Rainbow walked into the house, completely on edge. She had just came back from a movie night with her family. It was pitch black outside. She was not okay.

Applejack came into the room. She smiled.

"Hey babe".

"Ahh!!!". Rainbow whipped around in fear. She saw Applejack and relaxed.

"Don't do that. I nearly had a heart attack".

Applejack raised an eyebrow. She noticed that Rainbow looked afraid.

"What's wrong babe??. What happened with your folks??".

Rainbow heard a creak and clung onto Applejack. She buried her face into the blonde's shirt as the creaking got louder. Whatever it was was getting closer.

"What's wrong Rainbow??".

Applejack wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Don't let it get me", Rainbow said.

Applejack was worried. Rainbow heard the creaking stop. She looked up then at the floor.

"Ahh!!".

She jumped behind Applejack, clinging to her shirt.

"Babe it's okay. It's just our turtle. Tank".

Rainbow looked down. She saw the little green thing on the floor. Rainbow sighed.

"Sorry".

Applejack turned around.

"What's up with you??".

Rainbow sighed. "My family was making fun of me, saying I'm a big scared cat. They made me watch the exorcist".

Applejack's eyes widened.

"Are they insane??. That movie gives grown men nightmares fir months. Ah know ah few".

Rainbow looked around. She noticed it was night time. She wrapped an arm around herself.

"Yeah. They were jerks. But I'm okay. I'm just tired", Rainbow sighed. Applejack rubbed her arm comfortingly.

"Okay. Let's go ta bed".

The two went upstairs. Rainbow Dash was very jumpy. She held on to Applejack's arm until the light was turned on. The teen fearfully looked around the room.

"You okay there babe??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow nodded. She took a deep breath. She changed her clothes and they got into bed.

Rainbow shot up screaming.

Applejack woke up at the scream and sat up.

"Rainbow??".

Rainbow shot out of bed and backed away.

Applejack turned the light on. She saw Rainbow standing in the corner, pressed against the wall, crying. The blonde quickly got out of bed.

"Rainbow. Babe, it's alright".

Rainbow looked up at her. She saw Applejack and ran over her. Applejack held her while she cried.

"It felt so real. They were gunna bury me alive".

Applejack shushed her.

"It's okay. Nothing's gunna getcha", she said rubbing her back.

Rainbow clung onto her.

"I'm scared".

Applejack felt her heart break at the sight. She hated it when Rainbow was like this.

"It was just a dream babe. It wasn't real. Nothin' and no one is gunna getcha. Ah promise. Ah would never let anybody hurt chu".

Rainbow calmed down a bit. She sniffled.

"Okay. I believe you".

Rainbow pulled away. Applejack led her to their bed. The girls sat down.

"You good??".

Rainbow nodded. "Thanks".

Applejack hugged her. "No problem. Next time, Ah'm goin with ya ta make sure this doesn't happen again".

Rainbow nodded. "Okay".

"Wanna try ta sleep now??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow nodded. She dried her tears.
Applejack turned the light off and the girls got into bed. Rainbow laid down. She felt an arm around her.

"Ah'm right here. I love you", she heard Applejack say.

"I love you too".

Rainbow snuffed into her, closing her eyes. Applejack would protect her. She slept peacefully. She had her protector to keep her safe when things went bump in the night.
