Applejack gripped the rope as she looked out at the ocean, the wind blew in her hair. She looked around as land came closer.

"Hey Twi!!", she called down to her crew member on the deck of the skip.

The purple haired teen heard her and looked up at her.

"Yeah??", she called.

"Ya think the person will be annoying ir a bother ir get in our way while we work??".

Twilight shrugged. "Not sure. But I've never met her. All I know is that the person we'll be transporting is a girl and she's taken down a whole ship of them when she was younger".

Applejack was intrigued. She thought that the girl would be some girl that was afraid of everything. You see she was captain kf the ship. They had been asked to transport someone from one the kingdom of Crystal to the kingdom of Cloudsdale. Only a few days away. Guess this girl would be interesting. Applejack hoped the girl was cute.

"I heard she's royalty!!".

Applejack flicked her head over to look at Pinkie Pie. The girl was swinging in the mass of the ship, her pet bird on her shoulder.

"A princess ay??", Applejack smirked. She couldn't wait to see this. A  princess. Interesting indeed.

Soon they arrived at shore. Applejack climbed on down to be with the rest of her crew. Sure enough they saw a girl standing there. She wore a white shirt with a long red skirt, and a black belt around her waist. She had a cloak around her.

Applejack felt her breath hitch. The girl was beautiful indeed. Long rainbow colored hair and light blue skin. She had big magenta colored eyes that were downcast. She had bags with her. A man stood beside her. Applejack walked down the walkway to them.

"Ahoy there. Ah'm Applejack. The captain of this ship".

The man stepped up. He was tall and had on a suit.

"This is princess Rainbow Dash. You will take her to Cloudsdale".

Applejack nodded and looked at the princess. The girl didn't even look at her.

"That's right sir".

The man turned to the princess and knelt down.

"Okay Rainbow. You'll be alright. Remember what I said. These girls are those people. Remember that. Try to be nice".

The princess nodded.

"Do I have to go alone??", she whispered.

The man smiled. "It'll be alright your highness. You'll be in the palace in no time. Ah'll meet cha there".

The princess nodded and turned. Applejack led her up aboard the ship. The man helped her with her bags. They had a room for her below the deck. The ship was huge.

Applejack and the other girls soon set sail.

Applejack couldn't help but watch the princess. The girl sat on a barrel and held her cloak tightly and stared out at the sea. The blonde walked over to her.

"Hi".

Rainbow Dash looked at her wordlessly and then looked away. Applejack frowned.

"You okay??".

Rainbow nodded, not looking at her.

Applejack walked away. She found Twilight at the wheel, steering the ship.

"What's up with the girl??. She don't even wanna take a glance at me".

Twilight shrugged and looked at her.

"Not sure AJ. But you have a few days to figure it out. I'm sure she's just shy".

Applejack looked at the princess.

"Yeah. Ah guess".

It was two days later and the princess still didn't talk to any of them. She just gave the crew glances and nods and gestures. She never asked for anything. If she needed something, she got it herself.

One night Applejack was laying on her bed thinking about the princess. She couldn't get the girl off her mind. The way she looked at Applejack like with complete distrust. It bothered the pirate captain.

She sat up and sighed. She put on her boots, deciding to get some air.

Stepping outside, she walked up to the deck. Suddenly she stopped. Applejack saw the princess sitting by edge of the ship, her cloak up.

Applejack decided to talk to her. Walking over to her, she grabbed a barrel and placed it down beside her, scaring the princess.  The girl jumped up backed away.

"What do you want??", she asked.

Applejack shrugged. "Just ta talk. Ah won't hurt cha".

Rainbow slowly sat back down. She lowered her hood.

Applejack smiled.

"You're very uh beautiful if ah do say so mahself".

Rainbow looked back out at the ocean.

"Thank you".

Applejack gave a nod. "So. Princess Rainbow Dash of Cloudsdale. Sounds nice".

Rainbow nodded. "I guess".

Applejack frowned. "Why don't cha like me??".

Rainbow looked at her.

"Ya don't talk ta us, stay as far away from us as possible sometimes. Ya don't even look at me most of the day. Am ah the crakin ir somethin??".

Rainbow giggled a little.

"If you are then you're a beautiful crakin".

Applejack smiled. "Thanks princess".

Rainbow looked at her. "Just call me Rainbow Dash".

Applejack nodded. "Okay".

She sighed and looked up.

"Mah parents woulda loved seeing these stars out tonight".

She smiled sadly. "If they were still alive".

Rainbow looked at her.

"I'm so sorry Captain".

Applejack looked at her. "Thanks an can me Applejack or AJ".

Rainbow looked back out at the sea and frowned.

"My parents were killed when I wa younger".

Applejack looked at her shocked. The king and queen of Cloudsdale were dead??. She hadn't known that.

She didn't know what to say.

"Ah'm sorry. Ah didn't know".

Rainbow looked at her lap then glanced up at Applejack.

"They were killed by pirates".

It was quiet. Rainbow pulled her hood up.

"That's why I don't trust pirates. Pirates killed my family. We were in our way to Canterlot when pirates looted our ship. I and my personal guard were the only ones to survive. Everyone else, my parents and my sisters. They-".

Rainbow closed her eyes and looked away. She felt tears slide down her cheeks.

"They were dead".

She looked up at Applejack and pulled her hood down.

"That's why I don't trust pirates".

Applejack was taken by surprise. She hadn't known that this girl's life could have been so hard.

"Those pirates took everything from me".

Rainbow looked out at the sea.

"My family, my childhood, the only people that ever loved me. My parents".

Rainbow wiped her tears away and sighed.

"But I know that not all pirates are like that. You're not".

Applejack shook her head. "No"

She stood up.

"Rainbow??. Ah'm so sorry about your family. If ah ever meet those people that did that, ah will hurt em".

Rainbow smiled at her words.

"Thanks. But not necessary".

Applejack reached out and touched her shoulder.

"Ah can't imagine what that must a felt like. Goin through that an find in your family dead. Then goin through life with that image in your head. You're strong".

Rainbow looked at her.

"You think so??".

Applejack smiled and nodded.

"Yeah. So, wanna be friends??".

Rainbow thought about it. She looked up at the pirate. She smiled.

"Okay".

Applejack walked around.

"Rainbow??", she called.

"Over here".

Applejack turned around, she saw Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie hanging on to the ropes that were tied to the sails. The female captain walked over to them.

"Be careful guys", she said.

Rainbow smiled.

"Yes mother".

Applejack laughed. "C'mon".

She reached a hand out. Rainbow took it. Applejack helped her down.

"Thanks".

Applejack smiled. The girls began to walk around the ship.

"This trip has been fun", Rainbow said, hands folded.

Applejack nodded. "Yeah. Remember yesterday when we were fishin??".

Rainbow laughed. "And that fish smacked your face??".

Applejack blushed. "Ah meant ta do that".

Rainbow nodded. "Okay. I am sure that's what happened".

She sighed. "This has been the best few days of my life. When I get to the palace I'll be prepared for my wedding".

Applejack frowned. "What weddin??".

Rainbow looked at her. "I am have to get married. It's for the kingdom. I have to marry King Soarin of Boltsman. He's........ bearable".

They stopped walking.

"Does he treat cha nice??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow shrugged. "He doesn't hurt me if that's what you mean. He's self-centered, arrogant, selfish".

The princess laughed dryly.

"I bet he has a plan have me assassined a few days after the wedding then keep the kingdom to himself".

"Ah won't let him do that".

Rainbow turned to Applejack. Applejack looked into her eyes.

"Trust me when ah say this princess. Ah would never let anyone hurt chu. Promise".

Rainbow smiled.

"Thanks AJ. But you can't keep that promise. After this trip, we'll never see eachother again".

That was true. Applejack smiled a little.

"You don't know that. Ah'm full of surprises".

Rainbow walked down the wooden walkway. She smiled at her gaurd. Applejack walked beside her. The blonde saw the man she saw at the beginning of the trip.

He smiled at them.

"Your highness. How was your trip??".

Rainbow smiled. "It was so much fun. I made a few friends".

She gestured to Applejack. The blonde grinned.

"Ah ah friend??. And here ah thought we had something special".

Rainbow laughed.

"Well we must be off for the castle".

The girls looked at eachother.

"Your highness", Applejack said bowing.

"Captain", Rainbow said with a nod.

Applejack and her walked to the carriage. Applejack held a hand out, helping Rainbow Dash in. The princess smiled.

"Thank you Applejack. I won't forget you".

Applejack smiled. "You'll see me again. Just watch".

The girls waved as the carriage rode off. Applejack smiled and waved.

Rainbow sighed. She walked through the castle, bored out of her mind.

She missed the ship. She missed her friends. She missed Applejack. The pirate captain had her thinking about her all the time.

Rainbow looked out of a window that faced the ocean. She leaned against the wall.

"Anything wrong miss??", she heard behind her.

She shook her head.

"No. I'm fine".

"Can ya help me find the princess??. Ah'm new and Ah've been assigned to be her personal guard".

Rainbow Dash fixed her composure and turned around. She gasped. She smiled. Applejack stood there, in a guard suit, arms crossed, a smile on her face.

"Applejack".

Applejack walked up to her.

"Hey. What's up??".

Rainbow raised an eyebrow. She motioned at her outfit.

"How??".

Applejack grinned. "Ah'm your new guard. Told ya Ah'd be there ta protect ya".

Rainbow hugged Applejack, taking the blonde off guard. She hugged back.

"Thanks Applejack. You're amazing".

Rainbow pulled away and smiled up at the taller girl.

"So, about the wedding. There isn't going to be one".

Applejack frowned. "Why not??".

Rainbow sighed annoyed. "The king doesn't think I'm royal enough or pretty enough".

Applejack scoffed. "Yeah right. He's crazy. You're gorgeous".

Rainbow smiled. "Thanks. It's okay though. I didn't like him anyway. Too stuck up. You however, are just right".

Applejack laughed. "Then maybe we should get married".

Rainbow laughed. "Maybe".
