Rainbow got her soccer shoes from her locker. She and Applejack stayed after school. Rainbow played with her ball while waiting. It kept her mind occupied.

"Left, right, left, right", she repeated.

"Say that again and Ah'll have ta tape your mouth shut", Applejack groaned.

Rainbow looked at her grinning. She bounced the ball on her knee.

"Rainbow Dash", the soccer coach called.

Rainbow waved at Applejack and walked out onto the field. She was up against the best player on the team. Spitfire. The girl had golden messy hair. A tomboy look. She was older and taller than Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow gave a slight wave.

"Simple. Try your best and try to get a goal", Spitfire said.

Rainbow nodded. "Okay".

A whistle blew a few seconds later. Rainbow had the ball instantly. She ran down the field to the net and scored. Turning around she looked at Spitfire.

"So. Go again??".

Spitfire nodded. "Lucky shot".

Rainbow kicked her the ball and walked over to her. They went again. Rainbow won. They went again. Rainbow won.

After around 7 times Rainbow still won each time. The teen didn't break a sweat. She was having fun too. It wasn't even tryouts for her. It was like a regular game of soccer with her friends.

"Okay this is weird", one of Spitfire's teammates said, crossing his arms.

Rainbow shrugged. "Am I done??", she asked.

Spitfire nodded. "Yes. You're done. Good job".

Rainbow smiled and walked over to Applejack. The blonde had a smile. She picked up the smaller girl.

"That was awesome. You kicked her butt. She didn't even get ta touch the ball".

Rainbow smiled. "Yeah. I hope I make the team".

Applejack placed her hands on her hips.

"There is no way you didn't make it", she said. Rainbow and her went to her house. Rainbow stayed outside all afternoon and played. Applejack joined her for a game. The two were evenly matched.

"How can ya play all day??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow shrugged. "I don't know. I'm just use to it I guess".

The next day at the end of school Rainbow went in to check if she made the team. There was a poster with names of the people that made it.

"Yes!!".

She jumped up and down in the middle of the halls.

"Someone's excited", a voice said.

Rainbow turned around. She saw Applejack with their friends. She ran over to her.

"I made the team", she said excitedly.

The girls smiled.

"I knew you could do it", Applejack said smiling.

Applejack hugged her.

"Ah'm proud of ya. Plus you're great at it. It would be a stupid mistake fir them not ta put you on the team".

Rainbow held her soccer ball in her arms.

"So what do you guys wanna do??", Pinkie asked.

Rainbow grinned. "Wanna play??".
